yo. been a month, eh? here's the new chapter! let's get it on!

It was a peaceful morning in the middle of the forest with the rays of the sun kissing the green grass providing warmth. Far from the noise of the city and the toxic smoke their vehicles emit, the animals are safe and secure in the hands of mother nature. Barring wandering predators. But that is just how the circle of life works in these parts.

A small squirrel skittered across the grassy land, searching high and low for food to store this upcoming winter. The critters ears perked up at the sound of footsteps and then the rustling of leaves coming from below. Peering down from the branch it's on, it continued on its way when it realized that it was just a mere human rummaging through a bush.

The human in question was Nathaniel, who is currently searching for herbs nearby. He used some of his potions as a substitute for the machine he built. But due to his discovery that he is officially stuck in this world, and the machine was deemed useless, he decided to restock and make some more.

It won't hurt just to be prepared. Who knows? There might be someone who would need his help, like, an injured person who'd just 'fall' out of the sky.

"Of course, that wouldn't happen." He smiled at that and looked up in the sky just for the kicks…

Nothing.

Shaking his head ridiculously, he checked his small bucket filled with colorful plants he had acquired, both poisonous and not, and nodded to himself. That'll be enough for today, he thought. It's time to get back to his laboratory and refine these herbs.

Taking his time to enjoy the greenery in his walk, he pondered whatever he shall do now that he is forever stranded in this world. During his initial stay here, his daily schedule consists of work, performing songs, and repeating. Along with the occasional hunting for sport that serves as his small exercise.

Yesterday, he offered a kid named Izuku to teach him how to fight and reach his dream of becoming a hero even without a quirk. But that would soon change with his plan of giving the boy a quirk. Immediately after he arrived home, he pulled up all the books that he'd duplicated over the past months about quirks and the science behind them. Nate has a couple of hypotheses on how to make the ritual work with improvised ingredients, but he needs to research more into it just to make it safe.

Besides teaching young Izuku how to defend himself and researching quirks, he still has some spare time on his hands. Yup, that's probably enough things to keep himself occupied.

Soon, Nate was greeted with the sweet sound of waterfalls. Right by it is a small but simple-looking cottage. His humble abode. Initially, he found it during his third month in this world as a run-down fort. He guessed that it was a 'hideout' by the children who built it, and was simply forgotten by time.

So, he decided to renovate it.

He made it a bit more accommodating by adding the basics of a house, like a kitchen, dining room, bathroom, etc. While a water wheel was sitting by the river for his electricity. In honor of the previous owners, he did his best to make it look close to the original. Blue walls, red roofs, and doors, even the swing set next to it. Magic was really useful, especially with making the dye for it.

Now, this is where he lives. Sure, he has his Adventurers Pack, but that's where he does most of his important work. It is also where he hides his laboratory and the machine.

Besides, the crashing of the waterfall beside his house, the tall trees that provided a nice shade from the harsh weather, be it sunny or rainy, and the animals that he meets from time to time provided a homey feeling and reminds him of his childhood. Even though his family was forced to move into the kingdoms for protection due to dangerous circumstances, he was born a country boy.

Entering his home, he placed his basket on a table and went to the kitchen. He opened his fridge and grabbed some meat, only to realize that it has been a month since he last opened this thing and everything here is probably spoilt. The only thing he ate during his lockdown was canned food. Kind of unhealthy, but it was enough to get by.

Sighing in disappointment at the waste of food, he grabbed his satchel bag and looked inside for his Equip card, which stores his hunting gear. But the grumbling in his stomach wanted something to gnaw at right away. So instead, he went to his closet to find his jar of money.

Grabbing some of it, he changed into some appropriate clothes, a blue shirt, jeans, and shoes, before slinging his bag over his shoulder and placing the hat on his head. Getting comfortable, he opened the door and got outside…

… Not even two steps away from his door, his eyes bulged when he heard a loud crash and the breaking of wood.

