"Ambassador Nar'Yava, can I speak to you privately for a moment?"

"Huh? Oh, sure Councilor."

-e&d-

"I meant all of that speech. Every word of it."

Admassador Nar'Yava was silent.

"The way we treated you was inexcusable. You are not 'suit rats'. You are fellow sapients, and from this day forward we will not tolerate you being treated like vermin."

"...damn, you're really serious, aren't you?" The Ambassador was surprised, but not shocked.

"I am. And that is why the Council of Matriarchs recently passed and implemented the Hate Speech Prohibition Decree. Effective immediately, it is now a criminal offense to refer to quarians as 'suit rats'."

Seeing the Ambassador's skeptical expression, she forwarded the Decree to the former's omni-tool.

"Keelah, you weren't lying!" The Ambassador straightened. "You know what, Councilor? Thank you. This is all we have ever wanted from you."

Nelyana held out her hand to the Ambassador. "As the humans say, let's let bygones be bygones."

"Agreed." The Ambassador happily shook Nelyana's hand. "Today is a new day for the galaxy!"
