Tokyo Japan November 4th, 2005, 1 year LATER

One year has passed, three hundred and sixty-five days have gone since one special boy lost his family, but he had to keep going, he needed to survive.

No longer living in an alleyway, he moved his box home to a roof of a less populated area of the city as to what he is doing you may ask.

"Hey get back here!" A fat man yelled as ren ran down the street, strafing left and right to avoid bumping into people as it would slow him down. "Stop that kid!" Yelling was heard as the chase was still going, small turns, and long walkways that lead forward but then came a familiar sight as the hooded boy made a turn. "Now I gotcha." The man said hoping to catch his thief. "HA!" When he came around and saw a wall, now people, no nothing. "How did? AARRRGH!" He yelled angrily as he left as he did not look up as ren stuck his hands to the wall and climbed up.

"Sucker." He said giggling as he climbed up with his newly acquired food. Some glazed sweets were more worth the trouble as he sank his teeth into them "MMMM! So good." He said enjoying it one bite each of the two taking turns eating one and the other, after about 5 minutes he was done, belching loud signaling he was satisfied. "Much better." He then jumped over from one rooftop to the next making to a makeshift tent with the small box outside, since it was a little worn and ren immediately sat down in the tent, it was a makeshift home for him. "What an outing." He said relaxing a bit, but something felt off, something different about today but he cannot put a finger on it. "Hmmm?" He pondered He then walked to look over the side of the building to see what was going on in the street. One sign said the date was November 4th, 2005.

"Oh, right that's today." He that it was his birthday nine years have gone past for him being on this earth, it felt like it was just yesterday he was in a better place but now, he is not, now upset by this as he walked away. "Why me, why do bad things happen to me." He asked himself but nothing or no one would give him an answer.

"Doesn't matter." He spoke as he was looking at his makeshift home "Survive all you can do is survive." He said to himself as it is way to keep moving forward.

WWWWWWWWWWRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!

His ears flickered as he heard a loud screech. He looked over the side of the building again to see a truck running down a street at high speed on the side had a E.G on it as it made very rough turns, the more turns it takes cause the truck door to opened suddenly. Ren climbed down as he saw it leaves that street in a hurry.

"W-weird." His eyes flickered again, looking to see where the noise was coming from till, he looked at the curb in front of him. It was an egg. A medium sized egg as it rolled across the street, ren then realized the sound was a heartbeat.

"Oh no." He saw the oncoming traffic, the egg rolling out. Instinct kicked in.

BEEP!

Running out in the street and getting the egg, he made it to the other side holding it in his hands as he looked down on it.

"Almost got crushed their little guy." He said to the egg. Mostly likely fell off the truck when it passed by, but this was still a larger than normal egg. "Wonder what was big enough to lay you." He said inspecting it further. A nine-year-old lizard child and an egg was as you can say out of the ordinary.

"I'll take of you." He said walking away with it.

10 minutes later.

Back up to his makeshift home, He learned to care for an egg is to keep it warm, so he made a small fire pit around it, placing it on top of the wood and the flames.

"That should do it." He spoke about his accomplishment. He then took a book off a pile to read it again as for the other books, he has occasion stole them from a local library not far.

"Okay next, keep warm and egg will hatch." The book said as he looked at the fire with the egg on top of it. He closed the book and scoot a bit closer to the fire, he placed his hand on the egg, knowing the fire would not hurt him. "Just going to be you and me from now on, I know it looks bad being all alone but do not worry I am right here. We will survive together and thanks for being a part of my life." He said pulling his hand back, going back into the tent and falling asleep, wrapping his tail around him like a cat.

Tomorrow is a new day for the boy.

Crack.

The next day.

Another slightly cloudy day came as ren stirred, getting his eyes open.

Crack, crack.

"Huh?" His ears flickered as the egg was hatching, he got closer to it as he wondered what would come out of it. One piece of the shell fell showing an opened amber colored eye with white skin.

"Wow." He said, piece by piece of the shell fell as more of what came out emerged.

"AAGGHH!" A small little roar was heard as what ren though might have been a bird's egg but what came out was a medium sized white lizard.

"Hey, you're just like me." He said as both share their lizard like appearance.

"AAAGH!" It yelped out as it tumbled a bit to the ground.

"Easy their little guy." Ren then got a better look at its underside. "Sorry girl."

"Rah." It roared at him as it rolled onto its stomach. Looking at it more closely it is skin is pure white like snow, three to four fingers with claws, big feet, and quills on the top of its back. Ren was curious as it just stared at him.

"You might be hungry." He asked himself as he looked at it. "Guess it is a perfect opportunity for a food run. He said getting ready to leave.

"Rah." The creature roared out as ren knew he could not leave it alone.

5 minutes later

"How is that." Ren said as she found a backpack and stuffed the lizard in it.

"Rah."

"Good now let us get some breakfast." He said carrying the bag and he climbed down the roof.

5 minutes later.

He made it to the place that he always stole food from. Casually walking through with his ragged, hooded clothes and a backpack, looking around for easy food to steal, ranging from bags of chips, fruit, bread, and canned goods.

