The next morning, Regina wakes up with a slight hangover.
She groans and looks to the alarm clock, upon her side table. Which reads, 9.14am and she is surprised, as she rarely sleeps in this late.
"MOM, EMMA'S HERE" She then hears Henry shout from the landing, and she sits up in her bed with wide eyes.
Emma's here? she thinks to herself in surprise and quickly gets up.
She then, puts her robe on whilst looking at herself in her mirror. Before brushing her hair, so she looks presentable.
Before, heading downstairs and she stops at the bottom of the stairs. As Emma comes walking back into the house, with two take away cups from the diner.
She takes a moment to appreciate the sight.
Emma's wearing her boots, tight jeans, a wool jumper and her cute beanie hat.
"Hey" Emma beams, at seeing Regina.
"Good morning, Emma. What are you doing here, at this early hour?" she asks softly.
"Well, I've dropped your gifts off and thought, that you might need your morning fix" she holds up one of the coffee cups in her hands.
"That's every thoughtful of you"
"I know, I'm great" Emma then jokes with a wide smile and Regina rolls her eyes playfully.
Emma then, eyes Regina's grey silk robe and her eyes linger briefly, on the small amount of flesh, that is showing near Regina's chest.
"Did Madame Mayor, sleep in this morning?" she then asks, whilst looking away with a smirk upon her face and Regina takes a deep breath.
"I may have" she replies simply.
"And there was me, thinking you got up at the crack of dawn every morning"
Regina scoffs. How did Emma know her so well, she thinks to herself.
"That may be true but today is a rare exception. Shall we?" she replies and gestures towards the kitchen and Emma nods in agreement.
Moments later, Regina goes to sit upon one of the stools at the island in the middle of the kitchen and Emma goes to sit opposite.
She then, hands Regina her coffee.
"I hope you don't mind me turning up like this. I can leave if you wish" Emma says simply and Regina shakes her head.
"No, you're okay. It is actually nice, to have some adult company. Especially when you bring coffee"
"Yeah, you can't go without it otherwise you will be grumpy all day" Emma jokes.
"It's medicinal"
"Of course, it is" Emma smirks.
They then sit in silence for a moment, simply enjoying each other company and Regina takes a sip of her drink.
"So, how are you this morning?" Emma then asks.
"A little headache but nothing major. What about you?"
"I'm good. I had a good time last night. It was fun"
"It was. I hope, I didn't make a fool out of myself" Regina grimaces.
"No, you were as graceful as ever. It was me, who made a fool out of myself" Emma chuckles.
"How?" Regina frowns, she doesn't remember Emma doing anything embarrassing.
"I ruined your dress remember?"
"Oh yes" Regina smiles. "You thought groping me with a napkin, was fixing it" she smirks and Emma gapes at her for moment and then goes red in embarrassment.
Reigna laughs at her reaction.
"Anyway" Emma then says, trying to change the subject. "David is picking Henry up at ten, his going to take him fishing"
"Does Henry know?"
"Yeah, I told him when he answered the door to me"
"Okay"
"Um, what are your plans for today?" Emma then asks out of curiosity.
"I don't know. Maybe a long bath and a good book to read. I haven't made time to myself for a while."
Emma tries, not to think of Regina naked in the bath and she swallows thickly.
"If you haven't got any plans for this evening, maybe you'd like to join me and Henry for dinner?" Regina asks seriously and Emma then beams.
"I haven't got any plans, I mean, I'd like that. Yeah" she replies a little flustered and Regina just smiles at her, before taking a sip of her coffee.
Later that evening, Emma curls her hair and changes into a best tight jeans and puts a thick black and white jumper on.
She then, looks in the mirror to check, that she looks presentable and then says "You've got this swan, don't be nervous. It's not a date" to herself and then heads out.
Upon arriving at Regina's, Emma takes a deep breath to calm her nerves down.
It's just Regina, she tells herself and she gets out the car and walks up to the front door.
Where she rings the doorbell and Henry answers the door.
"Hey kiddo" Emma greets with a smile.
