And it goes on. The next chapter will be very similar to Shrek 2, so I need a good name for our gingerbread man. Alicia's rivals will also appear in the Cuphead Show adaptation, but Alicia is already with the devil from this story and will reject the other devil. (Of course, one will not take no for an answer)

She was now standing in the hallway and was more than nervous. It seemed to her as if the hallway would stretch into infinity, although it is only a few steps to the next door. Okay Alicia, you've been through worse, you can handle it. she motivated herself. The two Imps waited for her before going to the door that led to the throne room where the devil and the priest were waiting for her. "We don't want to push you, your majesty, but..." said the Imp in front of her. She looked at him and knew what he wanted to say.
Staying here would do no good, she had to move on. "Okay, we can go on," she said with a nod. The Imp in front of her nodded and went ahead to the door while Alicia and the Imp behind her followed him. But before he could even touch the doorknob, Alicia suddenly felt someone standing behind her. Her facial expression changed from nervous to annoyed. She knew who was behind her. "You've got a lot of nerve showing up right now, Dice," she said, turning her head to face him.
He grinned again and that annoyed her even more. "But darling, can't I talk to you?" he said. Talk? About what? She didn't want to say anything at first but nervousness got the upper hand. "About what?", "I'll tell you after the wedding with the boss in my office" he said with a wink before disappearing into the hole from which he came. She growled slightly and her eyes looked like a snake's before they returned to normal. What a... Alicia didn't think about it and went through the door the Imp opened for her. Bright light shone in her eyes as she entered the throne room. She closed her eyes before opening them again after a few seconds and saw the wedding altar where the devil was waiting for her with a dark grey tie around his neck.
Next to him stood the priest. A taller imp with a black priestly robe and a book in his hand standing in front of a table with a golden chalice that looks like a severed claw holding a wine glass. I guess that's the liquid that makes me immortal. Alicia guessed as they slowly approached the two. Only now she noticed that outside the throne room several Imps and some of the finest Demons flew to fire at Alicia's rivals or even attack them. But for the moment, everything seems to be fine. No danger was in sight. This calmed Alicia a lot as she stood next to the devil who looked at her and was fascinated by her decorated horns. "You look beautiful my love" he said. She accepted the compliment and blushed a little. "Thank you" she said and looked towards the priest.
"Well then" he cleared his throat before continuing. "We are gathered here to honor the marriage of two demons" he points to the devil and then to Alicia. She was more nervous the abruptly. The devil noticed and tried to calm her down by stroking her cheek. It worked too. "Devil do you wish to take the Alicia standing here before you as your wife and queen?" Both now looked at each other as the priest asked this. The devil was happier and said "Yes I do" the difference in size between Alicia's hand and his could really be seen now. Her hand was not even half the size of his.
"And you Alicia do you wish to take the devil standing here before you as your husband and king?" Alicia knew she could say no, but she didn't want to. "Yes I... do" pleased the devil even more. She also smiled, which meant she was serious. But he could not hug her now. The marriage was not over yet. But every fiber of his body was tingling. He wanted to fly out of the throne room with his dragon form, embrace her and never let go. Oh my queen you please me even more than before thought the devil and tried to calm down but his tail wagged with joy. Alicia saw it and hers wagged too. "If anyone is against the marriage of the two, let him speak now so that-" "Objection!" said a voice. The devil and Alicia looked at the entrance to the throne room where five figures appeared from a cloud of smoke.
The devil growled when he saw the five figures. He knew who it was and stood in front of Alicia to protect her. "Silk..." he growled as his fur slowly began to burn and flare. The smoke disappeared and Alicia looked from behind the devil. She now saw the five rivals. They were Silk that resembled Steele from Balto. Behind her stood a Wasp Demon, a Kitsune Demon, a Cat Demon and a Scorpion Demon. So these are Vespae, Daiyu, Caterina and Scorpina. But Alicia wondered where Lilith was. She didn't want to kill her or she would have already taken the chance and fought her. Her wolf ears did not hear the beating of wings either.
Vespae is a slim anth wasp demon with black eyes and red reflections, long, wavy black hair and curled antennas. She wears a long green strapless and backless dress with a high slit in the left side of the skirt, red ball gown gloves, a black pearl bracelet on her left wrist and a pale grey fur boa over her shoulders and around her arms.
