The unthinkable has just happened. After meeting with Charlotte's cold father, Serene and Kimi ended up getting kidnapped. Rushing to rescue their friends, while also thinking that Dunois Corporation might have a connection to Rogue Nirvana, Davis and the others see a secret and underground auction was going on. A people auction where those being sold were against their will. When Davis rushed down to try and save them, a gun was fired and Charlotte was the one that got shot.

"Charlotte!" Davis shouted as they all saw her shot.

"Charlotte..." Albert Dunois said under his breath as even he couldn't believe his eyes. As soon as the realization of what just happened hit, some people screamed and they all tried getting out of there. Davis hurried over to Charlotte to try and help her, but he wasn't sure what to do.

"Charlotte!" Ichika called as he and Fria hurried over to help her.

"Time for Plan T: Take them by storm!" Lita said as she and the others rushed in. Lita and Houki hurried over to the girls and tried to get them all free. "Kimi and Serene, are you two okay?!" She asked as she removed their gags.

"Yes, but there are others just backstage." Serene claimed.

"We got it!" Rin called as she and the others hurried back there to save the other prisoners.

"Come on, Charlotte! Stay with me! Say something!" Davis pleaded as he wasn't sure what to do. When he looked up for a moment, something caught his eye. It was only a second, but he saw it. He saw the gun that was used on Charlotte and whoever it was trying to run for it going right out the door. "Hey, you! Stop!" He called as he tried to chase after the one who did it right when Ichika and Fria arrived.

"Charlotte, can you hear me?!" Ichika said. Fria acted quickly and just ripped Ichika's jacket off.

"Ichika, apply pressure to the wound to try and stop the bleeding!" Fria ordered as she handed him back his jacket. Ichika didn't asked questions and just did what Fria said while she tried to take care of the situation. It was pure chaos in there as the others were saving everyone. As for Davis, he tried to chase after the guy that shot Charlotte and was trying not to lose him.

'I can't lose him! I can't lose this guy!' Davis thought as he tried to get him. Davis made it out the door, but people were running like their lives depended on it. He looked around to try and find the guy who shot Charlotte, but there was no sign of him anywhere. Since he was also wearing a mask, Davis doesn't know who it was. He just blended into the crowd and made his escape. "Damn it!" Davis shouted at the top of his lungs in frustration.

The Base

What happened at the theater was pure chaos. It didn't take long for the authorities to arrive and try to handle the situation. Luckily; Davis, Ichika, and the girls were all able to escape and get out of there. They were even able to move Charlotte. Once they got back to their base, they took her to see medical attention right away. Fortunately, Wade had some medical equipment up in his mobile lab. Once they got Charlotte there, they tended to her injury and got her help. She was placed in a bed with an oxygen mask and pipe.

"Are you sure we can't take her to a hospital? Wouldn't it be better for her?" Sierra questioned.

"If they know who we are, it could be a serious problem." Wade said. "On top of that, she would be a sitting duck if the person who did this wants to finish the job."

"Wade, are you sure you know what you're doing?" Ichika asked as they were all scared for her.

"I promise you that I won't let her die. Luckily, the bullet didn't shatter on impact or get lodged in her." Wade said. All of them were scared out of their mind. Charlotte is just about the nicest one. She certainly doesn't deserve this.

"I saw it..." Davis mumbled with everyone looking at him. "For a second, I saw the guy holding the gun that did this. He got away from me. If I hadn't just ran out there..."

"Davis, you can't blame yourself." Veemon said.

"Veemon's right. You got angry seeing me and Serene like that." Kimi said. "Something had to have been done. I was ready to unleash my I.S. and I might have done the same. Luckily, everyone who was captured got out and the police are taking care of them."

"Still, how could anyone do this to Charlotte, and wasn't it a little weird it was just towards Charlotte?" Serene said.

"You think she was targeted specifically?" Houki questioned.

"It would seem so, and if it turns out it was her rotten father, I'll cut him open more times than a paper snowflake!" Laura declared.

"Which brings me to this question." Cecila said. "How are the two of you doing?"

"We're fine." Serene said. "They caused us to blackout when they took us. When we woke up, we found ourselves chained with other men and women. Luckily, we still had our I.S. on us. Either they didn't know about that or they had something else planned."

"We could have busted out of there, but we also had to rescue all those other people." Kimi said. "We were trying to see where this was all leading to, and we figured you guys would find us eventually."

