Chapter 6: A Cursed Past
Morning*-* Forest (First day)
A broken village poverty, hunger, and fear. Run rampant of what remains of the Village Hidden in the Mist. One man was responsible for this Gatou a man who doesn't value human life unless it benefits his monopoly. Those who step out of line know what awaits them...just like their hero... However, there's a glimmer of hope
"Ok we will now start the training." began Kakashi who was currently in crutches with Sakura, Sasuke, and Naruto listening to what he was about to say.
"Hell yeah!!" shouted Naruto excited to know what new type of move they will learn
"Ok..Before that.. I want to talk to you about the shinobi ability, Chakra." continued Kakashi. Naruto looked puzzled what this meant
"Uhh...What's Charka?" asked a dumbfounded Naruto "It sound familiar..."
"Really Naruto?! That's like one of the major things that you should as a ninja!" responded Sakura actually surprised
"Well...I sort slept during the hard lessons.." admitted Naruto remembering that one time Iruka threw him a book when he was dozing off
"...This is bad..." worried Kakashi "Fine!! Sakura
please explain to Naruto."
"Listen Naruto!! I'm going to explain it simply. So please try to remember this!!" began Sakura " Simply put, Chakra is the energy a shinobi needs when performing a Jutsu. That energy has two parts. The body energy that is in each of the billions of your cells. And the spiritual energy gained through training and other experience. These two parts are combined. So by bringing out and releasing Chakra, you can use a jutsu. This is done through the process of performing a seal with the hands."
"Exactly." nodded Kakashi "Iruka sensei had some good students."
"I see...I dont get it." observed Naruto. Kakashi and Sakura just sighed in disbelief
"Sigh ok Naruto let me put in words you will understand it. Think of body energy like the cup that holds ramen. The spirit energy are the ingredients that are in the cup which is the ramen. And if you add them together it's cup ramen. That's basically how Chakra works." explained Sakura which cause Naruto to start drooling
"Oh!! I get it now!! But isn't that something you learn with your body?" asked Naruto
"Naruto is right. We can already use jutsu." agreed Sasuke.
"Nope!! You guys are not using Chakra properly." answered Kakashi
"How?!!" shouted a confused Naruto
"Well, listen...As Sakura said earlier, to release Chakra means... to bring out physical and spiritual energy and mix them together within your body. And based on what jutsu you use, the type and amount of Chakra that is released will be different. You guys are not using Chakra effectively yet. Even if you are able to release a high amount of Chakra..unless you control it properly..the jutsu will be weakened or not work at all. And by wasting energy, you won't be able to fight as long. These kinds of weaknesses will appear." explained Kakashi
"So... What should we do?" asked Naruto scratching his head
"Learn how to control it. Through very tough training." answered Kakashi. Sasuke, Sakura and Naruto sweated a little at how tough this training would be. Was it surviving Kakashi again? No one thousand push ups?
"What are we going to do...?" asked a worried Sakura knowing how brutal Kakashi could be
"hmm..? Tree Climbing!!" decided Kakashi.
"Tree climbing?!" responded Sakura, Sasuke, and Naruto at the same time confused
"Yeah.." nodded Kakashi as his Genin just stared at him confused
"Sounds boring.." thought a dissapointed Naruto thinking it was going to be an ultra secret training that only ninjas could do
"What kind of training is that?" uttered an also dissapointed Sakura
"Well, listen until the end." continued Kakashi knowing full well they are underestimating what this training means" This isn't normal tree climbing. You'll climb without using your hands."
"I've never heard a training like this.." listened Sasuke actually surprised
"Ok this actually sounds fun!!!" rejoiced Naruto in his mind
"...How?" wondered Sakura at how this was possible
"Well...Watch." began Kakashi putting his hands together to make a hand seal. He then began to walk to the nearest tree with his crutches...He was climbing with his feet on the tree as if he was attached to the tree itself. The Genin could look in disbelief as Kakashi kept walking more upward to the tree
"He's climbing.." awed Naruto with his mouth opened at this
"Vertically.. With just his legs.." took in Sakura as Kakashi stopped underneath a big branch
"You understand now? Gather your Chakra in the bottom of your feet and climb up a tree. This is something you can do once you can use Chakra well." instructed Kakashi
"Wait a minute!! How is learning how to climb a tree going to make us stronger?!!" asked Sakura looking up at Kakashi
"Here's the main part. Listen closely. The purpose of this training is...First to teach you how to control Chakra. To bring out the proper amount to the proper area. As I said earlier, this is the most important aspect when using jutsu. This can be difficult for even a skilled ninja. The amount of Chakra needed to climb a tree is small, but it must be exact. And it is said that the bottom of the foot is the most difficult area to gather Chakra. So basically..If you can learn this control, you should be able to master any jutsu." explained Kakashi seeing the excitement growing in Naruto's face. "The second thing is for you to develop the stamina needed to control Chakra properly. Depending on the jutsu, controlling your Chakra properly..can be very difficult. And a ninja will usually be gathering his Chakra..during battle while constantly moving. Those types of situations make controlling Chakra even more difficult. That's why, from this tree climbing, you must gain the stamina needed for this proper control. Well... Me talking all day isn't going to accomplish anything...This is something you'll have to learn with your bodies." finished Kakashi reaching for his pocket where he pulled three Kunai and threw them right in front of Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura. "Use those Kunais to mark how high you make it up the tree. Then use that mark as your goal and try to surpass it. You guys won't be good enough to just walk up the tree at first. So get some momentum and try running up the tree. Got it?"
