"Pichu!'

"Piiii Pichu!"

"Piiiichu!"

Meta Knight didn't budge as Pichu tapped his shoulder and bolted.

The small knight simply wanted to read his book in peace. The story unfolding in the pages was getting juicier by the sentence, and Meta Knight really wanted to know who the murderer of the space pilot was.

"Pichu!" Pichu said again before jumping off the couch and looking back to see if Meta Knight was following him.

He was not.

Pichu jumped back on the couch and sighed in frustration. He grabbed Meta Knight's armored shoulder and shook him back and forth. "Pi-i-i-ichu-u-u-u!" he cried.

Meta Knight raised his arm to get Pichu off of him. "No, Pichu. I am not in the mood to play 'Tag' at the moment. I am sorry."

"Pi! Piiiiiiii!" he whimpered.

Meta Knight turned to look him in the eye. He was about to tell him "no" in the firmest voice he could muster when he saw Pichu's face. His eyes were wide and about to spill tears. His tiny hands were clasped under his chin, and his expression was one of pleading.

Meta Knight slapped his forehead, scolding himself for making such a stupid mistake. You never look into the eyes of a cute creature when they ask for something.

"Are you going to leave me alone if I don't?" he asked the Pokémon.

Pichu shook his head, his expression remaining the same.

The other Fighter sighed heavily. "Fine. I will play. For a little bit, understand?"

"Piii! Pichuuu!" Pichu cried cheerfully. He happily hugged Meta Knight and nuzzled his face a little, then released him.

"Pichu?" he asked as the small knight put his book down.

Meta Knight sighed. "Let us get this over with."

Pichu grinned, then lunged forward. "Pichu!" he shouted as he practically smacked Meta Knight in the mask.

"Oof!" he grunted as he fell back. He shook his head and quickly stood up, searching for his target. He found him on the other side of the rest area, waving cheerfully.

"Oh, I don't think so," he growled as he spread his wings and took off into the air.

Pichu laughed and ran down the hall, and the game of Tag began.

Pichu used Quick Attack to zoom around a corner, leaving Meta Knight's line of sight for a second before he rounded the corner himself and saw the Pokémon once more. He also saw Bowser ahead, and the Koopa King was taking up a good portion of the hallway.

Pichu used Quick Attack once more to jump to the wall and over Bowser's head. Bowser grunted in confusion as the Pokémon zinged over his head.

"What the–"

He was interrupted by Meta Knight flying right over his head. His wings created a gust of wind that caused the shelled Fighter to shield his face.

"HEY! Watch where you're going, punk!" he called after Meta Knight.

Meta Knight didn't have time to apologize. He was on a mission, and he would see this mission to the end.

Pichu exited the hallway and ran up to King K. Rool. He quickly dashed around the Kremling King and giggled excitedly while the fat Fighter turned around in confusion.

Meta Knight attempted to fly around King K. Rool to get to Pichu. Pichu just ran around to the other side of the bigger Fighter to avoid Meta Knight. The masked Fighter growled in frustration as the two of them continued going around King. K Rool, much to the king's confusion and misery. Finally, King K. Rool got so dizzy that he spun in a circle and collapsed to the ground, right on top of Meta Knight.

"ACK!" he cried as he was thoroughly crushed. King K. Rool's golden belly pressed down on him, leaving him barely able to move.

"Pi…chu!" he managed to say. "Help…me!"

Pichu fell over, laughing at Meta Knight's current predicament. "Pichu! Pichu Pichu Pi!" he cried.

"PI…CHU!" Meta Knight shouted. His arm was stuck, and he was unable to grab his cape so he could teleport out of there. With great effort, he managed to shuffle his way out from under the other Fighter to freedom.

"Pichu!" Pichu said, then dashed off.

Meta Knight spread his wings with a growl. "I'M NOT FINISHED WITH YOU!" he shouted.

And so the chase continued.

Meta Knight and Pichu ran past dozens of other Fighters, all of which shouted with confusion as they zoomed by. Meta Knight couldn't help but feel a sense of thrill from this game. He was never one to "play" or–and even he was willing to admit this–have fun every once in a while. Meta Knight only got this exhilarated when he was battling.

What in the world was Pichu doing to him?

Whatever it was, Meta Knight was a little glad that he was able to experience this with Pichu.

Pichu used Quick Attack to zoom to the top of Cloud's head. The SOLDIER grunted in surprise at the Tiny Mouse Pokémon currently sitting in his spiky hair. Meta Knight flew in front of Cloud and glared at Pichu.

"Cloud, I apologize for this. Pichu wished to play Tag, and I must admit, it is very…fun."