Going back inside his house, the first thing he saw was the large hole in the roof. Then in the middle of the living room were two individuals. He was familiar with one of them; it was the lady enfor - hero - with the rabbit magic whose name he forgot. It has been a long time since then and it was their only meeting. While the person she was pinning down was unknown, only wearing some plain clothes with a thin body. Though with the bruises that he sees on both of them, they were in a fight, and he could guess that this guy is a villain.

The rabbit lady took notice of him and then shouted, "Hey! You better get out of here now! There's-!"

The wind howled unnaturally outside, interrupting whatever else she was about to say. The rabbit lady went on alert, her neck snapping around for threats.

"Shit! I forgot about the other guy…! I thought Ingenium had already got him…" muttered the rabbit lady under her breath.

The man beneath the heroine, meanwhile, simply grinned as flames erupted from his hands, pushing her away, shocking Nate. The fire caught on a nearby piece of furniture as it soon spread across.

Nate gawked. But, it was then that he noticed something glowing in the man's right hand. At the back of his hand was something he never thought he would see in this world. It was a bright red symbol of fire, with glowing runes encircling it.

"Pyro magic…"

The heroine heard it and turned to him. "You know about 'em?"

Nate was about to respond, but the wind suddenly became stronger. Then, another figure dropped down from the hole and landed beside the Pyromancer. He was bald with muscles in his body, wearing a tank top and cargo shorts. At the back of his hand, he spotted silver runes with a symbol depicting three spirals.

"Aero magic…"

The Aeromancer motioned for his companion. "We should leave. Team Idaten is coming."

The Pyromancer glared at the leotard-wearing heroine, but the muscled man moved his arm in front of him. Giving him a look that it wasn't a request.

"Tch… Fine…" They both moved back, and the symbols on their hands glowed.

The heroine's instincts blared and immediately grabbed the civilian (Nate), bolting right out of the house right as the two cast their respective magics to propel themselves into the air. The combination of fire and wind made it so the flames quickly spread throughout the house and engulfed the entire building in flames within seconds.

Body skidding across the ground, the rabbit lady yelled in pain. Getting up, Nate asked what was wrong before blanching. On her back was a huge gash of third-degree burn. Her hair was singed halfway and clothes were burned, barely holding on to cover the remains of her modesty.

Looking back at his burning house, then at the heroine beside him, he sprung into action. He clapped his hands together as dark blue runes appeared on his wrists, and waved his hands over the rabbit lady, covering her in a blue aura.

Then, he moved her into a safer place, further away from the hazard. Once he laid her onto a large piece of cloth that he procured from his bag, he turned towards the waterfall. Waving his hands, he redirected the flow of the water onto the burning house. Seeing that the fire had been extinguished, he returned to heroine.

Switch flipping into doctor mode, he began to work. Gently lying her down on her stomach, he inspected how large the wound was. He opened his bag, fishing out a small box, a couple of dried leaves, a small cloth, and a roll of gauze.

Swiping off her long hair to get it out of the way, the heroine grunts in pain and tries to move. Nate lightly held her arm and rubbed it assuredly. "Hey, try not to move so much. You have a burn on your back and I'm going to heal it."

It must be the adrenaline in her body that kept her going, but the rabbit lady didn't deter. Her breath ragged as she struggled to get up, so Nate continued.

"The villains have already escaped." She stopped. Seems like she can still hear clearly. "They're already far away, so there's no need for you to catch them. Not in this state anyway."

Her body became lax as she groaned. Probably disappointed that it happened. Nate handed the cloth towards the mouth of the heroine. "Bite it. The wound is pretty severe, so I have to use a method that is not so good to the touch."

When he saw the woman open her mouth and bit it. Nathaniel breathes for a moment. Now comes the painful part…

Opening the small box, he took a few dabs of it into his hand before crushing and rubbing it together with the dried leaves. Green runes materialized on his wrists as he whispered the right incantation. Then, his hands burst out in green flames that encased his palms.

