"So... after we ran away from the foster home you ended up meeting this guy named Lincoln."said Luz, as Jaune was currently retelling her on what he told his mother about what happened to him the last several years of his life.
"Yeah, he was apparently special forces in Vietnam who lived in New Bordeaux. He wouldn't tell me more than that as he was a very private man. But I later found out that he kind of went on a one-man war against the mafia, specifically New Bordeaux crime Boss, Sal Marcano."said Jaune, as Luz couldn't believe what she was hearing.
"Wow, if he was special forces I feel sorry for the mafia."said Luz, as she felt like it was a case of messing with the wrong person.
"Yeah, and after he was done he could have controlled the city with the Commission's permission. But he chose to leave it all behind and go a drift to see where he truly belonged. He saved my life, Luz, and no matter what he did or may have done I still consider him the closest thing I had to a father figure."said Jaune, before quickly covering his mouth as he knew that the subject of fathers was a touchy subject for Luz.

"It's okay. Anyway what do you plan to do next?"asked Luz, wondering what her childhood friend was planning to do from here on out.
"Well I was planning on joining the French Foreign Legion since they don't ask too many questions about your background. Plus I've always kind of felt like I was a French citizen in heart so a few years of service in exchange for French citizenship would have been worth it in my opinion."said Jaune, as he was planning to head off to France to sign up for the legion before this whole Boiling Isles mumbo jumbo started.
"Wow, well maybe you came here to look for me for a reason."said Luz, who always believed that Fate worked in mysterious ways
"Hey, are you two going to stop catching up and watch what I'm doing."said Eda, causing Luz and Jaune to look over her.
"Sorry, Eda."said Luz apologetically.
"Now watch closely, you two. Hexes Hold'em is the most tricky game on the Boiling Isles. Any proper witch knows how to play."said Eda with confidence.
"Oh boy, cards. The paper rectangle things that old people think are fun."said Luz, as Jaune wondered if Luz noticed the accidentally insulted her mentor.
But as Luz said that, Eda put a card down in all the cards came to life and looked like they were going to face each other for battle!
"Now when it looks like the deck is stacked against you, that's when you break out, the wild card."said Eda, as she pulled out the card in question, causing Owbert's cards to burn and form the words, WINNER EDA!
"Woah! I Win! In your adorable owl face!"said Eda to Owbert.
"Ah, I love the feeling of victory. It feels... fluffy."said Eda, as feathers started to appear on her shoulders.
"Ah, Eda, it's happening again."said Luz with worry.
"What's happening again?"asked Jaune, wondering why feathers were appearing on Eda.
"Her curses returning!"pointed out King.
"Ah!"said Eda, upon noticing the feathers on her arms.
"Okay, explain!"demanded Jaune as he pulled out Lincoln's knife.
"Woah! Easy there, Soldier Boy! I have the solution to this problem in my room."said Eda, motioning for everyone to follow her.
"So, Eda is known as the owl lady because of a curse she has had since she was a little girl. It turns her into a monster if she doesn't drink a special elixir every so often."said Luz, as Jaune besides to keep his knife at the ready in case anything went wrong.
Meanwhile Eda, King, Luz, and Jaune entered Eda's bedroom and headed to would look like a trunk.
Eda open the trunk and saw that there was no elixir inside.
"Oh, boy."said Eda, as all the elixir bottles were empty."This is terrible, I'm out of elixir."
"Um, last time this happened, you turned into this thing."said Luz as she held out her phone to show Eda and her owl beast form.
"I know I should be repulsed, but that look is fierce."said Eda, who think she looks good in pretty much everything.
"Eda."said Luz with worry.
"Your right, your right. We need to head to the market."said Eda, as it was only at the market where they could get more elixir.
"Market!"shouted Luz with excitement.
"I'm going to steal everything that is not nailed down."declared King.
"I do we need to stock up on supplies."said Jaune, as he was running out of his energy bars.
