- chapter 6 -
Fae watched on the ground as Tommy build his wall, hugging her legs to her chest. She rested her chin on her knees, fidgeting with her socks. "Are you just gonna be building all day?"
"No," Tommy said, rolling his eyes, "but I do need to get this finished as soon as possible." Fae nodded, giggling quietly.
"Then maybe after we can go see L'manburg?" She asked wistfully, watching Tommy with a hopeful smile.
Tommy looked back at her and his face warmed up. He sighed and looked away quickly, nodding. "Fine, I guess we can- After I get this part of the wall up, okay?"
"Yess," Fae replied with a happy smile, shaking her hands in the air. Tommy looked back and smiled, chuckling. She paused, realizing her overexcitement and dropped her hands by her sides, looking down at the ground.
"Hey, why'd you stop with the, what'cha call 'em, flappy hands?" He asked, chuckling.
"I- I don't know, I just do that sometimes- it's weird, I know," she muttered, running a hand through her hair.
"Nah, it's- it's kinda cute," Tommy replied with a chuckle, meeting eyes with Fae. The girl flushed bright red, her face warming. Tommy's face reciprocated and he looked away, awkwardly clearing his throat. "Y'know, in like- like a dorky, weirdo way."
"Yeah, right," Fae spoke awkwardly, and they sat in awkward silence for a few moments. Fae watched Tommy turn and return to building the wall, humming quietly.
"So, just beware that like, the entire place has collapsed into a crater in the ground so, make sure you don't fall or anything," Tommy said with a chuckle as they climb off the path and towards L'manburg. "So like, don't get yourself killed."
Fae chuckled and nodded, following close beside Tommy. "You must know your way around."
"Well, I did live here basically my whole life," he commented with a chuckled, crossing his arms.
Fae watched as he stopped, taking in the surroundings. He stayed still for a moment and she took a short step closer, resting a hand on his arm. "Must bring back some old memories, doesn't it?" She asked, and Tommy looked up, glancing over at Fae.
"Yeah, it does," he replied with a short chuckle, nodding. "A lot of them, in fact." He exhaled, looking out at the deep pit that was now in the ground. "Y'know, my 'brother' first exploded this place."
"Right, you- you mentioned something about that," Fae spoke quietly, nodding.
"We uh, me and Wilbur, we got kind of banished, from L'manburg and he kind of went berserk, so-"
"Wait, why were you guys kicked out of L'manburg if you basically made the place, right?" She asked, looking over at Tommy in confusion.
"Yeah, well we uhm, we did sort of like, an election? To, y'know, give the people a fair chance to vote on who runs this place," Tommy responded, running a hand through his curls. They walk over to a bridge that floated above the chasm and Tommy stepped onto it, walking forward onto the bridge. "But apparently, the people wanted a shitty ass, alcoholic, maniacal goat man as a president rather than Wilbur."
"Are you talking about the Schlatt guy?" Fae asked, looking over at Tommy. The blonde nods and glances over at the person, chuckling awkwardly.
"Yeah, he uh, he certainly wasn't the best guy, in general," he said, running a hand through his hair. He stayed quiet for a moment, loosing himself in thought. He shook himself back to reality, walking forward. "Anyways, there was a whole thing where he kicked me and Wilbur out of our bloody country, and basically everything went downhill from there."
Fae nodded, running a hand through her hair. She tugged the coat over her closer to her chest, following Tommy. They walked down a downhill path, walking towards the large crater. She looked up, seeing large squares made of black blocks above them, covered with vines. "What's with the stuff in the air?"
Tommy looked up for a moment, stopping. "That uh, that was the TnT cannons Dream and Technoblade made, when they exploded L'manburg."
"But I thought Wilbur exploded L'manburg."
"He did. We rebuilt it after that though, then Dream and Techno blew it up again," Tommy explained, continuing forward.