"Alright, on three…"

Without even counting, Nate quickly spreads the healing fire onto the burn. Shocked, the heroine only bit into the cloth harder than she thought as she howled in pain, the cloth in her mouth muffling the sound.

Nate grimaced, "Sorry, lady! But I had to surprise you so your body won't tense up once I applied this!"

Moments later, the pain slowly died out and the flames didn't hurt that much anymore. Rather, it feels kind of soothing. She spat out the cloth and took a glance at the civilian. With the position she's in, he can only see his head.

"You a doctor?" She asked, finally gaining the strength to talk.

"Yes, I am." He smiled and tipped his hat. "Newton Nathaniel, at your service."

She paused for a moment before speaking again. "Nice to meet ya, Doc. I'm Mirko."

Now he remembers her name. Though he gave her a questioning look. It seems like she read his mind and answered. "English ain't really my thing."

Nate chuckled, accepting the reason. "Well, you're welcome, Bugs."

She glared at the man, but seeing the smirk on his face, she laughed out loud and both returned to the comfortable silence.

The green flames are already running out, and Nate can already see that the spell is working. Mirko's flesh was slowly mending itself back together.

"Alright. That should do it for now," he said. "I should probably heal your bruises as well."

"Thanks for patching me up, Doc. But you've done enough." Nate helped her as Mirko slowly sat up. She groaned as the pain lingers for a moment. "Damn, I'll probably feel this tomorrow…"

"I'd like to thank you, by the way. If it weren't for you, I'd be dead and burned into the fire."

Mirko cracked her neck and nodded with a smirk. "No problem, Doc! Though I have to wonder, what are you doing in these woods anyway? And what happened to the fire? Was I dazed for too long that it burned out?"

"In order, this is where I live. I just splashed some water on it using the waterfall and no, you weren't knocked out or anything." Nate replied.

She tilted her head to the side and focused on his second statement. 'Just splashed some water'? Looking back at the charred building, she could see that it was small, but clearly, the whole house was set on fire. How did he put out that scale of fire? Did he have some sort of water manipulation quirk? Then, what the heck did he use to heal her?

Questions popped into her mind, but it were answered when she saw what was on his wrists. Her eyes gained a dark look as she quickly backed away, and took a stance, shocking the doctor. Though the exhaustion was already catching up on her and she fell on one knee.

"Whoa! What's wrong, Mirko?" He asked innocently.

The heroine simply glared at Nate. "I dunno, you tell me. Who are you really? Huh? Are you with them?" Nathaniel raised his hands in defense. Shocked at the sudden hostility. She continued. "You're probably their medic and sent you in to act like a civilian who 'just happens to live here', then heal and capture me for their experiments."

Nate blinked and guessed that she was talking about the Elemental mages from earlier. She probably thought that he was with them upon seeing his healing runes that were still active.

He was about to respond before he felt something out of place. Hearing something sputtering, he looked at his hands and sees the runes blinking out before ultimately shattering. He shook his hands, but felt his Mana Circuits closing. These things made him realize one thing.

'There's a Disabler nearby…!'

Instincts yelling at him, he quickly rolled out of the way. Just in time to dodge some strands of metallic cloth trying to bind him. Weirdly, Nate heard the sound of an engine. Turning around, he barely avoided the incoming punch moving at high speeds!

The distraction was enough for the cloths to make a return and wrap around him, preventing his movement as he fell to the ground. Soon, more people - other heroes, Nate assumed - came out of the woods, surrounding the vicinity.

A man dropped down from the trees. His hair, which looked like it was floating, was long and shaggy; it almost made him look like a homeless guy. His clothes consist of simple black long sleeves, pants, and boots, and sporting yellow goggles that covered his eyes. This was the man who caught him. The same cloth around his neck that looked like a scarf was enough of an indication.

The other man who went in for the punch wore full white armor with mufflers sticking out of his elbows and approached him. In his hands are a pair of cuffs. He can already tell what's about to happen. Nodding at the goggled man, he crouched and reached for his hands.

