Chapter 3. McGonagall.

We have been standing for 15 minutes, not long but long enough for me to become bored and fiddle with my fingers. Hiro, Ezra and Mary were all standing together near the front of the train. Hagrid begins to say loudly 'Hello kids, welcome to hogwarts station. Get into a line everyone, your luggage will be taken care of. Follow me', We all begin to walk to the edge of the lake, Hogwarts sits ontop of a massive hill, we get there by boats. Me, Hiro and Hagrid sit in the front boat, Hagrid sits at the bow of the ship with the lamp.

We get to the dock at the bottom of the hill. Begin to walk up the steps to the courtyard, waiting at the top for everyone to get there. We walk through the 'Front' doors of Hogwarts and begin to walk up the stairs, at the top we meet McGonagall. She begins to say 'Hello students, welcome to hogwarts. Now a few things before we go in, you will be sorted into your houses; they are; Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin; Once your houses are chosen you will sit down at the correct table. Ready? Okay, through we go' The doors to the Great hall open, all the older students are there watching us as we walk down towards the sorting hat and the teachers seats. McGonagall walks up the steps beside Professer Dumbledores Podium and says 'Before we begin children Professer Dumbledore has a few words to say to us'. Dumbledore rises ' Hello students and welcome to a new year at Hogwarts, Few announcements to make, Number 1. The dark forest is off bounds to all students.

Number 2. 3rd floor corridor is out of bounds to anyone who doesn't want to die a most painful and horrible death.

Now McGonagall we can get on with the sorting.'

McGonagall 'Thank you Professer; Hermione Granger- Gryffindor. Draco Malfoy- Slytherin. Susan Bones- Hufflepuff. Hiro Katshi- Gryffindor. Ezra Taylor- Ravenclaw. Y/N Y/L/N- Slytherin. Mary Lourdes- Hufflepuff. '

The ceremony commenced until everyone had a house and was sitting on there house table. You have been split up from Mary, Ezra and Hiro. Your sitting near the top of the table about 3 seats away. Across from you is a short boy with blonde hair he reaches his hand over the table and says 'Hello, im Draco Malfoy' as you shake back you say 'Hello im Y/N Y/L/N' He puts his hand back down and gives you a smile. You look over to the Gryffindor table and spot Hiro, you wave at him and he gives you one back, Two other boys look at you while Hiro waves and give you a side smirk. They look like twins, one of them turn around write on a small bit of paper then throw it over too you. You read it, 'Were Fred and George Weasley, its nice too meet you' at the bottom of the note theres a small bit for you to put your name down. 'Y/N Y/L/N' you throw it back and they read it and smile. Give you another smirk and you giggle to yourself, smiling at them.

Draco looks at you, looks at your smile and simply smiles because of it.*

Y/N- 'What are you smiling at Draco?'

Draco- 'Oh!.. nothing. Doesn't matter.'

Y/N- 'Yeah whatever'

As everyone finished eating Professer Dumbledore arised from his seat and said 'Students if everyone stands and follows your Head of House to the common rooms. Have a good evening everyone see you bright and early tomorrow moring.' We all begin to follow our respected Heads of house, ours takes us down into the dungens, thats were the Slytherin common room is located. Everyone walks into the dungens corridor, past the irreverent doors, past 'Potions class' and near the bottom of the corridor is Slytherin common rooms. Our Head of house opens the door, we gather into the centre of the common room as the Head of house speaks 'Welcome everyone to your common room. Now boys dorms are located up the right set of stairs and to the left. Girls dorm rooms are located up the left set of stairs and to the right. No girls in the boys dorms and vice versa for the boys. Now hurry along your luggage is located at the top of the stairs beside the door of your respected dorm rooms. No student is to be out of there beds after 10pm, if someone is found to be out of there bed there will be detention. Goodnight' The girls walk up the left stairs, the boys walk up the right stairs and you walk up which ever stairs you associate with. Your luggage was at the top, the door to the dorms was already open and since you were the last person after you head in you close the door.

It slams shut loud, making you Jump! You walk into the middle of the room, scan the dorm for a free bed. You spot one right in the corner by the window sil, that looks like a great bed and you get a seat on the window for nothing. You place your luggage ontop and begin to unpack your things. Laying the blanket and extra pillows on your new seat. Making you a little niché reading corner. Theres a small dressing table beside your bed, and a pull-out drawer under the bed. Dividing your belongings between important (goes in the dresser) and unimportant (goes in the pull-out drawer). You have successfully unpacked your bag, Oli has been sitting on a small chest at the bottom of your bed, moving him to the window so he can watch the birds, gives you access to the chest. Once opened theres a Black cloak folded to one side, a small Scroll of paper tied with a red ribbon, a rectangular black box. Picking up the box you take the lid off revelling a wand, and a note. Reading the note; 'Dear Y/L/N, To my surprise and to yours here is your wand. You have already been too see me sometime ago, when you were little. Hopefully this wand remremembers you. If you have any difficulties come see me in Diagon Alley.

Picking up the wand, giving it a swish, it starts glowing and gives a small spark out the end.

Everyone in the dorm looks at you, putting your wand into your pocket. The Head of house comes up and informs you not to play about with your wand, and that everyone must start getting ready for bed since it is 9.30pm. Not even realizing how much time has gone past you nod to agree with the Head. They look at you and simply walk back out the door off down the stairs.

You walk into the bathroom, go into one of the cubicles and get changed into your PJs. They are so comfortable, fluffy on the outside and inside they have frogs on them. They are your favourite pair, along with some of the other casual clothes you brung with you to lounge around in.

You step out the cubicle and walk over to the sinks, washing your hands with scented soap, it smells like green apples. You lay out your wash bag, grab your toothbrush and toothpaste and brush those teeth. Once you have finished you walk out the bathroom and over to the window, feeding Oli some 'good frog boi' treats, going into your bedside drawer you pull out your favourite teddy bear, Sir Chubb Chubbs (He's a really fat, obsesse frog), get under your covers and snuggle up to Sir Chubb Chubbs. Falling asleep quite fast to the sound of the other students snoring, maybe an hour later you could hear Oli making it harder to continue sleeping with his overconfident ribbits. You rub your eyes to adjust them to it being dark, climb over to the window, take Oli out his cage, walk back over to the bed, nearly falling over your shoes in the process. You get back into bed, and lay Oli down on your chest, He's an odd frog, when hes happy he sort of makes a purring sound. Even though hes not a cat, you find it cute, he loves sleeping on your chest.

Both you and your Odd friend fall asleep fairly quickly.