Daiyu an anthpomorphic kitsune she-demon with a slender and elegant build, dark purple fur and a white underside like most foxes, yellow eyes with cat-like pupils, long dark blue-black hair, a fox's tail as well as the two strands that falls over her shoulders. As Alicia already guessed she has nine Tails with white tips and her arms and legs up to her forearms. Her knees are black. She wears a black cheongsam with red a red sash around her waist, red linings and two slits in the skirt for extra mobility. Beneth the cheongsam are blue-black leggings that stops above the knees, long red handles gloves that with a black jade on each of the covered knuckles while her palms are exposed. A gold anklet on her right ankle and a black jade brooch.
Caterina a anthpomorphic cat demoness with a slender and anthletic build, dark grey fur with three black stripes on her upper arms, small curved horns atop of her head, short black hair, yellow eyes and fangs. She wears a medieval style outfit with a bit of black armour, dark brown leggings that reaches above her knees, brown leather spat like coverings around her feet and ankles with the toes and heels exposed like sandals, a long black glove that covers three of her fingers on her pouch around her waist.
And Scorpina a female scorpion demon with a rough and scary looking appearance. Like all scorpions, she has claws instead of hands. Small spines are on the sides of the claws that turn from black to red. She wore a black and red Viking robe with silver decorations on the edge and around the waist. The rest was covered by her tail ending with a pointed spike. That it had poison in it Alicia could not exclude, from the tip was already dripping something that fell to the ground and began to hiss like acid.
She swallowed and hid behind the devil. Why does this always have to happen to me of all people? First the manager was after her, then the devil, and now five jealous women want to go for her throat. "Didn't I ban you from the throneroom the last time you got on my nerves?" said the devil, growling. Silk and Vespae trembled when they saw how angry the devil was. He knew about the Imp poison and he also knew who was responsible for the explosion.
Caterina, Daiyu and Scorpina just rolled their eyes. They would never think of going that far. Caterina, at least, was furious when she learned that Silk had used her bow to secretly kill Alicia. She hid the bow and looked venomously at Silk. The malamute noticed and growled at her. "So you did steal my bow Silk!" hissed Caterina. Silk couldn't help himself and turned to the cat demon. "Oh what's the matter kittens don't like it when people touch your stuff? Then don't leave them lying around" Silk showed her his tongue and gave her a middle finger. "Okay I've had enough!" said Caterina and was about to run towards the Malamute when Daiyu and Scorpina stopped her. "Leave it Caterina Silk is not worth it" said Daiyu and looked angrily at Silk.
"Learn your rank cat I will challenge Alicia first and become rightfully the queen of the devil" said Silk as she walks away from the others and approached the devil and Alicia. The latter still kept Alicia standing behind him. "Stay behind me my love" he said to her softly. Alicia just nodded and stayed behind him. His tail wrapped around her waist. Silk stood just a few feet away from the two. "Oh, doesn't the wolf dare to come out or why is she hiding from such a powerful Alaskan Malamute like me?" said Silk, boasting. But the others knew that she had no other powers except for her strong teeth. "Do we really have to fight?" asked Alicia. But Silk just laughed. "That's a good one. Do we absolutely have to fight. Oh how pathetic hahaha!" Alicia felt a little annoyed. Yep definitely Steele. "Do you seriously think talking will change my mind?" Silk asked her.
Silk tried to approach Alicia but the devil and two of his finest demons got in her way. A polar bear-like demon with muscular arms and paws and an owl demon with sharp talons stood before her. "Let it be Silk or do you want to feel my wrath?" the devil asked her with angry eyes. Silk was sweating with nervousness and fear. Walls of flames appeared around the throne room and prevented anyone from entering. She was locked in and could not escape. But her pride and arrogance were stronger when she saw Alicia exhaling with relief. "Oh, and you really think this wolf here is the perfect queen for Inkwell Hell? She's weak and couldn't even begin to rule a kingdom!" When Silk said that, Alicia herself got angry.
"Did you just call me weak?" she asked Silk. Silk just nodded and wanted to know what would come next. Alicia freed herself from the devil's tail and walked past the devil and the two big demons to stare the Malamute in the eye. "I'll tell you one thing, I'm not weak!" said Alicia. "Then prove it princess!" before Silk could react Alicia had turned into a wolf and jumped towards her with bared teeth. Silk couldn't react that fast and felt the teeth around her neck. Alicia had a firm grip on her. "Argh damn" Silk said before Alicia hurled her out of the throne room and she was caught by a fruit bat demon.