Nate opted to open his mouth to explain, but the cloths moved and wrapped around his mouth, preventing him from uttering a word. Once the cuffs clicked and locked, he saw the scarf man's hair gain weight and fell on his shoulders. For a split second, he felt his connection with his Mana Circuits before it disappeared as fast as it came.

He assumed the guy's quirk was similar to a Disabler's, and that the cuffs were the real Disablers. An interesting quirk to have, in his honest opinion. Taking away his bag, they dragged him out of the woods, and after a lengthy walk, they took him inside a cab with the other villains they captured.

Trapped between two hulking figures, Nate could only sigh at his fate.

He knew that getting caught was inevitable; he wasn't just expecting it to come so soon. He could try to escape, but that would mean having the authorities hanging on his back. Been there, done that.

He then remembered his meeting with Izuku's parents tomorrow. He can only hope he could explain well enough to the family about his situation.

Ida Tensei, more commonly known as Ingenium, sighed as he collapsed onto a nearby bench. It has been a hectic week for him and Team Idaten. Apparently, powerful elemental quirk users have been popping up left and right the past three weeks. And with their agency's expertise in capturing villains, they have been assigned as the forefront of the operation.

Their target villains have one thing in common: when they use their quirk, some glowing writings appear on the back of their hands. It can also be a good indication of what element they have and use it as an advantage for coming up with strategies for capturing them easier. Blue for water, red for fire, gold for earth, silver for wind, yellow for lightning, and light blue for ice.

It was also noted the fact that some have another quirk. It was then that the investigators theorized that these elemental quirks were not actually quirks, but something else entirely. It seems like someone or something has been granting it to these villains and using them as test subjects. During the briefing, he noticed how All Might's smile faltered a bit, but shrugged it off as something that the hero hates the most.

After today's round, they captured more of these villains, while some managed to escape. Mirko, one of the newest heroes who tagged along with the operation, said she takes responsibility for that, but none really blamed her that much.

However, there is something to take note of during her report. She said she accidentally broke into a civilian's house during the chase in the woods. The owner was named (after many attempts at saying it) Newton Nathaniel. He was also the one responsible for healing her when her back was burned due to the house fire. She cut off a few lengths of her hair as part of it burned off. Now it only reached her shoulders.

After she was healed, she noticed the same markings that their targets had. Granted, the marks appeared around his wrists, and not at the back of his hand, but it were the same nonetheless.

Aizawa Shouta, aka Eraserhead, can attest to that, saying that he saw more before Mirko was healed. Dark blue marking appeared, and the man used it to control the flow of the waterfall and extinguish the flames of his house. With these factors alone, it was rational to take the man for questioning. Just because he helped one of theirs, doesn't mean that Newton was good. Tonight, they will be asking him some questions.

Heavy footsteps and metal clanking grabbed Tensei's attention. Looking to the side, he saw the Equip hero in his full gear, walking with purpose. Standing up, he greeted the top-ranking hero.

"Yoroi Musha-san." He bowed.

Yoroi raised a hand. "No need for formalities, Ingenium-kun. In fact, I should be the one addressing you as such. You are, after all, the head of the whole operation."

Tensei blushed and rubbed his neck sheepishly. "Hehe, I guess you're right. Are you heading to the meeting room?" The Equip hero nodded. "I was about to go there. Would you mind if I came with you?"

"Of course. I would greatly enjoy the company."

They spent their walk with light conversations about their missions, trainees, and the like. When they arrived in the meeting room, they saw many of their fellow heroes chatting, like Gang Orca, Best Jeanist, and Mirko. While the more serious ones, like Endeavor, Eraser, and some officers, can be seen overlooking the reports sprawled on the table.

It seems like they're late.

"You're late." Even though Endeavor didn't shout, his deep voice was enough to alert the whole room of their arrival.

"Apologies. It seems like Ingenium-kun has been a bit tired and needed a moment to catch a breather," said Musha.

