"Wait… Five minutes?"
"That's…"
Tsuyu, Midoriya, Yaoyorozu, and Iida were in the monitor room watching Leizcio, Kaminari, and Ashido's match against Nezu. The angle they got was of Leizcio showing the other two that they'd get their match done in five minutes.
"Attempting to do it that fast against our principal? He's being too overconfident!"
"Even with Esperanza's quirk back, he can't move as fast as before…"
"I'm sure he can do it."
Everyone's focus was shifted to Yaoyorozu for that moment.
"Even if his quirk came back to him the week before, there's no doubt that he's already tried to think of ways around this. If there's one thing he can do best, he can adapt to the situation no matter how fast it changes. Even when it may seem that there's no fighting chance, he still did what he could to try and win." Yaoyorozu explained to the others.
"You sure have a lot of faith in him, especially with him and the others going against Nezu, ribbit."
"Of course I do, he's trained just as hard as all of us if not more to get to where he is, I have no doubt he'll find a way for their team to win."
"Espe are you crazy?!"
"No! Well… Listen, we got this, we just need to find the gate so we can get through it and pass."
"But how are we going to find it in the first place?"
"We take the high ground."
Before Leizcio could jump, he noticed that there were a few pipes around them shaking and even bolts shooting off of them.
"What's that sound?"
"Doesn't matter! Start running! NOW!" Leizcio yelled as he began running with the two confused but deciding to follow.
In a matter of seconds, the infrastructure behind them was turned into falling debris, quickly tailing the three of them as they continued to run.
"Espe, what's going on?!"
"The environment! The principal is trying to either crush us or lead us away from the gate!"
"I'd prefer the second option!"
Like being chased by a monster, the three were running for their lives hoping not to be squashed under the destruction that followed them. Keeping this up would only tire them out and give them less time to find the gate. Thinking of a solution, Leizcio sees an untouched area far ahead of them.
'If we can hide for even just a few seconds, it'd be just what we need…'
"Kaminari! Hold my hand!"
"Dude what?!"
"Give it!"
Kaminari reluctantly held onto Leizcio's hand, "What now Espe?"
"I'm going to blitz the both of us ahead and see if we can find a hiding spot!"
"Wait what about me?!"
"Ashido, use your quirk! Use your acid to give yourself some momentum and outrun the debris!"
"OH! Right!"
"Okay Kaminari! Hold on!"
"Wai-"
A strong gust of wind was formed as Leizcio used his pulses to mimic his speed by using it in each step as he 'ran' and got to the area in a matter of a few seconds. Ashido wasn't as fast but she managed to catch up and evade the falling wreckage, granting the three of them a second to breathe. Ashido decided it best to be hidden from outside and melted down a wall of the building, getting the other two to follow her inside.
"Okay, we should probably be safe for a bit until he finds where we are."
"How is he even doing any of this?"
"Probably precise calculations. Whatever he's using, it's causing chain reactions for buildings to fall one by one, and if we're not fast enough, we'll have no way of getting to the gate."
"But we have to do something!"
'C'mon Lei, think… think…'
"Espe, if you can't use your speed, then what did you do exactly?"
"I used my energy to create pulses that can boost me forward and replicate the speed a bit, I can also use it to jump higher and everything."
"If I charged you, then we could go faster right?"
"Yeah but even then, my perception won't match it and even with Ashido's acid, I don't think it'd be potent enough to burn through buildings that fast."
"Then why don't we take it to the sky?"
Ashido caught the attention of both Leizcio and Kaminari, the two ready to listen to her idea.
"Espe, you said you can jump real high and move forward right? Then couldn't you almost fly if you kept doing it repeatedly if you're up in the sky?"
"A-and if you run out of energy, I'm like your portable battery and you just say when!"
"Then Ashido can use her acid when we're going to descend and smoothen the landing!"
"DUDE!"
"DUDE!"
The three have hit a revelation and a new plan formed and it was just a matter of executing.
"Wait, but what if Nezu planned that out too?"
"That's the perfect thing, he hasn't. He doesn't know about my ability's usage or the fact that we'll even be going to the sky when most of his attacks are on the ground."
"But what about me and Kaminari? I kinda forgot that you'd have to carry us if we want this to work…"
"I can, I'm strong enough. It's just a matter of who goes where."
"Guys… I think Nezu's onto us…" Kaminari said pointing to the hole Ashido melted. Buildings in the distance were beginning to shake.
"Alright, positions! Choose em now! We need to get out of here fast!"
Kaminari went behind Leizcio and clung to his back, wrapping his arms around Leizcio's neck. Should he need the boost, Kaminari would be able to give him the energy to do so. Leizcio with Kaminari on his back ran outside with Ashido and the two were mentally preparing themselves. Ashido stood in front of him and Leizcio curled his arms under hers to keep safe as Ashido grabbed onto his.
"Are you guys ready?!"
"Yeah!"
'Okay… Here goes.'
"GO!"
In the blink of an eye, the three were up in the air high above and were safe from the calamity that Nezu has been creating in the area. However, Kaminari and Ashido were also a bit frightened about the height they were at/
"ESPE DO THE THING!"
"Hold on!"
Leizcio then let himself fall a bit into position and proceeded to boost through the air with his pulses. He made his pulses strong enough to move the three of them forward through the arena but not to an extent that they'd be too fast for their eyes to register.
"It feels like we're flying!"
"No, more like falling with style!"
"C'mon Espe, isn't that close enough?"
"Fine, fine. Can you see the gate yet Ashido?"
"Yeah! Keep going forward, we're on the right track!"
"Okay! Just let me know when you think we should start descending!"
Before Ashido could respond, Kaminari looked behind him and saw a piece of debris rapidly approaching them.
"ESPE, BOOST NOW!"
"What? Okay?"
Leizcio upped the strength of his pulse that time and they managed to evade the stray piece of rubble from hitting them.
"Epse, I think we need to start slowing down like now!"
"Shit, the boost must've been too strong. Hold onto me tightly!"
The two strengthened their grip on Leizcio as he stopped making pulses, making their descent forward quick.
"Espe, start backing it up now!"
"Okay! Start making some acid for us to slide on then!"
They were still headed at an angle but were close to reaching the gate. The issue was that they were falling quickly and Leizcio was using his boosts to try and cut the velocity but they were getting weaker with each one.
"Kaminari! Charge!"
"Gotcha!"
Kaminari let out a bit of energy and Leizcio's body absorbed it. Feeling that rush, Leizcio was able to repeatedly make small pulses from his feet, slowly falling close to the ground.
With one last pulse, they were safe to land safely onto the puddle of non-viscous and neutral acid, letting them slide through the gate.
"Team Ashido, Kaminari and Esperanza have passed!"
"We… We actually did it… HAH SUCK IT PRINCIPAL NEZU!"
"YEAH SUCK IT!"
Kaminari and Ashido were both excited to say the least that they passed the exam while Leizcio just laughed at the two's antics. He pulled out his phone to check one last thing and smiled at it.
"Hey guys, remember the thing about doing this in five minutes?"
"There's no way…"
Leizcio showed the two his phone.
Four minutes, Fifty-Five Seconds.