Silk had been defeated out of action. But Alicia ducked as a stinger suddenly flew at her. What Alicia noticed only now was that everything around her was in slow motion. Only she seemed to be normal. Is it me or someone else? she asked herself. Apparently so, because as soon as she looked around, everything was back to normal. "Damn I missed!" someone growled. Alicia turned to the voice and saw Vespae flying in the air while she was growing a new Stinger. So I can control time? Alicia asked herself as she looked at Vespae. In the air, the Wasp Demon had more chances than Alicia in her current form. But fortunately she could transform into a phoenix.
Vespae saw Alicia transform from a wolf into a black phoenix. Fire flamed from the wings and looked threatening to the wasp demon. "Pah I will defeat you and be rightfully queen!" she said and flew towards the phoenix with her outstretched stinger. But Alicia used her new ability and everything was slowed down again. Only Alicia was normal and dodged the incoming Vespae who looked at her with her eyes and did not dodge the talons coming at her in time.
Vespae was caught in the clutches of the phoenix. "Damn it, let me go!" she screamed Alicia didn't think twice when she saw the fountain behind the casino and flew there. The wasp demon already guessed what she was going to do. "Oh no don't you dare throw me into that fountain!". She wriggled and tried to free herself but Alicia held her tightly before she let go and landed in the fountain. She was wet from head to toe and just like Silk out of action. There were only three left to face. So, in her Wyvern form, she flew back to the throne room where a lot had happened while she was busy with Vespae. "What's going on here?" she asked. The remaining rivals were wrapped in chains and led out of the room by the two finest demons.
But it seemed too easy to her. She opened her mouth and spit out a blue fire. Like a canvas, the illusion Alicia had burned and showed what was real. Daiyu stood in front of her with her two red fans. "Fascinating how you destroyed my illusion" she said, approaching her at breakneck speed. But Alicia jumped over her and thus dodged her before Daiyu could reach her. The kitsune was astonished by this and only noticed much too late the tail end of the wyvern that had hit her on the head and knocked her out. She lay on the ground and Alicia was more than confused. Caterina and Scorpina walked over to the knocked out Daiyu and picked her up off the ground. That the two were being stared at could not be ignored. The strongest had been defeated by Alicia. That she had given herself alpha status could not be ignored. Smoke came from the nostrils of the Wyvern.
"We give up" said Scorpina with a trembling voice when she saw the Angry Devil going under Alicia's left wing. "Yes, we are leaving" said Caterina. She didn't want to give up so easily but the human was stronger than they thought. Just as they appeared, the three disappeared in a puff of smoke. The fruitbat demon that held Silk in its clutches flew away. The two finest demons that appeared next to the devil and Alicia took care of Vespae. The wedding could now continue without anyone being able to say anything against it. Alicia exhaled with relief and changed back into her normal form. The devil stood next to her and led her down the aisle where the priest waited for her and flipped through the book with reading glasses until he found the right page.
"Now that no one objects to the marriage of the two here, you are hereby married and King and Queen of Inkwell Hell" they both looked into each other's eyes as the priest said this and handed the chalice to Alicia. She looked into it and saw a black glittering liquid that looked like oil but didn't smell like it. Now then. She swallowed the contents of the goblet in one go and felt her body change. Her brown hair was now black, her claws now resembled wolf claws and her horns now resembled deer antlers.
She was very tired from the change and almost threatened to fall over if the devil had not held her with his tail and pulled her to him. The priest held a red pillow with two rings on it. One in gold and the other in silver. The devil took both rings and held Alicia's right hand. The silver ring was around her ring finger. She put the gold one around his ring finger while he pulled her closer and waited for the priest's word. "You may now kiss the queen" he said and the devil bent over Alicia and kissed her on the lips. Black roses, clapping and cheers were heard and seen by Alicia before she closed her eyes and let the devil take her in his arms.
She guessed what was coming now and was not surprised when she found herself in his bedchamber with him. Please don't tell me that we... She didn't want to know and hoped he didn't either. "Is something wrong my love Alicia?" he asked her. "We're not going to..." she didn't want to say it. He knew what she meant and already suspected why she was trembling so. "No we won't my love" he said and kissed her on the forehead before he lay down in bed with her and covered them both.
Alicia was relieved and enjoyed cuddling with the devil very much. He really seemed to behave like a cat. He rubbed his head against her cheek and purred louder than ever. Finally he had a queen and was no longer alone. "Rrrr please stay with me and don't leave me my love" he said in a purring voice. Alicia had to laugh when she heard that and still she wanted to go back to the two brothers. But for the moment she enjoyed the devil's attention very much and quickly fell asleep. The devil noticed and was happy. Finally he was no longer alone, Alicia was immortal and his queen and the rivals were off the scene and no longer bothered him or his Queen.