"Before we you, would anyone like to play another hand of Hexes Hold'em."said Eda, before realizing she didn't have her cards on her."Hey! Where are my cards?"
Jaune meanwhile look behind his childhood friend and saw that she was the one who took the cards.
"Take these and fly ahead, she'll have to follow us."said Luz as Owbert took the cards and flew ahead.
Owlbert, you sore loser. Give me back my cards."said Eda as she chased after Owbert.

"Hey, open up Morton."said Eda, who was standing in front of a shop that said Mr Elixir!
"Um, just a minute."said the shop owner.
"Is there anything better than people watching in the demon realm."said Luz, as an egg rolled in front of a bus stop, cracked open to release a baby chick, and everyone waiting at the stop got inside the egg, then told the egg up to roll it again as a girl who was mostly nose was telling them to wait?
"The curse of tiny legs."said Luz, as Jaune decided to respond to his friends earlier question.
"Literally anything else."said Jaune, as even by his standards of a drifter, what he had just seen was disturbing.
"Oh, you."said Luz as she playfully punched Jaune's arm, only to end up rubbing her knuckles a few seconds later."Wow, your muscles are as hard as a rock."
"Thanks."said Jaune, as King wondered what was this awkward atmosphere between the two of them.
"You two are wierd."said King, which Jaune found funny from the dog thing that had horns on its head, with one chipped.
Then I don't know where a giant monstrous man who's left I was covered by an eye patch came by, scaring the nose girls away. The man was wearing what could be described as fantasy wear with a giant sword on his back.
He also appear to be Company by several other individuals wearing similar clothing, only they were pushing a car with some kind of giant caterpillar like monster with horns tied on it.
"Who's that?"asked Jaune, getting a bad vibe from the guy and his cohorts.
"That is one ominous parade."said Luz, as Eda turned around to look at who the two humans were staring at.
"That's no parade. Those a demon hunters."responded Eda, as the caterpillar demon tried to break free.
"Dangerous nomads who hunt and sell the most powerful beasts."said Eda, at the Demon Hunter with the eye patch cast a spell of electricity on the caterpillar demon, knocking it out.
Jaune notice the guy then glare at them and he glared back.
"Which I'm about to become if you don't open up, Morton."said Eda, losing patience with the shop owner.
"Sorry, Eda, I was up all night poison testing. And for some reason, I don't feel great."said Morton as he finally opened shop.
"I wonder why."said Jaune with sarcasm, wondering why anyone would purposely taste poison, even if they were selling it.
"I'm all out of my juice, pal."said Eda, handing Morton an empty elixir bottle.
"Oh, dear. Let let me see what I can do."said Morten as he bent down to look for stuff.
"That is when Luz notice Willow and Gus walking through the streets.
"Willow and Gus."sajd Luz as she ran towards her friends.
"Hey friends, let me introduce you to my childhood friend, Jaune Arc."said Luz, realizing that neither her friends know her childhood friend had been properly introduced to one another.
"Hey."saiD Willow and Gus weakly.
"Hey, what's wrong? Who hurt my babies?"asked Luz, wondering who hurt her friends to make them so glum.
"I'm guessing them."said Jaune, pointing over to Amity and her friends.
"Amity is having a moonlight conjuring and invited everyone but me."said Willow with her head down.
"She keeps gloating about it on her Penstagram account."said Gus, summoning a scroll to show everyone Amity's account.
"Show offs."said Jaune, not impressed one bit.
"It's conjuring night! No dorks allowed."said Luz, reading what Amity posted."What a jerk!"
"What's a moonlight conjuring?"asked Luz, wondering what the heck that was.
"You spend the night at someone's house. Telling stories, playing games."said Willow with a smile.
"Like a slumber party. We have those."said Luz.
""You bring something to life with Moon magic!"said Willow, showing off a book that showed the process of using Moon magic.
"Like a weird slumber party."said Luz, trying to save face.
