Landing in a place that looks like Blackbelly Skatepark, the sky is starting to turn blue and Agent 3 is slowly waking forward and carrying her Hero Shot while searching for a certain inkling girl.
"Zero? Zero! Where are you!? I just wanted to know more about you!" Agent 3 calls out as the city in the valley is deserted.
With Zero not being found, 4 octolings arrive as they're holding different weapons.
The lead one, Serika, is back with the other 3 octoling girls.
"Hello, murderer."
"Murderer? Hey, you're that octoling from yesterday!" Agent 3 called out as she pointed up.
"The name is Serika and I'll make sure ya won't survive this time." Said Serika as she points her Octo Charger down at Agent 3.
Serika's group is different with an octoling carrying an Octo Roller, the other holds the Octo Splatling and the one behind holds out the Octo Dualies.
To Agent 3's surprise, Serika appears to have black tentacle hair with seaweeds floating on and wears the octo glasses.
Agent 3 takes a few steps backwards and points up her Hero Shot.
Until a familiar inkling girl (who is now without a cape) arrives and stands in front of the octolings.
"Huh? Ya serious right? Why are you staring like that? Are you seeing a ghost?" The angry octoling asked.
"Nah! She's here to kick your butt! Now pre-"
"HEY! I'm talking here!" The angry octoling shouted as it intimidated Agent 3.
"Sorry!" Agent 3 exclaims.
"What the shell are ya!?"
As Zero remained quiet, Agent 3 is looking at Zero as she can tell that she's glaring at the octolings in cold blood.
"Quit ignoring us!" The angry octoling yelled.
"Hey! We want to know who are yo-"
"Silence." Zero snaps while keeping her cool.
With Agent 3 staying quiet as Zero orders her to, the octolings aren't taking Zero's call too kindly.
"Silence? Inkling, we've been silenced far enough. Ya think you're the boss of us? You're wrong!" Serika snaps, releasing her Octo Charger with a glare. "Prepare yourself, Agent 3!"
Spinning her Hero Shot, Zero is ready to face 4 octolings as she glares at them.
"Bring it, underground dweller."
Finally, the Octo Charger fires as Zero dodges, shoots some of the yellow ink over and morphs into a squid by swimming hastily.
Then she hides as the other 3 octolings are charging outside towards Zero's hiding spot.
Sliding in front of the octoling trio, Agent 3 holds out her own Hero Shot and raises it forward out of confidence.
"Don't worry, Zero! I'll protect you!"
Before Agent 3 fires, 3 octoling zooms past her as if they ignore her.
"What?" Agent 3 flatly called while turning behind herself.
Behind Zero's hiding spot, Agent 3 can hear the octoling girls' screaming which surprises both her and Serika.
SPLAT!
Serika grunts, realising that there's no end to this girl.
Coming out, Zero appears to be clean with no ink stains and was carrying 3 octo weaponry with a glare.
"Your turn, octarian." Zero growled.
"Tch! You're lucky. I was just going easy on you!" Serika is retreating again after Zero being so brutal and sneaky.
"Coward…"
As Agent 3 excitedly runs towards Zero, Zero herself halts and then closes her eyes.
"Zero! You did it!"
Before Agent 3 hugs Zero, she misses as Zero moves pass without a single word to say, causing Agent 3 to turn around in confusion.
Zero has vanished again.
"Zero…"
"Oh my, I didn't know you managed to take on the octolings alone." An inkling girl's voice called as she appears with another inkling girl in similar uniforms as Rei.
"N- No, it's actually another inkling girl who did it! I was about to, but she did all the work for me, ahaha!" Agent 3 laughs.
"Huh? Are you stupid? We saw the whole thing. Don't be dumb." The inkling with pigtails said.
The oldest and tallest inkling girl has the hippie style as Agent 3 while hopping down with a kindhearted smile as her eye closes, making her the older sister type.
"You're Agent 3? Aren't I jealous? I was locked as Agent 3.7." Agent 3.7 was surprised as she smiled. "The one with me is Agent 3.2, and she's been with me for months."
Agent 3.2 is the one with pigtails and was a little taller than Agent 3 in height.
"So you're Agent 3. I have to say, quite impressive for someone under the age of fourteen. I would like to introduce myself, but I'll pass for now." Agent 3.2 turns away without a hint of anger or a smile.
