Izuku was at Dagabaoh Beach again. He sneaked out of his house at midnight, as there would likely be nobody here at this time of the night. When he reached the beach, there was nothing but sand and the open ocean. He took a few minutes to enjoy the silence and smell of the sea. Then he got to work.
First, he transformed and let One for All's power flow throughout his body. After thinking about it for some time he realized what he had been doing wrong. The durability that One for All provided him worked on his entire body and not just any single part of it. But when he tried to control One for All consciously, he only tried to do it in his arm.
So maybe if he tried to adjust the output over his entire body, then he would have better control. SO he concentrated on the quirk flowing through his body and tried to reign its power. He tried to keep the power at about 20 percent as a start. After he was sure, he thrust his fist forward.
There was still a very strong gust of winds with blew away a lot of sand and water, but it was nowhere near his full power blast. He let go of his transformation and wiped the sweat off his forehead. Though he was able to control the output, it took a lot of focus for it to not go over the edge.
Maybe I should ask All Might for help? He asked himself mentally but quickly dismissed the thought. The man had enough on his plate with his limited time and teaching job, he doesn't need anything else to worry about.
So Izuku came to the beach alone every night to practice with his quirk. He made a lot of progress over the week and tried some basic combat moves he saw on the internet while keeping the output at about 5 percent.
He thought no one would find out but of course when has luck ever been on his side. Apparently, some people living somewhat nearby the beach made a police complaint about a lot of noise at night. So, they sent an officer with a cat quirk named Officer Sansa to investigate. When he saw some kid come to the beach and start practicing his quirk he sighed. This was very common. By law, using one's quirk without a license was illegal, but it was overlooked in most cases unless the person had caused damage or was a villain. It was most common with middle schoolers training their quirks to be heroes.
He got out of his car and approached the kid.
"Hey, kid," Sansa called out and felt bad when the kid flinched and turned around. He saw fear come over the kid's face, most likely from seeing the police uniform. Before he could say anything, the kid started.
"AH! I-I'm sorry please don't arrest me!" he said as he dropped his transformation with a puff of smoke. Sansa sighed.
"Don't worry kid, you aren't in trouble, though you will have to come to the station with me and have someone pick you up," Sansa said calming Izuku down. Izuku complied and followed Sansa towards the police car and they were off.
At the police station, Izuku was asked his name and purpose of going to Dagabaoh Beach. He told him that his name was Midoriya Izuku and that he was a student of the hero course at UA. He also told them that he needed an empty place to train, and the beach seemed perfect.
"Alright. Is there someone you could call to pick you up?" Sansa asked.
Izuku was conflicted. He could call his mom nut then she would know that he had been sneaking out of the house at night and skipping sleep. Not like he needed to sleep, but his mom might not understand that. There was only one other person he could call at that point. It would still lead to him getting scolded, but at least he wouldn't be grounded.
So, Izuku dialed the number on the phone Officer Sansa had offered him. The person on the other side picked up after three rings.
"Hello?" Tosinori's low voice filled his ears and he felt bad about waking the man in the middle of the night. But he quickly explained what had happened, making sure to not reveal that he was talking to All Might.
"Alright, my boy I will come and pick you up, wait there for 15 minutes," All Might said on the phone and then hung up.
After a few minutes, he pulled up to the police station. When asked who he was by Sansa, he freaked out and ended up saying he was Izuku's father. This made Izuku's face go red. But he confirmed this anyway.
In the car, All Might apologized for saying that, but Izuku told him that it was fine. Both of their faces were tinted red the entire time. All Might scolded Izuku for training without telling him, before dropping him off at his house.
"Young Midoriya, tomorrow you have your first heroics class, so be prepared!" All Might told him.
"I will! bye, All Might" he replied. He quickly snuck back into his house. His mom was still sleeping and he was glad for that. Later when he was alone in his room, he thought about All Might pretending to be his father at the police station. For some reason the thought made his chest feel warm.
