"In the end, Charlotte is making a great recovery and Bourgeois seems to be going to jail." Davis said over the phone. He gave Kari a call and was telling her all that happened in France. "Too bad all of Rogue Nirvana isn't arrested, but it looks like people are alerted about them now."

"I know. That broadcast was being sent all around. A lot of people saw it, including me and the others." Kari said. "From what you told me, Rogue Nirvana sounds dangerous."

"They probably are, but we've got to try and stop them." Davis said. "These guys will use force if they have to in order to get their way, and they don't really care that much about who gets hurt. That's the part that makes these guys a threat."

"I just hope you and the others aren't in danger yourselves. Someone actually shot Charlotte. What if something happens to you?" Kari questioned out of concern.

"I'll be fine. I'm too stubborn to die." Davis said.

"I suppose so." Kari said. It got rather quiet on that end and it had Davis a little concerned.

"You okay. You're rather quiet over there." Davis said.

"Yeah... I'm fine." Kari said. "It just sounds like you had quite a time in France. I just wish I could have gone with you."

"I know, but we were on a mission, Kari." Davis said. "We saw a human auction, a friend got shot, and more. You're a sweet person and I don't think you would have been able to handle seeing it."

"You're probably right. No way I could have without crying. Listen, I need to go, Davis." Kari said. "I'll call you later."

"Sure. I..." Kari just ended the call right there. Davis has this feeling that something is bothering Kari, but it seems like she's not telling him and that has Davis a little concerned.

"Is everything okay with Kari?" Veemon asked.

"I sure hope so." Davis said. Davis already has enough to deal with against Rogue Nirvana. He just hopes there's nothing really bothering Kari because he can't really do much to help her now.

...

Sakyo

"Lord Qilin, the broadcast has the world going." Byako said.

"It looks like we're gaining some support while others are doubting the I.S." Iratin said. "Everything is going just as how you envisioned." As Sakyo enjoyed a nice cup of tea in his chair, he was ready for the next move as well as enjoying the progress they've already made.

"Excellent." Sakyo said as he spoke with the Four Heavenly Kings. "Now that we got our message out, we can begin the next step. They're ready." Sakyo snapped his fingers and a servant came walking in. He carried a tray with four black braces on them, one for each of the Four Heavenly Kings.

"They're ready?" Seyu questioned.

"Sweet. I can't wait to try this out." Senka said as he grabbed one.

"Lord Qilin, you are truly a visionary, but isn't this a little hypocritical to our cause?" Byako questioned.

"Not quite. While it's good to be prideful, too much pride can be detrimental." Sakyo said. "Sometimes, you must fight fire with fire. At the same time, it brings a little more equality to the world. Once we obtain our goals, we'll just simply dispose of them."

"Do not question Lord Qilin." Iratin said. "He knows what he's doing, and this is where the information you and Seyu stole comes in handy. In order to defeat your enemy, you must have a better understanding of them."

"Okay, I get it." Byako claimed as he was getting annoyed with the explanations. "Still, will these things even work?"

"Do keep in mind that these are mere prototypes." Sakyo said. "Simulations and other tests were made, but we still aren't sure what they are capable of in actual combat."

"That's where we come in." Seyu said. "You want us to test these things to see what they're really capable of."

"Correction, the three of us." Senka said. "It's obvious that we will be fighting females, I.S. pilots. You don't raise your hand to a lady. Besides, you certainly didn't seem to have things under control when you fought those other two the last time you were at the academy."

"I beg your pardon!" Seyu said as he took a little offense. "They might have tricked me, but it won't happen again. Those two were defenseless without their I.S. Once I get my hands on both of them, they won't be as fortunate."

"Sure they won't, wuss." Senka mocked.

"You'll get your chance." Sakyo said. "The academy is where we are heading, and your opponents will be both of those pilots." He brought up an image of Ichika and Davis up. "The others aren't of any interest, but these two certainly are. Ryudoragon might be right, they might be helpless without their I.S., but that's not going to be the case this time."

"And how are we going to get them to fight?" Seyu questioned.