"Yeah!! I will live up to your expectations Kakashi sensei!! I will finish this before breakfast!!" stated Naruto stretching his arms then his legs.
"Why don't you stop talking.. Pick a tree and hurry up and try to climb it." sighed Kakashi knowing full well how it was going to end for Naruto. Naruto, Sakura, and Sasuke picked up the Kunai from the floor. They began to make a handseal while holding the Kunai together
"Ok, first I gather Chakra in my feet." prepared Naruto. Then he began running to a tree he put his feet on the it.
Thump!
"Ouch!!!" let out Naruto as he fell down and landed on the back side of his head. Sasuke was running up the tree until
Crack
He made a dent in the tree with his foot. He was then falling down but, before he did he marked where he made. Sasuke did a flip so he could land properly. "I can't believe.. it would be this hard. Too much Chakra and the wood cracks. But too weak and you don't stick at all." realized Sasuke the moment he landed on the floor on his feet
"Well... That's about the difference between those two." expected Kakashi looking at Sasuke and Naruto who had his hands on his head rolling around in pain.
"This is pretty easy!!" exclaimed Sakura at the very top of the tree smiling sticking her tounge. She had stuck the Kunai on the tree.
"Sakura-chan!!" yelled Naruto barely getting up on his feet with a noticeable bump on his head.
"It looks like the best at controlling Chakra right now is...Sakura." spoke Kakashi looking directly at Sakura. Sasuke got on his knees exhausted from putting too much chakra on his feet
"Wow!!! You're great Sakura!!!" complimented Naruto through the pain at Sakura's abilities though a feint feeling of jealousy hit him" Just you wait!!! You won't be the only that can climb that high!!!"
"You know I don't mind the compliments. But, Sasuke must be angry..." looked down Sakura noticing the exhausted Sasuke
"Wow not only does she know a lot about Chakra. But her control and stamina are quite good. As of now.. Sakura is the closest to Hokage.. Unlike a certain someone... I guess the Uchiha clan isn't worth much either." commented Kakashi catching the attention of both Naruto and Sasuke on purpose
"Shut up, Sensei!!!" shouted Sakura pointing directly at Kakashi "Sasuke is going to think that I made him look weak!!" worried Sakura. Naruto and Sasuke turned to look at each other knowing full well this was a challenge between the both of them
"Of course, Naruto and Sasuke have an incomparably greater amount of Chakra within them. If this training goes well, they could be powerful assests for the upcoming battle." analyzed Kakashi focusing his attention more on Naruto "Especially Naruto he could learn more about utilizing that power of his.."
"Ok!! First I'm going to catch Sasuke!!! I'm going to do it!! Then I will show Inari there's still hope here!!" prepared Naruto feeling more determined to beat Sasuke. In the far distance there was a small boy peeking at their training. It was Inari as he just decided to walk back
"Pfft... Idiots they didn't get my warning...They will just end up dead.." looked back Inari as a flashing image of the x marked chin man smilling at him. Causing Inari clench his fist.
Noon*-*???(First day)
The Hunter-nin without his mask was sitting down watching over a recovering Zabuza that was on the bed. Then the door to the room opened as three people walked in. The Hunter-nin looked at who entered knowing who it was. Gatou and his Samurai bodyguards Zouri and Waraji." So even you have been defeated. It looks like the Mist country ninjas aren't worth shit." spat Gatou beginning to walk to Zabuzas bed "You even got your ass handed by that one brat I warned you about. A devil losing to a brat! Ha, don't make me laugh!" continued mocking Gatou as both Zouri, and Waraji prepared to take out their Katanas.
"An attack?" looked the Hunter-nin as Gatou put his hand stopping both of his bodyguard.
"Hold on for a second.." ordered Gatou beginning to approach Zabuza aiming his left hand for Zabuza's throat "Hey there's no need to stay silent..How about.." stopped Gatou as the Hunter-nin grabbed his hand..
"Don't touch Zabuza-san with your dirty hands."snapped the Hunter-nin glaring directly at Gatou.
Crack
"Gu!! You..!!" let out Gatou from the grip from the Hunter-nin that ended up breaking Gatous arm. That's when both of Gatou's bodyguards took out their Katanas from their scabbard preparing to cut the Hunter-nin but... they realised that their blades were now close to their necks
"No way...He moved in an instant" realized Waraji in disbelief seeing the Hunter-nin holding both of their katanas
"You shouldn't do that.. I'm pissed off right now." warned the Hunter-nin with a voice so cold that matched his glare
"A monster?" shook Zouri in fear with Gatou sweating in fear holding his broken arm.
"One more time!!! If you fail one more time..you won't be welcome here anymore. Remember that!!!" stated Gatou walking out of the room with both of his body guards slamming the door as they left.
"Haku..You didn't have to.." spoke Zabuza holding a kunai underneath his blanket
"I know..But it's too early to kill Gatou.. If we cause a commotion here, they will be after us again. We must be patient." explained Haku smiled with his eyes closed
"Yeah..You're right..." agreed Zabuza looking back at Haku
Sunset*-*Forest(First day)
Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura were still training on tree climbing. Well for Naruto and Sasuke they were still struggling to get the hang of this.
