Warnings Chapter 1
Chapter 193 Beards
Two hours of driving with his left elbow out the window, Dean called Bobby to let him know they were almost there.
"Good stuff, Dean. Thanks for doing it for me. It's probably a bust but we had better check."
"No problem. The weather is better already."
"Your contacts name is Pete. He will call your room after lunch today. He doesn't have your phone numbers, that's up to you if you trust him. I don't know him well but he gets on well with other hunters. Enjoy yourselves if you can. I've booked a hotel for you. I'll text the address."
"You could have just told me." Dean muttered as he stowed his phone.
Forty minutes later found Dean waking Sam by slipping a hand down Sam's pants and rubbing his cheeks with a grin.
"Wha…"
"Sorry, babe we're here."
"Where is here?" Sam sat up blinking in the first real rays of sunlight.
Dean drove up a hill to hotel Sheraton Soberano. Bobby had pulled out all the stops. Dean shook his head as he parked out front.
"Wow. Don't you think it's a bit much?"
"I didn't pick it. Bobby."
"Huh." Sam shook his head at Bobby spoiling them.
True to form they were informed on check in there was a pool and a gym. Bobby had let the desk know they would be there in the early hours and check in was as seamless as the border crossing. The lobby was impressive and the room was as well with a big TV and impressive solid wood bedhead and bedside tables. They even had a good view from the fourth floor. While Dean parked Baby in thier garage, Sam did a brief unpack of toiletries ect. Sam was still rummaging in his bag when Dean came back.
"We got something that would pass as trunks? The pools empty."
"You want to swim before food?"
"I ordered room service for an hours' time. I thought we could unkink first."
Sam nodded knowing they were both out of practice despite the sleep. "Boxers and long T shirts?"
"Sounds good."
Sam was glad they didn't run into anyone heading to the pool with hotel towels over their shoulders. Dean looked like he did it every day. It was all in the confidence. Sam was nervous at first but Dean was right, there was no one there and the floating around in the water was relaxing. Dean hopped up on the side after a while watching Sam float around with his legs in the pool. Sam smiled over at him then frowned. While Dean looked sexy in all the right places he still looked very thin in the wet clothes. Sam tried to recall when Dean had looked thinner, besides the last few months and couldn't do it- then he could. He floated over to Dean.
"I was just thinking about how thin you are."
Dean frowned down at Sam's face.
"Just you were always thin, I know not this thin but when we were young you often went without. I didn't realise until I was about twelve how you always fed me first. Even when we were with dad you waited for me to start. But, man when I worked it out I was so embarrassed. I remember, I think I was eight, dad bought burgers in after a week away and you almost inhaled yours. Dad told you off and said 'Jezz Dean you look you haven't eaten in a week'. You went red at the time. It wasn't till later I realized you probably hadn't eaten much in the week."
Dean touched Sam's hand on the edge of the pool." The good old days. It's okay, Sammy. I never regretted what I had to do to keep you safe. Even when I got caught red-handed."
"You know when I figured it out? You went down on a hunt. It was just a salt and burn but you fell in the hole, bam, right on the coffin. Sounded awful. You were out for a few seconds then jumped out like there was a poltergeist on your tail. Dad laughed his ass off. He stopped laughing when you passed out in the car with blood coming out your ears. At the hospital the doctor said your BMI was to low and it was long term malnutrition. He gave dad a sheet on what we could do for you but he diced it the back of the car so I read it later. That's when I remembered all the times you fed me but I didn't see you eat. It's amazing, you know, how you just kept going and how you've turned out despite all that."
Dean gave Sam a lopsided smile. "I remember that hospital visit because Dad started giving us more money when he went away. I was shocked the first time he did it. I liked the times he had a few and gave me money without remembering. I carried him home from bars a few times and always checked his pockets before I tucked him in." Dean chuckled at the memories. "So stealing at a young age."
Sam laughed. "It's incredible how clear that memory came through , like so bright and up front. I mean we all have dreams and deja vu type thoughts but it's a very clear memory. Ever since we left home I've had some really clear memories and even in the car I dreamed like a little kid and I can remember them."
"So not visions?" Dean frowned.
"No, just… really clear dreams. Mainly of us at the apartment."
"Weird. Let's keep an eye on those." Dean bent and kissed the top of Sam's head.
Just as Dean straightened a lady in a large straw hat came out of the door ready to use the pool. They decided to go back upstairs and got there as the food was being delivered. They had a quick shower and sat down for the still hot food. Dean had ordered tacos and burritos as well as pancakes and egg and bacon. Sam was so engrossed with the food he didn't see Dean pick up the tourist guide until he spoke up.
"What do you want to do today?"
"What do you mean?" Sam wiped his lips with a napkin.
"Well, I know you haven't been to Mexico so I thought you may want to see the sights, at least this morning while we have a bit of time."
Sam got up and leaned over Dean's shoulder. "What's good?"
"No idea. This says Palacio de Gobierno is nice to look at."
"Okay, that sounds good, its close by. Anything else?" Sam brushed his nose through Dean's hair looking at the screen. "Catedral de chihuahua, that sounds like us."
"It's close, There's a bit in that area within walkin distance. We just have to be back here for that phone call."
"Hmm, okay. We've been so lucky with your hair, babe. It almost needs a cut." Sam ran both hands through Deans hair then kissed his hair down to his neck then around to the front.
"We can go in together." Dean smiled.
"Its not that bad." Sam pretended to be affronted.
"Its getting there. I can't bitch too much, you shaved all during the break."
"Well, so did you." Sam kept kissing Dean's face.
"Only because I didn't fancy a spewy beard."
Sam laughed into Dean's neck than ran a hand down his face. "You'd look good with a beard."
"I've never done it." Dean frowned.
"Okay, so new bet: who can grow the best beard."
"How do we judge that?"
"Ask a stranger." Sam finally sat back down facing Dean.
"Or Bobby." Dean suggested.
"Ask a stranger." They both shouted then laughed loudly.
"We've seen his beard." Sam smiled.
"Very true. I bought him beard conditioner for Christmas from a gas station one year. Straight in the trash. He thought it was a joke present."
"Ouch. So we going out or staying put?"
"We should go since we are here and having a holiday at the same time."
