"Kev! I need a meeting with the owners and that douche that intentionally hit me! I know why it happened! I want a face to face! And now!" Adam yelled in to the phone. "Dawg! What the hell is going on?" Kevin was straight up confused. "It's Nicole! My ex! She is dating that douche so he hit me! She admitted it to Kim and her team. I need the owners to know what he did and why!" Adam yelled. He was completely pissed off. He wanted justice for his family. "I will get that meeting! Might be a zoom meeting but we will get it done!" Kevin says in defeat. He knew he wasn't changing Adams mind on this.
30 minutes later Adam got his meeting, not face to face but for short notice this would have to work. They got on Zoom for the meeting and Adam was pumped to fix this this situation. "Okay I have no idea why we are here?" The white Sox's owner states frustrated and annoyed. "Well we are here because Adam Ruzek has requested to talk to the man who caused his injury. He claims he knows why it happened and thinks its key to the looming decision about punishment. Adam the floor is yours." The cubs owner speaks.
"Thank you. The reason we are here is because this guy is dating a women named Nicole. She is my ex from over a decade ago. While he was discussing having to face an arrogant prick named Adam Ruzek she admitted we dated. It's been brought to my attention that Nicole admitted to this and also admitted that she thought he was just going to hit me in the arm or my leg. Not the chest! This is all because of some stupid jealously! Nicole is nothing to me and hadn't been for a long time. This shit ends here and now. "Adam how did you get this information?" The cubs owner asks. "Nicole's home was broken into today. The police that arrived on the scene was my fiancé and her team. Nicole was confronted after a photo was found of Nicole and this douche. She admitted the whole thing." Adam was completely worked up and just hoped Lily slept through the entire meeting. "Well thank you for the information. I'm not sure it changes anything since we already knew it was intentional but the punishment will be more suited to the crime including paying for your medical bills. We will let you know when we made our decision." The owners concluded
Lily woke as soon as the call was over. Adam walked to her swing to pick her up. "Hey baby girl! Are you hungry? Do you need a diaper change? Did daddy's anger wake you up?" Adam cooed as he worked to change her and get her fed. "Daddy's sorry if he woke you. He didn't mean it. He rocked her after her feeding although she stayed awake. So he took her outside and showed her the trees and the flowers. He put her next to the dog and put her hands on Champs fur. When her belly settled more they did tummy time. For such a bad couple of hours he was certainly loving the time right now.
He watched as she tried move and to keep her head up. He watched as she attempted to play with her toys. He made a video for Kim to brighten her day. He sent if off before going to let the dog back inside. Champ walked right over to Lily and licked her face before laying next to her. It was adorable. Adam decided to post the adorable photo on social media with a heart over her face. They always said the kids faces would not be shown on social media so this was a way to prevent it. The photo got thousands of likes and comments even if they couldn't see face.
By the time 3pm rolled around Adam was excited to see how the kids day had gone. He packed Lily into the car and headed over towards the school. He was early but he wanted to make sure he wasn't late. He was hoping to avoid a lot of the other parents who would be present for pick up time. He didn't want to socialize he just wanted to see the kids and hear about their days. He put Lily in the stroller and walked over to the pick up line. He caught up on texts while he waiting slowly rolling the stroller back and forth to keep Lily happy.
He saw Emma first. He was thrilled that she had a smile on her face. She looked like she had had a good day. "Hey sweetie! How was your day? Did you have fun?" Adam asked as he bent down to pick her up and hug her. "Yes it was so much fun! And I knew so much already. We got to color and play with clay. It was the best!" Her voice was loud and full of excitement. Adam hugged her tighter so proud of her. "Well that's great! Let's wait for Jackson Okay?" Adam says as he placed her down so she could say hi to Lily.
When Jackson came out next Her was running so fast Adam was afraid he would fall. "Slow down buddy! I'm not going anywhere!" Adam called out just as Jackson slammed into Adams awaiting arms. "Daddy! It was so much fun!" Jackson yelled as he hugged Adam tight. Adam laughed as he picked him up. "Well I'm glad you had fun. Your sister did too. How about we get some ice cream before we head home?" He asked as the kids cheered. They had great days and now ice cream. It was the best day ever!
Adam got all the kids settled into the car he was happy and relieved that they had a good day. He didn't even let the other moms ogling him and taking photos distract him having fun with the kids. They spent the whole car ride talking about their days. From the playground, to art and crafts to their new friends. Adam enjoyed every moment and tried to make memories of it all so he could tell Kim all about it. They got to the ice cream parlor, the kids cheered!
Adam got the kids out of the car and they headed into the store. They picked out their favorite flavors, they each got a cup with one scoop each. Adam paid for the ice cream and set the kids up at a table for them to sit and eat at. He noticed someone was watching them from across the street. He was relaxed about it only because it was his dad. He kept his attention on his kids. They were the only thing that was important in the moment. They all laughed, they told stories and had a good time while enjoying the ice cream. When it was finished Adam washed their faces and hands with baby wipes.
They left the store and headed towards the car. He got the kids settled into the car before he started to get in himself when he heard his name being called. "Adam! My boy!" Robert called out. "Pops. What's up?" Adam asked not being overly friendly. "Just wanted to talk and catch up. We haven't talked in awhile." Robert admitted. "Well you don't approve of my life and kids so I don't have much to say. We can catch up one day but my kids are in the car so today's not happening. I will call you." Adam got in the car and closed the door. He started the car and left. He wasn't ready to talk to his dad and even if he was, he wouldn't with the kids in the car.
They got home and the kids ran inside to play with the dog as a Adam cleaned out their back packs and lunch boxes. When he was done he joined the kids in the living room. They were playing with a ball and the dog, rolling the ball between them as Champ chased it. "Let's take this game outside guys." Adam opened the door for them to go through and then he lifted the swing Lily was in to bring outside as well. Adam made sure the swing was shaded so she wouldn't get too hot or get sunburn. It also allowed him to keep an eye on her while they played outside.
Kim arrived home to an empty house. The car was in the garage so they had to be here. She heard screaming outside and realize they were playing outdoors. She loved that the kids liked being outside and that Adam encourages it. She watched from the door way for a bit before letting her presence known. "Well hello! Looks like you guys have had a great day. Come give me hugs!" Kim called out. The kids ran to get hugs from her. She loved coming home to this. "How about we start dinner and then you guys can tell me all about your days?" Kim was so excited to hear all about it. "Yay!" The kids screamed.

My teacher was really nice too." Emma was very excited about school after today. She couldn't wait for tomorrow. "That's great sweetie! I'm so proud of you for giving school a real chance." Kim says as she continues. Emma was beaming with pride.
Jackson was up next. "Okay buddy how was your day?" Kim asked Jackson. He had sat quietly waiting his turn. "It was great! I got to play on the jungle gym and I got to color a turtle and we learned about colors. Some of the kids even live close by. So maybe we can have them over soon." "Baby whatever you decide to do I will support you. Just like with my family, you support my decision. For now I think it's the absolute right decision for you and for us. I love you no matter you decide." Kim nuzzled into him more kissing his neck. "Thank you for supporting me either way. I couldn't do this with out your support. I don't know how I made it this long in my life and career without you in it. I feel more fulfilled and successful now that I have you and our kids." Adam kissed the side of her head as the snuggled.
They stayed snuggled into each other not speaking just existing. They both have the ability to calm each other with just a small touch. They needed the calming presence right now.