"Where is the meat." Ren asked as he looked around further, heading into the freezer section. Ren saw foods ranging from frozen chicken, raw meats, dumplings.

"Dumplings." Ren likes dumplings as he drooled. "Focus, focus." He said trying to see if the coast is clear. It was he stuffed some of them in the backpack about 3 boxes, then some chicken then, meat and veggies along with some noodles. "Okay should be enough." He said as he read to leave, He walked to the front entrance.

"HEY!" A guard yelled at ren as he turned around. "You got anything in that bag kid."

"N-no nothing whatsoever."

"Rah!" the bag was moving as ren was worried.

"You have an animal in their son."

"Um? No." Ren said to him

"I am going to have to look in that bag son, WAH! Hey!" Ren booked it as he ran, security systems blaring as he ran out the door. "Hey stop!" The guard said as ren kept running and running till he saw no one behind him.

"Alright girls think we are in the clear." He settled down to open the bag to see her ripping open the boxes of chicken. "Hey! Come on you got to share." He said as it looked at him and then the food as she grabbed one piece with her mouth and pointed at ren. "Thank you." He said eating a piece of chicken, he looked at the white lizard again and thought of what to call it. "Think I am going to call you, fang." She looked at ren again and wagged her tail. "You like that."

"Rarr!" She responded back

"Fang it is then." He said and started to hear siren with his ears. "We better get going." He picked up the backpack again and ran once more.

10 minutes later

Both ren and fang, feasted upon the spoils of their food as they chowed down on them. Ren eating dumplings tossing one or three in his mouth, fang was chewing on a red piece of meat. The two enjoyed themselves.

"So good." Ren was about to eat one more.

"Such a good boy." Hearing a women's voice in his head caused him to stop eating as he looked at the food, Fang stopped eating as she looked at him with amber colored eyes.

"Rahr." She barked at him.

"I-I know this is wrong, but I got to survive somehow, we both do." He looked at fang.

SIRENS BLARRING

Ren heard the sirens again as he looked over the side of the building as he saw officers with security camera pictures of ren stealing food, more then once as it now caught up to him. Ren then walked back to the tent.

"Well fang looks like we're moving." He said putting some food, a notebook and then fang herself in the backpack. "Ready girl."

"Rahr!"

"Ok let's leave this city." He said as started to jump from rooftop to rooftop, passing from street to street, building to building, running most of the way, not stopping for anything till he reached the city limits. He looked at the city of Tokyo, one last time and ran down the road leading to the open countryside of Japan.

3 days later.

Three days of running, walking, hitchhiking. Ren walked on the open road, even letting fang out to walk next to him as they figured out where to go next.

"Where you think we should go fang."

"Rahr."

"No we cannot go back to the store."

"Raah!"

"Because they know what I look like, well not fully but better go somewhere that is easier to steal."

"RRAAH!"

"Do not worry we will get some more food, got to find some good meat." Ren said as he stared as the wilderness before him. "Hopefully." He said as the two kept walking.

"AAAAAAAAHAHHHHHHH!"

His ears flickered as he heard a scream from the woods ahead. Both him and fang looked ahead.

"You heard that." He asked as fang nodded her head. Ren's first thought was to ignore it but something inside told him to see what it was which he sighed. "Better go check it out come on fang."

"RAHR!" The small lizard walked behind ren as they investigated the disturbance.

Going further into the forest, stepping over some branches, pebbles and fang following him. They kept going to find what the sound was.

"Okay fang stay close." Ren said as they kept going. His ears flickered as he heard more noise which sounded like... tears? He then stumbled on a small hill and seeing some raven like color in the distance., getting closer and closer, walking around a boulder to see a girl with long raven like hair, crying, hiding her face as ren watched her girl, making him a bit sad for her.

"H-hello." She was startled as she saw this ragged clothed kid find her.

"S-stay away from me."

"Sorry, I just heard you crying and, and." He looked at her and saw how sad she was, runny nose, teary eyes, and her heart beating faster. "Why are you crying."

"I-I lost my mother." She said as ren knows the pain.

"I did too." She looked at him and saw sadness in those eyes but determination. "Do you want to come with us."

"Who's us."

"Rahr!" Fang walked past run and stopped in front of the girl.

"Hey! Fang waits." He said as she sniffed her and then licked her face. "Sorry." He then heard giggling as she started to laugh.

"It is fine." She said letting fang lick her. "Nice to meet you." She said as fang wagged her tail.

"I know that you want to be by yourself in your time of sadness, but it might be better if your around someone who know how to deal with it." He said to her, she looked at him and saw in her own eyes, light as her face was a bit red.

"Okay. "She stood up wearing a purple shirt and shorts. "Where we are going."

"To find food, hungry."

"I could eat." She then followed ren up the hill. "I am Akeno by the way."

"I'm Ren and this is fang."

"Nice to meet you Ren and fang." She said following the strange boy and lizard. Now a company of one, turned into 2 then into 3, traveling in the woods of Japan. Who knows what could happen.