With Agent 3 standing still while confused, Agent 3.7 appears and stands next to her with concern.
"Agent 3.2 is not a bad inkling, she's just neutral to those new in the New Squidbeak Splatoon. It's for the best to refrain from mentioning Daigo."
Gasping, Agent 3 can tell what's going to affect Agent 3.2 as it already hits her chest as well as bringing Zero to her.
But who is Zero?
"Hm? You too?" Agent 3.7 stops and realises that Agent 3 was also involved with Daigo's death.
"Y- Yeah…" Agent 3 answers quietly.
"Oh my! I'm so sorry."
"It's alright. I can handle it! Ahaha…" Laughing it off, Agent 3 lied.
Afterwards, the inkling duo are following Agent 3.2 as quickly as they walk.
The city is still dark as the sky is bright blue and the sun is blocked by some buildings, but that doesn't stop the inkling girl trio from moving forward and searching for a certain location in this deserted city.
Stopping, Agent 3.2 points at the sky as it shows an Octostriker flying towards a certain location.
The trio nods and moves forward by morphing into squids and swimming faster.
What they found is a large hole where the river streams which are heading to the sewer cave as a random doll being dragged there without moving.
"Is that where this octarian goes?" Agent 3 asked.
"Yeah. Look up." Agent 3.2 points up at the sky again.
As Agent 3 did, she can tell how many octarians and octolings are moving through the cave entrance as they didn't notice any intruders.
"But why?"
"I think it's either a meeting or a plan to counter us from going forward." Agent 3.7 answers while unsure.
"Hmph. If these guys try the latter, then I'll kill 'em!" Agent 3.2 holds out her Hero Dualies as she glares.
Agent 3 starts jumping forward and lands in front of the entrance and is followed by Agent 3.2 and 3.7.
"Are we really going in there?" Agent 3 nervously asks after she realised what's going to happen after Daigo yesterday.
"I get it, newbie, you're scared. But we really need to get that zapfish and once we do, we'll save the Great Zapfish." Agent 3.2 answers calmly as she moves forward. "Oi, 3.7, you have any night vision goggles?"
"Oh, yes I do. It took me a while to detach those stealth goggles from the helmet, here." Agent 3.7 hands out the goggles as she tosses one to Agent 3.2.
With the trio putting them on, they can get through and stealthily follow the octarians.
"Let's go." Said Agent 3.7.
"Oh! Right!" Before Agent 3 moves, she can see Zero standing behind her and then walk past her.
"Remember your trials."
Then she vanished again into the dark, causing Agent 3 to slowly move forward and hold her chest while keeping her cool.
Later.
The trio are walking quietly with their stealth goggles on as the sounds of the water streams into their pointy ears, giving the impression that the sewer isn't as abandoned as some inklings made it out to be.
Wouldn't it be great if Callie and Marie are around?
"Hold it. Octolings at 9 o'clock." Agent 3.2 whispered.
"Huh? Why are they here?" Agent 3 asked.
"Dunno. Let's listen closely."
"Right." Both Agent 3 and 3.7 went closer as the trio were listening to the octolings' discussion.
One of the octolings appears to be Serika, the elite and another one is a different elite who has a flower accessory on her head.
"That inkling is coming and she's about to mow us down! She not only survived our all-out attack, but she just brutalised our squad!" Serika hisses.
"It's okay. I know how to ambush this inkling." The other elite octoling said.
"But, auntie, she's the newest member of the New Squidbeak Splatoon, our enemy, and she took us down like it was nothing!"
"Like I said: it's okay. Faster, stronger, smarter? I can handle it all. We just need to focus on trying to bring back as many zapfishes as we can. Right now, our boss needs us for something important." Serika's aunt raises her hand and pat her niece's shoulder out of kindness.
"Yes, auntie." Serika follows her aunt as the duo are marching towards a different area in the sewers.
With both octolings gone, 3 agents are staring at the hallway as they have no idea what's happening over there.
Marching, Agent 3 lowers her head, feeling as if she's a burden to those 2 which is rare for her to feel like that.
Bzzt!
"Stupid"
Bzzt!
"Ngh!" Agent 3 grunts as her head is starting to flash with static as she hears a voice inside her head.
"Huh? Three?" Agent 3.7 lowers herself and lifts Agent 3 up.