"Hey mom, Ma's got her best plates out and she is cooking Lasagna. What did you do, to get her in such a good mood?" he asks and steps back, so, Emma can step inside.
"I don't know. All I did was bring her coffee this morning"
"I don't think coffee would make her this happy" he then mutters, and Emma tilts her head in curiosity.
It is then, that Regina appears, and her smile is wide and warm.
Emma melts at the sight.
"Good evening, Emma. I am glad you could make it" Regina greets her, whilst she looks Emma over with interest.
The blonde suddenly feels a little underdressed. As Regina, is wearing a fancy sleeveless grey dress and heels.
"Well, I wouldn't want to miss your famous Lasagna" she then replies with a wink and Regina, can't help but find Emma very attractive in that moment.
Meanwhile, Henry is looking between the pair in confusion.
His moms have an intense look upon their faces.
"When will dinner be ready?" he then asks, which breaks the two women out of there pining contest.
"Soon" Regina then replies, and he nods before heading off up the stairs, leaving Regina and Emma to make their way to the kitchen.
Where Regina hands Emma a bottle of her homemade cider.
"I may have to have just the one, as I got to drive back later" Emma says, as she takes the bottle.
"Your more than welcome, to stay in one of the guest bedrooms tonight, if you want would rather drink" Regina then tells her.
"Oh, Thanks for the offer, Regina. I might take you up on that" she smiles and Regina smiles back.
An hour and fifteen minutes later, they had finished dinner and were now getting settled upon Regina's sofa in the lounge.
"I think I'm going to burst" Emma tells Regina, as she rubs her belly.
"Why is that?" Regina smirks back.
"I ate too much, but your Lasagna tasted soooo good, I couldn't help myself" she beams at the older woman and Regina chuckles, whilst feeling kind of proud, that Emma likes her cooking.
Neither had noticed, Henry was putting a film on and it's not until he says "It's starting" that they turn, to see that they are about to watch Harry Potter and the half-blood prince.
"How Ironic" Emma then says with an eyeroll and Regina snorts.
After forty minutes of the movie, Regina was starting to fall asleep. Her head, then starts to fall sideways onto Emma's left shoulder and the blonde woman gasps at the contact.
Emma then, sits like a statue for a long moment. As one of Regina's hands grips possessively at Emma's jumper.
This woman is going to be the death of me, she thinks to herself. As she looks over to Henry, who is oblivious and is staring at the tv screen.
It's not, until the movie has finished, that Henry notices that Regina is laying on Emma and he smiles at the sight. Before saying "I got to take a photo of this" and he gets up and hurries out to get his camera.
Moments later, he returns and takes a photo with a grin on his face, and he can't wait to show it to his grandparents.
The camera, then begins to push out the picture at the front, as it is an instant polaroid camera and the noise of the camera, makes Regina stir and she opens her eyes slowly.
"Hey sleepy head" Emma mutters softly, as Regina leans up and the older woman quickly realizes, that she had been laying on Emma and she could die in embarrassment.
"Sorry. I didn't mean..." she mutters and quickly stands up. Which makes Emma sigh.
"It's okay." she then replies, and Regina takes a deep breath, whilst running a hand down her dress.
"Hey, look ma" Henry then says and shows the photo, that he had taken to Regina, who's eyes go wide.
There she was, laying on Emma with her hand holding onto Emma's jumper and Emma was laying on head against Regina with a small smile upon her face.
"You took a photo of us" she says is disbelief.
"Yeah, you both looked cute" Henry replies simply, like it's no big deal and both Regina and Emma then gape at him for a moment. Before beginning to blush.
"It's great that you two are friends now" he then says pleased and adds "It means, we can have nights like this" and his words warm both his mother's hearts.
"I don't know about that; your mom may get sick of having me around" Emma then says jokingly and Regina scoffs.
"I don't think. that I could ever get sick of having you around Emma. Even with your idiotic tenancies"
"Don't you mean, my dorky sidekick tenancies?" Emma jokes back and Regina rolls her eyes playfully.
Henry, meanwhile, is looking at the pair with a scrunched-up face.
You two are weird" He then says seriously and both Emma and Regina laugh.
