"This is not good," said Jewel, as she clenched her fists. They were surrounded by Krybots and one bluehead, she hadn't seen since the attack of her planet but still she was scared.
Bridge turned to look at Jewel, "who are they?" he asked, sensing that she was very afraid. He knew that something was wrong. Jewel was the type of person to never show her fear.
Jewel shook her head, "they are Krybots," she said, nodding over to the bluehead. "The bluehead is their commander."
"Why do you know so much about them?" asked Syd.
"They're an army, under the control of the person who destroyed my planet," she simply replied. "Don't underestimate them."
The bluehead nodded, "your friend is right," he said. "Krybots, attack!" The four SPD cadets began to fight the Krybots. Jewel felt one of them grab her waist, she lifted her feet up and roundhouse kicked the other one approaching her when the Krybot threw her to the ground.
Syd, Sky and Bridge rushed over to her. "Are you alright?" asked Bridge and Syd as they helped her up.
"You're shaking," Sky commented.
"It's not over yet," she nodded over to the bluehead who raised his weapon at them. Sky urgently guided them away from the blast.
They were soon cornered again, surrounded by even more of them. "Does anybody mind if I ask a question?" asked Bridge.
"Is this going to be one of those long dried out Bridge type questions that really isn't a question but leaves us asking more questions?" asked Syd.
Bridge frowned, "I ask really long dried out questions?" he noticed Sky and Jewel glaring at him. "Okay, wouldn't now be a good time to morph?"
"Yes," Sky, Syd and Jewel cried out in relief and the four of them got ready to morph.
"Ready?" Sky led first bringing out his morpher.
Jewel, Syd and Bridge followed, "ready!"
"SPD EMERGENCY!" in what felt like the quickest minute of her life. The four SPD cadets morphed into the B squad power rangers for the first time.
Jewel looked through her helmet then towards her friends, Syd was the pink ranger. Bridge was Green. Sky was blue, she looked down to her gloves. She was the purple ranger. A new colour but the A squad only had five rangers, not six. Maybe she was the addition, and most likely an exception to the rule.
"Looking good, Bridgey," said Syd. "You're green and I'm pink! My favourite colour."
Bridge looked at Jewel, "I've never seen a purple ranger before?"
"Neither have I," she admitted, looking across to Sky, who was looking at his uniform like he hated it. "Sky?"
Sky growled, "Blue? I'm Blue?" He questioned. "I am supposed to be the red ranger."
"We've got bigger things on our hands right now," said Jewel, tapping his shoulder and nodding over to the bluehead and Krybots.
The bluehead pointed at the new rangers, "give us what we are looking for."
"If it's a fight you want," said Sky, preparing to fight. "You got it!"
The bluehead pointed at the rangers, "get them!" He ordered the Krybots and they began to fight again. This time it was different. They had the advantage and they all felt it.
"They're robots," commented Sky as he defeated one of the krybots with his striker.
Jewel quickly joined the others, as she managed to take down her group of krybots. "Everyone okay?"
"The power is amazing," said Syd.
Bridge nodded, "totally."
"I'll show you power," said the bluehead, firing at the rangers the blast sent them up into the air and down onto the floor.
Sky looked to his right, seeing Jewel struggling to get up, "you were right about these guys."
"We need to call for backup," said Jewel, wincing a little. "As much as I hate giving Charlie the satisfaction of us losing, the A-Squad are more experienced than us at this."
Syd looked up, "what's that?" she asked looking behind them they could see Jack and Z were on the hi-wire and were taking down Krybots.
"Back off," said Jack as they kicked the bluehead back. They both landed on the ground afterward.
Bridge, Syd and Jewel stood up first. "Yeah," cheered Bridge.
"Good job," agreed Syd.
Sky put a hand across Syd's chest, "save it," he said. "We've still got work to do." They took out their strikers and began to fight the krybots. "It's time to turn it up," he said, bringing out the blaster and joining it up with the striker. "Delta max striker."
"Delta max striker," the three other Rangers joined in, aiming it at the Krybots they fired, watching as they went up in flames.
The bluehead jumped out of the lorry, "what we want is not here," it declared and disappeared into the distance.