"You alright?" Agent 3.2 asks as she's slowly getting concerned.
"Yeah…" Agent 3 answers in a moody tone.
"Alright. If you need some rest, then let us know." Said Agent 3.2.
"Thank you." Agent 3 sighs.
Finally, Agent 3 is recovering while following the other 2 agents before footsteps had Rei's attention.
Standing behind the trio is once again Zero as she remains quiet.
"Ah! Zero! Are you here to join us!?" Agent 3 cheers as she waves.
"Huh?" Agent 3.2 and 3.7 halts and looks at each other out of confusion.
"Oh! This is Zero, the one that took down the octolings earlier. You girls thought it was me, but we look exactly the same! Ahaha! Let's go!" After Agent 3 introduces Zero, she then drags Zero down through the sewers, excited to have a group of 4 inklings teaming up.
"Who?" Agent 3.2 is flabbergasted out of confusion.
"I don't know." Agent 3.7 is on the same boat.
Afterwards both inklings are following Agent 3 and Zero while tracking down the octarians.
10 minutes later.
4 yellow inklings are behind an average door where there's a horde of octarians and octolings in the meeting with a big screen turned on.
"Who is that?" Agent 3 gasps.
"No idea, but that is one scary looking octarian." Agent 3.2 whispers.
[Ahem! Is this thing on? Ah! Yes it is! Ahem! Octarians, octolings and any other molluscs involved, I have a message for all of you to send out! There is an inkling on the loose and she's one of Cuttlefish's children who tried to take away what's precious to us! We may pray for our lost soldiers, but their deaths will not be in vain! We will capture the inklings and Cuttlefish! We're done being their prey! We'll become predators and let the food chain end right there!]
The octolings cheer as it causes Zero to slam the door open out of sheer anger.
"Huh? It's her! Get 'er!" The standard octoling shouted as many held out various weapons as well as the octarians pointing their guns at Zero.
"Aww, that's adorable, you wanna play with me, don't you? Hmph! Filthy vermin." Zero raises 6 Suction Bombs and throws them all like knives as well as firing her Hero Shot at the flying octarians before they fire and bomb her.
A couple of octolings are screaming as they muffle on the said bomb until…
SPLAT! SPLAT and more SPLAT!
"What the fishing shell is going o-"
SPLAT! One octoling down.
"KAIZO!"
SPLAT! And another one down.
Zero then slides 3 Curling Bombs and then morph into a squid by swimming towards the rest of the octolings.
SPLAT! At the same time as the Octo Brellas are protecting those with different weapons as the male one with the Octo Shot leads them all.
"Tch! FIRE!"
"Right!" The octoling army replies as many of them are firing straight towards a splashing ink which causes Zero to swim under and mine some Splat Bombs under the octolings.
"SHI-"
Then… SPLAT!
Yellow paint is spreading all over the room as Zero is mercilessly hunting more octarians down.
In Agent 3's eyes, it's just like how she and Daigo teamed up earlier and caused chaos in their territory.
"Guys! Did you see- Eh!?" Agent 3 exclaims about many octarians coming from behind.
Coming out is a bunch of Twintacle Octodivers and more bouncing Octoballs which leads Agent 3.2 to hold out her Hero Dualies and Agent 3.7 to hold her Hero Blaster.
"Tch! What the hell? Did she really have to alert the octarians?" Agent 3.2 grunts.
"I think you mean shell. But I get how you're feeling. I'm the same as you." Agent 3.7 points her blaster forward.
"Well let's party, shall we!?" Agent 3.2 grins and then fires her Hero Dualies at the Twintacle Octodivers as they're firing and then gets splatted on.
Then Agent 3.2 slides under an Octoball and boots the other to the river which dilutes the octarian and then fires separately at 2 Twintacle Octodivers, splatting them into yellow paint on the rounded wall.
Unfortunately for the Octoballs, they're stuck on a yellow puddle of ink as Agent 3.7 watches them struggling to roll out.
"Sorry." Agent 3.7 sarcastically apologises as she fires her Hero Blaster at the Octoballs which burns their eyes as they yell.
SPLAT!
The octoling boy swings his Octobrush, but is instantly blocked by Agent 3.7's Hero Blaster gun.
Then he was embraced to her voluptuous breasts causing the octoling boy to squirt blue ink out of his nose.
