It was nighttime, and Naruto was lying in his bed. One of the skills he learned during the war was how to meditate in this state. Usually, Kurama would stand guard and use sensing skills to keep an eye on the things around him, but since it wasn't necessary now, he was just meditating.
Naruto decided to visit the door that was triggered today. It was a door to his memories of hunger. Naruto was kicked out of the orphanage at the age of 3. No one looked for him at that time, and since the matron kept giving Sandaime fake updates about him.
Naruto was alone and scared in a world that hated him, but his biggest problem was finding food. It was his third birthday when he was kicked out, so it was in the middle of October. It was cold for a boy who was only wearing a shirt so worn out you could see the other side.
He didn't even have pants or shoes. The shirt was dirty and oversized, reaching his knees. It had a few holes in it as well. When he was kicked out, he was trying to find a place to stay when villagers started chasing him.
He was so scared and tried to run away, but there was no way a three-year-old could outrun a mob of angry adults. They caught up to him and beat him to an inch of his life. He didn't know why he was hated and was so scared.
He blacked out mid-beating, and when he woke up, he was in a dumpster in an alley. He saw some rats eating out of the dumpster, so he also looked for food. He saw some stale bread and pieces of leftover and ate as much as possible.
He couldn't care less if the food was in the garbage as long as he could fill his stomach. He wanted to stay but knew he would be found and was so cold, so he started searching for clothes.
He couldn't find anything except another torn shirt, but it was better than nothing, so he also put that on. It didn't help his blue feet or shivering form, but there wasn't anything he could do. He was so scared to go into the streets that he stuck to alleyways.
This went on for a while. He found a few more clothing items, and although he was cold, he was much better. He even found some used bandages and cloth and wrapped them around his feet to keep them warm.
He had accepted this as his new life; it was near spring when he was discovered. He usually went looking for food at night when there was less chance of him being found, but he hadn't eaten anything for two days, so he was starving.
He was searching a dumpster behind a restaurant when the owner found and chased him. He escaped, but the villagers started poisoning the trash, hoping to kill him.
He didn't know it at the time but noticed that whenever he ate from the garbage, he would get sick and throw up, and then he noticed the dead animals near the trashcans. His senses warned him that it must be the food, but there wasn't anything he could do.
He tried eating the dead animals, but it was worse. Then one day, he saw a cat catching and eating a mouse, so he decided to do the same. He tried running after all kinds of animals. He caught a few birds and rats, but it wasn't often enough.
One day when he was exploring, he noticed a cat missing a limb and was so hungry; all he wanted to do was catch and eat the animal. He thought that since it was missing a limb should be a simple task, but the cat was fast.
Before he realized he was in the jungle and lost sight of the cat. It was all for the better since it was the beginning of a new phase for him. He started following the animals in the jungle and learned a lot from them.
He learned about plants that were safe to eat and how to hunt. He mostly ate fish but could catch other animals if lucky. He learned a lot during that year. Before he realized it was wintertime and the food became rare.
He tried finding food, but it was hard. Plus, much of his clothing was destroyed, so he had to return to the village. He was afraid, but there was no other way. At first, he didn't want to eat the food, but when he saw the animals eating from the trash again, he overcame his fear.
This was how he was found. One night he was trying to find food in a shinobi district when an ANBU saw him. He didn't know it at the time but later realized it was Genma or the bear mask. He didn't notice him approaching, and he was already behind him when he did.
Naruto tried to run away, but before he could, he was caught and unconscious after a hit to the neck. When he woke up, he was in a hospital room. He wanted to escape, but he was tied to the bed.
The Sandaime tried to talk with him but had difficulty understanding speech and talking. No one ever spoke to him, and even in the orphanage, he was locked up in the basement alone, so he never learned to talk. In the end, Sandaime had to bring Inoichi to do a mind walk.
He didn't know what was happening, but after a few days, they brought him to what would be his apartment. Since he didn't know how to use anything or communicate with others, an ANBU agent was assigned to take care of him for the next few months.
He was taught how to speak, read, write, and use everyday objects. Everything was new and scary to him. Luckily, he was potty trained in the orphanage and was allowed to use the bathroom, but he always had to return to the basement.
He believed it was only done for their convenience. Cleaning up would be much harder if he couldn't use the bathroom. He was also taught how to wear clothes, but that was about it. It took the ANBU months to get him to a level where he could survive.
