Liviya's POV

The fellowship was trekking through a land of Deep Valleys and turbulent waters...the misty mountains rose sharply to our left.

"We must hold to his course west of the misty Mountains for forty days. If our luck holds, the Gap of Rohan will still be open to us. From there, our road turns east, to Mordor." Gandalf told us as we traveled. When we camped Vuki and I kept to ourselves.

One morning when I woke up I saw Sam at the campfire and heard the sound of clashing swords! I looked around and saw Aragorn and Boromir were giving Pippin Sword tuition...

"Get away from the blade, Pippin...on your toes...good, very good...I want you to react, not think." Boromir told Pippin. "Should not be too hard..." Sam told me as I sat down. I snickered, Sam was the only person in the fellowship that trusted me completely.

"Move your feet." Boromir called to Pippin.

"Quite good, Pippin." Merry said to his cousin. "Thanks." Pippin said. I looked to my other side, Gimli had managed to corner Gandalf... "If anyone were to ask for my opinion, which I note they have

not, I would say we are taking the long way round. Gandalf, we can pass through the Mines of Moria. My cousin, Balin, would give us a royal welcome." Gimli told Gandalf. Gandalf clearly thought that was a bad idea.

"No, Gimli. I would not take the road through Moria unless I had no other choice." Gandalf told him. Boromir thrust, catching Pippin on the hand. Pippin threw down his sword, kicked and lunged at Boromir, tackling him to the ground. The sword fighters started laughing.

Legolas' eyes were fixed on a distant Dark Patch which darts about the sky, like flying

smoke in the wind. "What is that?" Sam asked as it got closer. "Nothing...it's just a wisp of a cloud." Gimli said. "It's moving fast...against the wind." Boromir said in worry. "Crebain from Dunland!" Cried Legolas.

"Hide!" Aragorn ordered, Vuki grabbed me and thrust us both under some brush. He used his cloak to cover my golden hair which might shine and give us away.

"Merry..Pippin...Sam...take cover!" I heard Boromir cry to the hobbits. When the birds had passed my brother uncovered me and helped me to my feet.

"Spies of Saruman." Gandalf told us. "The passage South is being watched."

Gandalf looked at Aragorn, turned to the others and gestured towards a high mountain pass. "We must take the pass of Caradhras!" Gandalf said and he lead us in that direction.

As we walked, Legolas caught up to me and decided to talk to me. "Pardon me," he told me politely. "But am I correct in believing you are half elf?" "I am," I told him. "My mother was a high elf." "Then you are my kin!" Legolas said in surprise.

"I am more closely related to Lord Elrond," I told him. "My mother was the niece of Feänor's wife." "Fascinating!" Legolas exclaimed. "I had no idea!" "Neither did Sauron." I said, he looked at me oddly. "You do not call him father." He stated, I shot him an angry look. "He is not a father to me." I said before moving next to my brother and leaving my kin behind.

The Fellowship clambered through Rock and Snow. Frodo slipped on some shale...as he scrambled to his feet, the Ring fell on the ground... Boromir picked it up by the chain...he stood, the ring dangling before his eyes. He seemed

to grow in stature, as if he was absorbing its power. Aragorn warily approached Boromir...Boromir was motionless...he stared at the ring, as if transfixed.

"Boromir?" Aragorn asked him cautiously.

"It is a strange fate that we should suffer so much fear and doubt over so small a thing... such a little thing." Boromir said reflectively "Boromir...give the ring to Frodo." Aragorn ordered as his hand moved to his sword hilt. a Weird beatific smile lit up Boromir's face...Boromir suddenly snapped out of his trance and handed the ring back to Frodo.

"As you wish. I care not." Boromir smiled at Frodo and ruffled his hair. I sighed in relief, I could sense Sauron, he was searching for his ring. Just being in close proximity to his ring gave me more powers… I could see the past things that happened in different places, like now. I was many soldiers climbing this mountain, they were trying to get away from…

Frodo gently grabbed my arm and I jumped. "We must move on." He said softly, I nodded. Vuki and Legolas were walking on top of the snow and I sighed aloud. "How I wish the elves were staying in middle earth," I told all the company. "Somehow, their leaving feels like the beginning of the end."

"All elves must go home someday," Legolas said. "You too will come to the grey havens someday." Vuki smiled at him, happy for encouragement.

Soon we were struggling through a blinding blizzard, up towards the PASS OF CARADHRAS. Legolas the Elf moved lightly across the top of the snow...he suddenly paused.Saruman's voice swept by in the wind. "There is a fell voice in the air." Legolas said urgently.

"It's Saruman." Cried Gandalf in alarm. Thunder rumbled ...rock and Shale fell from above. "He's trying to bring

down the mountain. Gandalf! We must turn back!" Aragorn yelled over the wind. I shielded Sam from the wind and snow with my cloak, Vuki did the same with Frodo. "No!" Yelled Gandalf, before he raised his staff and chanted into the wind. "Losto Caradhras, sedho, hodo, nuitho I ruith. (Sleep Caradhras, be still, lie still, hold your wrath.)"

Saruman's voice strengthened, rolling past the fellowship like thunder. A bolt of lightning exploded on the mountainside above us. Frodo looked up in horror as a huge snow avalanche thundered down towards them! We threw ourselves against the cliff face as snow crashes onto the narrow ledge. Legolas pulled Gandalf to safety. Aragorn shielded Vuki,Frodo,Sam, and I as snow piled around us. Within moments, the pass was blocked and enveloped in snow. Boromir, Aragorn, and Vuki frantically dug for the hobbits...who were pulled out Shivering and Fearful.

" We must get off the mountain! Make for the gap of Rohan and take the West road to my city." Boromir yelled over the snow and ice. "The Gap of Rohan takes us too close to Isengard." Vuki argued, I was tired I wanted to get off this awful mountain. "We cannot pass over the mountain. Let us go under it. Let us go through the mines of Moria." Gimli shouted, Gandalf got a concerned look on his face.

"Let the ringbearer decide." He cried. the weight of the decision weighed heavily upon Frodo. Merry and Pippin were shivering in Boromir's arms. "Frodo?" Gandalf asked him Frodo met Gandalf's eye. "We will go through the mines." Frodo said. Gandalf slowly nodded. "So be it." Gandalf said gravely.

As we trekked back down the mountain it continued to snow. My brother cursed at the mountain and yelled at it. "I know you do not like us, but we are leaving now!" The men seemed rather upset. "It even defeated me!" My brother said jokingly. "And my sire was the mightiest among the Valar!" The rest of us were silent on the road to Moria.
