LOL you had me feeling sorry for the Drusleys. One thing if their clocks were set back two hours wouldn't Vernon be late for work not early?

I.E. If it is really 9:00 but the your clock says 7:00 (two hours back) and you get to work at 9:00 by your clock but it is actually 11:00 in real time. You are really two hours late for work.

I am looking forward to the next chapter.

Well, If you set the clock back two hours, that means their alarm goes off two hours early (so instead of instead of 6 am, it would be 4 am). They get ready two hours early. They go to work two hours early. Do you understand? I think you thought I said they'd set it ahead two hours...

Chapter 6: The Cool Down

It's been a week since the fateful day that the first prank had been pulled and Vernon Dursley felt like he was going insane. Far a week, he's rarely had a good meal, half the time he's smelt like cream cheese, his hair is still a ridiculous, revolting pink, and he's still finding glitter everywhere!

His poor, perfectly normal family had become the talk of the neighborhood and he's become the laughing stock at work! He was at the point where moving might just be the best option. However, the prankster even ruined that! Everytime they dial a real estate company, they get a sex line! And, when he actually goes to the company, the asked for pictures and he can't give them because the prankster somehow was able to paint their house neon orange with royal purple polka dots! Inside the house was just as bad. Somehow they painted their walls in abstract art! And they did it in one night without anyone noticing!

He couldn't take it anymore!

It was like they were cursed!

Harry felt like he has been flying on Cloud 9 for the entire week. Not only has he been able to escape the cupboard at night, he's been able to eat regular meals after his relatives go to bed! And, Gabriel even let him have candy! In fact, the Trickster was deeply offended that he's never gotten to try it before! He's never tasted anything so good.

Harry knew that by being Gabriel's vessel, he didn't need to eat, but Harry honestly liked it. It made him feel normal—no matter how much he's actually started hating the word. Harry was thankful that he never felt hungry though. The hunger pains and thirst were just as bad, if not worse, than any of the beatings ever were...

Another wonderful thing that happened this week was that his relatives were so busy dealing with the pranks that haven't even tried to punish him. They didn't even remember to give or make him do his chores!

Oh, the pranks!

Harry couldn't believe how much fun pulling them had been! He's never actually done anything against the Dursley's before—fearing the fall out it would bring him. However, he had to admit that their reactions were hilarious. Plus, they deserved it! As Gabriel would say, it was Just Deserts.

Speaking of Gabriel, he was a genius when it came to pulling pranks. Of course, being Loki—which he explain, in great detail, actually maned—he would be. He seemed to know just the things that would drive his relatives mad.

But, the thing was that Gabriel has been teaching him how to pull pranks. At first, he only asked him what would set his relatives off and what he thought would be funny. Over the week, however, Gabriel let him set up some of the easier pranks that didn't use any Grace—and had less of a chance of him getting caught. All the while, he would give him advice on the best ways to set up the pranks—and explain why.

During the day, Gabriel gave him acting lessons. According to the Trickster, they;ll come in handy later, but for now, he was focusing on his innocent facade and his lying skills. After that, Gabriel planned to teach him how to win a debate and how to get what he wanted.

Harry couldn't wait.

Gabriel couldn't believe how willing the kid was to take up pranking! He thought he'd at least have to give him a few nudges to convince him! But, no, he just brought it up once, and viola, he had a new pranking buddy!

Thouhh...the kid did like his Trickster stories... So, Gabrie3l guessed he shouldn't be too surprised. It was just, the kid seemed too nice for his Trickster ways. He almost felt...guilty for corrupting him... Almost.

He liked the kid and he didn't want Harry to hate him when he found out about his more violent pagan side.

…..He really hoped the kid wouldn't hate him.

The day Harry was let out of his 'bed room'—read prison—was a day of celebration for both angel and vessel.

It was now the beginning of summer break, and the Dursley's were so frustrated by the pranks, they decided to leave for the weekend. And, because Mrs. Figg was sick, the Dursley's decided to take Harry with them. They decided to go to the mall and get their hair died to finally get rid of the neon pink dye job—of course they'd all be wearing hats to hide their new hair out of embarrassment.

Gabriel snickered in the back of Harry's mind. He was still proud of that one. Vernon had went ballistic when he saw his new hairdo and ended up breaking Petunia's favorite vase—given to her by her grandmother on her wedding day. He ended up on the couch for that one. The large blonde man ended up promising Petunia to buy her a new expensive dress to make up for it. And, when Dudley heard him, both parents told the spoiled boy they would buy him a present for all the trauma he's probably been through.

Gabriel prayed to his Father that they had a chance to slip away for a bit while they were all getting the dye job done. He wanted to go look through the second hand book store and maybe an antique store to see if he can find anything for Harry. Those stores might have some information from old hunters that sadly passed or got arrested that Harry could use.

Plus, Harry's birthday was almost a month away. It was a good idea to get some information on this he might like; because it wasn't like the Dursley's ever cared. He wanted to make his birthday special.

"Now, you remember, you little freak," Vernon hissed, and Gabriel really wished he could zap him in public. "No funny business on this trip! We don't need your freakishness on top of the awful we had!"

"I could give you a worse one," Gabriel threatened within Harry's mind, his Grace lighting up in his anger.

Harry, used to the angelic Trickster's snide remarks by now, ignored him—hiding his amusement and interested smirk—as he dutifully said, "Yes, Uncle Vernon.

"Good," the fat man hissed backing out of the young boy's personal space now that he felt he threatened the boy enough. "Now, get in the car!"

Harry nodded and Gabriel grumbled. Even after years on Earth, he still didn't really like cars.

"So, Gabe, any ideas," Harry asked, hoping to calm his friend down.

But, honestly, he was also excited. Gabriel's Trickster furry honestly pulled out his best ideas.

The Trickster smirk darkly and sent a flood of Grace through his vessel.
"You bet I do, kiddo," he said chuckled sinisterly in the back of his throat. "Now that we're in the cool down period, we'll duel out pranks using a point based system. We don't actually want your relatives going insane...yet."

Harry forced himself not to chuckle as he climbed into the back seat next to Dudley. He's really glad he's gotten the hang of talking to Gabriel mentally. Now that he's had the Trickster's company, he's not sure how he's ever lived without it.

The whole ride had Harry doing his best stoic mask as Gabriel continued to back fun of Uncle Vernon's complaining and Dudley's whining. And, though Harry was having fun listening to the angel's comments, he was relieved they had finally made it to their destination. Harry was sure he was about to break down and start laughing if they didn't—or actually mange to break a rib if he had managed to keep it in.

Harry immediately jumped out of the car once they were parked—making plans to ditch his relatives at the first opportunity. However, once again, Vernon got int the young boy's face—eyes alight with distate3 and a cruel want to 'punish' him.

"Now, listen here boy," Vernon hissed for the second tine that day. "No funny business or it's another week in the cupboard. Got it?"

Harry nodded and Gabriel was once again silently fumming. The angel couldn't wait for their next set of pranks.

Vernon huffed and motioned for everyone to follow him. Harry did as directed until they were 'accidently' swallowed in the crowds.

"Good job, kiddo," the Trickster praised him as his Grace pulsed in excitement. "Now, we need to book or antique store."

Harry nodded and began his search.
