Ch17
Summer is almost here. Percy sighed as he put his things in the locker, his mom didn't want him to return to camp for some reason but it was where he needed to go. I've trained a while for this I am stronger than last summer
He was grateful for his brothers even if he was still getting used to them. Both Chrysaor and Triton worked their best to train him in being a great son of Poseidon and though it was hard work he still did his best and met up with them to train when he could. I'll show dad what I learned this summer. I'll put all I learned to good use and make him proud.
Chris mentioned things are getting hectic at camp I wonder what is going on over there? He walked around and found Tyson cowering in the corner against Matt Sloan.
"Hey leave him alone!" He said as he got up in between them.
Matt Sloan had some goons with him, the glare in their eyes sent shivers down his spine. "Why don't you step aside Jackson this retard deserves it," Matt Sloan sneered.
He resisted the urge to punch him, he could do it and sent him to the ground bleeding but he couldn't get expelled yet. The bell rang signaling for them to get ready for gym.
"See you in the gym losers," Matt said as he and his goons left glaring at him one last time.
"Percy they bad," Tyson muttered rubbing his eyes.
"It's alright I'll keep you safe," he said patting Tyson on the back. "Come on lets get ready."
Tyson nodded, "Thank you Percy."
He nodded and quickly went to get ready for gym. He took out his gym clothes and realized that there was no pocket for Riptide. Always keep your weapon on or near you. It was something Triton and Chris both told him. Well my gym pants don't have it so I guess I'll have to improvise.
Luckily Riptide's cap fit well on the side of his pants. It would look weird having a pen at his side but he knew it would be best to keep it near him. When he arrived at gym class he was paired with Tyson and a few others in dodgeball against Matt Sloan and those weird friends of his.
"Alright begin!" The coach said.
It was then that the guys behind Matt Sloan hissed and began to change. Their forms became larger and their arms thicker. "Perseus Jackson you will die here," they hissed as they turned into giants.
Oh shit. "Tyson get out of the way!" He yelled as the giants through a fiery ball at him. To his surprise Tyson caught it and flung it back at them.
Tyson? He quickly drew Riptide and looked up at his friend, he realized that Tyson only had one eye. He shook his head as he dodged another attack. Focus. I'll figure it out later.
Gripping Riptide he charged at the creatures. People screamed, he didn't know what they saw but now wasn't the time to worry. Tyson threw one of the flaming balls back at them, it knocked one of the giants off balance and he took the opportunity to drive Riptide right through its eye.
The monster howled as it turned to dust. "Percy I help you," Tyson said as he tackled another one to the ground.
"Thanks," he said as dodged another fire ball and stabbed the monster through the heart. "We have to get out of here."
Running to the water fountain he quickly sliced it in half sending water everywhere. Come on lets do this. Taking a deep breath he felt the water in the pipes of the fire system.
The walls and floor creaked as the giants threw flaming balls at him. Clenching his fists he forced the water in the pipes to come to his aid. Everyone screamed as the sprinklers and pipes exploded with water dousing the fire
A few remaining giants glared at them and through more balls of fire at them, except they were quickly extinguished. Tyson grabbed them and through one at the door breaking it down and the other at the monster knocking it off balance.
"Tyson lets go!" He said as he willed the water to withstrain the monsters. Using Riptide he quickly decapitated them both.
The door burst open and he saw a familiar figure walk in. "Triton!" He called out. His older brother was wearing jeans and a dark blue shirt and held his trident in his hand.
"Both of you come with me," Triton yelled as he incinerated the remaining giant with a blast from his trident.
He was confused about why he wanted Tyson but he had a lot of questions as they ran after Triton. "Thanks for coming," he said once they were out of school.
"No problem. I see you found your other brother," Triton said looking at Tyson. "What are you called?"
"My name is Tyson thank you for saving us," Tyson said with a smile.
"Wait brother what do you mean?" He asked.
"All cyclops are children of our father," Triton said. "Take him to camp with you, I'm sure that's what our father would want."
"Wait take him to camp? But what would the other campers think?" He didn't have a problem with cyclops but bringing in a cyclops might cause issues with some people.
