Meta Knight sat by the edge of the cliff, truly alone with his thoughts.

He remembered Angelo had told him about this spot, and how he would always come here when he couldn't sleep. At first, Meta Knight had been mildly confused as to why he would do such a thing. Now, faced with the same predicament, Meta Knight couldn't help but decide to give Angelo's method a try. He was glad he did. The gentle breeze and the stars in the sky proved to relax him unlike anything else.

He took a deep breath. He felt…more at peace than he ever had. He could've fallen asleep out here, and he was almost sure that it would've been better than sleeping in his actual bed.

It wasn't long before he heard footsteps behind him.

He chuckled. "Ah, I see you couldn't sleep as well, my friend. I now see the appeal of coming to this spot. It is…peaceful."

Silence.

"...Angelo?"

"Pi…?"

Meta Knight jumped. He whirled around to find not Angelo, but Pichu.

The Tiny Mouse Pokémon slowly walked up to Meta Knight, advancing sluggishly on all fours. He sat down next to the other Fighter and yawned, rubbing his eyes as he tiredly exhaled. He looked very, very sleepy.

"Pi…Pi…chu?" he asked.

Meta Knight blinked. "He…Hello, Pichu. I…was not expecting to see you here."

Pichu yawned again. "Pichu…Chu, Pi?" he asked.

The other Fighter shook his head. "I…was unable to sleep, so I…I remembered something Angelo told me. He said that this particular spot was…'really, really good, bro.'"

Pichu perked up at the mention of Angelo's name. His eyes widened and he said, "Pichu?"

Meta Knight chuckled. "No, Angelo is not here at the moment, though I would not be surprised if he did arrive eventually."

"Pi…" the Pokémon said, sounding slightly disappointed.

They sat in silence for a while, gazing at the stars together. Meta Knight had always been fond of the jewels of the night sky. The view on Planet Popstar had been unrivaled, and he remembered that the princess Rosalina also enjoyed stargazing. He wondered if she had ever seen this view.

After a while, Pichu tapped Meta Knight on the shoulder.

"Yes, Pichu?" he asked.

"Pi…Pichu, Chu Pichu?"

Meta Knight blinked. "Popstar? Where…Where I come from?"

Pichu nodded, then yawned again.

Meta Knight sighed. "It's a…bit like a fantastical land, if I had to describe it. It's a cheerful place, most of the time. Kirby and I, as well as King Dede and sometimes Bandana Waddle Dee, protect Dream Land from threats whenever they rise…although Kirby is usually the one who saves the day."

He turned to Pichu. "I think you'd like it there, Pichu. It definitely seems like the place for you."

Pichu smiled. "Pichu? Pichu Pichu?"

Meta Knight laughed. "Yes, of course. I would love to take you there someday. Who knows, maybe Angelo can come with us."

Pichu laughed sleepily. "Pichu…Piiii…"

He leaned against Meta Knight and immediately fell asleep.

The masked Fighter chuckled as the Tiny Mouse Pokémon snored lightly, using Meta Knight as a pillow. Taking a deep breath, he looked to the stars once more, enjoying this moment of peace.

"What the heck?"

It took all of Meta Knight's willpower not to jump, whirl around, and draw his sword at the same time (which was not with him at the moment, which was a first). Nevertheless, he turned to face the newcomer, causing Pichu's head to slip off his armored shoulder and fall to the ground.

It was Angelo.

And the biggest grin of all time was parked on his face.

"That has got to be the most adorable thing I've ever seen, man."

Meta Knight felt his face burn. Meanwhile, Pichu slowly stood up and rubbed his eyes. He gasped when he saw Angelo.

"Pichu!" he cried. He ran up and jumped into Angelo's arms. The other swordsman caught him with a laugh, then looked at Meta Knight.

"Looks like this spot did you some good after all, huh?" he said.

Meta Knight sighed, then chuckled. "Yes. It was…relaxing."

Angelo nodded. "I'm gonna get this little sir to bed. You coming?"

The small knight shook his head. "I think I will remain out here for a little while longer. Good night, Angelo."

Angelo grinned. "Good night, man."

He walked off, still cradling Pichu in his arms, who had now fallen asleep.

Meta Knight sighed and looked at the night sky, wondering if he would be able to keep his promise to Pichu.

Of course, he thought to himself. I would not want to let him down.

With a smile, he stood and started walking back to the Smash Mansion.

Just a bit of a chill chapter after all the hectic things Meta Knight's been through.