"We won't really give them a choice, you dumb dragon." Senka continued to mock with Seyu getting annoyed.

"Senka certainly does have the right idea. It's time we see for ourselves what these two are truly capable of." Sakyo said as he had something sneaky plan. He's the type of man that gets what he wants and doesn't let anything stop him.

...

I.S. Academy

Charlotte was up in her room as her body was still recovering from being shot. She just sat in her room and read a good book. She put the book away when she heard someone knocking on the door.

"Come in!" Charlotte called. The person that came walking in was Ichika himself with a bunch of flowers.

"How's our favorite patient doing?" Ichika asked.

"I'm getting better. Are those flowers for me?" Charlotte asked.

"Who else." Ichika said as he placed the flowers next to her nightstand. "Thought I come by since I got free moment. Everyone signed the card. There's really no room left for it. So, how are you doing?"

"I'll be fine." Charlotte said. "I've been hearing from my papa every now and then. We've been talking a lot more lately. It seems like things are actually getting better between us."

"That's great to hear. Seems like he felt really bad about all that happened between the two of you." Ichika said. "Gaining some perspective, it seems like it wasn't easy to run a company and take care a child that you hardly know. Heck, if it wasn't for that Bourgeois, you and your father would have gotten a better relationship sooner."

"Perhaps, but there are some good with the bad." Charlotte claimed. "For example, I never would have met you and the others. I might not have even came to this academy."

"That's true, when you put it like that." Ichika said. "Well, I'm glad you came. I'm also glad that things seem to be getting better for you. You also don't need to worry about a thing. I'll be more than glad to help you out until you're fully back on your feet." Charlotte couldn't stop herself from blushing. Turns out getting shot like she did does have some benefits.

...

Davis

"Class dismiss!" Chifuyu said as another time at class came to an end and everyone was on their way out. "Motomiya!" She called and got him to stop. "Hang back for a moment. There's something I would like to talk to you about. Miss Yamada, could you give us the room?"

"Of course." Yamada said as she stepped out herself. Lita and the others hung back themselves for a moment to make sure Davis would be okay, but Chifuyu glared right at them and told them to scram. They did what she wanted and just ran out of there. That just left the two of them.

"Is there a problem?" Davis asked.

"There actually is." Chifuyu said as she wasn't pleased with him at all. "I want to talk to you about your actions lately."

"My actions? I kicked butt." Davis said.

"This is not the time to be making jokes!" Chifuyu said with a raised voice and got Davis to shut up. "You compromised your last few assignments. The infiltration mission to get my brother, you practically gave away your presence. The theater, you just barged right in there without thinking. Then, you just went straight to Dunois Corporation and raised all hell. Despite your reasons, you've gone rogue too many times."

"Miss Orimura, you saw what was happening." Davis said as he tried to explain himself. "I thought it be easier just to get Ichika to come out because I knew we take the enemy. I barged in to get those people out of there. Burgeois was asking for it in the first place."

"It doesn't matter." Chifuyu said. "Your intentions are good, but your actions are looked down upon. You revealed you and your team in an infiltration that resulted in you getting captured. What happened in Marseille was that we were suppose to gather intel on Rogue Nirvana. Your actions back there got Dunois shot and could have caused us to lose our lead to Rogue Nirvana. You acting independently, going rogue the way you have, has caused some serious issues. I'm jumping through hoops to make sure the government doesn't shut us down or keep you out of federal jail."

"I'm sorry, but what was I suppose to do?" Davis said.

"Follow through with your orders." Chifuyu said. "I understand that you're excited to be back, and seeing what happened in France greatly upset you. I still can't let this go."

"So, what are you saying?" Davis asked as he didn't like this.

