We Wish to be Cat Birbs

Kohei Horikoshi owns all characters and the universe of Boku no Hero Academia. I also don't own Twitter.

Nomu Rehabilitation for Little Heroes by PastelGlitterPen made this little fun thing happen. More closely, the cat bird Izuku thing made this one shot happen. I powered through my minor carpel tunnel aches in my left wrist to pump this out before the idea drifted away and I lose interest.

SUMMARY: Izuku and Ochako are Class 2-A's resident cats. But after seeing Hawks on TV a week after their Second Year Sports Festival, both began to day dream about having bird wings on top of being cats.

It has been one week since the UA Sports Festival. Izuku and Ochako were happy with how it ended up, even though Izuku ended up third place, Ochako second place, and Katsuki first place. It was also the weekend so the two felines were taking it easy being lazy cats on the sofa. They, of course, did some rearranging so that the sofas were now closer to the windows along with the TV and the entertainment stand it rested upon. That way, they could bask in the warm sun beams shining down through the curtain-drawn windows.

Yup. Lazy IzuOcha cats.

"Oh, look, it's Hawks," Izuku pointed out.

"Nyaa?" meows Ochako, peeking her head up to look at the TV.

On the TV it showed a breaking news event showing Hawks taking care of some weird villain who called himself The Monarch Butterfly. The guy was dressed in a butterfly-themed outfit but he had actual monarch butterfly wings and the head of the monarch butterfly. For the next five minutes Hawks was making sure the yellow glittery spores the villain released didn't rain down upon the civilians, and he was fighting through what looked like skin-touch paralysis because of said spores. However the Pro Hero managed to overcome the villain and promptly make the guy take a nap with some well-aimed feather shoots. The police that arrived shortly after would take the guy into custody and haul him off to jail. Hawks would smile and wave to the cheering crowds before taking flight.

"Huh, that was an interesting villain fight," comments Ochako.

"Yeah. A guy who looks like a child of the Mothman... crazy, nyaa." Izuku would gently card his left hand through Ochako's hair, making the girl purr in delight.

"Say... nyaa... how awesome would it be if we had wings on top of being cats?"

"Cat birbs, nyaa?"

Ochako giggles. "Cat birbs!"

They close their eyes, and could picture each other with how they look, but with colorful green and pink wings added to their backs. But they also could see each other having more feline appendages with the added wings.

"Ochako-nyaa, I gots an awesome idea."

Ochako looks up and smiles.

"Tell me."

It was a calm day and criminal activity seemed to have taken a break, which allowed a red-winged Hero to kick back and relax looking through social media and watching videos on HeroTube. Two weeks has passed since UA had their annual Sports Festival, and the hype was finally beginning to die down again. But while he was watching a video about a man recreating some anime food in real life, Keigo Takami (Hawks) glanced at a photo he found while mindlessly scrolling social media's Twitter and chuckles. In the photo posted by Izuku and Ochako from their Twitter account IzuOchaCats, it depicted two familiar cat students from UA's Hero Course Class 2-A, both whom he watched nearly dominate their second year Sports Festival just two weeks ago.

It depicted the feline students with their cat ear and tail traits, however they were wearing what looked like realistic cat hind legs with actual cat feet. And the feet weren't small - they were big, maybe the size of a lion's paw. What made it even more impressive was the fact both teens were wearing strapped wings. He knew they were fake, but he admired the extensive realistic detail the teens gave the wings. For the boy, Izuku, his wing set was a mixture of black and green feathers and trailing downward shifted to lighter colors with some tips of white at the end tips. For the girl, Ochako, her wing's feathers had the colors of pinks and dark purples with traces of white. They were striking up a unique crouching-like pose while cuddling Hawks plush dolls in their arms. And the wings were spread out showing a nice wing span. Upon closer look, Keigo can make out the small detail of glitter in parts of the wings to give it a cool effect.

"Cute."

He fires off a tweet to the photo he looked at.

Red Birb [NotHawks]
|IzuOchaCats Hey yo, cat birbs! Looking awesome~

Keigo's tweet to Izuku and Ochako's shared Twitter account would would obtain those numbers within twenty-four hours, and eventually reach over one million retweets, likes and favorites and quotes within the next three days. The link he had in the tweet that would lead back to the photo in question would get a similar viral treatment.

Posting AO3 stuff back to FFN. Enjoy.
