A/N: So this is it! This is the end OMGG! There are three extra scenes already up - it says on them where they fit into the wider story! At some point I may write James and Hermione's wedding - I've got a plan for it, but no inspo currently to write it lol - if I do, it'll be added as an extra scene to this series.

Kids info in the notes at the bottom.

I have moved my focus to working on What the Water Returns (my Regmione fic) and Renew, Repeat, Replay (my Walking Dead fic), and I promise that Hidden in Plain Sight is not abandoned! I've just got so many ideas hahahaa!

Behind the scenes I am also co-writing a Bucky Barnes/Hermione Granger fanfic with my friend and we are so excited to get that done and out there (but it'll probably be a while hehe, cos we also both have lots of other ideas we're working on)! When it goes up it will ONLY BE ON AO3.

1st September 1991

Hermione closed her eyes and took in the familiar sounds and smells of the platform, letting the nostalgia draw her under for a long moment. This was the third time she'd stood on the platform for the first time, but for once this wasn't her first time. Hermione opened her eyes and surveyed their ever increasing family.

Beside her Lily smoothed Harry's unruly curls back into the bun he usually wore it in (ever since he'd seen his father wearing his own hair in such a way). She was in the middle of instructing him in things she'd undoubtedly said to him before, "–and say hello to Regulus for us, okay. Give him our love."

"Mum!" He whined, pulling away from the fussing to correct the bun into a much messier version of the same hairstyle. "I can't wish a Professor love! Even if he is my uncle." Sirius laughed and pulled his son into a hug, ruffling his hair until it was even messier.

"Are you trying to make your son look like he's mine instead?" James asked his best friend with a deep laugh, looking down at the pouting Harry.

"Nah, just trying to embarrass him in front of all his new school mates." Sirius grinned when Harry scowled up at him, and just shrugged.

"You'd think you'd want to build our son up before his first year at Hogwarts, Pads. Not the opposite." Remus raised an eyebrow at his husband when the man looked back at him, and smirked when he pouted. The smirk was identical to the one suddenly on Harry's face as he watched two of his fathers. "Go save Neville from his mother's fussing, Harry."

On cue everyone turned to watch Alice indeed fussing around with Neville until the eleven year old pushed her away with the same look on his face Harry had had when Lily did the same. Frank was standing back with Agatha hugging his legs, watching them with a soft grin.

Kingsley rested a large hand on Harry's shoulder and steered him the few metres down the platform towards the family - who were oblivious to their friends watching them with amusement. "Come on. We need to find Ron, and Dorcas should be here soon with Lucille, and then you can all get off to your first year."

"Mum, why can't we go yet?" Hermione looked down at her daughters, six years old and both incredibly precocious. Twins had been a shock, though she supposed she should have expected it, they clearly ran in the Prewett family. They were each clutching one of her hands, Meghan with tears brewing in her large hazel eyes, and Helen with a scowl on her small forehead.

"You're not old enough yet, little Meggie." Fab and Gid appeared out of nowhere, and the latter swept Meghan up in his arms, tickling her until she giggled loudly. Helen pouted until Fabian grinned down at her and picked her up as well.

"Me?" Came the small voice of their little brother Sebastian, who was snuggled in James' arms.

"Not yet, love." Hermione ruffled his auburn curls, and a large smile lit her face when she locked eyes with James'. His eyes were full of love and awe for the woman he'd been married to for ten years now.

"Don't worry, mini-James–"

Hermione huffed and smacked Gideon on the arm, "You know that's not his name, Gid. You're going to give him a complex."

Gideon ignored her, but the grin flirting around his lips said he'd heard her, "–You and all the other little ones will be off soon." Gideon looked around their large group, at Peter's son Max curled in Lorna's arms, Harry's younger brother Thomas clutching at Lily's robes (which made him look a lot younger than his eight years), and further down the platform where Ginny stood forlornly next to Molly.

"Thank Merlin. Maybe we'll finally get some quiet then." Peter said with a large grin, which just widened when all the children old enough to understand sent him glares. "Did someone train them to do that in sync?"

"I wouldn't put it past you or your delinquent friends, my love." Lorna said with a chuckle that just increased in volume when the four Marauders sent her similar childish glares.

Kingsley returned then, lifting Thomas into his arms. The eight-year-old claimed to be too old for such an act, but actually happily hugged his father. Frank and Alice were in tow, and the children old enough to go to Hogwarts were conspicuously missing.

"All loaded onto the train?" Hermione asked Frank when he came to a stop next to her.

He smiled tiredly, "Yeah, Neville's been a terror since he got his damned letter. Dorcas is seeing them all onto the train properly."

"Is Luci alright?" Lily asked concernedly, "I know she was nervous about leaving her mum."

Frank nodded, pushing Agatha forward to play with the Potter twins, "Yeah she seemed okay."

"Her cousin Susan Bones is starting this year too, so she'll know loads of people." Hermione pointed out, looking down the platform and watching with strange fascination as student's she'd previously attended school with, loaded onto the train. Molly waved tiredly when Hermione caught her eyes, and started making her way over with the wailing Ginny. "Want us to take her for the night?" She nodded at Agatha, who was now pestering Alice for a trip to Diagon Alley and sweets. "Give you and Alice a break? We've got Thomas, Ginny, and our three so one more won't hurt. I think Sirius and Remus are going out for a celebratory drink, you could probably join them."

Frank grinned down at her, still his best friend after all these years. "If you really don't mind, 'Min."

"Are you volunteering us as babysitters again?" James asked with a grin, handing Seb off into the eager grasp of Gideon who had put Meghan down to play with the other kids when she started getting wriggly. James wrapped his arm tightly around Hermione's shoulders.

"We're not going to get any peace tonight anyway." Hermione shrugged, "What's one more? All of our friends can go out and celebrate, or drown their sorrows, over the loss of their children to Hogwarts while we take on their responsibilities for them." She laughed, and kissed James quickly when he pouted. "We can get them back when it's our turn."

"I'll go offer to take Wormy's son then. All of our friends should be able to go out without us."

Hermione grinned and happily accepted a hug from Frank. "We wouldn't have been able to do all of this without you, 'Min." He whispered into her wild curls.

"I wouldn't have been able to do what I did, without all of you." She hugged him back tight, and if tears escaped her eyes, well no one was paying attention.
