Episode 9: End of Spiderman

Previously on Marvel DISK Wars...

Iron Man: How did this happen?! How could they have gotten a hold of them?! Those DISKs are mine!

Scarlet Witch: Great, they just had to come when there was an important announcement.

Loki: D-Secure! *D-Secures Hulk*

Robert: Nick Fury, you are relieved of your duties as director of S.H.I.E.L.D. In addition, all of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s operations are suspended until further notice! As of this moment, S.H.I.E.L.D. is under the direct control of the Global Security Council.

Iron Man: A mass prison break of supervillains thanks to Loki, S.H.I.E.L.D. put out of commission. The DISKs stolen and the kids with biocodes abducted. So far, we've been taking a beating. But that all changes now! Right, Samurai Boy?

Akira: Right! 'Cause the Earth's mightiest heroes are together again and ready to strike back.

Sandra: And it all begins with the famous battle cry!

Sandra, Captain America: Avengers, assemble!

Inside the plane, Sandra, Akira, Hikaru, Chris, Pepper, and Jamie watch the Avengers using the plane's holo-screen.

"Go, Avengers, go!" Akira cheered. "YEAH!"

On the ship's deck, the heroes and villains prepare themselves for the battle.

"They're not as tough as they look! They can only stay out of their DISKS for 5 and a half minutes! We just have to hold them off that long and we win!" Rosetta assured her teammates.

"5 and a half minutes is plenty. The course of history can be altered in far less time than that. You'll soon find out that it can take less than the wink of an eye for justice to triumph over the forces of evil!" Captain America said.

"Will someone put a cork on this guy?!" Tim shouted.

"Gladly! Let him try making speeches with a mouthful of... M.O.D.O.K. Missile!" M.O.D.O.K. fire four missiles on the Avengers but they easily dodge these mechanized weapons.

"Attack! ATTACK!" Tim commanded.

King Cobra, Abomination, and Enchantress charged against the Avengers.

In the ship's control room, Spiderman can hear battle happening.

"Sound like the party started without me..." he mumbled, "Well, I can't be lying around down here."

He then slowly got up.

Jessica and Edward hid behind a corner as they watch the Avengers fight the villains. Hulk is struggling to fight against Abomination.

"Hulk!" Edward exclaimed.

Eventually, Hulk got the upper hand and punched Abomination on the jaw.

"That's amazing." Edward whispered as Jessica butted in, "Now, Wasp! Do your thing!"

"Wasp Sting!" Wasp fired her orange beam at M.O.D.O.K.

"I see you're forgetting my Psionic Force Field!" M.O.D.O.K. summoned a blue force field to block Wasp Sting, "If you've been paying attention the last time we fought, you'd realize that your puny little attacks are totally useless against me! They just bounce right off my impenetrable defenses and fall harmless-!"

M.O.D.O.K. thought he felt something fall on his face. Wasp was actually hitting the ship's smokestack. M.O.D.O.K. dodged it in time, "I think she meant to do that."

"You'll never learn." Wasp replied with a wink.

As for Iron Man, he chased King Cobra in a corridor.

"Try some repulsors!" Iron Man fired a beam from his gauntlet.

King Cobra managed to dodge the beams and charged at Iron Man, who said, "Man, this guy is splippery!"

King Cobra grabbed Iron Man by the shoulders and pinned him to a wall.

"I've got him!" Captain America said. He attempted to bash his shield at Cobra but the the latter dodged it.

"Your shield can't stop this!" King Cobra then conjured up a smoke screen from his wrist that temporarily rendered both Iron Man and Captain America unable to see.

"Cap! You okay?" Iron Man called out, to no avail. King Cobra wrapped himself around Iron Man, preventing the latter from escaping.

"Don't you see? Let's see you try to escape from the one and only Cobra Twist!" King Cobra squeezed Iron Man more, causing the latter's armor to spark.

"Sorry, snake eyes. But I don't dance the Twist." Iron Man activated his jet boots that took him and King Cobra to the sky.

"What?!" King Cobra exclaimed, surprised.

"I don't know if you're a human or a reptile..." Iron Man said as he and King Cobra flew down into the sea, "But one thing I'm pretty sure of, you're not a fish! So how long can you hold your breath?!"

King Cobra could only let out incoherent, gurgling sounds. Eventually, he lost his grip Iron Man due to lack of breath. Iron Man grabbed King Cobra by the tail and they rocketed out of the sea. Captain America appeared to notice them.

