Saving A Huttlet

If there is one planet that Anakin hates, it is Tatooine. The planet is full of sand and he hates sand with a passion. He is out of his depth and needs advice on how to teach a padawan, so he decided to ask Obi-Wan for advice.

All Obi-Wan said was "Teach her everything I taught you, it will be fine."

"As if," Anakin thinks to himself as they split up, so Obi-Wan can pretend to surrender. Anakin and Ahsoka went to destroy the shield generator. Their plan was going to work right because no one would ever suspect them to be in moving crates. Anakin and Ahsoka reach the shield generator without causing too much suspicion. Obi-Wan wondered where Anakin went, as he discussed terms of "surrender" with the enemy General.

"And of course, after I surrender, my troops will need to be taken care of. Tell me, do you have enough food for them?" he asks jokingly.

"You're stalling." the general replies.

"No no, now why would I do that?"

Just then the generator turned off. "Took him long enough." Obi-Wan says as he slices the Battle droids and points his lightsaber at the General. "Where were we? Ah yes, I believe we were discussing your surrender." He leads the General away.

Anakin and Ahsoka contacted the temple and got briefed for their mission while Obi-Wan spoke with Cody. Anakin jumps in his fighter, while Ahsoka gets one from the ship. It's navy blue with a white republic symbol. They fly to the cruiser and set a course for Tatooine. Anakin wanted to get to know his new padawan better, so he asked her how she became a Jedi.

"Master Plo found me when my village was destroyed and brought me to the temple. I was trained there until I became your padawan." Ahsoka told him, he thought for a little while.

Ahsoka reminded him of himself when he was her age. He might not know how to teach but he would protect her with his life. "I will do my best to teach you, but I am not your average Jedi. I care about people and I care about you. Even though I just met you I see you as my little sister. This is the first thing I will teach you, do not call me Master, do you understand?" Anakin says.

"Ok, then, what do I call you?" Ahsoka asked, puzzled by his statement.

"Call me Anakin. I might explain why, but don't plan on it." He replied.

Just then his comm went off. "Skywalker, the Huttlet has been moved to Teth. Take your padawan and go rescue it." The gruff voice of Mace Windu said when Anakin answered the call.

"Okay, we're on our way." Anakin replied as he programmed the Nav Computer. They blasted off into hyperspace, the thoughts in Anakin's head racing as fast as the streaks of blue beside him. In the matter of twenty-four hours he was given a padawan and sent on a mission with said padawan to rescue the child of one of his worst enemies. He was also trying to figure out how to raise his baby sister, at least that's how he sees Ahsoka. A few hours later they approached the purplish surface of Teth. They touched down on the jungle planet as an eerie feeling surrounded them in the force. As they left the ship, Ahsoka glanced around with wide eyes, taking in her surroundings with awe. Approaching an abandoned temple, they entered, and the eerie feeling grew.

"Be on guard and keep your eyes peeled." Anakin tells his young padawan. They walk down a long hallway and look in each room. Pretty soon a horrible smell assaults their senses.

"Skyguy, what is that smell?" Ahsoka asks.

"That is the smell of a Huttlet, Snips." He answers. They follow the smell to a cell type room and find a small Hutt huddled against the wall.

"I think it's kind of cute!" Ahsoka exclaims.

"Well, since you think it's so cute, you can carry it." Anakin replies. They continue walking, trying to find the entrance. Ahsoka soon realized that the tiny Hutt was sick, and they needed to find an antidote before he died. They ran full bore back to the entrance and got into their ship. Anakin com called Kix, their clone medic, and asked him what antidote they needed. They ended up giving him a special fever reducer. Anakin plotted the course for Tatooine and they went on their way. They touched down on the sandy surface of Tatooine and brought the Huttlet off the ship to begin their trek to Jabba's Palace.

Suddenly, an army of Magnaguards appeared seemingly out of thin air. Anakin and Ahsoka assumed their fighting stances, Anakin with his D'jem So and Ahsoka with her Ataru.

While Anakin came out swinging, Ahsoka did her best to shelter the Huttlet, or "Stinky" as she preferred to call him, from the robots' ruthless charges.

Winded, the new duo drove off their attackers.

"That was intense." Ahsoka says as she backs up for a bit.

"What do we do if it's like this all the way there?" Ahsoka asked.

"I suggest we split up; you take R2 and our… guest… and I'll try and draw any future attacks. They'll expect me; they don't know anything about you," Anakin

muttered.

Ahsoka nodded, steeling herself to go solo. "What if they capture you and realize you don't have what they're after?"

"Let's cross that bridge when we come to it." Anakin replied, readying himself for anything.

Ahsoka ran as fast as the perpetually hot climate and sinking sand let her. She raced to Jabba's palace entrance and stopped short as the guards all pulled their weapons on her.

"Is that Rotta?" One guard barked.

"It is, come inside now." The other one barked at Ahsoka.

Ahsoka shivered for a moment as she observed the slaves and mercenaries surrounding Jabba the Hutt. "How could someone live like this, surrounded by all this fear and instability?" she thought.

"Oh… Mighty Jabba," she spoke, attempting to mask her disgust. "I have returned your son!"

Jabba the Hutt growled in surprise and confusion.

At that moment, Count Dooku burst in with Anakin in tow.

"Oh, Mighty Jabba," Count Dooku schmoozed effortlessly. "I have captured Anakin Sywalker but your son…" Dooku bowed his head, "Was already killed."

Ahsoka couldn't help but snicker and hold up Rotta. Count Dooku's papery skin went white as a sheet. Minutes ago, he had blamed Rotta's death on Anakin Skywalker.

"Oooh, that's embarrassing," Ahsoka snarked at Dooku.

"I bet you wish the ground would swallow you up…" Anakin quipped.

"That could be arranged!" Ahsoka shot back, thinking of Jabba's Sarlacc.

Jabba wrung his vestigial hands. This day wasn't supposed to end like this. He wasn't supposed to want to execute a high-ranking Separatist official. He listened to the events unfold while contemplating his life choices.

"He's not as useful to you as you think, Oh Mighty Jabba. Side with the Republic, away from the treachery of the likes of Dooku," Anakin implored.

Jabba grumbled, his way of thinking out loud. Dooku's eyes widened.

"You can't do this!" Dooku barked, drawing his lightsabers and flicking them on.

"Yes he can, Dooku. Have fun with the Sarlacc." Anakin said, defending someone he never thought he could forgive.

Anakin and Ahsoka watched as Count Dooku fell into the pit of the Sarlacc.

"Strange feeling, cheering for one of Jabba's executions," he trailed off.

Ahsoka turned to him with a sympathetic look. She knew there was more to Anakin's hatred of Tatooine than sand. She assured herself she would find out eventually.

Then they returned to their ship.