He was also taught how to use money and how to buy things. The concept of money was confusing to him. The visits to the ANBU became rarer as time passed and stopped after six months. Naruto tried surviving on his own, but it was hard.
Most villagers refused to sell him items or would overprice them so much that it would be impossible to get by. Naruto still had to use his survival skills and hunt mostly for his food, but this time around, he knew he shouldn't eat raw food and how to prepare his meat.
He wasn't like a wild animal anymore. Just a five-year-old trying to survive. During his explorations of the village, he realized that the shinobi districts were better for him than the civilian ones. Shinobi tended to ignore or glare at him, which was better than getting beaten.
That was how he found his clothing. Shinobi tended to wear clothing faster and would throw away items when they were torn. Naruto would search the trash for things that could be salvaged and would wear them. He didn't care about the holes or stains as long as he was covered.
Another place he visited often was the redlight district. People there didn't care about Naruto and who he was. They were all looked down on by society. Naruto noticed that more food was thrown out there, so whenever he was hungry, he would visit there.
He also learned many skills there. Since they didn't care about who Naruto was, he managed to learn things from them. He would work there, doing small things like delivering small packages and running errands, and in return, they would teach him something.
It wasn't much, but he learned most skills people learn from their parents. He knew how to clean the house and fix some of the stuff. How to sew to repair his clothing and read and write to a better degree.
But he mainly worked on his communication skills. He also learned a bit of math to keep track of his money and how to hide the said money. He also learned some skills he never wants to think about. Overall, it was the place he learned a lot from.
Naruto never got to put those skills to use until later in life, but he was grateful. His mind then brought him to darker thoughts. Civilians were always crueler to him on the days near his birthday.
He would often try not to leave the house on those days. From a week before to a week after it. Still, people tended to go out of their way to hurt him. If he were outside, he would be beaten, and if he stayed home, they would break in and hurt him.
One year when he was around 7, he decided to hide in an abounded building he had found a while back. It was a house on the city's outskirts in a neighborhood destroyed during the Kyubi attack.
The village never fully rebuilt all areas, so it wasn't a rare assurance. Naruto prepared a bag with some necessities for his 2-week trip and went inside the building to hide. He didn't have much on him. Just some old cloth to use as a blanket and keep warm and some food.
He was ok for the first few days. No one knew where he was, and he avoided making noise or lighting fire to avoid detection. It was all until he got discovered by a bunch of shinobi. One of them was a sensor, and since Naruto didn't know how to hide his chakra, they found him.
There were 4 chunin, and at first, they were content with just beating him. But then, one of them decided to use a kunai to carve words into his skin. When they saw how quickly the wound healed to leave nothing behind, their actual experiments began.
They started challenging each other to see who could make a lasting scar. They tried everything from simply making the cut deeper to burning him with hot metal to using acid and anything in between.
They were having fun at his expense. Then one of them had the idea to use chakra in his kunai when cutting him, and the scar finally stayed. They were so happy, so they started doing it more and more.
Soon his whole body was covered in scars. Some were only slashes, but some were craving cruel words like monster, demon, and insults. They decided to go even further when they were tired of the cravings.
Apparently, the only way to cleanse the monster's sin was to serve them. To be used since there was nothing that he was suitable for. Naruto doesn't know how long it went on. To him, it was an eternity. He was thankful that he didn't remember it all.
He remembered the first one when they tied his arms behind his back and bent his knees to tie his ankles to the back of his thighs so that he couldn't resist. Then one of the men picked up his naked body and slammed himself into him.
He remembered screaming and feeling of being ripped apart. A 7-year-old body is not meant to take in an adult, prepared or not. They didn't care for preparations or being gentle. The more he screamed, the more satisfied they were.
It was never ending to him. One after another, they would slam into him, and when they were tired, they would use anything they could find to shove inside him. They wouldn't let him pass out. They would jolt him awake whenever he was about to lose consciousness by slamming harder or shocking him with their chakra.
Naruto couldn't do anything but accept this as his fate. His tears had dried long ago, and his throat was so sore he couldn't make any more noise. All he knew was the never-ending pain and the sound of laughter from the captors.
It all ended so suddenly. He heard some crashing sounds, and an ANBU with a crow masked ripped him out of one of the man's grips. He passed out immediately after that. When he came to, he was in a hospital room and couldn't remember any of this.
