A/n: despite the obvious torture I had a little fun with this chapter. Liv gets a little involved with one of the videos. Also, the song she's singing is 'Lost in Paradice' by Evanescence from their 2011 album Evanescence. Please enjoy.

As if there wasn't enough to fear about the Rook Islands, Liv watched in utter disgust as a spider crawled across the sand towards Chris, unbeknownst to him or Vaas, who was rummaging around in a wooden crate that he lugged down from the Scavenger. She kept her eye on the spider as her thoughts drifted onto the theme of today's episode: love.

She had no idea what to expect. Her fingers tinkered with the keychain on her belt loop in boredom as she waited; the camera was charged, thanks to Vaas, and set to record, resting on the DIY tripod.

"Let's go! Start the recorder!" Vaas shouted, turning to smack his hands together; sand flew from his hands in protest.

Liv sat on her knees and leaned over to press the record button. As she glanced up she noticed the spider had crawled onto Chris' cheek; the latter noticed it and began to squirm in fear.

"What is–– Oh God! Oh, God!"

"What is it?" Vaas asked, rushing over.

By the time he made it to Chris, the spider was resting on his nose; Liv shivered in revulsion. She would have gotten it, if not for the fact she hated the creatures just about as much as she hated snakes.

"There's a spider on my nose," Chris answered in a panic. "Get it off my nose. Please, please, please."

Vaas kneeled and picked up the spider with ease, tossing it into the sand away from Chris.

"Thank you," the latter uttered in relief.

"You're welcome."

Vaas ran off-screen and back over to the crate, taking something large out of it. What the fuck was it? Liv raised a brow. The object appeared to be a vehicle battery with red and black Jumper Cables wrapped around it. And on the end were a pair of electrode rods. Was he––

Liv gasped in surprise. She understood now. Was he insane? There was no way to prevent herself from feeling guilt on this one; she was the one who compared love to an electric shock.

"Have you ever been in love, Chris?" Vaas asked.

Chris hummed in question and did his best to look up as Vaas as the man in red sat the battery onto the sand. His eyes widened in fear as he figured out what Vaas was doing.

"What's that? Okay, okay, okay. I get it. I get it. Bring back the spider that's cool with me man. Please," Chris pleaded in a panicked tone.

But Vaas ignored him, muttering to himself the correct way to attach the cables.

Liv covered her mouth. What was she to do? There was no reasoning with him.

"Please no. Please."

Vaas turned his eyes to her, then returned to his task.

"And that mi amigos (my friends) is my camera operator Olivia who is being unprofessional. Silence on set, right Chris?"

Tears filled her eyes. She couldn't watch Vaas do this to him. Liv shut her eyes and put her hands over her ears. However, even with her hearing quelled, she could still hear Chris scream in pain as the sound of electricity tore through the air. It wasn't enough.

"All the promises I made. Just to let you down," Liv began to sing beneath her breath. She wanted to reach down and clutch her keychain, but she didn't want to remove her hand. "You believed in me but I'm broken..."

"OLIVIA!"

Liv dared to open her eyes, seeing Chris with his eyes closed; Vaas stared at her in shock. Was he––

A sob broke from her lips.

"No. No, no, no."

She watched in horror as Vaas shocked him once with the rods. Chris jerked, but he didn't open his eyes. Again he was shocked, then on the third round, the actor gasped and opened them, darting them around in confusion. Liv was relieved.

"Fuck!" Vaas shouted. "You scared the fuck out of us, you piece of shit. Fucking asshole." He paused to yank the cables from the battery.

"No more fucking battery electricity for you," he added.

Liv wasn't sure if he was concerned, but he seemed upset that Chris almost died. It was strange. Either he was a good actor, or Vaas had some humanity in him; she wasn't sold on the latter.

"You cannot fucking die. We have five more episodes, you fucking–– Or maybe three... I don't know what the fuck," Vaas explained as he stood, motioning towards the camera.

"Kill me," Chris uttered. He was still in shock.

Vaas leaned down, clutching the battery.

"You want water? Mangoes? Bananas?"

"Yes," Chris answered.

Vaas raised a brow.

"Yes, what?"

Chris groaned, saying that he wanted all of them.

