TW: Substance abuse

Dionysus Bacchus, District 1 Male (17)

Something was very wrong. I had no idea where I was.

I didn't remember much. Mostly the party, hanging out with people, making out a little. I think Cassius brought a flask of that really strong Capitol import stuff, but I don't remember. It's weird. I remember fragments. I remember being there, and a few other people, too, Cassius, Emerald, Sapphire and Lapis, unfortunately. They spent the entire time in the corner, speaking in tongues, I remembered that much.

I sat up, rubbing my head. It hurt, a lot. I looked around and saw a couch, a table, a few chairs. I think this was my living room? Jeez, how much alcohol did I have that I didn't even recognize my own home?

Struggling to my feet, I grabbed my watch, lying on the table next to me, and nearly choked.

"12:30?" I asked aloud, shocked. I was late to training! I snatched my shirt off the ground, pulled it on, and tried to run out the door, but took two steps and pitched forward, face-planting into the ground.

I sighed and tried to stand, but my legs gave out and I hit the ground once again. I rolled over, staring at the ceiling, exhausted. This wasn't worth it. Training wasn't gonna happen today.

The sound of footsteps caught my attention and I glanced up, watching a tall, lithe form walk towards me. It belonged to a boy with golden brown hair and blue eyes, a face that had charmed more than two dozen Academy girls, and a few of the boys, too. I sighed.

"What are you doing here, Eros?" I asked my brother, leaning my head back to the ground. He leaned over me, frowning.

"I could ask you the same question," he replied. "You didn't show up for training."

"I overslept," I shot back quickly.

"Hungover, you mean," Eros clarified. "Because I know you, and I know the only reason you would miss training is because you were dead drunk the night before. Hanging out with Cassius and his friends again?"

"You mean my friends?" I asked, now thoroughly tired of dealing with him.

"They're not good for you, Dion. He's just gonna get you in a lot of trouble."

"I can make my own decisions," I replied. "I don't need a babysitter. Just leave me alone."

Eros sighed. "Fine. It's your call."

And with that, he walked away, leaving me lying on the ground, somehow feeling worse than before he arrived.

Allure Beldam, District 1 Female (18)

This year was going to be interesting.

For one, the male volunteer was Dionysus Bacchus. It was supposed to be Silver Santoro, but he slipped during a sparring match and nearly lost his eye and it was a miracle he survived at all, and then the second string volunteer, Gleam Rouge, got arrested for some open bottle thing in his car, and not even the Academy could bail him out, so this year One was sending in an alcoholic as our male tribute, and for our female, well, it'll be a lot easier.

Since, after all, it was me.

I would say I never expected this honor, but in reality, it's kind of crazy I wasn't chosen at a younger age. I deserved it, that much was sure.

I walked into the Academy the day before the Reaping with my head high. I stood above the rest, and I knew it. It wasn't vanity, or conceitedness, I just simply knew it to be true. I was the best the Academy could put out and I intended to act like it.

I saw Glitter waiting for me just inside the sparring room and I sighed. Glitter and I, well, we weren't conventional best friends. In truth, I only really hung out with her because having someone with her background around made me seem a little nicer, as well as a lot prettier. She hung out with me for my money. We both knew the score, and there was no love lost between us. But that didn't stop us pairing up for sparring every week. She was the only girl who gave me a challenge, and I was the only one who could beat her. Sometimes I let her win, just for kicks and giggles.

I smiled as I looked around at all the other girls. They were good, I had to admit it. A few of them actually came close to beating me. But none of them were chosen. It was me. No one else. Just me.

Dang, I'm flying through these! Only four districts left already! Next up is Ten!

EDIT: Definitely didn't add this to my doc manager and forget to upload it.
