"Hey Goku, I would like to ask something if it is okay with you of course…" said Kale as he was approaching the older Saiyan.
"Sure thing Kale and you don't have to ask for permission just ask, okay?" said Goku with a huge smile on his face.
"Thank you." said Kale and started to bow but suddenly she remembered what Goku had said earlier.
Caulifla was watching the situation and was curious what Kale wanted to ask but she had a guess.
"So I was thinking...if...maybe...well…" started Kale but Goku could see how nervous she was which made him a little worried.
"Kale...relax. Remember, we're basically family so you don't have to be nervous around me." said Goku.
"Yes, I know. So would it be okay if I stayed here on Earth with Caulifla and you?" asked Kale looking at the ground the whole time. Caulifla was surprised she asked Goku about this. Goku's eyes widened.
"What do you mean? It's not like I own the planet or something, you're free to do whatever you'd like to. I'd be happy if you stayed here though because I know how close you and Caulifla are."
"Kale...what's this about? I mean really." asked Caulifla who eavesdropped the whole time.
"It's just...Planet Sadala is just not the same without you. I've seen how happy you're here with Goku and his friends, and I knew the day you left you wouldn't come back to our universe. So I thought I could stay...I mean...if it's all right with you two." answered Kale.
"You kidding, right?" asked Caulifla.
"I'm sorry, Sis. I shouldn't have asked. You already have a beautiful life here, I'd be just in the way." answered Kale who felt a little ashamed. Caulifla walked to her and looked deep in her eyes, just starring for a few seconds and suddenly she hugged Kale.
"It's not that, you silly. I thought you'd never ask. I'd be the happiest person with you and Goku by my side. I'm really glad that you want to stay here." said Caulifla with tears in her eyes. The two girls were hugging each other for minutes. As the Z-fighters were really happy about their team just got another member.
"Okay, that's enough. These morons will think we're weaklings." said Caulifla as she was laughing.
As the Sun went down the Z-fighters had decided they didn't want to go home. Everyone was together, they were laughing and just having the time of their lifes. It was a calm night right before the storm. A storm which could wipe every living being from Earth and probably from the whole universe but at that time nothing mattered. Krilin and Goku were reminiscing about their training with Master Roshi.
"Goku, remember the time when I was waaaaaay stronger than you?" asked Krilin laughing.
"What? No, you've never been stronger than Goku, right?" asked Caulifla.
"Yes, I was although we were just kid back then. I even found a stone way quicker than Goku. Remember that?" asked Krilin smiling at Goku.
"You know it's funny." - started Goku as he was looking at the sky – "Cause I don't remember any of those."
"You're kidding, right? I think you've got too many hits on your head, old friend." said Krilin laughing.
"No, no...I mean...I do remember our training but...somehow I don't recall anytime you were stronger or faster than me. I remember the stone though...how you cheated." said Goku looking at his childhood friend with a huge smile.
"Oh, so you were a cheater." said Caulifla mockingly.
"It wasn't really like that." said Krilin with a sweat drop on his head while everyone was laughing.
As everybody was having the time of their life the Sun started to go down they built a small campfire. Goku caught a huge fish which they cooked and had dinner together as a big family. Suddenly Goku stood up:
"Hey, I have an idea!" started Goku and started walking a little far from his friends.
"Oh Kami...what is he up to this time?" asked Caulifla as she burried her face in his palms.
"Look, he's drawing...lines?" said Tien.
"Oh no…" continued Gohan.
"We all know where this will go, right?" asked Krilin nervously.
"I think we do…" continued Yamcha.
"Okay guys, I'm ready! Come here all of you!" said Goku waving toward his friends.
As the warriors approached him they saw a perfect lines and they all know it was a ring. A ring just like in the tournaments.
"So, I was thinking…" started Goku.
"First time for everything so it seems." said Caulifla.