"Wait, but, Techno's the one you said who- who's gone, right?" Fae asked, speeding up to walk beside Tommy. He nodded, glancing over at the girl. "But then why did he blow up this place? And with- with Dream?" She shuddered slightly as she spoke that name, hearing it was still unnerving.
"Because he hated government and was an anarchist, so Dream practically hired him to destroy the place," Tommy muttered, shoving his hands into the pockets of his shorts. He grabbed Fae's hand and pulled her forward, walking over to a bridge that went over the crater. "Come on, this is the coolest part!"
"Really?" Fae said with a giggle, following Tommy. They both walked over to the bridge, stepping onto it. She looked around, admiring the view. "It's very pretty," she replied, looking over at the blonde.
"Come over to the ledge, and look down," Tommy said, leaning against the ledge.
"Uh, that- that close?" Fae asked, anxiety creeping into her voice.
Tommy chuckled, running a hand through his blonde curls. "Trust me, nothing's gonna happen to you," he replied with a chuckle. "Not like I'm gonna shove you off the edge." Fae chuckled and nodded, walking over. She put her hands on the ledge and leaned forward, looking down into the pit. "Holy shit."
"Isn't it cool?"
"This- Yeah, this is amazing," she said, a huge smile on her face. "The waterfalls and the large mushrooms, it's- it's beautiful!" She looked over at Tommy, seeing him staring at her. They lock eyes for a moment and they turn away, their faces bright red. "So, you- you said Phil did this? The whole, fixing this place up?"
"Yeah, he- he did," Tommy replied, stumbling over his words. "He- he even did the while flag down there."
"It looks incredible," Fae said with a smile, glancing over at the blonde. She watched him for a moment before looking away, leaning against the railing.
"Well, well, well! Didn't expect to see you here, Tommy!" A voice spoke from behind the teenagers and they whirled around. Tommy was the first one to break the silence, chuckling.
"Big Q! Man, how've ya been??" The blonde said with a smile, walking over to the tall, black haired male. Small, fluffy yellow wings poked out from behind his back, fluttering slightly as he smiled at Tommy.
"TOMMY!! I've been- well, times have been better, but I mean we'd both know what that's like," he replied with a laugh, hugging the taller boy. Fae watched as the boys hugged, a small smile tugging on her lips. Don't fall for him, a distorted voice spoke in her head. She paused, trying to figure out if it was her own thoughts, because that never seemed like something she'd think. It's all lies. Don't trust.
"So, who's the hot babe you've got with you?" The man asked, laughing. Fae turned bright red, looking away with a small smile on her face. Tommy playfully shoved the shorter male, crossing his arms.
"Big Q, stop, you flatter me," Tommy joked, earning a smack on the arm from the black haired male. He laughed, looking back over at Fae. "Quackity, this is Fae. Fae, Quackity." Fae looked up and waved, her face still red with embarrassment.
"Nice to meet you, hot stuff," Quackity said with a chuckle, smirking. Tommy rolled his eyes, looking away. "So uh, how'd you two meet?"
"It's uh, it's a long story," Fae replied with a chuckle, brushing strands of hair out of her face.
"Gotcha, gotcha," Quackity spoke with a now, chuckling. "So, you two like, a thing or something-"
"SHUT THE FUCK UP," Tommy shouted, clamping a hand over Quackity's mouth. The boys wrestled with each other for a moment, Quacity trying to pry Tommy's hand off his mouth. "YOU BETTER SHUT UP!"
"What?! It's an honest question!!" Quackity muttered from behind Tommy's hand, his laughter muffled.
Fae giggled quietly, watching the boys with a smile. The two soon stopped, leaning against each other and laughing. They both sighed in unison, standing up straight. "Alright, alright. So, why're you here? Haven't seen you at this place for a while now."
"Well, I wanted to come by and see what this place looks like," Fae replied. "Tommy kept saying such nice things about L'manburg, and how Phil spruced this place up. So, he took me here."
"And you didn't want to take her to some see Las Nevadas?" Quackity asked, chuckling and crossing his arms.