"Ouch!!! AHH!!" groaned a bruised Naruto in pain feeling multiple bumps on his head anymore of this and he his head would break. Meanwhile Sasuke was exhuasted and bruised on the floor on his knees trying to catch his breath. Sakura on the other hand wasn't as bruised as everyone else but exhausted nonetheless.
"I'm worn out..What stamina those 2 have.." looked on Sakura laying by the tree turning her head to see Naruto catching his breath"It's weird I honestly thought Naruto would be the one that would do better than us... But Naruto isn't improving at all.. He's probably about to give up and complain."
"Shit!!" cursed Naruto walking away from the tree holding his kunai
"Called it...He's probably going to take a break...Huh?" guessed Sakura when she realized that Naruto was approaching her
"Umm..Sakura-chan could you give me some tips?!" requested Naruto as he crouched down right infront of Sakura
"Really? You are asking me for help?" said Sakura in disbelief. From the far distance Kakashi on his crutches was heading over there to say that it was dinner time.
"He's going to get stronger and stronger. But just how strong? Because Naruto, your Chakra potential is most likely above Sasuke.. And... Even above my own... I'm really looking forward to this.." imagined Kakashi at how powerful Naruto's power will excel
Evening*-*Tazuna home(First Day)
Team 7 arrives back to Tazuna's home with Tsunami looking very happy for some reason as she opened the door slide
"Oh welcome back from your!" greeted Tsunami seeing Team 7 arrive "Oh I prepared a feast for all of you!"
"Umm if you don't mind me asking why are you so happy?" asked Sakura confused to what could've caused her to be so happy.
"Oh I will explain on the table! First all of you need to get some food on you!" replied Tsunami helping Kakashi get inside the house.
"Ok..." muttered Sakura baffled at what had happened. She the turned to look at Sasuke and Naruto who were exhuasted and hungry" Ok maybe I should wait.."
Dinner*
Tazuna had arrived from construction, Inari was done with his homework and Tsunami was still in a great mood as she set the dishes on the table. Naruto and Sasuke didn't hesitate to wait for the others to dig in they began to scoop every single grain of rice from their bowl
"Tsunami-chan I rarely see you so happy what caused this?" asked Tazuna as Tsunami put the food on the table
"Oh I'm just so happy that one of you has the time to help me clean the house! The house is in prestine condition!" revealed Tsunami smilling at Team 7. Suddenly Naruto choked on his Miso soup. Everyone turned to look at Naruto now suspecting it to be him
"Cough!!, Cough!!" coughed Naruto the moment he heard this "Oh...Yeah I forgot that I left Hinata on my backpack here...I guess she must've already gotten used to the location." guessed Naruto
"So it was you Naruto!!" spoke Sakura in disbelief she didn't take Naruto as the one to clean in his off time
"Huh? What that's not possible this fool was with me the whole time!" remembered Sasuke feeling confused
"Hmm...Don't you think you are overthinking Ma'am?" wondered Kakashi knowing full well that Naruto wasn't here at all. "I mean he could've when I was reading my Icha Icha Paradise..Then again." looked back Kakashi as he rubbed the side of his mouth remembering the slap he got from Tsunami. When she caught him reading Icha Icha Paradise.
"Oh no, no! I'm pretty sure the house wasn't cleaned when I was gone! Even Inari's bedroom was cleaned while I was gone!" continued Tsunami noticing Inari cringing as she began to clean some dishes that were left from lunch
"Either way whoever it was thank you!" thanked Tazuna as he saw Sakura stand up to look around the room impressed and then stopping by that photo...
"Hey, why do you have a torn picture on the wall?" asked Sakura "Was it already like this? It seems like someone purposely removed the person that was in the picture." deduced Sakura turning to see Tazuna's, and Tsunami's smile fade away. Inari's just looked down on his food
"It's my husband.." answered Tsunami in a somber tone
"And..The man called the hero of the city..." went on Tazuna also in a gloomy tone. Inari stood up from the table not touching his meal walking away from the table.
"Inari, where are you going?!" asked Tsunami worried as she looked at Inari closing the doorslide behind him. "Inari!!" called Tsunami Everyone looked at him leaving. Most importantly Naruto noticed one last thing before he left his eyes holding back tears from loss... "Father!! I have told you not to talk about that man in front of Inari!!"
"What's wrong with Inari-kun?" wondered Sakura believing that it was her fault for this
"There seems to be some kind of explanation." added Kakashi as the room was no oddly silent until...
"Old man.. He lost someone important to him didn't he..?" asked Naruto. Everyone turned to look at Naruto who looked down gloomly at his finished bowl of rice.
"You got it...Inari had a father not related by blood. They were very close like a real father and son... Inari would laugh a lot back then..." confessed Tazuna now everyone listening to him then seeing him beginning to shake. Tears are what could be seen on Tazuna's eyes" But...But Inari changed..since the incident with his father.. The word "courage" has been stolen from the people of this island.. And from Inari... Ever since
that day...Because of that incident..."
"That incident? Are you referring to how his father passed..?" put together Kakashi looking at Tazuna taking his glasses to wipe his tears away
"Yeah..Before I get to that I first..have to tell you about the man who was called the hero of this city." continued Tazuna putting his glasses back on
"Hero.." uttered Naruto knowing how valuable this man must mean to Inari
A/N: I'm sorry if this is a bad move on my part but Inari's story doesn't change. If you want you could read chapter 20...Sorry if you wanted me to write this
"From that day Inari changed... As did Tsunami And the whole city..." finished Tazuna Team 7 was speechless at this. Naruto looked down at his food that was now cold and wolfed it down.