"Okay guys," said Sky. "Power down!" Their ranger suits disappeared and they felt a sigh of relief. Sky watched as Bridge and Syd walked over to Jack and Z starting to thank them.
Jewel looked to him, "stop it," she warned him. She reached for her morpher, pressing the communication channel directly to Cruger but keeping it in her pocket.
"They're criminals," he pointed out. "Cruger ordered us to bring them in, Jewel."
"They helped us Sky," she said, walking ahead of him as he tried to meet up with Syd and Bridge. "They could've just run away but they didn't, it must show you something."
Sky shook his head, "is this what you did when you were in Torchwood?" he asked. "Let every criminal go, pat them on the back and then give them some redemption arc? Like you did with Oswald Danes."
"That was uncalled for. That guy was just a psychopath and you know it," Jewel snapped back. "Besides, we only took cautions for the dangerous ones," She explained.
"I don't care," said Sky, "we are still arresting them. Get out of my way, Jewel."
Jewel shook her head, "No," she firmly said. "I'm not letting you arrest them," she turned to see Jack, Z, Syd and Bridge watching like they were on edge.
The six of them looked up as they heard the sound of sirens, and could see Commander Cruger in a patrol car, slamming the breaks down as he saw Jewel trying to stop Sky from doing something stupid.
"Cadet Tate," he growled, seeing him reach for his morpher. "Stand down!"

The drive back to headquarters was a quiet one. When they arrived back at HQ. Jewel, Bridge and Syd jumped out of the patrol car whilst Sky just stormed past them, shoving Jewel out of the way as he walked past.
"Why is he getting his knickers in a twist?" asked Syd.
"Because I was the one who had silently called Cruger," answered Jewel, earning a look from Bridge. "I wasn't about to let him arrest Jack and Z."
Bridge sighed, "they were arrested anyway," he pointed out.
"No," Jewel shook her head. "They're in for questioning, not arrested," she said. "There is a difference."
"He'll calm down right?" asked Bridge, as they walked towards the lift.
Jewel nodded, "give him a couple of hours and he would be right as rain."

'B-Squad Power Rangers report to the training ground for training.' Jewel, who was sitting in the common room reading her book, closed it firmly with a sigh, so much for a break.
Lian, the A-Squad pink ranger walked into the common seeing Jewel getting up from the sofa and smiled softly, "Congratulations on becoming a ranger today," she said. "I heard you guys did a good job fighting the Krybots."
"Thanks Lian," smiled Jewel, as she lowered her book. "I don't think we were expecting it."
"Listen," Lian began, "I'm sorry about yesterday, Charlie is a bitch sometimes."
Jewel rolled her eyes, "that is the understatement of the year," she smiled. "Charlie has been getting her knickers up in a twist a lot recently."
"You didn't hear this from me," she said, "Charlie has been becoming more withdrawn from us half of the time we don't know what she's doing. It's not just you that's been under her wrath."
Jewel nodded, "that's good to know," she tilted her head, "not good for us or Cruger but good to know," she watched as the leader in question walked in with the other A Squad rangers.
"The rumour around the base is that you and the loser squad fought a bluehead and Krybots today," said Charlie, as she walked over to the food synthesiser.
Cristos, the Blue Ranger, laughed. "There is no way they managed to come out of that unscathed."
"We did," said Bridge, who was walking into the commoners from his bedroom at the time "Jack and Z helped us as well," Jewel sighed, shaking her head as the A-Squad laughed in response.
Charlie was laughing the hardest, "the two thieves who are down in the cells now helped you?" she snorted. "That is hilarious, Loser Squad getting common criminals to help them."
"Excuse me," piped up Boom as he walked into the room with purpose but at the same time feeling nervous that Kat had made him do this on his own. "Sorry to interrupt but Kat has asked for the A-Squad for a final weapons check."
"We also better get to training," nodded Jewel, and quickly began pushing Bridge out of the common room. "What in the world made you think 'I know I will let the A-Squad know that Jack and Z helped us?'"
Bridge frowned. "But they did help us?"
"Yes," sighed Jewel, "but that made us look like idiots to them and it gives them an excuse to bully us."