"We did, but that wasn't all." Fria said. "Thanks to Laura, we believe that the Dunois Corporation might have ties to Rogue Nirvana, and they were suppose to be there."

"Isn't that the company Charlotte's father owns?" Kimi questioned.

"It is, but that's besides the point now. The auction was ruined and any leads we might have had are gone." Chifuyu said as she entered the room. "Listen, let's have Dunois get some rest. She needs it. Wade can monitor her to make sure she's doing well. Clear out now." All of them did what she said, but Davis did catch a glimpse of Chifuyu giving her a disapproving glare right at him. She was mad at him.

"You guys go." Ichika said. "I want to stay close to Charlotte when she wakes up."

"I'll stay back to." Davis said as he still felt guilty about the whole. Everyone else cleared out while the boys waited for Charlotte to wake up soon.

Bourgeois

Bourgeois returned to his office. If he was in the audience of the auction, he managed to slip out just like everyone else. He returned to his office at the Dunois Corporation and took a moment to settle down. He took a look at the news and saw what happened at the theater was already being covered.

"Things became more eventful than I thought." Bourgeois said. He reached for his phone and wanted to talk to Albert. He dialed up Albert's number, but he wasn't getting a response. "Where are you, Dunois?"

The Base

Everyone was waiting patiently for Charlotte to make a fully recovery. Wade is doing his best to help her with it. Ichika and Davis just remained close to her and kept an eye on her.

"Davis, you shouldn't be so hard on yourself." Veemon said. "It wasn't your fault."

"Well, I think Chifuyu would beg to differ after the look she gave me." Davis said.

"Motomiya! Orimura! Someone is coming up! Brace yourselves!" Chifuyu called.

"Brace ourselves?" Ichika questioned. They didn't know what she was talking about until they saw who it was. It was none other than Albert Dunois himself. "You?! You have a lot of nerve to show yourself here!" He said as he wasn't happy at all to see him.

"Out of my way!" Albert said as he pushed Ichika out of the way and stood over Charlotte. He actually seemed terrified upon seeing his daughter my actually die.

"Ichika, who is this guy?" Davis questioned.

"Charlotte's father." Ichika said.

"Oh... You mean the miserable bastard that doesn't care about his daughter." Davis said as he and Veemon weren't happy and ready to fight. "What the hell are you doing here?"

"What do you think?! I witnessed my own daughter get shot!" Albert shouted. That didn't make sense to the boys.

"How did you even find us?" Davis said.

"I followed you. I had to make sure my daughter was safe." Albert claimed as he seemed generally scared.

"Now you care? You didn't seem to care before." Ichika said. "You can't just come in here and act like a parent!"

"Please just listen to me! This is all Bourgeois' fault!" Albert claimed. It seemed like he got his attention now. Normally, they wouldn't care what they have to say, but Dunois might be the key, given the circumstances. They all sat down and talked things over with Albert calming. "I know I might not seem like a father to you, and I don't blame you for despising me."

"I'll say. You hardly have anything to do with Charlotte, yet she still feels something towards you." Ichika claimed.

"It's not easy." Albert said as he looked back at his daughter. "How are you suppose to act when a daughter you don't know just pops into your life, especially since her mother is dead? I didn't know how to process it. On top of that, I had a company that was going under. I was under a lot of pressure, many situations to handle, and I didn't know how to handle all of it."

"Even so, Charlotte is your daughter. You can't just brush her aside, especially since she lost her mother around the time she came to you." Davis said.

"I know it all seemed bad. I was trying to wrap my head around it myself." Albert claimed.

"Earlier, you said that this is all Bourgeois' fault. What did you mean by that?" Ichika questioned. "How is he responsible for this?"

"Because I was sitting right next to him when he pulled the trigger." Albert claimed. Ichika and Davis couldn't believe it.

"And you just let it happen?!" Davis said with anger.

"I didn't know he even had a gun on him!" Albert said. "I knew Bourgeois didn't approve of me having a daughter, but I didn't think he would let things go this far. Bourgeois' makes decisions that he believes is best for the company. Once he learned that I had a daughter with a mistress and was an estranged father, he was not pleased. He knew something like that would sully the company and the reputation. We were already having financial troubles and falling behind our competitors for quite some time."

"Which is why you sent Charlotte to the academy as a boy." Ichika stated.