"Naruto!! What are you doing!?" shouted Sakura confused at how Naruto could do such a disrespectful thing after a story from the heart.
"I'm-I'm going back to training!! answered Naruto as he put the bowl down."Thanks for the food!" thanked Naruto standing up then falling down on the floor
"If you're thinking of training, take the day off. You've released too much Chakra anymore and you could die." explained Kakashi seeing Naruto struggling to keep on walking as he stood back up again and again.
"I'm going to prove it.." spoke Naruto standing up one more time..As everyone looked at him confused at what he was getting at "I'm going to prove to Inari that there is still hope!! Heros do exist!!" stated Naruto as he closed tbe doorslide and presumably went to the forest. Unknown to everyone Inari had been listening the whole time..
"What an Idiot...He just doesn't get that it's pointless.." thought Inari as he got another image of Kaiza showing his arms" Ugh!! That blond idiot pisses me off!!"
Midnight*-* Forest(Second day)
Naruto was tired he made a little more progress thanks to the tip that Sakura gave him if he remembered correctly it was
Yesterday in the afternoon*
"Listen, Chakra uses spiritual energy so you can't get too excited. To gather Chakra to your feet you have to relax and focus on the tree." Said Sakura. Naruto looked confused yet again not getting what she meant "Ok...Let's go by ramen terms again. Think of spiritual energy as mentioned before as the ramen if you get excited and put too much on the cup the ingredients will fall out. So think of your feet like Ramen cups and the spiritual energy as the ingredients."
Present*
"Hmm ok I think I get it let me try that again." prepared Naruto as he began to concentrate not letting anything get on his mind right. Slowly pouring chakra into his feet. Then he started slowly walking up the tree he didn't think of anything just kept going until he opened his eyes.. He actually made it to the top "ALRIGHT!!!" shouted Naruto soon he got disconnected from the tree and fell down. However he was stopped from hitting the floor seeing to familiar blue hands, coming out of his waist bag, that stopped his fall.
"Oh thank you Hinata!! I'm never leaving you again whenever I train!!" thanked Naruto. Remembering that he grabbed his old red scarf before he left to train again. He then braced for Hinata to go back. Alright I got the hang of it now it's just how long I can do this while running...Actually..I wanna try this." stopped Naruto as he opened his waist bag to pull out his red scarf and wrap it around his right arm.
"Huh?!!" Why don't I feel tired anymore!?" realized Naruto no longer feeling exhuasted from the lack of chakra. He then looked at the tree that right in front of him."Hmm I wonder what would happen if I do this." imagined Naruto as he closed his eyes once again and focused his Chakra on his feet he the moment his feet touched the wood in front of him
Crack!!
Naruto had just accidentally snapped the tree in half. His eyes and mouth were wide open stunned as the tree fell down. "...Ok I'm for sure not doing this when using the scarf." muttered Naruto to himself as he then remembered one last thing
"Wait what about the *Henge*? What would change?...hngh goodbye balls I'll miss you..." prepared Naruto transforming into Hinata feeling odd once again as her field of vision expanded once again. However this wasn't the goal the goal was to check what would happen in the tree climbing. Naruto put her feet on the and it didn't break the tree...In fact she didn't struggle to climb up the tree she started to run up the tree however she tried her best to stay focused still. "How am I doing better as Hinata but, not as myself?!" asked Naruto to herself as she ran back down "I gotta ask Kakashi about this. He must have some sort of have an answer to this.. right now I gotta get used to this feeling... Before I deal with the pain..."
Morning*-*Tazuna's home(Second day)
Sasuke was currently on the table feeling sore from his legs getting ready to have breakfast before he trains some more it wasn't like the dope was going to beat him...then again he went to train at night...
"Goodmorning." yawned Kakashi coming into the room by the doorslide in his crutches still. Looking around to see that everyone wasn't here besides Sasuke and Tsunami. "Did Tazuna already head off with Sakura to continue building the bridge?"
"Yeah father left a while ago with the pink haired girl. Inari went with them so that they could take him to school safely." answered Tsunami as she finished putting the Onigiris in a bento box "I had already prepared a bento for them earlier in the morning however, I still haven't seen the blond one arrive for breakfast..."
"Oh don't worry about him he may not look like it but he's still a ninja." reassured Kakashi knowing full well Naruto wouldn't die so easily. Tsunami just turned to look at him smilling with her eyes closed the right one was twitching "...Oh shit..."
"You know Kakashi...I don't care what he is. He's still a growing young boy, yet his growth looks stunted... It wouldn't be right if he didn't eat wouldn't it?" asked Tsunami facing Kakashi who was shaking in his crutches knowing full well she was upset. Sasuke was sweating nervously even though he knew nothing would happen to him yet, her aura was terrifyingly power.
"N-No Ma'am!" stammered Kakashi seeing her beginning to walk to him of course he contemplated leaving away but, he was still recovering
"Well...unless one of you takes him his meal none of you will get to eat... Capiche?" stated Tsunami pointing a bento box at the counter. Sasuke and Kakashi both gulped in fear now hungry and afraid
"Ma'am is it o-ok if I could get a bento box to go as well?" stuttered Sasuke standing from the table in fear lightly bowing down to Tsunami
"Oh don't worry I prepared one for you earlier. It's right by the counter." pointed Tsunami who turned to look at Sasuke with her eyes now opened yet, she was still smilling. Sasuke wasn't as terrified as before but, he didn't hesitate to get both the bentos boxed in a flash.