"Oh my, aren't you a lonely one. I'm so sorry about your family's loss." Agent 3.7 coos.
"Wh- What are ya talkin' about? Get off me!" The octoling boy tries to resist Agent 3.7's warm and soft kindness.
"It's okay. Big sister will always help, especially if you're sad."
"Huh?" The octoling boy then stops as he remembers his memories with his own sister who died prior to Agent 3's arrival.
Then, he grunts.
"Ya don't know anythin' carp about my big sister… Stop trying to mimic her!"
"I wasn't. Big sister will make sure to take care of you." Agent 3.7 whispers.
The octoling boy felt defeated as he's bursting to tears, realising that she was trying to comfort him.
"E- Really?"
Agent 3.7 then nods as her smile widens a little. "Of course, now let big sister take you to the afterlife, aah."
"Eh?"
The octoling boy is doomed as he witnessed Hero Dualies on his back and a Hero Blaster, carried by Agent 3.7, right in front of him.
Then…
SPLAT!
That's the last of the octarian attack, causing Agent 3 to stare in awe as she's thinking about them being a couple of these experts from turf wars.
"Cool…~"
After the octarian attack, 4 inklings are inside a inkstained room as the screen is left on with an octarian looking shocked.
[Oh… Grr! You! You're that brat who murdered my people! And I see you brought in your friends! Mark my words, inkling, I will-]
Interrupted by a fist that is breaking the screen, the inkling trio and an octarian leader shrieks after Zero breaks the glass in anger.
"Can it, octarian! I hope to Cod that I will find you one day." Zero growled.
"Zero!" Agent 3 squeaks as she panics.
As the octarian leader clears his throat to avoid being scared of a little inkling, he then glares at the inklings while bringing out a threatening aura on 4 inklings.
[You don't scare me! The Great Zapfish is ours and you can't do anything about it! Until we meet again if you survive!]
Finally, the octopus turns off the screen, testing to see if any inkling survives his traps and ambushes in his home territory.
With that out of the way, Agent 3.2 stands right in front of Zero with the look of displeasure.
"You really have to do that, don't you? Do you have any idea what it's gonna cost us!? Tell me. Do you have a grudge against the octarians?"
This causes Zero to throw her arm, clench her fist on Agent 3.2 as well as hitting the wall with a glare.
"Saki! Please! Let her go!" Agent 3.7 called out of worry after witnessing what Zero was doing.
"Zero! Stop it! Please let her go! She was worried about you!" Agent 3 is trying to pull Zero's arm as if she has too much strength.
Zero can see the looks of Agent 3.2's eyes as those eyes are filled with fear and worry which had Zero thinking about how Callie and Marie felt.
"Ggk… Agent… Th-... Thr-" Agent 3.2 is struggling to breathe as Zero's fist is far too strong to push off.
Then she lets go of Agent 3.2 by dropping her to the ground which had Agent 3.2 coughing, leading Zero to walk past Agent 3 and look into her eyes.
"Worried about me? You mean she's worried about you."
"Eh? What do you mean?" Agent 3 asked.
"You'll find out."
Before Zero leaves, she and Agent 3 can see another inkling for afar walking past and heading straight towards the direction Agent 3, 3.2 and 3.7 ignored earlier.
Then Agent 3 turns towards a coughing Agent 3.2 as Agent 3.7 is rubbing Agent 3.2's back and soothes her pain.
"Agent 3.2! I'm sorry about Zero. Are you okay?" Agent 3 asks as she's reaching her arm to help out.
"Zero?" Before Agent 3.2 asks, she coughs out a few yellow ink in order to clear her throat.
As she can see Agent 3 reaching her arm, Agent 3.2 pushes it away a little hard with her back hand, refusing to be helped by Agent 3 herself.
"I'm fine."
Then she walks past Agent 3 without a word except disdain, leading Agent 3 to lower her head and look at her own hand out of confusion.
"What was that about?" Agent 3 asks Agent 3.7.
"I don't know. Even if you did apologise, 3.2 is still angry at you for earlier. Maybe she'll cool down and that way, you can talk to her again." Said Agent 3.7.
Afterwards, the inkling girls are putting their night vision goggles back on while continuing as Agent 3 felt guilty after what Zero did earlier.
But in Agent 3's confusion, who is that guy they're walking in the same direction as?