"Okay, I'll be back," Vaas mentioned, taking the battery back over to the crate.

He tossed it inside, then picked the crate up and lugged it across the beach towards the Scavenger. Were they done? Liv went to turn the camera off, but Vaas stopped her.

"Keep it going. And go over there and talk to him or something... Just stop fucking crying."

Liv waited for him to walk away before she got up and walked over to Chris. She was aware that Carlos had a gun pointed at her, so she leaned down close.

"I don't feel good," Chris uttered.

"I know... I'm so sorry. I-I can't do anything; I can't even find Barry," Liv retorted with a sob. "Please hang on. Please."

Chris stared at her weakly.

"You look rough."

"Not as bad as you," Liv uttered with a snort.

She was aware that her face was bruised; her lip had a cut on it, but she had no idea how bad she looked.

"You gotta run; save yourself," Chris suggested.

Was he asking her to leave him? Liv shook her head furiously.

"No. No, I won't run. I have to try and––"

"Break times over!" Vaas suddenly shouted as he walked down to the beach. In his hand was a fish bowl with something moving in it.

Liv narrowed her eyes, but upon realizing what it was, she leaped up and backed away from Vaas.

"You don't like it?" He asked as he motioned towards the three giant spiders inside the bowl. "I found them for you."

For her? Liv tightened her jaw. Fuck no.

"Thank you, but I... don't like them, or snakes for that matter."

Vaas put his hand over his heart.

"That's a shame, querida (darling). I guess you're not in this skit. Go back to the camera."

Liv was reluctant about leaving Chris alone with him, but she hesitantly walked over to the camera and sat down, wiping away her tears. Chris called out for someone, but Vaas stayed quiet and casually walked over to him with the bowl.

"Do you have my fucking water?" He asked.

"Ah, fuck. I forgot the water," Vaas replied. Chris groaned in protest, but the man in the red shirt ignored him. "I'll get it next time, okay."

He sat down behind the actor with his legs extended in the shape of a V and held the bowl over his head.

"Open your mouth," Vaas ordered. "Don't move."

Did Chris not see the spiders? He shut his eyes and opened his mouth as if he was about to take a drink. Liv was horrified.

"Be very careful. I don't want you to hurt yourself," Vaas muttered as he put the bowl over Chris' head; he was careful not to crush his nose as he pressed the edge against the sand.

The spiders immediately began to crawl on his face.

"Olivia, come here," Vaas ordered.

Liv shook her head in protest. Was he insane? She was not about to walk near those things, glass bowl or not.

"Come the fuck here. You have to face your fear sometime," Vaas ordered. He pointed down. "Look at Chris... He's doing it."

No, he wasn't. He was shouting in fear. Could she not just stay near the camera as he told her to? Liv took an uneasy breath and walked over to them. Vaas slid back and used one hand to hold the bowl; the other he used to gesture her closer, patting the sand between his legs.

"Sit down."

Liv raised a brow. Where? Between his legs? Her face heated up. She hesitantly kneeled and sat between him and the bowl. The spiders were much larger up close.

"I can't do-"

Vaas slid his arms around her and grabbed her wrists, making her pound the bowl with her palms like a drum. His warm breath tickled her skin as he snorted; she shuddered.

"It's like 'Ghost', no?"

No, it wasn't.

He rested his hands on hers and beat them against the glass. Liv sat there tense and frozen.

"Relax. Get lost in the rhythm. The jungle is your fucking music," Vaas uttered. His voice in her ear brought goosebumps to her skin. Releasing her hands, Vaas raised his arms doing the wave.

To satisfy him, Liv continued to tap the glass, albeit more gently. Chris' screams were getting louder making her heart erratic, but Vaas didn't seem to care. He was lost in his head.

She had enough.

Raising her shaky hands, Vaas grinned.

"That's a wrap."

Liv quickly got up and walked over to the camera to stop the recording. She took an uneasy breath and scratched at her arms which were still littered with goosebumps. What the fuck was wrong with her? She blamed it on the sun... and perhaps her hormones.

Whatever the case, her skin stung. It was almost like her nerves had been electrocuted. She was appalled by herself. And also aroused.

You're insane.