"What's Las Nevadas?" Fae asked, looking over at Tommy.
"It's Big Q's country," the blonde replied, looking down at Fae. "I mean, we- we can go visit if you want to?"
"Yeah, we should totally go there sometime," she said with a smile, shaking her hands out in front of her. She looked up at Tommy with a smile, causing him to smile along with her.
Quackity watched the two, smirking. "Yeah, why don't we head over there today? I can show you the casino, the burger shop- ooh, or the strip club." He raised his eyebrows, chuckling.
"No, no, no, no, no, no, no. We will not be taking her to the strip club," Tommy scolded, glaring at Quackity. The man laughed, patting Tommy on the back.
"But I want to see it," Fae said, giggling.
"NO! No, you are NOT going there!"
"Come on, man! Let the girl go to the strip club," Quackity added, laughing.
"FINE, fine! We'll go to the fuckin' strip club," Tommy said after a few moments of silence. He groaned and rubbed his temple, shaking his head.
Fae giggled and bounced on her feet, smiling. "Yes!"
"Damn, don't think I've ever seen anyone so excited to go to a strip club," Quackity added, chuckling. "You know what? Let's head over there now!"
"Yeah, let's go!" Fae exclaimed, smiling excitedly.
"Fine by me," Tommy replied with a chuckle, nodding.
"Great! I'm sure you'd like to meet some of my workers- I mean, associates," Quackity added with a short laugh, looking over at the teens. "Ah- wait, Tommy. I'm sorry, you can't come. You'll just attract Wilbur-"
"Shut the hell up, Big Q," Tommy muttered, rolling his eyes and walking off. Quackity laughed and followed Tommy, snickering.
"Come on, man! I was joking," Quackity said, smiling. Fae giggled as she rushed forward, catching up beside Tommy and Quackity.
"You mean your 'brother', Wilbur?" She asked, looking over at the blonde.
"Yeah. He and uh, he and Ranboo have- had? They made a burger van outside of Las Nevadas, to compete against Big Q's burger place.
"Why'd he do that?"
"Because man's is like, so obsessed with me," Quackity spoke sarcastically, chuckling. "To be honestly, I don't really know why. Never cared or bothered to ask." Fae nodded, thinking for a moment. Don't trust his words, that familiar distorted voice spoke once more. All he does is lie. Lies! Fae stopped walking for a moment, shaking her head. LIES, FAE-
"Fae, you alright?" Tommy asked, resting a hand on her shoulder.
She looked over at the blonde and nodded hesitantly, trying to force a smile onto her face. "Yeah, I'm- I'm okay."
"Alright," Tommy replied hesitantly, nodding. "Come on, let's keep walking."
"So, she's finally here?" A voice asked as a figure walked into a dark room. It took a step closer to a desk, staring at a turned around chair. The desk slowly turned around and revealed a hooded person wearing a mask. "You said you wanted me to do something about her, right?"
"I need you to, send her a 'message', Punz," the masked man spoke, resting his arms on the table.
"And what 'message' is that, Dream?"
Dream sat silently for a moment, sitting up and crossing his arms. He lifted a hand to his face and pulled down his mask, revealing a pair of green eyes. "Just a little something to, nudge her in the right direction. Think you can do that one, simple task for me?" He slowly, deeply said finally, watching Punz tense up and nod.
"Y- Yes sir," he replied with a nod before lowering her hair. "I'll get right on it, sir." The male in the whits sweatshirt turned and walked off, shutting the door of the room.
Dream sighed and took off his mask, setting it on the table. "He better not mess this up, I need her powers to get rid of that stupid kid." He looked down at some papers on his desk, shaking his head. "This plan better fucking work."
FINALLY FINISHED- anyways, i think this is working out well :) also, if, in the next chapter, i mess anything up abt las nevadas, i apologize! i have not caught up on the lore and i may miss things so if i do, let me know :')