"...as I was saying" continued Goku, "we should do a little sparring before these guys come and try to wreck our planet. Don't think about is an exam or anything just a little fun."
"Goku...sparring is just fun for you, you know that, right?" asked Piccolo smiling.
"Well that's not true, Piccolo. Caulifla just loves it as much as I do." said Goku.
"Don't forget about us, Kakarot." said a familiar sound from a distance.
"I was wondering when you two show up. I was starting to think that you guys are not coming or worse...you're afraid." said Caulifla smirking.
"Kakarot, put a leash on your mate, okay?" said Vegeta.
"EXCUSE ME?!" shouted Caulifla as she went Super Saiyan 2.
"Okay, everybody just calm down, we're here to have fun." said Gohan as he was trying to defuse a ticking a bomb.
"Right. So as I was saying I was thinking," started Goku.
"First time for everything so it seems." said Vegeta as he was landing in front of Goku.
"Too late, PRINCESS. I already said that joke." said Caulifla as she went back to her base from.
"I don't why everybody says that...so...how about a little sparring? A little warm up etc." said Goku.
"We're in. I would love to see as my pupil mops up the floor with your pupil, Kakarot. Isn't that right, Cabba?" said Vegeta proudly.
"Uhm...yes...of course, Master." said Cabba with a little hesitation in his voice which caught the attention of everyone. He didn't same as sure as Vegeta about that statement, he became stronger, obviously, but was he stronger than Caulifla?
"Please...Cabba has never been stronger than me. And after I trained under Goku? Yes, pun intended. There's no way he could put up a good fight against me." said Caulifla.
"Hmph...the nerves…" ,said Vegeta angrily, "all right, Kakarot, we're in. After this we'll go the Time Chamber and spend a day in there with the boy and WE'LL be the ones who kill that shame. Get it?"
"What? Sorry, I was busy thinking about how we should do this tournament." said Goku as Vegeta's head turned scarlet and almost blew up from the anger.
"Okay, so...we write our names on a piece of paper. We put those papers in Mr. Piccolo's hat and I pull out the papers one by one. The rules are: you can't step out of the ring and if you can't stand up you lose." said Gohan as he took Piccolo's hat who didn't take too kindly this.
"Hey! What about us?" said a familiar female voice.
"C18? What are you doing here? And C17? You too?" asked Krilin.
"Mother, Tarble...what are you doing here?" asked Vegeta from his relatives who were right next to the two androids.
"We were looking for you." said Klee.
"You don't think we would be left out from a tournament, right?" said C17.
"All right, everyone's here. Let's see who gets who." said Gohan.
"First match: Vegeta vs. Yamcha!" said Gohan.
"Oh no...please...no…" said Yamcha who was shaking. Vegeta was just standing there like nothing had happened, of course in his mind that was the truth, he knew that Yamcha wasn't a threat.
"Second match: Dad vs Klee!" said Gohan.
"Don't hold back, Klee!" said Goku with a smile on his face.
"Neither do you, Goku!" answered Klee with a less honest smile on her face.
"Third march: Caulifla vs me! ME?! Oh snap…" said Gohan with a sweat drop on his forehead.
"It's okay, Gohan, you fought well!" shouted Caulifla like she had already won the match.
"Fourth match: Krilin vs. Tarble!" read Gohan the papers but nobody said anything, the only nose was the wind rustling the leafs.
"Okay then…", said Gohan as he cleared his throat, "fifth match: Mr. Piccolo vs Trunks!"
"Awesome, finally some sparring with Piccolo!" said Trunks who was honestly excited.
"Sixth match: C18 vs Kale!" shouted Gohan. The two women were looking at each other but neither of them said anything.
"Seventh match: Cabba vs Goten!" said Gohan.
"Huh...that's gonna be interesting." said Goku
"And finally, the eighth match: C17 vs Tien!" shouted Gohan as he gave back the hat to Piccolo.
"We'll start at dawn. Let's get some sleep before this" said Goku.