It can not be better than this. His tail knotted with Alicia's and formed a heart with the end of her tail that peeked out of the bedspread. But not only the devil was happy about the wedding. The Imps and Demons were also happy to welcome their new queen. "Cheers to our new queen Alicia!" said a purple Imp holding a beer bottle and toasting with some Imps and Demons.
The news spread furiously and the casino staff also heard about it. In the break room, four employees who were taking a break were talking. "Well, I'm happy for the big boss," said the tallest of the group in a raspy voice. The other three nodded at him, "Yep, I would have married her right away if the devil hadn't seen her first, of course," "You would have charmed her rather than take a No for an answer," said another person in a rattling voice that resembled bone rattling. Everyone had to laugh when he said that. "We should also get ready soon because the big boss will introduce her to us and the Ball is starting soon" said a female Russian voice.
That was true, because as queen she would also have a lot to do in the casino. The ball would also soon take place where both would be crowned. Dice knew that too and sat in his office with an almost empty glass of whiskey and looked out the window behind him to the tower where the devil and Alicia were. "It seems Darling won't be here in time for our appointment" he said as he turned around with the chair and put the now empty glass on the table. Besides soul contracts that are yet to be signed, there were other important documents on the desk that needed to be signed by him. He still had more than enough to do before he could turn to her. He does not want to use the potion yet. First he has to win her trust and then the potion will do the rest. But what would the devil say if he knew about it? "Oh he won't find out" he said and turned to the papers.
The ball had priority for the time being. "Yes, I will enchant Alicia with the love potion at the ball without the boss even beginning to notice anything about it," he grinned like a wide-mouthed frog and was already looking forward to it. The news spread quickly. So fast that even the brothers heard about it. Even though they were still banned from the casino, they were able to get information with the help of the former debtors.
Thanks to Werner, both of them also learned about what Dice was up to and wanted to prevent it at all costs. But how? "Maybe Dr. Karl can help us?" Mugman asked his brother, who thanked Werner and gave him a piece of cheese. He heard this and had an idea. "How about ve bauen some kind of giant robot or zomething like zhat to distract zhe casino staff so ihr zwei can sneak in?" he said in a strong German accent. They both thought about it and agreed with the rat. But they needed help.
Meanwhile, Alicia was slowly waking up and didn't seem to have really slept in yet. She sat upright, yawned and woke up the devil who saw her. However, Alicia didn't notice and was about to get up when suddenly two arms appeared in front of her and dragged her to the devil who was sitting cross-legged. Her head was leaning against his chest and she heard his heart pounding with joy. She looked up at him and was greeted by a smiling devil. "Hey..." she said before turning her head and yawning again. "Not quite rested yet wasn't my love?". Alicia just nodded and let him roll her over so she could lie with her stomach on his and look at him before she fell asleep again.
He grinned, lay back down and covered himself and her with the bedspread while still staying awake and looking at her. He liked her new look very much. The color of her eyes had also changed. They were no longer yellow but yellow with a red rim at the pupil. She looked even more beautiful than before. I'm glad I chose you my beautiful Alicia. Slowly he stroked her cheek with his fingers. A smile appeared on her face. It could not be better for the king of hell. "When the ball comes and you are crowned..." he fell silent as he saw Alicia slowly wake up and look to him. "What ball?" she asked sleepily. He lifted her chin slightly before answering her question. "The ball of the king and queen my love".
She still looked at him sleepily as he kissed her on the mouth. The warmth only made her more tired, which is why she landed with her head on his chest. "Are Cuphead, Mugman and the rest of the debtors invited?" she asked before sleep took over and she closed her eyes. The devil guessed that she would ask that and conjured up a few invitation cards for the two brothers and the former debtor before sending them out with a snap of his fingers. Like the owls from Harry Potter, the invitations flew towards the respective guests. Brineybeard caught his invitation with his sword, Grim snatched it with his mouth, and Cagney used his tendrils and picked up the invitation.
The two brothers also received the invitation. Or rather, it flew in their faces, which made Mugman panic until his brother took the piece of paper from his face. "Thanks Cuppy" he said and laughed nervously while Cuphead just rolled his eyes and took a closer look at the invitation. "An invitation to the ball at the casino for the coronation of Alicia and the Devil" was written on the invitation. "Wow we are really invited despite the house ban?" wondered Mugman. But Cuphead wasn't sure and wanted to get to the bottom of it. "Come on Mugsy we have to get to the casino!" he said with a strutting gait as he started for the bridge to the second island. His brother hurried after him but was still confused.
