3 Years Later
"Capture them!" A male cop shouts as he glares at a pair of kids jumping down into the sewer. He tries to follow them but he trips and tumbles onto the ground.
"Good work Tenma."
"Wouldn't have worked without you Meia."
The duo, both of them wearing black skintight clothes that covers their whole body while leaving the eyes visible, though it is covered by night vision goggles, and nose half visible, keeps running in a zigzag route, until they come upon an opening and slow down as SARU is leaning against the wall.
He notices them, looking up and down then raises an eyebrow, "Did you bring back the data?"
Tenma takes out a small usb then hands it to him, "Here. Mission accomplished."
"Good job both of you. We are a step closer to bringing down our oppressors." SARU clenches his hand, "I just wish that day is soon."
Meia looks at him with concern, "SARU, you should relax. It won't do any of us good if you work yourself to death before that day." Tenma nods in agreement.
SARU wryly smiles, "Thank you but not yet. Anyway, we rescued a new batch of children this morning. Why not go play with them?"
Meia and Tenma squint their eyes at him but nods with a sigh, "Alright. But try to not overwork yourself, please?"
"No promise. Now go on." He steps aside to let them pass before holding out the usb for him to look, "With this… We can control E Dorado defense system."
Over with the duo, they look around the small city that they helped developed with the other kids, "I still can't believe that we made it this far…" Meia quietly mutters, though Tenma hears it.
He nods, "Yeah. I still can't get used to seeing everything here… Along with the futuristic stuff."
She giggles, "It's not hard at all, maybe it's because of the genes but everybody here, including you, are smart."
"Yeah? Tell that to my scores."
She places her hand on his head to rub it, "There there, I know you are smart enough. Come on, let's go changed then play soccer with the childrens."
Unknown to both of them since they are too engrossed in their banter, a male with neck-length curly bright beige hair and glasses is watching them from an alleyway.
"Damn it… I missed my chance to greet my sweet Meia back! I swear that I will make you mine!" With that declaration, he walks deeper into the alleyway while glaring at the duo.
"Tenma!"
"Got it!"
Meia and Tenma, now wearing casual outfits, are playing soccer with the childrens on a wide open field with 2 sets of goal post on the opposite end.
"Soyokaze Step!" Tenma shouts as he uses his Hissatu to get past a male child in front of him, prompting the child to cover his face as wind blows onto him.
Tenma stops before going to check on the child, "Ah! My bad, I should have warned you that I was –"
The male child smiles with wide eyes, "That was awesome! Please teach me how to do that!" He excitedly says, prompting Tenma to smile, though he freezes as he sees somebody approaching him with a smile.
"Tenma~ why did you use a Hissatu on a child?" Meia sweetly says with her hands at the back of her body as she leans to him.
"Ummmm… I have no excuse. I am sorry." Tenma bows with his knees on the dirt, prompting her to drop her smile and sighs.
"Why are you apologizing to me? Apologize to the child."
The male child shakes his head, "It's alright, big sister Meia. Look, I didn't get hurt at all!"
She walks around the child while ignoring Tenma, "Hmmm… Alright, no harm done, but next time, please don't cover for my careless brother, ok?" She sweetly says, making the child to rapidly nod, which satisfy her enough to nod.
"Now, go along and play with the rest since me and Tenma need to go somewhere."
The childrens looking at them let out aww and sigh while their expression morph into sadness, prompting Meia to awkwardly smile, "Now now, don't make those faces. Look, how about we play again tomorrow?"
The childrens let out cries of hurray and celebrate while Meia freezes as she realizes what she said but doesn't have the heart to say anything as she sees them resuming the game.
"…You really are weak with children, eh? Big sister Meia."
"Shut it. Now get up or do you want me to levitate you to the place?"
Tenma quickly gets up while brushing off his knees, "No thank you. The guys are still laughing about the last time you levitated me."
A female with shoulder-length light blue-green hair, styled in two braids accompanied by two buns on the top sides of her head, hums as she carries 2 bags in her hands.
"Finally! I can go shopping!" The female smiles as she looks at the bags, "Those damn old coots are too strict with their rules! No shopping, no wandering outsi -"
She walks into somebody as she rounds a corner, making her fall down with the bags almost spilling, "Ow! Watch where you're going!" She glares at the offender, who is sheepishly scratching his head.
"Um, sorry. I wasn't paying attention," He sheepishly says with his cheeks red.
She glares at him a bit longer before moving her attention to her bag, only to gasp as she sees some of her clothes on a puddle of green water, "Nooo! My clothes!" She wails before glaring even harder at him.
"Pay for my clothes!"
"Um, alright... How much do they cost?"
The female shows him the receipt, prompting him to take a step back with his eyes wide open, "I can't pay that!"
"Too bad! Now come with me to the police!"
"Nonononono, look, can I pay you in any other way?"
She blinks before putting a finger to her lip, "Hmmm... Well, since you look cute, become my servant for today!" She declares with a haughty smile.
He blinks before awkwardly smiling, "Sure. Tenma at your service."
"This royal person is Beta. Remember it well, servant Tenma!"
