This one took me some time to make because by this point I was just going off of the top of my head. Especially since I'm drawing both franchises together.
Also The Following is a Fanfiction Crossover made by my non-profit ass: For Honor is licensed and owned by Ubisoft, and GATE is owned by Takumi Yanai, AlphaPolis, Satoru Sao, Sentai Filmworks and probably by more names as well.
I brought out so many fantasy references for this one. Probably no battle sequence for this one.
Also, how accurate to military operations would you like me to keep it... I'm currently keeping things vague and kinda inaccurate for reasons that might be offensive to some? Specifically to those who serve, as if someone from any armed forces unit watches and reads my stuff.
[Alnus Hill]
Kōichirō Hazama is the Lieutenant General of the JSDF and the commander of Special Task Force. He is also one of Yōji Itami's acquaintances, and is either thanking the soldier or condemning the young man for his passionate and reckless actions. Now he was waiting to hear from one of his subordinates about how the progress on their mission went.
One of his staff personnel in charge of communications entered the room with an electronic tablet with the latest mission briefing. After entering the room he saluted the higher ranking officer to get his attention, "Lieutenant General."
"At ease. Have we been able to establish contact with the 1st Recon Unit?" Kōichirō questioned as he stayed at his desk.
The subordinate spoke clear nd loud enough to be heard, "Yes sir, it appears the unit was attacked by several anti-air weapons and airborne enemy units. They crashed and survived with only the pilots injured. From what we were able to comprehend the 1st Recon Team headed to Ashfield where they are currently being treated as guest to the Lord."
"Do we have any information on Ashfield or who controls it?"
"Yes sir, Princess Piña has given us as much information as she could. Including who exactly governs the area, a Warden she stated."
"Do you believe we would be able to send them supplies and a fresh pair of troops?"
"Unclear until we hear back from them." The young lower ranking man stated.
Now they just needed to hear back from them.
[Ashfield]
The gates opened up to see a well supplied market place where so many people of different origin, race, species traded with each other. No one looked excluded from any of the events, all seemed to be welcomed and accepted and having a good trade. When they saw the newcomers, they spoke in the local language trying to entice the newcomers. Bargaining, bartering and bantering immediately overwhelmed the Men in Green.
The Warden stood with them as they past through the market place, and saw the same sight as many had seen before. The view of elven people, dwarves, beastmen, halfings several different races accepted into their land. Given how the rest of the world treats those who weren't fully human. This seemed to be a welcoming community for all, as Itami kept looking left and right to see smiling faces.
The Warden looked back and eased his new ally down, "Please, you need not worry. I doubt that anyone here wishes to do you harm. You are among friends."
"Sorry it's just... in the Capital we just got back from their are a lot more demi-humans happier here." Itami noted.
"I would be lying if I said that it was always like this. Before the Iron Legion took complete control there was a group called the Blackstone Legion. Their methods and motivations we're twisted and insane. Their main goal and desire, was war." The Warden explained as if the events in his head played yesterday, "But now we use our strength to keep peace and defend the weak, as is my oath. Everyone here is free of tyranny, discrimination, hate... this is a place where those who were wronged may start over."
Rory began feeling pleased as his intentions were true and noble, almost earning her signature moans that made those who didn't know her true age uncomfortable. Luckily Itami stepped forward, "That sure is a relief that you have a good heart in you."
"I believe it takes one to know one, my friend." The Warden spoke before one of his officers approached him and whispered in his ear, "I'm afraid I must depart. But please, feel free to enjoy yourselves. You have earned your place among our people today, enjoy your stay."
With that the Warden took off to go take care of the matter that required his presence, leaving Itami to speak to his troop, "Okay, so now would be a good time to spread out and check out everything. Kuribayashi, you okay taking a few people to check out with the locals if they seen or heard of Empire activity in this area?"
"On it boss, Nishina, Sasagawa and Kurokawa, you all okay coming with me to explore within these walls?" The close combat specialist asked.
"Yes, Sergeant." They replied as they began their march to the various places and shops the place has to offer.
Itami looked back to the remaining members, "I wanna see if we can talk to the Warden so, would mind hanging here for a minute old school and see if we can get an appointment?"
"Of course, Tomita, Kurata with me." The old man ordered the tall male and the second otaku.
"The rest of you see if we have anything from the helicopter that we can use to communicate back to HQ and ask for a pickup." Itami ordered as everyone replied the same as the went to leave, "Not you, Ramirez. You mind walking with me?"
"Lieutenant? Yes, Lieutenant." Ramirez replied.
"Don't take it the wrong way but, I'm kinda multitasking right now. Getting to know you and ensure that you're a witness in case Rory tries anything." Itami admitted as they started to walk away with Itami's entourage of women.
Ramirez was smarter than he seemed, "I don't suppose you only brought me here to have a conversation?"
"Guilty as charged. I wanted to get to know you, make sure we can really trust you. Because back in Japan we were attacked by The US, Russia and China. So I just wanted to make sure we could truly trust you." Itami stared him down as Ramirez looked out in the distance to see a beautiful untouched view of the landscape.
Ramirez smiled despite being faced with the inevitable threat of death if he answered wrong, "Lieutenant, I wasn't told of that. That doesn't surprise me though, especially from the last president. Greedy bastard, our new commander in chief wants to make amends. Me, I'm here because I was told of everything you have been through and hope I get a taste of adventure."
"So what made you join the Navy?" Itami asked.
