Hi. Sooooooo I've been gone for a while. I was having some trouble writing anything this whole summer because I had lost a lot of motivation to do it, but the worst part was how quiet I've been here. I really want to make this clear that while I enjoy posting my stuff here, this isn't my main site, as you can tell from my (lack of) profile page. Here is the link to my main account on DA. ( redflames01) There I not only post the chapters four days earlier (though I fine tune the chapters here), I also have some art and I release updates if something is going on. I won't leave this place, but I'm much more 'alive' there, so I'd say you should check that out.

With that said, I hope you enjoy this chapter. This may be short, but I promise you, this was one of my favorite chapters to do. Also, I will be releasing a chapter from one of my series every week for the near future, so stay tuned!

A Vulpix was sitting under a Perfect Apple tree, a spot where she always comes to once a day. Even if school is a lot on her, even if she has to go somewhere for the rest of the day, the full day even. If it means she has to wake up at midnight and sneak out of her house to be here for at least a moment, then she'll do it. Because this Perfect Apple tree wasn't special because it always had Perfect Apple on the branches above. No, there were thousands around this island she lived on, and hundreds around the area where she lived. In fact, she could see more than a dozen more just a few yards away. No, this tree wasn't special because how rare it is (or lack there of), this was the spot she and her sister will always come together, have a bite to eat with the yummy fruit hanging above their heads, and most importantly, talk.

Now, it wasn't like they were two long lost sisters that never see each other, they did everything together. They slept in the same room, went to the same school, eat pretty much the same stuff and amount as the other. They were as close as you can get without becoming one being. But this tree was still special to them. It was the place where they could unwind, say anything that was on their chest that they didn't want to say in the public. A place where they could be true with one another. Both Vulpixs have they own share of problems that come up at different times, and the first Pokemon they'll tell about them is the other Vulpix.

Now, they didn't have bad parents, far from it. Their mother was as sweet as a dessert, and would always be ready to help them out if they needed help, and so was their father, but even the parents knew that the two siblings knew each other like the back of their paws. Not that they didn't understand them, but they knew that whatever they had on their minds, they should be able to sort things out.

No matter the odds, the two were never afraid to talk about what's on their minds. No stone was left unturned. They cared too much for each other to let the other down.

...and that's why it hurts so much.

The Vulpix sighed. Normally, if one her big sister was running late, she'd take an apple from the tree to pass the time by, but...this time was different. The past couple of days have been very different from what they had been before. It all started because her sister wanted to see the world. Unlike her little sister, she wanted more than just being stuck on this island that's isolated from any kind of outsider. Not matter what anymon said about the 'outside world being dangerous', it didn't stop her. She was willing to get stronger. In fact, the two siblings have had their fair share of spares, with the Vulpix regularly losing to her older sibling, but it was still fun, but that stopped when something changed.

The Vulpix closed her eyes and pondered. It was only a moment that she and her big sister were apart near the temple, and the next thing she knows, her big sis is way more powerful than before. And then a Hisuian Arcanine she had never seen before showed up, and said that she needed to get ready for 'what is coming', whatever that means.

And that was only half of it. Now on top of doing school, her sister has to go with this Pokemon somewhere where she couldn't go to cheer her on because of...

"Gahh!" She grunted. She didn't like him. Not one bit. Her sister has had less time to spend with her lately, so little time that she has a feeling that her sister isn't telling her everything. Her grades in school are going down like a Tailow diving to the ground, and she was the best in class, so to she her struggle so much that she's barely making it through and is asking her to help her get school work done...

That Arcanine was taking her away and changing her sister, and she was done with it. Why, if she ever saw him again, she'd let him know a thing or two.

"That's not a nice thing to think about, Kindle." The Vulpix was shocked and turned into an Alolan Vulpix for a moment as the voice rang in her hand.

Telepathy. That move is common to many strangers here, but the voice was one that she knew very well. Her mother.

"Mom." Kindle said as she walked up to the Alolan Ninetales and gave her a big hug. She may be a Fire-Type, and her mother was part Ice-Type, but there was something about the aura she admitted whenever Kindle hugged her that was soothing to her. It made her feel like she was at the perfect temperature, and that always brighten her day, even during a time like this.

"It's nice to see you here." Her mother said, this time with her mouth. "I was told you would be here by your sister."

Kindle's eyes brighten. Hope was returned to her. "Wait, are you saying that-"

Her mother put her paw onto her daughter's lips. "Let's sit down by the tree, ok. I want to talk to you about something."

Like the sides of a coin, her excitement turned into dread. She knew her mother would only use the best words to convey her thoughts, but that still meant that she had something important to say.

And she thinks she knows what it is about.