"Delivery! One order of sea snake, extra soggy!" Iron Man threw King Cobra over to Captain America.

"Alright, Shield Tackle!" Captain America readied his shield and used it to knock Cobra unconscious.

"They say he tastes like chicken." Iron Man said as he landed beside Captain America.

Suddenly, Iron Man is beginning to return back to his DISK, "Uh-oh. Looks like my time is up."

"Leave it to me." Captain America replied.

"You got it."

Just then, Hulk crashed right next to Captain America as Scarlet Witch slid in front of him. Enchantress and Abomination approached them.

"You two alright?" Captain America asked.

"Do we look like we're alright?" Scarlet Witch asked back as she and Hulk got up.

"That was quite a fall you both took."

"You think I'm weak or something." Hulk remembered the time he was under Diablo's alchemy and fought Captain America and Scarlet Witch, "Listen, that time we fought, I went easy on you. I was holding back. You wouldn't have survived if I hadn't held back."

"Care to prove that on him?" Captain America asked.

"Oh, I'll prove it, alright." Hulk replied.

"Then there's no time to waste. Let's do it together!" Scarlet Witch said as they readied themselves to fight Abomination and Enchantress.

Meanwhile, Thor appeared in front of the Celebrity Six, who could only back away from him.

"Now tell me the reason behind this madness." Thor pointed Mjölnir to the Celebrity Six, "Speak! What is your master Loki planning to with the DISKs?"

Jubei runs past Thor and readied his weapon. Jubei prepared to attack but Thor used his hammer to cut the blade and nullify the Jubei's attack.

"I will ask one more time, mortal. What is it my brother is planning?" Thor asked as Jubei retreated back to his teammates, "Very well. If you won't speak-"

"Thor!" 'Hikaru' ran over to Thor.

"Hikaru?" Thor wondered.

"We've got bigger problems than that! It's Loki."

"Loki?! Where is he?!" Thor felt like he was hit by something. That's when he noticed that he was surrounded by lightning emitted by the scepter 'Hikaru' is holding.

"Closer than you think."

"What does... this means?!" Thor realized that the Hikaru that trapped him is actually Loki.

"Loki!" Thor mumbled.

"You haven't changed since we were children. It's so easy to trick you. Almost too easy." Loki said, "Scepter Blast."

Loki fired an energy blast that sent Thor into a wall.

"About time you showed up." Jubei said.

"Where have you been?!" Rosetta asked.

"We've been waiting for you for hours." Angela added.

"Please. I need not explain myself to you." Loki said.

"Oh, yeah? That's what you think-" Joel mumbled before he was cut off by Manino.

"Save it for later. Isn't it about time you got us out of here, Loki?" Manino reminded Loki.

Loki nodded and called out to Abomination.

"Loki?" Hulk was shocked at the evil god's presence.

"He's here?!" Scarlet Witch is equally shocked.

"Sink this ship!" Loki commanded.

"What?!" Captain America asked, also shocked.

Abomination smirked evilly and pounded his fist. Eventually, he slammed his fists on the deck, causing the ship to crack and sink.

"So long, suckers." Abomination said before he returned to his DISK.

Thor got up but was still weakened from Loki's Scepter Blast.

"Loki!" Thor yelled.

"Fare thee well, brother." Loki readied his scepter for teleportation.

"But we haven't D-Secured M.O.D.O.K. and the others!" Rosetta said.

"We're out of time." Loki said.

"No! Stop them! Mjölnir Throw!" Thor threw his hammer at Loki and the Celebrity Six, only for it to pass through as the seven villains disappeared.

As the ship is sinking, the plane landed to where the heroes are.

"Cap, D-Secure those supervillains, quick!" Iron Man said.

"Got it." Captain America replied. He then threw four DISKs over to Jessica and Edward, "Heads up!"

Jessica caught two of the DISKs while Edward caught the other two.

"Point them at the villains and shout 'D-Secure'." Captain America commanded.

The two kids looked at each other and nodded before they aimed the DISKs at the villains and shouted, "D-Secure!"

Jessica captured King Cobra and Whirlwind while Edward captured Enchantress and Diablo.

"So cool!" Jessica said.

"Thor. Make sure that Ed and Jessica get safely aboard the jet." Captain America said to Thor.