"So...do I wait for Sasuke to come back Ma'am?" asked Kakashi sheepishly standing still in his ctutches... Tsunami just returned to the counter to prepare Kakashi breakfast.."You know she rivals Kushina in the amount of fear they produce..." looked back Kakashi at a Red Haired woman hair levitating out of rage
Morning*-* Forest(Second day)
Sore, pain and Headaches. Is what Naruto could feel as he woke up on the grass. His legs felt as they were strapped to 50 pounds of weight that hurt him everytime he moved a little with them. His head felt as if someone had hit him with a hammer and this was the aftermath. He heard footsteps approaching but he was to tired to even get up he turned his head to see...Sasuke carrying two bento boxes.
"Hey moron! I brought you breakfast from Ma- Tsunami made for us." stumbled Sasuke in his words remembering Tsunami presence lingering some reason. "Either way get up we don't have time to slack off."
"Umm Sasuke I don't think this is the right place to eat..." spoke Naruto trying to get up through the pain seeing Sasuke sitting down close by a tree as he had layed a bento close to Naruto and the other in his knees
"And why's that idiot?" asked Sasuke beginning to open the bento box revealing his favorite Onigiri
"Uhh... No reason at all..." responded Naruto as he set down and opened the bento box. He didn't feel nauseous thankfully so, he began to dig in the bento box." So Sasuke wanna know how much I progress I made?"
"You making progress? Let me guess you catched up to me?" sassed Sasuke. Naruto didn't respond instead he looked up at the tree that was to Sasuke's right side
"...I mean I did reach the top but, not in the way Kakashi wanted.." answered Naruto with mouth full. Beginning to lifting his finger pointing at the tree that Sasuke was close by
"Really?! No you have to be joking there's no way you made that much progress in 1 day!" ranted Sasuke turning to look at the tree seeing that a Kunai stuck up there. Seeing he left his jaw wide open "One Night! And he surpassed me! No this must be some prank of his!"
"Of course the great Sasuke could ask me for tips.. If he begs?" snickered Naruto even though it hurt his head a little then he saw Sasuke grit his teeth in rage staring at the tree." I'm just messing with you Sasuke. I don't think even I can mess around knowing how cruel this Gatou guy is.."
"Are you really Naruto? You are still messing with me aren't you?" asked Sasuke genuinely concerned if Naruto hurt himself too badly while training. Naruto's left eye just twitch hearing this he then shook his head in a no motion
"Yes it's still me you douche!! OWW!!" shouted Naruto instantly regretting it as he put his hands on his head
"Sigh ok even if it's still you why? You never offer me help unless it's in combat." wondered Sasuke since this the first time the Moron gives any help at all
"Weren't you listening to me Gatou is the one who stole this village Hero! If we become strong then we can give Inari and this village hope again!" answered Naruto staring at Sasuke with determined eyes. Sasuke just raised an eyebrow listening to Naruto's plan "I mean I could get stronger by myself..."
"...Fine I'll join you in this only because it will help me get stronger. You can go play hero all you want." replied Sasuke not seeing any downsides to this "I mean we stayed here to protect Tazuna until he finishes to bridge. Not to mention we will fight Zabuza again.."
"Alright ok! I'll tell you later after we finish eating." promised Naruto trying to finish the bento as fast as he could.Then looking at Sasuke eating his Onigiri"You know I wanted to tell him that he sat on my puke...I guess he will find out later...I think?"
Noon*-*Bridge (Second day)
"Yawn..." Yawned Sakura who sitting on the floor close by the rail stretching her arms. She had been tasked on guarding Tazuna from any sudden attacks from Gatou. Tazuna was currently lifting a plank with his left shoulder when he quickly glanced at a bored Sakura
"I'm sorry for making you stay." apologized Tazuna. Sakura quickly waved her arm in a it's no problem
"It's OK Tazuna-san! It's not like there's not much to do over there.And besides this is still a mission." reassured Sakura

"Yeah Naruto is stronger than me and probably Sasuke. But, right now I'm the one who has finished training." answered Sakura giving a thumbs up to Tazuna. Tazuna just nodded his head and put the plank on the floor.
"Hey...Tazuna!!" shouted an old man that was a far a way from Tazuna.
"Hn? What is it Giichi?" asked Tazuna turning to look at Gichi an old man that was in his 60s
"I've need to tell you something that happened recently... Gatou has started to go after our families..." revealed Giichi shaking in fear even speaking Gatou's name out loud. Sakura and Tazuna where shocked at hearing this
"Damn it...There's no way that bastard would go that low.."worried Tazuna hearing these news Gichi looked in the ground
"I'm not lying.. The young fellow Akira who had quit a few weeks ago. Apparently his wife Cho had her throat slashed in their home last Friday... She was only 4 months pregnant. I fear what has happened to Akira. Not only that... Itsuki our engineer was found dead on the streets, It's rumored that he was poisoned while shopping with his grandson... It was last Saturday." revealed Giichi clenching his fist shaking. Sakura put her hands in front of her mouth hearing this news. Tazuna just gritted his teeth
"Ok Giichi you can go... Take care friend thanks for your hard work." thanked Tazuna lightly bowing to Giichi
"I really want to help you but, I fear for what will happen to my family...Tazuna you should stop working on the bridge. I say this because I care for you my friend. Gatou will most likely target me or you next.." pleaded Giichi
"I'm sorry Giichi you know I can't do that. I'm already a dead man walking there's no point in me quitting. This is bridge is our final hope Giichi..." responded Tazuna seeing Giichi nod his head
"Tazuna don't die.." uttered Giichi beginning to pack his things. Sakura looked at Tazuna worried at what might now happen
"Girl can you escort me to get some groceries for Tsunami-chan..." requested Tazuna taking off his hard hat preparing to head off to the city. Sakura just nodded her head not willing to refuse this request
Afternoon*
Tazuna and Sakura were walking around the village heading to the market. Sakura looked around the village seeing nothing but, poverty in this village seen people begging for money. Malnourished children looking through trash to find any scraps of food to last another day. Dead dogs and cats on the side rotting on the alley with flys swarming around them. "This is the damage that Gatou has done... How horrible..." looked Sakura continuing to walk alongside Tazuna making sure no one gets to close to Tazuna.