"They can't bully us," said Bridge, "it's against the handbook."
Jewel shook her head, "please, even I chucked the handbook out of the window on day one."

"Rangers," said Cruger as he walked up to the B-Squad Rangers with Z. The four Rangers saluted and into attention. "Elizabeth Delgado has chosen…"
Z waved, "hey, remember me?" she asked, smiling as Bridge nodded with a huge smile on his face. "You can call me Z."
"Hey," greeted Bridge.
Z nodded back. "Hey," she awkwardly smiled, seeing Sky's reaction.
"Miss Delgado has chosen to join SPD," continued Cruger. "I've assigned her to B-Squad."
Sky spoke up, "Sir, she's a criminal," he pointed out.
"Duly noted," said Cruger, leaning his body left slightly.
"Sir, we've been here for years," said Sky, continuing to voice his concerns, "and you put her with us?"
Cruger sighed, "Cadet," he began. "You may be wise to remember that she was a worthy opponent despite your prior training and greater numbers. She is your new team member. I expect you treat her as such."
"So," Z said, trying to liven the mood a little as the Commander left. "What do you guys do for fun around here?"
Sky smirked, "catch criminals," he replied.
"Ignore him," said Jewel, walking over to Z. "Sky is a dick sometimes. I didn't get a chance to introduce myself earlier. My name is Jewel, Jewel Smith."
Z smiled, "nice to meet you, again."
"We should show you around the base," suggested Bridge, as he joined the Purple Ranger.
Jewel nodded, "excellent idea. Oh I can take you to the induction hall to see about your uniform and if they can give you a brief induction."
"Sounds great," nodded Z with a small smile, feeling appreciated that someone was treating her like a team member already.
Sky sighed as he watched Jewel and Bridge lead Z back into the base, "no one else is seeing this as a bad idea?"
"Nope," admitted Syd. "Just you," she began to follow her friends back into the base, leaving Sky on his own.

"Discipline, Control, Teamwork," said Cruger as they all stood around him in the command centre. "These are the elements that make you a Power Ranger but these are things the academy cannot teach you, these are things you must learn for yourself."
Cruger circled around computers until he was near Sky, "any questions?"
"Uh, Sir," Sky raised his hand. "Seems to be some kind of mistake. I was given the blue ranger…"
"There is no mistake," confirmed Cruger.
Syd rolled her eyes, "let it go, Sky," she said.
"I agree," nodded Jewel, "you are starting to sound like a broken record now mate."
"I know it would've made a difference fighting those goons," Sky snapped back at her.
Z frowned, "who are you calling a goon?"
"He doesn't mean you," answered Jewel. "He meant the Krybots."'
Cruger's eyes widened, "Krybots?" He looked over to the purple ranger who nodded.
"They were weird, huh?" asked Bridge. "They had these big soccer ball heads and kept on going bing, bing!" He tried to demonstrate with his head the Krybots movements.
"They are troobian robotic foot soldiers. They do not feel pain, they do not show emotion, they show no mercy," explained Cruger. "They are programmed to serve and destroy."
Jewel swallowed hard, "there was also a bluehead leading them, Commander."
"A bluehead," cried Cruger, lowering his head, he had never known Jewel to be wrong. "Grumm's elite robotic guard. This is more serious than I thought," he turned to Z. "Do you know what they were after?"
Z shook her head. "We had nothing of value," she admitted. "Everything we stole-I mean we acquired to the poor."
"They were after something," mused Cruger. The alarms began to blare and Kat's voice came over the intercom.
Sky smiled, "finally some action!"
"As it's your first outing," said Jewel, chucking the patrol car keys to Z. "Z you can drive."
Bridge frowned. "That is not fair. I wanted to drive."
"You'll get your chance again buddy," she patted his shoulder, looking across to Syd. "Not you though."
Syd pouted. "It was one time."
"What happened?" asked Z, curiously as she held the patrol car keys in her hand.
"Even I know this one," smiled Cruger. "Cadet Drew nearly drove into the central carriageway."
Syd's mouth opened wide, "how does he know?"
"There are cameras on the patrol car," answered Jewel, as she began pushing her out of the command centre.
End of part three.
