Hello everyone!

Whether you're new or old, I have some exciting news! I'm going to (finally) continue with "Love is Free, Not Bought".

After the long hiatus, I feel awful for making everyone wait. Idk what happened but it's been years now, and I'm no longer that shitty, teenage dirtbag. Now I'm just an adult menace to society lol.

I'm updating now because I started writing a new fic recently and I noticed quite a few people have also been looking at this story the past few days. I've been meaning to get back to it, but you know…life gets in the way, depression, work, school, my body constantly telling me how much it hates me because now I have extremely sensitive skin and severe allergies, so that was a time.

I know I read a lot of comments about how you guys loved it, but honestly…I was a shit writer when I was 15. So I will be rewriting and editing it. It'll basically be me purging my writing and rewriting it based on it but much better. Also, the overall story will be better. I'm not changing it much, I'm more so adding to it to give it more background and making it a more interesting read, otherwise, I plan on keeping the same plot. I'm going to leave a brief revision down below from the first chapter because I think it said somewhere in the rules (not that I care (because menace) but you guys deserve it) that you can't have just an author note as a chapter or something. Oh well.

Anyway, I'm so sorry that I just unloaded all of that onto you, but as an apology, please read this. I'll post it as a chapter eventually, but it goes into more depth about Annabeth's shitty backstory and it's gonna make the entire story a lot better. I promise.

Guys, I started going through the chapters and the stuff I wrote for the fourth chapter that I NEVER POSTED and I literally cringed at it. How was this ever good? Lol. My 15-year-old brain obviously did not understand the importance of building relationships and love in the slightest.

Also, that was before I received real trauma, so I think I'll be able to write it better now lol love my life *cries*

Anyway, here it is!

~START~

Annabeth felt eyes on her as soon as she started walking up to the school.

She kept walking, trying to calm her nerves, and took a deep breath. Her stomach churned uncomfortably and the saliva in her mouth became thick as if she was about to vomit up the lack of food she had for breakfast that morning.

She knew it wouldn't be easy coming back to school, not after what happened during the summer, but she didn't realize just how many people would already be avoiding and gossiping about her and on the first day no less. But that was okay.

Annabeth didn't need anyone.

She didn't even need her father, after all. If anyone would be able to survive ostracization in the hellhole they called high school, Annabeth could. She's survived worse. What could a bunch of idiot high school kids do that could shake Annabeth worse than what she'd already been through?

~ (Because I'm too lazy to connect them rn) ~

"Oh, um…sorry." Annabeth hurriedly started picking up her books. She didn't even look up at the person. She wasn't sure if it was an accident or if she was directly targeted, but she didn't care. She just didn't want any trouble.

"No, I'm sorry. Ugh, I was in a rush, I'm so sorry."

As she continued picking up her books, a hand connected with hers before they sheepishly pulled away. Annabeth found herself looking up to meet the boy's eyes.

He had messy, jet black hair and sea green eyes that made Annabeth want to stare into them forever. He was tall, probably somewhere around six feet, with a lean body. His skin was tanned and freckled.

He was extremely handsome and Annabeth could feel her heart rate increase in a matter of seconds. She broke their eye contact, hiding her blush with her curly blonde hair. She went back to pick up her books only to realize that while she was busy checking out this beautiful stranger, he had picked up the rest of her books. He piled the books neatly and dusted them off before holding them out to her. A crooked yet perfect smile graced his features.

Annabeth had to do everything she could to not embarrass herself in front of this angel of a man. So she closed her eyes and took a deep breath.

"T-thank you…um…"

"Percy! Percy Jackson."

"Thank you, Percy."

"And you are?" The boy asked. His smile was becoming intoxicating, so much so that Annabeth actually felt safe. She went to answer before the voice in her head reared its ugly head.

"Why would a guy like him ever want to talk to a worthless piece of shit like you? It'll be only a matter of time before he hears the rumors and treats you like everyone else."

Annabeth felt like she had been stabbed in the heart. All the confidence she had earlier that morning vanished completely. Percy's green eyes felt like piercing daggers that looked into her soul. She stood abruptly.

"It's better if you don't know. Thank you again." Then she rushed past him, accidentally brushing shoulders with him as she speed-walked to her first-hour classroom.

~FINISH~

ANYWAY, that's what I'm going for, so you can expect my writing to be more like that as I rewrite this story. Once again, I want to say that I won't be changing my vision of the story, but cleaning up and making it better writing wise. Also, no back and forth and rewriting events from different POVs because I apparently didn't like 3rd person as a young little shit but felt that seeing both sides was important.

AND ONCE AGAIN, I'M SO SORRY FOR THE HIATUS AND I PLAN TO BE BACK WITH THE REWRITTEN FIRST CHAPTER WITHIN THE NEXT TWO WEEKS OR SO! PLEASE LET ME KNOW YOUR THOUGHTS AND LEAVE A REVIEW IF YOU'RE EXCITED!
