Chapter 15 Sea Exploring

With swimming lessons out of the way Ariel lead Kida through the tunnels and into the ocean. At first Kida was sad to see the ruins of what once used to be parts of Atlantis and she took a moment of silence to mourn the long since deceased people. Ariel put a supportive hand on Kida's shoulder.

After a few moments they moved on. Ariel first lead Kida to the surface to see the sky and the sun. Kida was amazed by the sight and it filled her with both great joy and sadness. She was happy to witness the sight, but was sad because her people might never get a chance to see it. Ariel then showed Kida her grotto, where she kept the various human objects she found on her adventures, including treasures and objects from Atlantis. Kida was very impressed by this. And finally Ariel showed Kida Atlantica. Kida was mesmerized by the large undersea structure as well as the numerous mermaids and merman swimming about.

Ariel lead Kida to the library where they met Attina.

"Kida. This is my sister Attina. She helped me learn about Atlantis and your language. Attina. This is my friend Kida. She is the princess of Atlantis." Said Ariel.

Kida looked at Attina as she studied her. Attina looked at her sister and spoke.

"So are there merepeople living in the ruins of Atlantis?"

"Not exactly." Said Ariel before she explained how she and Kida met and how Kida became a mermaid.

Attina was both amazed and excited by this news.

"Well that was quite a story. As the eldest princess of Atlantica I welcome you to our home and I promise I will do everything in my power to help the people of Atlantis." Said Attina.

"Thank you." Said Kida.

"What should we tell dad?" Asked Ariel.

"For now we just tell him, Kida is a mermaid from a distant sea. He's not a fan of humans, especially Atlantians, so it's best to keep Kida's identity a secret." Said Attina.

"Understood. I don't want to cause anyone any trouble." Said Kida.

"You two go have some fun. We'll discuss helping Atlantis later." Said Attina.

"Ok." Said Ariel as she and Kida swam off.