Triton raised an eyebrow. "Father already made an example of the Athena Cabin about disrespecting his children." He then moved closer to him and put an arm on his shoulder looking him in the eyes. He could see the resemblance to their father though Triton was stricter and his eyes showed it.
"Percy father trusts you with him. Take care of Tyson ok?" Triton asked looking him in the eyes. "He is your family just like me or Chrysaor. Don't let him down."
He trusts me with him? He nodded, "Alright I will." Tyson was still his friend and he would protect him even if the camp hated him. This is my chance to show him what I learned.
"Ok come on lets get you to camp I'll deal with your school later," Triton said as he clapped his hands and hailed a cab.
A cab came by and the three of them entered it. Three old ladies sat in the front "To Camp Half Blood," Triton ordered passing them some drachmas
He saw something on the dashboard that read Gray Sisters. "Sounds good," One of the ladies said as the car sped off.
"No wrong way you're going to crash," The other sister said as she jerked the steering wheel to the right
"These are the Grey Sisters Anger, Tempest, and Wasp," Triton muttered. "Don't worry they'll get us to where we need to."
"Good to know," he said as the three sisters bickered about directions and traffic laws as the car jerked from around to around.
They hit a bump and the sisters screamed. "Where is the eye damn it!"
He saw a small orb roll on the ground, he thought it was a plastic eye but on closer inspection, it was a real eye. Gross. He picked it up and eyed it carefully.
"Where is it?" Tempest yelled.
"I have it here," he said.
"Give it to me so I can drive," Tempest yelled.
"No to me," Anger yelled.
The car jerked around and Tyson looked like he was getting sick. "I don't know tell me something useful," he said.
"Percy don't do this you and Tyson aren't immortal," Triton snapped.
"30,31,75,12," They all yelled at once. "Now give us the eye!"
He was going to ask what those numbers meant but Triton took the eye from his hand and gave it to them. "They are coordinates," his brother muttered as the sisters maneuvered the car.
He was going to protest but the car quickly approached Camp Half Blood. Triton nearly pulled him out of the car as Tyson stumbled out. "Alright we are here," his brother said frowning at the distance. "Looks like we have some trouble."
Squinting his eyes he saw a series of bulls charging at a group of campers. He saw both Clarisse and Chris doing battle with them. "Chris mentioned that the barrier is getting weaker, I didn't think there would be constant monster attacks."
"You'll have a busy summer," Triton said as he summoned his trident. "Come on I'm feeling generous today."
I won't argue with that. He drew Riptide and the three of them went to the aide of the campers. Triton shot a few blasts from his trident and took out a few of the bulls by surprise.
"Nice to see you guys," Chris yelled as he stabbed a bull in the eyes with his golden sword. "Is the cyclops with you?"
"Oh Tyson? Yeah he is," he said as they worked together with the campers to fight off the bulls. I still can't believe he is a cyclops but no time to dwell on it.
The campers quickly got reorganized as they pushed the bulls back. Triton effortlessly killed the monsters with his trident until they were all gone. "Alright Percy see you around. Remember father entrusts you with Tyson," Triton said.
"I will," he said as his brother disappeared in the blink of an eye.
"Who was that?" Clarisse asked.
"Oh our father's immortal son Triton," Chris said casually. The campers stared wide eyed and said nothing as they approached the border of the camp. "I allow Tyson to enter," Chris said.
He and Tyson quickly entered the camp, it was weird seeing Tyson with his one eye but he could get used to it. "Have these attacks been happening more frequently?"
"More and more often by the day," Chris sighed as he capped his pen. "Come on you should talk with Chiron, he is in trouble."
"What happened?" He asked as they entered the camp with Tyson and the other campers.
"He is being scapegoated for what happened to the tree," Chris said. He frowned as he explained the gist of the situation. The tree containing the spirit of Thalia Grace daughter was poisoned and Chiron was blamed for what happened.
"But that's not fair!" He said gripping his fists tightly. "I'll go speak with him."
"It won't do much good trust me," Chris said with a frown.
They found Chiron in the Big House packing his things with a grim look on his face. "Chiron! You can't be leaving," He nearly shouted. "The camp needs you."