"Very well." Thor replied.

Captain America turned to Wasp and said, "Wasp, have you seen Spiderman?"

"He must still be down in the hole." Wasp responded.

Suddenly, they heard the ship's engine explode as the bow of the ship was in flames. The storage room is now filling itself with sea water.

"Uh-oh. Could this be the end of The Spidey Show?'" Spiderman asked himself. "Tune in next time. If there really is a next time."

Meanwhile, Hulk, Scarlet Witch, Wasp, and Captain America are heading towards the storage room.

"This way! Not much longer!" Wasp said before she, and the others felt another tremor.

Scarlet Witch stumbled but Captain America caught her in his arms. A loving moment occurred between these two heroes but it is short lived when Captain America said, "We have to keep going."

Hulk growled and that's when he, Captain America, Wasp, Scarlet Witch, and Spiderman noticed a light just as the ship exploded.

In Times Square, New York, all the people there are gathered to watch a special new bulletin from Rosetta.

"Good morning. This is Rosetta Riley for BNC News, with the unfortunate task of having to report a tragic and shocking development. Shocking to people all over the world but especially to the people of New York. Sad to say that Spiderman is no more. As we reported earlier, the epic battle between the Avengers and the supervillains aboard a hijacked tanker resulted in the tanker sinking. It was believed that all the superheroes have gotten safely off the ship. But this video acquired from an anonymous source, clearly shows that Spiderman was being held a prisoner in the ship's hold when it went down. And so, hard as it is for New Yorkers to believe. It appears that the web-slinging days of our friendly neighborhood Spiderman have, at last, come to an end. It was just days ago that Spiderman was performing a sort of heroics for which he was famous and so below, risking his life to defend the city of Boston from ravages of the great creature known as Abomination. Unfortunately, that proved to be his last battle. During the fight, he was overcome and taken prisoner, ultimately, to meet his tragic fate. In a related development, a spokesman for the Global Security Council announced today that the government plans to rein in the activities of superheroes. Senator Robert Winters was quoted a saying that 'freelance vigilante groups such as the Avengers will no longer be tolerated.' According to Winters, all superheroes will soon be regulated by the government." Rosetta reported.

All the New Yorkers were alarmed to hear this.

"Spiderman is gone?"

"No way... it's not true!"

"We'll keep you informed of any further developments. This is Rosetta Riley, reporting." Rosetta finished her news update.

"That's gotta be true, or else she wouldn't be reporting."

"There's no way around it. This is the end of Spiderman."

What they all didn't notice is that their favorite hero is swinging their way.

"What? Hey, look up there!" a man pointed.

All the New Yorkers cheered that Spiderman is still alive.

"Hello, New York!" Spiderman greeted.

"Welcome back, Spiderman!" all the New Yorkers greeted back.

"Thanks! It's good to see you, too! Thank you!" Spiderman said as he sighed in relief, "They don't know how but I almost didn't make it."

He remembered a few hours ago when he was rescued by Scarlet Witch, Captain America, Wasp, and Hulk.

Flashback - a few hours ago

Hulk punched a section of the wall to the storage room. He entered the room and carried Spiderman in his arms.

"You okay?" Hulk said.

"Nice move. Sometimes the quickest way to find a door is to make one yourself." Spiderman said.

The heroes then felt another tremor and saw another explosion.

"Guys, there's just one thing I wanna say." Spiderman said.

"You can save it for later." Captain America replied. "Right now, we gotta get out of here."

"I never get the chance to say it. Oh, well. Better late than never. Spiderman trailed off as he saw the jet fly off into the distance. "Thanks."

Meanwhile, in the jet...

"A tactical victory." Captain America said. "The enemy may have gotten away, but..."

"At least the mission was complete." Scarlet Witch continued for him. "Spiderman, Jessica, and Edward are rescued and there are no casualties on our side. Good job, everybody."

"Whoa, you two. When did you two get promoted to general-issimo? Look, I'm fine with you giving a rally cry. 'Assemble.' You got just the right ton of corny sincerity but that doesn't make any of you leader in those outfits. That job's already taken." Iron Man said.

"Who even asked you anyway?" Sandra joked.

Iron Man then noticed Akira staring at him.

"Something on your mind, Akira?" he asked.

"Just glad you're okay." Akira replied. "And hey, you finally called me by my first name!"