"Wait!! Thief!!" shouted a man trying to catch a child running through the people who didn't bother helping the man. Sakura wanted to help but she couldn't. She knew that if she left Tazuna he would most likely get assassinated.
"Here we are." said Tazuna stopping by a small market with a broken sign saying opened. Tazuna looked by his side seeing Sakura looking at a homeless child with rags for clothes. Tazuna entered through the door with Sakura following behind him.
"Welcome." muttered the owner of the store. The had little to no produce on it yet, Tazuna managed to pick out some good produce from shelves.
"It's a miracle how Tsunami is able to make such tasty food." realized Sakura looking at the other remaining produce that looked rotten. Tazuna signaled Sakura to follow him. Sakura followed Tazuna out of the store following him to head back to his home. That's when a small hand tugged Sakura's outfit. A small girl holding her hands out hoping for some money or food. She didn't hesitate to give some candies that she had saved up for later to the begging girl. The begging girls eyes sparkled at seeing something so little yet so valuable to her. Sakura had never seen someone so excited for sweets that were not worth much at the Hidden Leaf Village. The girl soon went off hopping around celebrating her new found treat.
"You know this is sadly common..Children are abandoned by their parents due to a lack of food.
Food is hard to come by since Gatou cut off any outside food company other than his own imports. He keeps us hungry so we don't have the will to fight back. Children and adults have lost hope due to fear and hunger. The bridge is our last hope the village has left. We need something that was just as powerful as Kaiza..." explained Tazuna walking in front of Sakura
"Sasuke...Naruto we can't fail this mission." looked back Sakura at the conditions that many people were living on
Evening*-*Tazuna's home(Second Day)
Everyone other than Sasuke and Naruto ; were at the table wating for Tsunami to be done with dinner. "So Kakashi sensei how's your recovery going?" asked Tazuna who was drinking green tea
"It's going a little well I'm finally able to walk for a while without using the crutches. By tomorrow I should be able to walk normally." answered Kakashi looking at his green tea
"Oh yeah... speaking of progress how far do you think Sasuke and Naruto have gotten?" wondered Sakura remembering that they couldn't get halfway up the tree
"Hmm.. I honestly think they haven't caught up to you but, I'm sure they are doing fine." guessed Kakashi taking a sip from his green tea
"Well I'm sure those two will be pretty hungry! When they come back from their training!" added Tsunami who was finished cooking dinner.
"You called for us?" spoke Sasuke entering with Naruto ,both of their clothes being bruised just like them, leaning on his shoulder looking exhausted from training.
"Hehehe... We finished for today!" gasped Naruto for air. As Sasuke dropped him off by the table where Naruto took a sit on the chair and put his head down on the table.
"You two must've really trained hard today." commented Kakashi looking at Naruto's clothes and then at Sasuke who had this stain on his white shorts maybe it was sweat
"We didn't make it to the top but, we did managed to get more than half way." added Sasuke smirking as he looked at Naruto who gave him a thumbs up
"Oh really how did you do that?" asked a very curious Sakura
"Well I never thought I would say this in my life but, Naruto was able to give me some very useful information. That helped me surpass him in the training." revealed Sasuke catching Kakashi and Sakura off guard. Naruto on the otherhand had a vein pop out of his forehead
"Naruto giving advice in training... He must've given the advice I gave him and took the credit." doubted Sakura
"You really took advice from Naruto? That's rare knowing how you two interact with each other." responded Kakashi
"I honestly thought he was messing with me at first. But then I was able to progress better than I did yesterday." noted Sasuke remembering how he wasn't able to reach halfway on the tree
"Yeah that was after I *Henged*! Then you saw how far I was able to make it running on the tree!" reminded Naruto as he pointed at Sasuke
"How did the *Henge-No-jutsu* help you out?" wondered Kakashi waiting for the answer
"Well I'm going to keep it short. I found out that when I *Henged* last night. That I was able to climb easier but, the only problem was when I transformed back to normal I wasn't to climb like I was able when I was *Henged*." explained Naruto in the best way he could.
"Wait but how did this help Sasuke? Did he *Henge* as well like you?" asked Sakura curious of this actually helped them
"No it wasn't like that. It turns out that Naruto was able to discover by, some miracle, that when he was *Henged*. He was able to retain some sort of chakra memory of how much to add in his feet. Then it was a matter of him explaining in the best way he could to me. Finally the hardest part that we still are struggling is pouring the chakra on our feet without letting the flow go or adding to much." finished Sasuke with Kakashi and Sakura just listening actually impressed that Naruto was able to figure this out. Tazuna had no clue what they were talking about but, still payed attention. Tsunami was currently putting the plates in front of everyone. Inari was just listening gritting his teeth no one noticed this.