Ramirez lugged the large light machine gun over his shoulder, "I joined for several reasons, escape from a unfulfilling life, help my family with the benefits, maybe even get some points in dating."
"C'mon what's the real reason?"
"The REAL reason? I played so many video games where a hero goes on a journey with his party to some realm. I was just tired of imagining myself as that person that I wanted to be that person for real. Be the hero for real." Ramirez admitted.
Itami smiled as he knew that was the truth, "Real hero origin story huh?"
"Yeah, good thing I chose Builder Unit. Helped with a lot of natural disasters, defended many buildings, visited several more places then I ever would have otherwise."
"Well, for what it's worth I'm glad to have you on the team." Itami extended his hand.
"Thank you." Ramirez accepted it along with a smile.
[Kuribayashi and Her Group]
The four of them walked down the road until they took two different directions, the two men of the group went down the market area. While the two women went down to the other side to what looked like an outdoor dining area. There were knights, citizens, barkeeps and barmaids of all sizes, shapes, races, etc. The fact no one was excluded and everything was diverse was such a relief from the slums back at the capital. They were all drinking, eating and just enjoying their time together.
As Kuribayashi and Kurokawa examined the room they noticed the large body of the Conqueror they had met from earlier drinking at the bar. His helmet still on as he tilted his head back to ensure his drink wouldn't spill. Despite being so goofy and clumsy at times he was still a force of nature to be feared.
Some members of the bar became silent as murmurs filled the air, after all these weren't your typical newcomers. The deafening silence forced the Stone, The Conqueror to turned to see what was happening as he smiled under his helmet and began to wave at the ladies.
Staying in his seat he called out from across the floor, "Ah, Ladies in Green, come and join me. I was just about to feast."
"We should stay focused." Kuribayashi stated as she leaned close to Kurokawa.
Kurokawa nodded for a moment, "We could... or we could see what he knows. Who knows, you have been complaining how you were finding it hard to get a boyfriend."
"1. Keep my love life out of yours, 2. I told that to the group in confidence, 3. I doubt some muscle head who I saved and in turned saved me is gonna honestly be my ty...ty-ty-ty-type." Kuribayashi paused as he saw him remove his helmet. He was tanned greatly, with dark hair that was shaved down on his head and face. Rough and rugged features added with a couple scars, his face had seen his fair shares of fights in the past. His dark skin was sporting some deep brown eyes and a captivating grin with one tooth missing on the top right side of his mouth.
Kurokawa leaned in close to nudge her friend, "You were saying?"
"Shut up." Kuribayashi grunted as she marched over to sit next to the larger man.
"Barkeep, a round for me and my friend and treat us to your specialty please." The Conqueror requested as his smile was the perfect tool to break the ice, "You fight with same fury as our Warden when I first met him. We could've handled it... but thank you."
"Thanks, I guess. Have you heard anything about Empire sightings before in this area?"
"Hmmm... never, this would be the first time if those men in dog costumes were from the Empire as you said."
"I see... maybe we should ask around."
"I got it covered, enjoy yourself." Kurokawa teased as she jumped up to ask around.
Kuribayashi cursed her in silence as the drinks and food had arrived in time. Roasted quail with herbs and spices with steamed potatoes alongside a chalice of wine. A meal fit for a pair of warriors who have earned it after a tiring battle. While eating, The Conqueror couldn't help but become fascinated with the soldier in green next to him.
"The way you charged into the fray, you weren't scared were you?" Stone asked.
Kuribayashi turned and smiled the same way she always did when it came to a fight, "Of a fight? Hell no, those bastards never knew what was coming."
"So you've had your fair share of scars. Check this out." He pulled his chest armor down showing his bare broad chest, and a star shaped scar, "Arrow to the chest. Nearly was the death of me."
"Alright big tough guy huh? Tough enough to take me on?" Kuribayashi challenged the large man.
The Conqueror who noticed the size difference wasn't swayed as he had waited for a similar challenge, "I am always down for a spar."
Both the fighters downed their chalices and went to the arena area where Daubeny would often spectate and mock the fighters in the field. With a spark in his heart and a fire in her eyes they went to see who was the best. After all this was actually how Kuribayashi chose boyfriend candidates.
[With The Warden]
With a smile underneath his helmet he observed his friend rush to have a sparring match with the newcomer from the famous, Men in Green. He saw other Men in Green waiting to have a conference with him and their leader speaking with another one of his men. Meanwhile the Apostle Rory Mercury, the blue haired mage and the two elves ha their own conversation. All seemed well for him as he watched from the high tower.
The high tower served as a jail for some of the surviving members as a few others were brought out for interrogation. Currently one of the high ranking officers was chained to the floor as a chest they had was seen in front of him. The chest was brought with them as it was opened angering Warden with it's contents.
Grabbing the prisoner by the throat he brought him face to face for questioning, "Where have you found these... these... symbols of a wickedness and madness?!"
"When you tire of the stagnation of your so called peace... they invite you back to join your true calling." The prisoner taunted once he regained his breath. Only for it to be taken away by Mercy slitting his throat and letting him bleed to the floor.
She knew her husband was in fear since those times brought out the worst in him, "We must keep the peace. Let no one know of this."
"What if they come?" Warden asked.
Mercy paused for a long time, "Then we'll fight, for the people."
So sorry this took so long, there is no excuse. I just kept pausing and hitting roadblocks, repeatedly. Now that I got this finished, onto the next one.
Until next time, Churchisalive signing off for now.