But this should not disturb the two, they arrived without problems at the casino and knocked on the front door. As they already suspected, the manager opened the door and looked at both brothers annoyed. "Didn't I tell you both to get out of here?" he asked them. But in response, both brothers showed him the invitation to the ball. "We are invited in spite of the house ban Dice" Cuphead said swankily. The manager was not very happy about this. Both brothers could sabotage his plan except him. Before either brother could blink, both invitations were gone from their hands and into the manager's, who immediately locked the door. "Hey, Dice, give us our invitations back!" roared Cuphead as he banged on the door with his hands. "Yes they're ours!" roared Mugman after him.
But the manager was already long gone from the front door and stowed both invitations in his jacket pocket before turning to more important things. Alicia should not know about the love potion just like the devil. So both brothers had to be removed from the two. His casino staff took care that no one would even come close to the ball that day. This would be on the free open place which was behind the casino. It was big enough and gave the managers a good view. The Imps took care of the decoration and that everything was as perfect as possible. The two crowns stood in front of the seats where Alicia and the devil would sit. Both crowns were locked in boxes so that they would not be stolen or destroyed. The action of Alicia with Vespae had surprised the manager very much.
He knew that she was strong. Therefore, he had to enchant her with the love potion unnoticed by her. She should know nothing about it, otherwise he would have trouble talking his way out of it. And he was not really good at that. "Um boss there is someone who wants to talk to you" said a voice behind him. The manager turned around and was greeted by a floating 8 ball with eyes and mouth. "Ah thank you Mangosteen" said the manager as he walked past him and towards his office.
"Where is he ?" wondered Alicia as she waited for King Dice in the manager's office. She had not forgotten, but did not want to go to him. First because the devil wouldn't let her go and second because she still wanted to avoid him. If he doesn't show up right away, I'm out of here. She was about to turn around when she landed with her face in his chest and he had to giggle. "Did you miss me darling?" he asked her. But Alicia only growled. He really liked her new look. The horns, the hair and the eyes. Just everything pleased him. But she was not thrilled.
"Sorry I didn't come right away but you know as a manager I'm needed everywhere" he explained to her while he went to his chair and sat down. A chair was also ready for Alicia but she refused to sit down. Actually she only wanted to know what he wanted to tell her and then leave again. "So to make it short since I see you don't want to stay long" she rolled her eyes annoyed when he said that. "The ball is supposed to start with an opening dance" as if she didn't know. The devil had explained it to her but she didn't know who to dance with. He only told her that they would dance only when they were crowned. But she guessed who her dance partner was.
Please don't tell me I have to dance with the Psycho Dice. His smile answered her question. She grabbed her face and just wanted to get out of the office as fast as possible. But he held her by her tail. Damn! "Where are you going so fast darling?" he asked her while twisting her tail end with his finger. She could not escape him as easily as she thought. "Let's talk in peace about the dance we are going to do" he said and slowly pulled her to him. She growled slightly and tore herself away from him and walked towards the door, opened it and left the office. But that only makes the manager happier.
Meanwhile, Cuphead and Mugman have come up with an idea to stop the manager's plan. "Are you really sure that a giant gingerbread man can help us?" asked the younger brother as he looked at the not-quite-finished gingerbread man, which the Baroness covered with icing and which Dr. Karl connected with wires leading to a machine that is powered by electricity. "I'm pretty sure it's going to work out," the older one said. Bon Bon finished and jumped down from the Gingerbread Man before she and both brothers gave the signal to the doctor to turn on the machine that would bring the Gingerbread Man to life.
"Come on live my invention!" said Dr. Karl as he looked to the gingerbread man who was powered and slowly waking up. Bon Bon rolled his eyes as he said this. "It's not like I did all the work". Both brothers agreed, but suddenly they heard a groan and hid behind the baroness. She was more than confused and was about to say something when she heard the doctor. "Yes, rise up my glorious creature!". The eyes of the gingerbread man opened and he stood up like Frankenstein. He looked around and saw the baroness, the two brothers hiding behind her and the doctor. He opened his mouth and said "Aaaallliiccciiiaa" before standing up and almost crushing the Doctor if Automaton hadn't taken him away in time.
"What's he doing?" wondered Cuphead as he ran after the giant gingerbread that was making its way to the exit of Sugar Land they were in. "He wants to get to her," said Dr. Karl as he ordered Automaton to stop the Gingerbread Man before he could do any more damage.