"So he learned that Females have better chakra control than Males do...Naruto I think I know how you are able to do this..." figured Kakashi as he looked at the scarf that wrapped around Naruto's left arm
"Well whatever it's all of you are talking about I'm sure we can all agree that this meal is worth celebrating." suggested Tazuna holding his chopsticks out preparing to dig in. Sasuke and Naruto's stomach began to rumble. Then they both didn't hesitate to start eating." You could at least thank Tsunami-chan for the food..."
"Itdakimasu!!" thanked both of the boys with their mouth stuffed witb rice.Then they both choked on their rice "*Cough* *Cough*
"You idiots!! This is what you both get for not saying thanks for your meal!" scolded Sakura
"Hahaha, it's alright Sakura!" assured Tsunami chuckling a little at the boys antics."Honestly it sure is fun having people here they sure help lighten up the mood!"
"Tsunami-chan is right! Nothing beats having a meal with people!"added Tazuna after he took a bite from the grilled fish
Few minutes later*
Everyone had enjoyed their meal from Tsunami. Naruto and Sasuke were stuffed beyond belief they were satisfied. Before anyone left the table to prepare for tomorrow. They were stopped by " Tomorrow I'm going to ask for one of you to escort me again." began Tazuna seeing that everyone was standing up
"Hey!! Hey!! Kakashi Sensei!! Can I go tomorrow!!" asked Naruto looking at Kakashi, with his eyes glowing with excitement
"Uh...You do remember that you have 5 days left to train right?" reminded Kakashi standing on his crutches
"He, I knew you were going to say that Kakashi sensei!" nodded Naruto "That just means I have to train more at night."
"Wow, kid you sure must really want to be a part of this don't." noted Tazuna as he saw Naruto nodding his head
"Sigh ok Naruto only for tomorrow." instructed Kakashi not wanting to put down Naruto's request
"Alright!!" exclaimed Naruto. Not noticing Inari just looking at him with puffy eyes" Old man I promised you that I would protect you!! I'm planning on keeping that promise!!"

"Shut up!!! Shouted Inari out of nowhere startling everyone, turning to look at him. Everyone was silent not knowing what to say to Inari who had described his distaste for Naruto...Naruto just walked to the door sliding it open as he looked outside

Inari was trying to say something back instead he began to cry even more. Naruto stepped outside then turning to look at Inari. Gritting his teeth looking disgusted in Inari "...I'm going back to training. If you want to keep crying go ahead. Just keep crying you coward!!"
"Wait Naruto!!" pleaded Sakura before Naruto left sliding the door close. The room was silent the only think that could be heard was Inari just sobbing. Inari was about to run out the room until

"...Kakashi do you think that Naruto is happy having Hinata on his side still?" worried Sakura "I can't imagine what that would be like..."

A feminine looking boy, with his long black hair loose while wearing his pink kimono, was picking up plants in a basket carrying different type of plants. He was looking for a certain plant on the forest. He found the plant and a blond boy laying fast asleep on the grass. The blond boy was sleeping while hugging what looked like to be a red scarf.

That I will be the next Hokage!!" Imagined Naruto as he got closer to the entrance where he saw three boys that were older than him by two years surrounding... "Are you really a Hyuga?! Then show us your Byakugan!" insisted a kid with a red cap looking down on Hinata

"Hey!! Leave Hinata alone!" shouted Naruto running toward them almost tripping on the snow. Hinata turned to see him almost surprised that he remembered her name
"What do you want you little snot?!" scoffed the red cap boy turning along with the others
"Why do you care about this freak?!" questioned the kid in the yellow sweater
" I want you to leave her alone!! Because she is my friend!! My name is Naruto Uzumaki and I will be the future Hokage!!" Stated Naruto with the three boys getting away from Hinata and now walking getting closer Naruto
"Really?! You are friends with this freak and you want to be Hokage?!! taunted the red cap boy leaning down to Naruto's height
"Hahaha, Yeah right like a little shrimp like you could even do that!" laughed the boy with the scatf
"Ok then bring it!!" insisted Naruto preparing getting into a poor fighting position. The three boys looked at him for a moment then laugh at him." I'm not joking I-" cut off Naruto as he was hit in the face by the kid with the red cap. Naruto fell down to the floor he was bleeding from the hit.
"Yeah,hahaha! I took down the wannabe Hokage down with one punch!" jeered the red cap boy walking towards a dazed Naruto to grab his red scarf from him " What an ugly red scarf! To believe that you could even dream of thinking of being a Hokage is a joke!!"
"What a total idiot!" agreed the blue scarf boy seeing the red cap boy throw the scarf on the floor and begin stepping on it. The other boys joined him and began to kick it
A few seconds later*
Naruto stopped being dazed and stood up "I'm not done yet!!" yelled Naruto looking around to see that the three boys had left already. The only person who was there was Hinata crying
"I-Im sniffle sorry Naruto that I got you sniffle hurt. You shouldn't hang around with sniffle a freak like me sniffle" cried Hinata feeling guilty holding Naruto's scarf that was damaged
"Hey don't cry Hinata!" reassured Naruto smiling while his nose was still bleeding a little. Hinata stopped crying a little to see Naruto's smile "I promised you last week that I would never leave you no matter what you were!