Strangely, the principal of UA was also here. Along with some other UA staff like Present Mic and Midnight. He wasn't at the first briefing. "It is quite understandable. Every hero needs a rest now and then."

Besides the animal hybrid, All Might gave him a thumbs up. "He is right, Ingenium-kun! Always remember not to overwork yourself, or else you'll burn yourself out!"

"Reminds me of a certain hero I know." Nedzu playfully chided.

All Might only boomed in laughter and waved his hand. "Ah, I just do my job the best I can! It seems like I just can't be stopped!"

Most of the room chuckled at their little banter until Detective Tsukauchi chimed in.

"Alright. Since we're all here, I suppose we can begin." They all went silent and took their seats. The detective nodded to another officer with a cat head and turned on the projector.

The first slide was multiple mugshots of the villains they apprehended. "As of this morning, news of the appearance of the elemental villains was significantly lowered. We can safely assume that we have dwindled their numbers. Either by capturing them, or by going in hiding for those who have escaped, and haven't been caught on our radar."

He bowed in thanks to the present heroes in the room, and proceeded. The projector then panned to the slides that showed images of the villains on the street.

"We are still tracking down the source of where these villains got their abilities." He locked eyes with a certain hero for a moment, unnoticed by all, "but so far, we have no lead as to who or where they got it from. Our scientists have investigated the dead bodies of some of the unlucky villains who resisted but are still unsure of the origins of their elemental quirks. Why do they all have the same method of activation and why is it only about elements."

"That's all we have about the villains. Now, let's move to the next topic of things…" Tsukauchi then sighed and placed his hand on the table, scepticism on his face. The heroes raised a brow at his reaction.

The detective regained his bearings and cleared his throat. As he recounted the report from Ingenium's group, the gathered heroes listened with curious expressions. After the brief summary, they assumed that he was a new variation of these villains, whereas this time it was a support type. Since this is the first time they have heard of one, along with the fact that this man lives in an isolated area in the woods and skill set. He might be an important person to take note of.

The next slide showed security footage of the man in question performing in the streets, guitar in hand. A couple of passersby tossed a few yen or stopped to listen. Another footage was shown as the man rode a bike with a box lying inside its basket.

"Hey, I know that guy!"

The heroes turned to who said it, turning up to be none other than Yamada Hizashi, or Present Mic.

"You know him?" Best Jeanist asked the question of most of the rooms occupants.

"We do." A woman beside the Voice hero responds, instead. Kayama Nemuri, going by Midnight. "We see him performing songs on the streets during our patrols. He joins the band who sings at the local diner in Shizouka as a bassist or vocals sometimes."

"That is indeed factual, according to our investigators. I can also verify that as I have been in the diner a couple times." The detective chuckled. "From what we could gather for the past few hours, Newton-san can be seen performing in the streets all around Shizouka, all the while doing delivery work for the diner we mentioned."

"Then what was so weird about him?" asked Mic.

"Everything I've told you about this person… is literally all we know about him." The revelation surprised the heroes. That can't be true, they thought. Tsukauchi somehow knew what they were thinking and continued.

The projector then displayed two pictures. One is of multiple vials of different colors and bottles containing pills. Beside them is a line of surgical tools like scissors, tweezers, and scalpels. The other one showed a few yen in cash and coins, a phone, stacks of cards, a gray fedora, and a strange rectangular device the size of a hand.

"We confiscated his belonging and searched his seemingly bottomless bag. However, these are the only things we found. No ID, birth certificate, nothing." replied Tsukauchi, shrugging. "Maybe they were caught in the fire, who knows? I even asked the European division, more specifically, England, to search for any records about Newton-san. They answered a few minutes before this meeting started, and they came up with the same results."

"It's like the man doesn't even exist." Concluded Gang Orca. The rest of the heroes agreed.

"Wait, hold up…" chimed Mic, turning their attention to him. "If you didn't find any piece of legal info about the guy, then how did you know which country to ask about it?"

Tsukauchi reached under the table and tossed it in the middle where everyone could see. They were three photos. The heroes converged to inspect them. One picture caught Mirko's eye as she grabbed it.