Before Cloud could respond, Meta Knight dove at Pichu. The Electric-Type Fighter jumped out of the way, leaving Meta Knight to swoop right over Cloud's head and nearly blow him over. Pichu landed on the floor and continued running. Meta Knight quickly followed, leaving a very confused Cloud behind.

Pichu ran up to Steve and spoke to him in a series of rapid "Pi's" and "Pichu's." Steve tilted his head questioningly until the other Fighter pointed back at Meta Knight. Steve nodded and placed a block of Cobblestone right in front of the small knight as he lunged for Pichu. Meta Knight ran right into the block and yelped in pain.

He shook his head and flapped into the air once more. Unfortunately, a bunch of blocks had been placed around Pichu in the small amount of time it took for Meta Knight to recover. Steve was digging down into the floor. For what, Meta Knight had no idea.

Meta Knight tapped the block closest to him. "Pichu," he said. "Come out."

A giggle. "Piiichu!"

Meta Knight flew back a bit, braced himself, then flew forward and slammed into the block, which, thankfully, was a Dirt Block. He smashed through it easily to uncover his target.

Pichu was gone.

Meta Knight gasped as he saw the tunnel underneath the mound of blocks. It led underground. From the hole, Meta Knight could hear the sound of Pichu laughing and what he assumed was Steve mining ever deeper.

"Oh, no, you don't," he said a bit excitedly, then dove into the hole.

When he landed, a TNT Block was lit and waiting for him.

"NO!" Meta Knight shouted. He flapped his wings and tried to fly out of the hole. He only made it halfway out before the TNT exploded.

"AHH!" he cried as he was slammed against a wall from the force of the blast. He slid to the floor with a groan, his ears ringing. He shook his head when he heard the sound of Pichu laughing.

He turned and saw the Tiny Mouse Pokėmon on the floor, rolling around in his mirth. Steve was standing next to him, crouching repeatedly in what Meta Knight remembered was a T-Bag.

The masked Fighter spread his wings and lunged at Pichu. Pichu almost instantly got to his feet and dashed off once more.

Pichu led Meta Knight around a corner, and when Meta Knight followed, he saw Pichu inside of Bowser Jr.'s Clown Kart.

"Pichu!" he called.

"See ya, chump!" the Koopa prince said, then the Clown Kart grew wheels and sped off.

Meta Knight laughed and flapped his wings even faster to catch up. The Pokėmon would not be getting away.

Bowser Jr. and Pichu sped through the halls of the Smash Mansion, finally arriving at the main hall. The Clown Kart busted through the front doors and spun to a stop as Pichu jumped away from it. Meta Knight wasn't that far behind.

As Bowser Jr. rode away, Pichu continued running away from Meta Knight, sprinting towards the cliffside area not too far away from the Mansion.

The masked Fighter laughed. Pichu should not have led him to such a wide open area. He could now easily outrun him.

Meta Knight tucked in his wings slightly and went into a small nosedive, aiming for Pichu as he ran towards the cliff. With a triumphant "Ha HA!"Meta Knight tackled Pichu to the ground. The two Fighters slid to a stop a few yards away from the cliff edge, Pichu giggling and laughing the whole time.

Meta Knight stood up and looked Pichu in the eye. "I've got you," he said.

Pichu laughed. "Piiichuuu!" he said. He seemed absolutely excited after their little game.

Meta Knight stood panting and gasping. Chasing down the Electric-Type Fighter had taken a lot out of him, but it was still fun nonetheless.

Pichu sat up and sighed, staring in the direction of the sunset. Meta Knight laughed and shook his head. "I can't believe it, Pichu," he said. "That was…fun. Yes…fun."

Pichu looked at him. "Pichu Pi! Pichu Pichu Pi, Chu Pichu Pi!"

The other Fighter sighed. "Yes, I am…glad I decided to do this. Thank you, Pichu."

Pichu smiled and turned to look at the sunset again.

"Although…" Meta Knight said. "There is one thing you forgot to regard."

The Pokėmon turned to look at him again. "Pichu?"

"If I am 'it,' and I have caught you, then I believe you know what that means."

Pichu's eyes widened. "Pi–"

Meta Knight planted a hand on Pichu's head.

"Tag. You are it."

Meta Knight quickly flapped his wings and flew away, back towards the Smash Mansion.

"PICHU!" Pichu yelped, then scrambled to his feet and started to give chase.

Meta Knight laughed.

Wow. I can't believe Meta Knight actually had some fun.

Welp, that was really fun to write. Again, someone asked for a kid-friendly story, and this idea popped into my head, and it wouldn't leave me alone until I made it a reality.

Thank you so much for reading, and remember to Stay Epic, Gamers.