"But why didn't just leave me...?" croaked Hinata wondering why Naruto kept that promise
"Because we are friends Hinata!!" reminded Naruto to Hinata as she began to cry even more "Hinata come on don't be like that...You look a lot better when you are smiling!
"Huh?" let out Hinata who tried not to cry even more
"To be honest Hinata your eyes are the coolest eyes I have ever seen!! It's almost like those eyes were meant to fit with a smile!!" complimented Naruto pointing at Hinata's eyes as he was smilling with his foxy grin
"Do you really think that Naruto?" asked Hinata blushing a little no longer crying wiping her tears away with her hands
"Yep!! nodded Naruto then he looked at the fold red scarf "Hinata if you want you can keep that scarf!"
"Re-Really?" stuttered Hinata looking at the folded red scarf in her hands then back at Naruto surprised
"Of course think of it as a gift! It is a sign of our friendship!" mentioned Naruto then seeing Hinata smiling for the first time it looked like her smile made her lavender glow even more "Hehe, see Hinata you look better!!"
"U-um!!Um!!" stuttered Hinata once again now turning beet red trying to hide her face. With Naruto just looking at her now confused" Tha-Thank you Naruto!!
"No problem! Hmm...Wait!! I just remembered this is our first day in the Ninja Academy!! AHHH!!! We are going to be late!!" gasped Naruto forgetting something so important "C'mon Hinata we have to go!!"
"Wai-wait!" asked Hinata before Naruto grabbed her by the hand and began tugging her hand as he went running with her to the Ninja Academy.
"Hey!!Hey!! Hinata do you want to have a snowball fight?!Once we finish our first day?!" wondered Naruto turning to smile at Hinata with Hinata holding on to the red scarf preventing it from falling. She just nodded her head as they got closer to the building

Morning*-*Forest(Third Day)
"Huh?" You really kept your promises when you met her before the Ninja Academy." commented Haku looking at Naruto wondering why he kept that promise
"Of course I kept that promise! After all she was the first friend I ever had." answered Naruto nodding his head
"Pfft, hahaha."laughed Haku at Naruto who just blushed a little at this
"He-Hey! What's so funny?" wondered Naruto looking at Haku confused
"Oh nothing it's just a little funny how you didn't know her a lot about her! Yet you still helped her two times." responded Haku smiling at Naruto who just turned his head a little upset" Ok I won't laugh if it makes you feel better."
"You better not laugh again or I'm leaving." huffed Naruto folding his arms
"Ok!Ok! But you have to tell me were you actually gonna cry when that kid hit you ? Or did you just act tough to prove Hinata what you said when you met her for the first time? wondered Naruto waiting for Naruto to answer this question. Naruto stopped folding his arms and scratched his head looking at the grass
"You sure ask a lot of question for a lady I just met...Ok!! I almost did! That was the first time I had ever gotten hit! There are you happy?!" admitted Naruto looking up to see Haku struggling to hold her laughter "Hey!! You liar!!"
"I'm sorry!" Apologized Haku not trying to laugh as she spoke" Well honestly I think you were very brave for you to standing up, against kids that were older than you."
"I mean of course!! I just couldn't let them mock Hinata... My only regret was that I didn't get there sooner." responded Naruto seeing Haku looking at him proud of his actions
"Well Naruto I would love to hear more about your stories about you and Hinata. But I have to go...I'm sure she is happy to have a great friend on her side." praised Haku seeing Naruto grinning back at her
"Hey why don't you come back!! Tomorrow at the same time so, that I can tell you more stories about Hinata!!" recommended Naruto seeing Haku stand up with the basket on her hand beginning to walk away
"Sure I don't mind that...Oh I forgot to mention this but...I'm a boy." revealed Haku as he began to walk away leaving a dumbfounded Naruto with his mouth wide open.

A/N: Ok that last line I had to include as a joke. But on a serious note I'm sorry for not uploading the weekend I was already done but, I really had to make sure some lines didn't come off actually it's better if I write it to show you" YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT IT'S LIKE TO SUFFER!!!". Those type of lines to me feel like too overboard so I had change things a little. Hinata's past I had to make sure I didn't write myself on a wall. Oh yeah one thing that I hated to write Naruto in the Inari confrontation was making Naruto reveal his backstory there. For me that becomes the I had it worse so that means you shouldn't bitch about your life. That always rubbed me in the wrong way. So I instead made it where Naruto tells Inari how he was a coward for wanting to give up all of his hope(Kaiza) to forget the pain of loss. Here's a major thing that I changed was when Naruto went to train I was originally going to add a very depressing scene but I felt that the change would've been too fast when he meets Haku.
Persona 5 Alleycat: Choose this one since I felt it greatly captures a feeling of loneliness and tragedy. Also because this song plays in one of my favorite scenes in P5 when a character backstory.
Persona School Days: This song will be one of the few(Maybe) lyrics that actually kinda fit the story. First part of the lyrics is Naruto helping Hinata being more happy as herself 'If perhaps you feel I woke up with you, just smile'. Second Part is a little more depressing if you go look up the entire lyrics. But I'm going to simplify it for you to save you a google search. Hinata is happy being with Naruto. 'I walk into your world pleased being with you.' then when the singer signs in japanese it shows how she can't find the words being happy being with Naruto. Third part which is in pure Japanese now is what Hinata is to Naruto more than a friend almost like a hero. Which would turn into tragedy. 'The Endless Road