The context suggests that it's a graduation photo as Nate was seen wearing a black gown, green sash, and cap. A boy who looked to be in his teens was trapped in the arms of Nathaniel in a bear hug.

It looks like he got his looks from his mother, who also has green strands on her short hair flowing at the tips and sharp emerald eyes. Well, eye, in the mother's case. Her right one was covered in an eyepatch.

The boy in Nate's arms, meanwhile, is the spitting image of their father. Both have big, round, red eyes, and a beauty mark under their mouths. The older man wore square-framed glasses and a gray fedora.

'That hat looked familiar…' she thought. Looking back at the screen which was still on the slide that shows the items they found in Nathaniel's bag. One of them being a gray hat. Oh…

"We found these pictures in the remains of the house." The voice of Tsukauchi brought Mirko back as she listened. "Strangely enough, they weren't caught in the fire. Not even singed."

"This guy's case just keeps getting weirder and weirder…" muttered Mic. He too, held a picture in his hands. Mirko squinted her eyes and saw some writing behind it. She turned her own photo around, realizing that it also has writings.

"'I finally graduated from Atkins University. Congrats, me!'? Hey, Mic," She called out to the blond man. "Can you read what's behind that?"

Raising a brow, the Voice hero flipped it and read. "Oh, would ya look at that? It says here: 'Jeremiah Jenkins, Archibald Roundsman V, Nathaniel Newton, and Elise Langley. Founders of E. N. Ar. J. Corporation'."

Setting down the picture so that everyone could see, showing the four friends in formal clothing standing in front of a building with a plaque that has the name of their corporation.

They were impressed. Seems like this Newton guy is much more than meets the eye.

"So, that's how you figured out where to find his origins? You found their company?" asked Nedzu.

"I didn't, actually. The company doesn't exist as well. Even the university." Now they were back at being confused once again. As the Voice hero said, it just keeps getting weirder and weirder. "The clue I had belongs to the third picture. Eraserhead-san, do you mind?"

Shifting from his seat, Shouta reached for the third and last picture, but skipped the picture itself and moved to the writings behind it. "'Sir. Nicholas Newton. Officially knighted by King Archibald Roundsman II as one of the new members of the kingdom's garrison. Mom and Dad would be proud.'."

The heroes immediately knew what the last line meant and felt sympathy for the man. Seems like Mirko's guess about the parents being dead was right. It only cemented it when she saw what the picture looked like.

It was only the brothers in it. Nicholas was wearing a combination of light metal armor and leather padding with his helm held in his arm. Nate, meanwhile, now dons the hat his father wore. She also took note of how his arm was in a sling and compared to the graduation picture, his eyes seemed a bit darker.

"The second?" Muttered Jeanist, who now holds the picture. "Is the king related to the man in the second picture?"

Mic chimed in. "I thought so, too! Does that make him a prince?"

"Well, he looks like a prince, that's for sure…" Midnight licked her lips sensually. Eyeing the man for what it's worth.

Meanwhile, in another universe, Archie woke up with a start. His spine tingled for unknown reasons. Unsure of what it was, he simply went back to bed and hugged his wife tighter.

"I believe that's all we've gathered on our person of interest from the last 6 hours." Feeling his phone vibrate, Naomasa fished it out of his pocket. He read the text. "I've been notified that Newton-san has been prepared for questioning in the interrogation room. Follow me, please."

The heroes stood and left the room. Trailing behind the detective. As they walked, they encountered many criminals who were being dragged by officers into their cells. To say that they were pissing their pants when they saw them would be an understatement. Who wouldn't when you have almost a dozen heroes together with the strongest and the most fearsome titans in their ranks.

In a couple of minutes, they arrived at the hallway that leads to the observation room. Mirko was slightly surprised they all managed to fit in there. Looking through the one-sided glass, she could see Nate patiently waiting from the other side, quirk suppressors locked on his wrists.

