The worst had happened and they'd survived anyway.
Perhaps not the worst, but it was pretty bad, yet they had survived.
Cynthia had been sucked through a capillary and into a lung. Braddock had rescued her, but gone low on power. Cynthia had the bright idea to use the neutrons in the brain to regain power and used the heart to get to the brain.
Despite being young, Cynthia was not stupid. She knew human anatomy well and figured it was worth a shot.
And it had worked!
The Mission Commander was praising them, Braddock and Cynthia, for their ingenuity. That, as Cynthia had pointed out, nobody before had ever gone through the heart, the lungs and the brain.
Now they knew it was possible, it would be a total game changer in understanding the human body and its inner workings.
There was even talks of promotions - for both of them!
Braddock declined. He'd much rather pilot craft through the human body.
Cynthia would… she would think about it.
But it would take time for both of them to come to terms with the full consequences of what they'd done and realise the knowledge they could give back to humankind.
Dr Cynthia Lair is very smart. She does suggest charging the ship up on the brain's electrical energy, and using the heart to propel the way. Clearly, she thinks well under pressure.