"Gus and I have never been to one. You need at least three people.."said Willow, before Luz interrupted her.
"I'm three people. I mean we're at least three people. And we're way better than them."said Luz, as Amity and her friends walked by.
"Sorry you couldn't get an invite to the conjuring, Willow. Only real witches allowed."said Boscha, the girl with three eyes.
"Leave her alone. It's not her fault she was born without talent."said Amity, as she and all of her friends began to walk away.
Willow meanwhile clenched her fists as she accidentally conjured plant magic and made several vines appear.
"Woah!"said Luz, slapping one of the vines and making it go back into the ground.
"Don't waste your time getting thorny over that. Because we are going to have our own moonlight conjuring."said Luz, wanting to show Amity and her friends not to mess with her friends.
"Are you serious? This is on my bucket list."said Gus as he pulled out his bucket list, which had some weird things on it..."After owning a real human bucket."
"What?"said Jaune, as that made no sense.
"That's a really weird thing to want but I enjoy your enthusiasm."said Luz honestly.
"I'll go tell Eda."said Luz, running back to the owl lady.
"This can only happen in one way."said Jaune, who had a feeling things were not going to go his friends way as they usually don't with her luck...
Meanwhile with Morton and Eda..
"I've got bad news and good news. The bad news is I'm all out until next week."said Morton nervously.
"The good news is that feathers are a good look for you."said Morton, hoping to avoid the owl lady's wrath.
"Morton!"said Eda angrily.
"Well, geez. Why did you wait to refill up until now?"asked Morton, as anyone else would have refilled before running out.
"I've been very busy."said Eda in her own defense.
"Yeah, busy playing Hexas Hold'em. She's obsessed with it."said King.
"I am not obsessed."argued Eda.
"Your playing it right now."pointed out King.
"Am I winning?"asked Eda, who somehow started playing Hexas hold'em with Morton.
"You know, I wouldn't suggest this to just anybody. But if you need your elixir, you can try your luck later this evening."said Morton ominously.
"In the night market?"said Eda with worry.
"There's a guy with a stand. Goes by Grimm Hammer. If anyone has what you need, it's him."whispered Morton carefully.
"Eda. Willow, Gus, Jaune, and I are going to do a moonlight conjuring and stick it to Amity. Can we-."said Luz, before she was interrupted.
"Not tonight, I'm going out. I need you to watch the house, there are many precious objects in there."said Eda as she walked over the King.
"Like me."said King as he pointed to himself, before Eda picked him up.
"Your coming with me. I need an extra pair of eyes to look out for pickpockets, and an extra pair of hands in case I want to pick packet."said Eda, before both she and King shouted pickpocket.
"Then, maybe they can come to the house and-."said Luz, before she was once again interrupted.
"No! Besides conjurings are dumb. Sitting in a circle, holding hands, its like magic for babies."said Eda dismissingly.
"But.."said Luz, not sure what to do next.
"Luz! What did Eda say?"asked Willow, as she and Gus ran over to her and Jaune.
"So...guys..."said Luz, before Gus pointed to the Moon.
"The Moon's rising into place, and the celestial powers only aligned once a year."said Gus, as he and Willow looked at the Moon.
"Oh, I can't believe I finally have enough friends for a moon like conjuring. Thank you, Luz"said Willow with excitement."Did Eda say it was okay."
"Uh...yes, she said yes. We can have it at the owl house. As long as we don't make a mess, or touch anything, or bringing up that we did it."said Luz, as Jaune just slapped himself in the face that she couldn't believe she had just brought him and her into a whole big mess just because she couldn't tell her friends the truth.
"Yes! Oh, you're the best!"said Willow and Gus.
"We're going to do a conjuring! We're going to do a conjuring! We're going to do a conjuring!"said Willow and Gus, as Luz and Jaune looked at the Moon.
Both knowing that this will be a lot of trouble to pull off!