"What is he doing?" Muttered Gang Orca.

Looking closely, they could see Nathaniel's mouth moving and his head slowly swaying from side to side. The detective pressed a button as the speakers came to life, picking up whatever Nate was saying.

["Fly away~ Skyline pigeon fly~ Towards the dream you left so very far behind~"]

"Is he singing?" Mirko couldn't believe what she's seeing right now. The guy was seriously singing even in his current position. She had to admit, she doesn't even recognize the song because it's in English, but his voice does sound pretty nice. Based on the tune, it's probably pop. Though she much prefers some rock.

"Mm-mmm! Elton John!" Moaned Present Mic. "I didn't peg him for being a pre-quirk era guy~!"

"That song is from that time?" asked Mirko.

"Yup! I could lend ya some of my stash if you're interested!"

"I could wrap my binds around your mouth instead if you're interested." Snarked Eraserhead, inching his binding cloths near his face to get the point across. "We're here to get some answers from this man, not to attend a concert."

Mic sweat dropped and slowly backed away. Midnight quietly laughed at her friends' antics.

Tsukauchi momentarily looked back at the blonde giant. He could see through that smiling facade of his is a man who held a grim look on his face. Dreading the possibility that 'that man' may be back after all the beatings he suffered.

"Detective." called out Nedzu from All Might's shoulder, bringing him back to the present. That look the animal hybrid gave him made Tsukauchi sure that the principal was also thinking the same as them. He must be here to see for himself if that was the case. "Shall we begin?"

He nodded. "Right."

Adjusting his tie, he inserted something in his ear and entered through the door. Upon stepping inside, Nate snapped out of his reverie.

"Oh… Hi there." He awkwardly waved his hand.

Naomasa smiled, waving back. He took the seat across Nathaniel's and gingerly sat.

"Do you speak Japanese?" Asked the detective.

"Yes, I do." Was the reply.

"Great! I just want to be sure."

He took notice of how Nathaniel kept looking back at the door. Tilting his head, he questioned what was wrong.

"Oh, nothing. I was expecting that there would be two of you officers who'd be interrogating me." He laughed to himself and twiddled his thumbs. "Ya know… some good ol'e 'good cop, bad cop' routine."

Naomasa found himself chuckling at the joke. "No, no. We don't do that here." He flipped through the pages of the copied files about him that he brought along and spread it out on the table for Nate to see.

"Now, I won't be beating around the bush with you, Newton-san. According to our researchers, these are the only things we found in your records. Or rather, the lack of it." He said.

"Why is that?"

The detective watched as Nathaniel skimmed through the files before he stopped at a specific page. One that tucks in the pictures that they found in what was left of his house. He held the photos longingly with a smile before placing it back.

"May I ask for your name, sir?" He asked calmly.

He replied in kind "I am detective Tsukauchi Naomasa."

Nathaniel nodded. "Tsukauchi-san, I would like you to know that I am willing to cooperate and answer all your questions."

Brows knotted in confusion, he took it with a grain of salt. Surely it can't be that easy, right? Nathaniel continued. "However, be warned that my origins are something you may not believe without seeing. Though, I suppose you have a quirk or a device lying around to handle that."

Unperturbed by the implications that he might know about his quirk, the detective activated it regardless. He probably knows how to work his way around it, but he is no one trick pony. Naomasa prides himself on having great deduction skills, sometimes not even needing his quirk. Multiple criminals have tried to fool him and they all ended up in jail. He smiled, taking on the unspoken challenge.

"Try me."

The heroes from the other side of the room watched with their full attention as he leaned closer, fingers entwining.

"My name is Nathaniel Newton, a mage. I am a stranded man from another dimension."

peter griffin voice "nehehehe he said it! he said it!"

short chapter eh? was it worth the wait? pretty sure it wasn't. lmao.

so yeah, Nathaniel was captured. how about that? give it a review and tell me what's wrong. next chapter will cover the interrogation arc then proceed to Izuku training arc. thanks for reading
