Author's Note: After a bit of a hiatus, we are back with this story.
Before we begin, I'd like to address a recent chapter. Someone requested that I make a chapter made up of profiles for the Animal Squadron wrestlers. I want to clarify that the profiles are not mine to write. Most of the Animal Squadron wrestlers belong to Foxboy614, and he already has made several profiles for his OCs in his Deviantart page. The only Animal Squadron member that belongs to me is Kaito Marx, and I included his profile in my Berserk profiles chapter. If you want the profiles of the other male wrestlers, head to Foxboy614's Deviantart page and check them out for yourself.
Now that all that's out of the way, we can get onto the story. Welcome the return of Wanna Be the Queen of Pro Wrestling. Any and all comments are welcome.
The night after the highly successful event, Sayuri Rogue had rented out an entire restaurant for the night and invited Berserk and Miyabi for a night out to celebrate. Everyone dressed up and headed for the party.
The restaurant once had many tables around the place, but for this specific party, some of them were stored away. Now, the guests were free to sit and pace around whenever they would like.
Once everyone had arrived, Sayuri Rogue tapped her wine glass with a silver spoon to get everyone to quiet down and listen.
"Thank you, everyone, for a memorable night. Last night, we have made an inordinate amount of money which were split between Berserk and Miyabi. But since Berserk had more wins, they got a slight majority of the profits, but that doesn't matter. Isn't that right, you two?"
"I'm fine with it." Misaki said.
"Me too." Juri agreed.
"And while the money is nice, let's not forget the women who made the night special. Rio, Elena, you pulled off quite an opener. Chocho, Tania, I was practically at the edge of my seat. Crimson Fury, Fireflies, although the fire was a bit much, I'm just glad no one got seriously injured. Queen Bee, Artemis, quite a slugfest if I do say so myself. Excavator Sakuya and Eve L had a good match too. Too bad neither one of them could make it tonight."
As soon as she said that, Misaki shifted her eyes around looking at all the guests. When she was done, she gained a suspicious look before looking back at Sayuri Rogue.
"And of course, the match between the masked rookie, Manta Rei, and Miyabi's top heel, Talon, was no boring watch either. Both women fought well. And not to mention, we had an amazing match between the two karate girls, Moe Fukuoka and Lisa Hinata. Of course, it's no Sakura Hagiwara vs Yoshiko. No offense, girls."
"None taken." Lisa said.
"Back to Sakura and Yoshiko, we're all glad the feud between them is over and there's no more bad blood between us. But out of all the matches, I gotta say, I enjoyed the main event the most. Misaki Toyoda and Juri Sanada, two lifelong rivals in every field, ending the event spectacularly together. Because of you all, we revolutionized women's wrestling in Japan. To our two gyms."
Everyone raised their glasses ending the speech. They took a sip before beginning to mingle.
Juri noticed Misaki's expression and turned to her. "Is everything all right?"
"Hard to say, really." Misaki said. "It's the League of Evil."
"What about them?" Juri said.
"They've been acting strange ever since Queen Bee beat Hornet in that juggernaut match." Misaki said. "They've been taking more frequent visits to the junkyard."
"The junkyard? Why are they at the junkyard?"
"That's where they work out. Mr. Inoba said it might be better to avoid hostilities in the gym if the League have their own place. The junkyard was the best place they can practice their unsanctioned tactics."
"And you think they're up to something?"
"I always think that. Do you remember the match where I had to defend my title against Digger and she had her goons choke me with rope?"
"Yeah. Why didn't the referee stop that?"
"It was a No DQ match. Somehow, they convinced Inoba to make it that kind of match."
"He approved that?"
"He had a lot on his mind. Remember, it was during the middle of Sakura's losing streak, so he wasn't making as much money as he used to. But ever since her match against Jackal, he's been sound-minded enough to issue warnings to the League of Evil, so they're being extra careful. But we're getting off topic. The point is, the League is up to something, and I think Excavator Sakuya is involved in it. She seems much more like a face than before, which is way out of the blue like that."