"Don't get used to it, Samurai Boy." Iron Man piped up matter-of-factly.

"Come on! It's not that hard, is it?!" Akira retorted, annoyed.

Just then, Akira's stomach rumbled.

"What a lame-o." Chris remarked, which Akira noticed.

"I'm not really that lame, am I?" Akira asked Hikaru.

"No comment." Hikaru answered as he giggled.

Sandra and Ms. Pepper giggled at that, too.

"Well, let's get on home. A victory like this deserves a party!" Ms. Pepper said.

"Great idea, Pepper!" Jamie replied.

"I just can't believe I'm in the same jet with my favorite popstar." Jessica said as she gazed at Sandra.

"Hey, Jessica. I didn't know you're a fan of that girl." Edward said.

"Are you kidding, Ed? This is Sandra I'm talking about. I've had lots of posters and other items of her back at my place. Meeting her in person is way better." Jessica replied before she took out a poster from her jacket and turned to Sandra. "Hey, Sandra."

"Yeah?" Sandra turned her head at Jessica.

"Would you sign my poster of you?" Jessica showed her poster.

"Why not?" Sandra then pulled a pen and signed on the poster. It read:

Stay cool and be awesome. 👍 ✨ 👩 🎤

- Sandra.

Jessica sighed in content.

Meanwhile, in a limousine heading for Stark Tower, Robert appears to be watching the news on TV.

"It is now official. The president responding to proposals from the Global Security Council has just announced that as of today, all superheroes will be regulated by the government. He hoped this action would address growing public concern over the large number of supervillains who escaped from the prison facility on Ryker's Island. Officially called the 'Superhero Registration Act', the resolution requires all superheroes to register with the government and have their activities monitored. While some experts say the act goes too far, the president made clear tat compliance is mandatory. Any superheroes who fail to register will be detained."

Robert and an army of soldiers infiltrated the tower, unbeknownst to the heroes inside. Eventually, the soldiers and Robert have found the correct room.

'The president's smart enough to know that even he can't ignore a directive from the Security Council.' Robert thought, 'And so... Checkmate, Avengers!'

"Break it down!" Robert commanded the soldiers as they followed what he said and inspected the room. But the room is completely empty, much to Robert's surprise.

"It's clear"

"What?!" Robert exclaimed aloud. "Impossible!"

Meanwhile, in Tokyo, Japan

"An international jetsetter like me has got hang-outs all over the world." Iron Man said. "Including Japan, naturally."

"I just wish we could've see the looks on their dumb faces." Hulk replied.

"Me, too, big guy." Scarlet Witch agreed with Hulk. "But then again, they'll still know about our location."

"Japanese food's the greatest!" Akira cheered.

"Oh, got any California rolls?" Jessica asked.

"I don't think they serve those here, Jess." Sandra replied.

"So the government wants to control all superheroes now. I hate to think what might have happened if you hadn't stepped in and given us a heads-up. Thanks, Hawkeye." Captain America said to Hawkeye.

"Yeah, well, we gonna get S.H.I.E.L.D. up and running again. So we need all you guys to stay on the fight, not sit on the sidelines." Hawkeye said. "Any other information comes my way, I'll be sure to let you know, Cap. See you around."

Hawkeye then left the building, but was stopped by Iron Man, saying, "Hey, stick with us."

"I'm more useful in staying where I am." Hawkeye said as he continued his way.

"Good hunting." Captain America said as Hawkeye waved back.

Later, in a dojo, Akira, Sandra, Scarlet Witch, and Iron Man are in a room, gazing at a katana blade tucked in its sheath.

"Whose place is this?" Akira asked.

"Well, an old acquaintance's." Iron Man replied.

"You said that before, but it kinda feels..." Sandra retorted but was interrupted when the slide door was opened. The two kids stared at the silver-armored man known as Silver Samurai.

"It's been too long, Tony Stark." Silver Samurai said.

"Allow me to present... Silver Samurai." Iron Man introduced.

"Uh, how're you doing?/Um... Greetings." Akira and Sandra introduced themselves. Silver Samurai glanced at them.

"You know, I'm not... really getting much of a hero vibe from this guy." Akira mused.

"It's no surprise, since he is a villain." Scarlet Witch answered, much to the surprise of the two kids. "He is one of the most notorious crime lords in the entire country."

Sandra narrowed her eyes as she continued to stare at the silver-armored villain.