"Hello Percy," Chiron said giving them a tight smile. "I know Percy. But right now Zeus is not happy, it isn't fair but I have to leave."
Percy stared at Chiron in disbelief. "But who will lead the camp?"
"A man named Tantalus has been chosen," Chiron said.
"He is a real piece of work," Chris muttered under his breath.
Chiron looked at both of them, "Be careful both of you. Right now we all need to work together through these tough times."
"Don't worry we'll do our best and I'll keep Percy safe at all costs. After all we are siblings," Chris said.
He nodded, "We'll fix this somehow I know it."
"Well good luck and be safe.," Chiron said with a smile. "I'll get going now both of you should head to dinner."
"So how was your day?" Chris asked as they made it to the dinner table. Various campers stared at them, well Tyson in particular.
"Some monsters attacked me and Tyson while we were at school," Percy said rubbing his head. "Triton came and bailed me out and told me that Tyson is my brother."
"Well good to know," Chris said as Tantalus approached them.
"Why is a Cyclops here?" Tantalus asked. The dining hall turned silent as all eyes turned to their table. "He should be with the Hermes Cabin."
He glared at Tantalus just as blue trident appeared above Tyson. The room went silent then there were snickers and laughs from the various campers. His face turned red, he was brothers with a monster.
No he is my friend, besides he is my family too. He glared at Tantalus, he wasn't going to just let his guy push Tyson around. If Triton and Chrysaor could treat me well for not being immortal then I can do the same thing for Tyson.
Tantalus chuckled, "Well so be it. I guess this monster can stay at the Poseidon table with the other monsters."
"They have a monster," some campers chuckled and laughed. Monster. They kept repeating that word and sadly Tyson didn't know what they were talking about.
His face turned red as he stood up, he was about to tell this guy off when Chris got up. Uh oh. All of the embarrassment and anger inside of him quickly got replaced with fear as his brother's body turned rigid. The thing was his older brother didn't take the insult monster kindly.
His brother uncapped his golden sword and pierced the table of the Hermes Cabin causing the room to go silent. The Stoll siblings nearly jumped out of their seats and some campers fell off, the entire mess area stared at Chris wide eyed as his brother stabbed the table again.
"I don't find anything funny," Chris said his voice icy.
Uh oh. He knew his brother had a touchy subject when people mentioned he was part monster and Tantalus just inadvertently called him one.
"Our lord father Poseidon claimed him and you think something is funny with that?" Chris asked looking around the room everyone was silent. The thing was people knew not to mess with his older brother.
"Oh sit down," Tantalus snorted.
"Monster you said?" Chris eyed Tantalus up and down. To his credit Tantalus didn't move and Mr. D didn't react, he appeared amused in some ways. "In case you all didn't notice and I'm sure the Ares Cabin can testify our Father's immortal son Triton dropped Percy and Tyson off. If you think there is something wrong with Tyson being here, you'll to take up with him."
The room was quiet as Chris pulled his golden sword from the table and pointed to the Athena Cabin. "They are the example for offending Poseidon. So unless you want to avoid water and horse shit for the rest of your lives I suggest you all reconsider how you refer to Tyson, who knows maybe our father or Triton will ask how his first day is? Maybe I'll let some names slip of those who laughed? Let me warn you Triton does not take mockery of our father well."
There wasn't a single face in the room that wasn't terrified at the implication, the Athena Cabin looked even more scared while the Hermes and Aphrodite Cabins avoided looking at his brother their faces also white.
"Well I believe you made your point," Mr. D said as he got up. "It is very foolish to mock a god, you all should know better since the Athena Cabin offended Poseidon. Old Barnacle Head sent his main heir to deliver Tyson to the camp and claimed him so he is officially a camper now."
Not a single person spoke for the rest of the dinner, no one so much as looked at their table which he was fine with.
Chris returned to his seat his face was still tense just like the atmosphere. "Thanks for standing up for him," he said softly. Frankly he was glad that Chrysaor did what he did.
His brother gave him a small smile, "No worries. He is our sibling too; he doesn't deserve to be treated poorly. If anyone gives him trouble they'll answer to both of us."
"Thanks," he said with a smile. He didn't know why his dad had him look after Tyson but if he was entrusted to look after him then he would.