"Oui... That was Bourgeois' idea as well." Albert claimed. "As for me, I was torn between my company and my daughter. How can I provide for my daughter if my company goes under? I was hesitant to go along with the idea, but we were running out of options. On top of that, I made it so Charlotte didn't had a choice. I know I seemed cold and distant earlier when I met you, but there was clearly some tension between me and my daughter. If you had children of your own, you would understand how tough my situation was. I suppose I was also disappointed since Charlotte was suppose to gather data for us to use, but she never did."

"And if anything went wrong, Charlotte would go to jail, something else Bourgeois thought of." Davis said.

"Your company did find some new investors to help, but what were you doing at that auction?" Ichika said.

"That was part of our deal." Albert explained. "These investors came in and saved us, as well as bringing us in that sort of auction. They wanted us to find them subjects to aid in research of the I.S. units."

"Does the name Rogue Nirvana mean anything? Was it mentioned with these investors?" Davis asked as he just knew it had to be them.

"I don't think so... Bourgeois was the one that found them." Albert answered.

"It sounds like Bourgeois is the enemy here." Davis said.

"He must be the big shot that Marinda told us about." Ichika said. "He must be working with Rogue Nirvana. How ironic that they're having an I.S. company help them when they hate I.S."

"Why would they do that?" Veemon questioned.

"They saw an opportunity and took it. With something like this under their control, it makes it that much easier to find ways to destroy the I.S." Davis claimed. "Buying those girls allows them to study how they operate the I.S., and buying men could give them new soldiers in their cause."

"These guys are smarter and more methodical than we thought." Ichika said as they see this enemy continues to grow in being a threat.

"It's my fault, too." Albert said as he was shaking with grief. "I didn't know how to be a father. I couldn't be the father that Charlotte wanted me to be, and practically fed her to the lions." He turned and looked at his daughter with tears rolling down her face. "I'm sorry, my daughter." He grabbed her hand and just kept crying. He truly did have some regret over what happened and wishes he could change all of it. The boys actually felt sorry for him.

"Stay here." Davis said as he got up and was on his way out. "Let's go, Veemon." Veemon didn't even ask questions. He just followed Davis out of there. Ichika did wonder where Davis was going, but the look on his face says that Davis is going to take care of business.

...

The Next Day

The sun began to rise in France. As it did, Bourgeois helped himself to a cup of coffee to help him get through the day.

"That trouble some girl and her friends just had to show and mess everything up." Bourgeois complained. It was then he saw he was getting a message and knew who it was. When he opened it, he saw it was Iratin Genbu. "Master Genby!"

"Where are our new research subjects or possible soldiers?" Iratin asked.

"I'm sorry. I went down to the the auction to get them, but it was interrupted and ruined before anything could even be done." Bourgeois claimed.

"Understand that we do not like giving Lord Qilin disappointment. Find some way to improvise." Iratin said.

"Of course." Bourgeois promised before ending the call. Once that was done, he got up from his desk and went straight in to the walls and tried figure out what he was going to do. As he stepped outside, many coworkers and such gathered around him and was trying to get answers on work and such as he made his way down to the main lobby. "Yes, yes! I know about all of this and it will be taken care of!" As he was talking about all of this, he was in for a big surprise. Something came busting the door down and smashed through the wall. Everyone was shocked and surprised by what just happened and curious as what caused it. All they could see was Davis making his way through.

"Which one of you guys is Bourgeois?! Where is he?!" Davis called. Everyone was astonished on seeing the likes of him just busting in the place like that.

"Bourgeois? That happens to be me." Bourgeois said as he stepped forward. "I don't have time for nonsense. What do you want?" Once Davis saw who it was, he just walked straight to him.

"Hey, you! Stop!" Security called as they tried to stop him, but that was when Ex-Veemon fly in and kept them from doing anything.

"Don't get in the way!" Ex-Veemon shouted and got them to back off. Davis just kept on walking straight to Bourgeois and let nothing stopped him.

"What is this? What do you think you're doing?!" Bourgeois said. Once Davis got close enough, he held nothing back and smashed his fist right into Bourgeois' face. The force actually knocked him down to the ground. After all that Bourgeois has done, only one thing is going through Davis' mind.

"That was for Charlotte...and it's only going to get worse for you!" Davis declared.

...

Davis: This Bourgeois really knows how to make me mad. We came here to bring down an association of Rogue Nirvana or whatever, and that's what I'm going to do. This bastard tried to ruin Charlotte's life and he's going to pay for that. You know what they say, "For the French!"