"Sounds like you're in quite a pickle." Misaki and Juri were joined by Kanae and her reporting partner, Natsuki Okumura. Kanae fixed her glasses before continuing to speak. "Maybe we can help."
"How can you help?" Juri asked. "I know you're reporters, and Kanae, you're amazing in the ring, but you're tabloid journalists for sports magazines."
"I can be an investigative reporter too." Natsuki said. "Look, if they're up to something, I can be sure to find out what it is."
"Are you sure, Okumura?" Misaki asked. "It could be dangerous. If they catch you snooping, they'll trash you and make you a part of their junkyard."
"I knew what I was getting into the moment I was hired to do stories on strong women."
Kanae chuckled. "Look at him being all brave."
"Thank you, Kanae." Natsuki said. "Now, if you excuse me, I've got some drinks to refill." He left the table with Kanae watching happily. She turned back to Misaki and Juri watching.
"What?"
"So you like him?" Misaki asked.
Kanae chuckled. "Yeah. I guess I do. We had a pretty good date and I'm looking forward to the next time he asks me out."
"Well, when you do, we want details." Juri said.
"Hello, Toyoda."
Misaki turned back and found herself approached by Chocho. Misaki gave a small smile. "Hello, Chocho. Let me guess, you want another match."
"I'd say I earned it." Chocho said. "Between such challenging opponents like Queen Bee, Smythe, and both of the Hirano sisters at once, I'd say I gotta take advantage of the momentum."
Misaki shrugged. "Why not?"
"So you accept?"
"Sure. Next weekend. For the belt."
Both exchanged a handshake, but they both had eyes full of fire.
Over at another part of the restaurant, Sakura checked up on Queen Bee who was tending to her head.
"How are you feeling?"
"Well, I'm almost absolutely certain that I don't' have a concussion, but if I fall down, call 911."
"That was quite a match you pulled off. Not gonna lie." Sakura said. "But hey, I think you lasted longer than I would have."
"Are you kidding me?" Queen Bee asked. "At the rate you're going, if either one of us gets the championship belt, I wouldn't be surprised if the first title match would be against each other. You're definitely on the verge of becoming the Strongest in the World."
Sakura was going to reply, but laughter stopped her from doing so. Both girls turned to the source of the laughter which Dawn cringed at. Tania Smythe sat down right next to Dawn and chuckled softly.
"What's so funny?" Sakura asked.
"That claim." Tania said. "You really think you're going to take my title."
"Your title?"
"Yeah." Dawn said. "The truth is, Tania is officially called the Strongest in the World."
"Really?"
"Yep. But to be fair, she only got that back when her only profession was lifting a giant piece of iron that's smarter than her."
"Ooh. Salty." Tania said. "That's some talk coming from someone who I basically bulldozed back in America."
"Hey!" Dawn said. "I'm not the same wrestler you fought before! I've had plenty of epic matches against strong opponents and won."
"You just got beat by a boxer." Tania reminded. "So much for becoming the Queen of Pro Wrestling."
Dawn growled angrily. "Oh, yeah! Well, why don't we prove it! You and me! In the ring!"
"You mean like before? Fine, but on one condition. Let's not make this a fluke where you get a lucky break and beat me. I say we make this… an I Quit match."
"Deal." Dawn accepted without hesitation.
Tania laughed waling away. "See ya in a week, loser."
Dawn muttered angrily to herself before turning to Sakura. "What?"
"You did it again."
"Did what? …Oh, I see. I accepted a match without thinking again."
"Yeah. That's a bit of a problem. Also, one question… What's an I Quit match?"
"It's pretty much the ultimate hardcore match." Dawn explained. "There are no rules and no disqualifications. And the only way to win is to make your opponent say 'I Quit'. It's like a submission match, but verbal and more brutal."
"Whoa. That's something." Sakura said. "Hey, you're job's not actually on the line, is it?"
"No, no, no. The loser can still wrestle. The phrase is just a signal to end the match. It means she quits the match and concedes."
"So what I'm hearing is," Sakura said, "The woman who defeated you soundly in the past challenged you to a no-rules match and you accepted even though she has had more experience since before."
Dawn paused for a moment. "Yeah… Sometimes, I hate myself."