They both sat down under the tree. Her mother then grabbed two Perfect Apple using Psychic power, something that was the result of the gift that she had, and set them on the ground for them to enjoy, but it was clear that the small Vulpix wasn't in the mood to eat.

Her mother sighed, but she finally knew how to phrase what she wanted to share with her youngest child. "Kindle, I know it's been a rough patch of days, and I'm sorry that you're confused about what's been going on." Her mother started. "And I won't lie, it's been rough for everymon in our household."

The Vupix looked down, trying to keep herself calm as memories from the past week start to flood her mind. Her mother continued, "The future is one beast that we'll will never be able to overcome, not matter how powerful we are. There will always be twists and turns that have to be fought against. It's just the way of life."

The Ninetales' ears picked up a faint grunting noise from her child. She knew that this would be hard to listen to, but it was something that needed to be addressed. "As I'm sure you know, your sister has been struggling with her grades for all of her classes, so much so that she was sent to the principal's office when school ended. When I heard about it, I wanted to see her before she headed over here, but-"

"Did he show up again?" The Vulpix said, interrupting her mother.

The Fox Pokemon bit her tongue. Even though Kindle wasn't as good as her sister, she was still a very smart Pokemon, and unfortunately, she had just figured out what was going on.

With her head pointing to the ground, she uttered, "Yes."

"And did he take her?"

"...yes."

"So, she's not coming here?"

"...yes..."

"Not anytime soon?"

"..."

This just turned into a losing battle for the Ninetales. In fact, she could already hear Kindle starting to break down, but she still remained silent.

Slowly, Kindle's weeping became full out crying. This was something that was hard for her to accept. Something that she won't accept. She hugged her mother once more, but this time she buried her face into her soft coat of fur.

"It's not fair!" She stated. "He's taking her away from us, and she's slowly becoming different. The way she acts, talks, even thinks...it's messed up, and I wish that he would leave us alone."

The Ninetales then put both of her arms around the child and embraced her. Now, it was her turn to comfort her child.

"Sweetie, you're sister has always dreamed of seeing the world, and helping others in need, and that's what Ash is doing-"

The Vulpix cried more into the fur. Whoops, she slipped up. The Ninetales stayed calm as she said, "What he's doing isn't a wrong thing, Kindle. I just think he's going about this the wrong way. You're sister has a lot more responsibility then even me, so it's my job as her mother to keep an eye on her so that she doesn't get carried away."

"But why her?!" Kindle said as she took her teared face out of her mother's chest and looked her in the eyes. "Why is this happening to her? Why couldn't it be anymon else?"

Her mother responded, "Because she was chosen, and she accepted the role. I'm not sure she knew that it would end up being this hard for her, but even though that's the case, I can still sense that she doesn't want to quit."

The Vulpix's head returned to her mother's chest as the Ninetales began to softly stroke the top of Kindle's head. "Your sister never gives up no matter what. She's still been going to school, she still goes to practice, and she still comes to see you here doesn't she?"

Kindle's crying slowly came to a halt as she looked her mother in the eye's again, this time seeing more of the calm blue eyes that made her feel at ease. "No matter what happens, she will always be you best friend, and she will always find a way to see you, and talk to you under this tree. Change is a lot of things, but one thing it isn't is bad, because everything in the world has a silver lining to it. It's not always clear at first, but believe me, there's always one if you look in the right places."

Kindle stopped crying completely as her mother finished. "There are challenges, sure, but by the way your sister is tackling them, at the end of all of this, she'll come out stronger than ever, and she'll be able to protect me, you, and more Pokemon than you could dream of...she's going to live her dream soon, and it will be more fantastic than she could ever imagine."

The two looked at each other in silence, but Kindle's mood had been changed. Her mother was the best when it came to talking about anything that the two sisters couldn't figure out, and she had just proven why that was the case. Kindle hugged her mother harder as a big smile came across her face.

"Thank you, Mom." She said as the clouds went away from her. The Alolan Ninetales smiled too. "You're welcome, my little firecracker. I think it's about time I let you know what's been going on."

Kindle's face darted to her mother. "You mean you'll tell me everything?!"

Her mother sighed. "Well, one of the biggest things I dislike about Ash is how he wants to keep these things away from most Pokemon, especially small ones who haven't seen the world for themselves yet." Her mother said. "And while I agree that is shouldn't be something everymon knows about, it's something that somemon that's so close to her should know. Just know that you must keep this between our family and anymon else I give you permission to tell them about this. If everymon here heard about this, the whole island will go into an uproar."

Kindle was confused. "Why's that?"

Her mom looked her in the eyes and said, "Because Eve has been chosen by Arceus."