"The next time you decide to go rogue, I'll have to remove you from this, and we can't really lose someone with your talents." Chifuyu said. "If you do not follow through with your orders, you will have nothing to do with Rogue Nirvana and I will confiscate your personal unit." Davis surely didn't like that, and he certainly didn't want that to happen. Perhaps he has been getting carried away. However, there was no time to talk about this. They heard the sounds of propellers outside. They had a look outside and saw a couple choppers outside. Everyone took a look outside to see who or what this was. One of the choppers was lowing down and the back opened up with Sakyo Qilin showing himself, standing like some sort of king as he uses his sword like a cane up front. Davis, Chifuyu, and the others stepped forward and had a look at this for themselves.

"Greetings, I.S. Academy!" Sakyo said.

"I know who you are! You're Sakyo Qilin, the leader of Rogue Nirvana!" Davis said.

"Yes, and you are Davis Motomiya, the second male I.S. pilot in the world." Sakyo said. "The first is Ichika Orimura."

"You've got a lot of nerve to show yourself!" Davis said as he was ready to take action, but Chifuyu stopped him from doing anything crazy.

"State your business as to why you are here." Chifuyu said. "Making that public broadcast and coming here... You certainly don't do anything small."

"Ah... The infamous Chifuyu Orimura. The once great, I should say." Sakyo claimed. "I am here because I would like to issue a challenge for your two male students."

"Me and Ichika?" Davis questioned.

"You wish to settle things between us, do you not?" Sakyo said. "I issue a challenge: the two of you vs. the Four Heavenly Kings."

"Why issue something like that?" Chifuyu questioned.

"I don't really need to explain on that matter." Sakyo said. "I just thought I save you some of the trouble and just come straight to you."

"And what if we refuse this offer?" Chifuyu questioned.

"What? They're right there! We can't just let them go!" Davis said, but Chifuyu wasn't listening to him. Sakyo had a way to answer Chifuyu's question. It was a rocket flying straight out from behind him and smashed into one of the areas with a small explosion going off.

"I wouldn't refuse if I were you." Sakyo said. Davis glared right at him as he hated the lengths this guy was going to to get his way.

...

The Arena

Davis and Ichika had no choice. They had to take the challenge. They got themselves ready as they stood in the middle of the arena. Each of the Four Heavenly Kings stood at one of the launch pads, but were dressed differently. Each of them were dressed in attire similar to Ichika and Davis for when they use their units. As for Sakyo, he stood at the top of the arena, high above anyone and looked down at the arena. It irritated Davis.

"Look at him, starring down at us like some cocky bastard." Davis complained.

"These things are tight. I can't believe they wear these things." Senka complained as they kept in touch with a communication link.

"Save the complaining. It needs to be done." Iratin said.

"Davis Motomiya! Ichika Orimura! You have accepted our challenge to fight the Four Heavenly Kings!" Sakyo called.

"Lord Qilin, we of the Four Heavenly Kings have a request!" Iratin called.

"Each of us would like to have the chance to fight Orimura and Motomiya." Senka said. "So, we like to fight them one-on-one. That means they will fight two of us each."

"Why fight like that?! Why not fight us right here, right now?!" Davis called.

"Calm down." Byako said. "The truth is that we have new toys that we like to try out. We won't see the full potential fighting in a brawl."

"Since we're going to fight on such a grand stage, we might as well give this a show to remember. Besides, it's not like you can beat all four of us together." Seyu said. None of them liked the sound of this.

"Well, what happens if we win or lose?!" Davis called.

"If you both lose a match, we'll just stop what we're doing." Sakyo claimed, but he didn't say what would happen if a side wins.

"Careful, Davis. They got something planned." Ichika said.

"I will be the first one to face you!" Iratin said as he stepped forward. "I am Iratin Genbu of the Four Heavenly Kings. Lord Sakyo Qilin's shield! I will not fall so easily to you!" Iratin is the first to step forward and take this fight. Whatever this challenge is about, it's not going to be good for anyone. Ichika and Davis have to watch themselves.

...

Davis: I can't believe what I'm seeing. I didn't think these guys would find a way, but it looks like they did. Ichika and I have use of our I.S., but that doesn't seem to matter. I can't believe they found a way to keep up with us. Either way, Ichika and I will fight and we're taking these guys down.

Next Time: Shadow Units

Whatever it is these guys try, we'll take it on.
