After her little rendezvous at the 'Love and Lunch', Crystal decided to head back to the neighborhood and try to seek refuge at somebody's else; but there was only one problem that was now standing in her way when it comes to that: she didn't know whose house is the closest to her current location. She knew Katie's house was too far from here, Chaz's wasn't an option since he'll probably be going through a break-up later, she doubts that any of the goths live nearby, and her only other option would have to be the trailer-park; but the problem with that last option was, despite being able to double-back to that place, if she was able to make it there before the storm begins. Regardless of her concerns, Crystal decided to just go ahead and start heading back to the trailer-park as fast as she possibly could.
During her run, Crystal kept glancing upward towards the sky, seeing the dark clouds getting closer and closer to the town; and even worse, she still wasn't close to where the trailer-park was. In fact, when she stopped to get her bearings on her current location, she soon came to realize that she was actually deeper into the DownTown District; and even worse, most of the buildings around this area, both stores and other facilities, appeared to be closed. It would appear that she's both lost and fucked; and this was so not how she wanted to die, especially not today of all times, when she's finally able to get Chaz to herself.
After some time trying to find someplace that wasn't closed off for the night, Crystal eventually found somewhere that she could take refuge in; Club Candy. She recalled that earlier today, when she was told by Sapphire that she and her girlfriend were going to be heading there after they were done at the beach; however, that unfortunately doesn't confirm whether or not they're still here. Crystal took a glance over to the club building's parking-lot to see that it was vacant of cars, with the exception of one; and upon further inspection, it was indeed Candy's, due to the fact that there was a musical-note shaped hood-ornament on the very front. Now that she knows that Candy and Sapphire were still here, she ultimately decided that this was where she'll be taking shelter in until morning.
Crystal approached the club's front door, giving it a firm knock, calling out for the two partiers as she did; and within no time at all, one of them answered. Instead of Sapphire, a different girl answered the door for the rebel; one who has short blonde hair with freckles all over her face, and wore light green headphones, a red turtleneck tank-top with green cargo-pants. Obviously, this was DJ Candy, Sapphire's girlfriend, and one of the coolest girls in this entire town.
"If you came to party, come back tomorrow; because we're closed." Candy informed the rebel, only to then suddenly realize who she was upon seeing her face. "Oh, hey, you're that one girl I've seen talking to my girlfriend on occasions, aren't you? That one bad girl who kissed made out with that goth at that Halloween party last year?"
"Yeah, that's me...thanks for the reminder..." Crystal answered begrudgingly, rolling her eyes as she did. "Also, it was just a simple kiss; I didn't make out with her."
"Chill, dude, me and Saph weren't there at that party; so, I just assumed, dude." Candy then stepped aside, allowing the rebellious tomboy to enter the building. "Anyway, since my girlfriend's cool with you, I'll just let you stay with us; but don't turn on anything around the first floor, because we don't want any of the equipment to end up malfunctioning if a power outage happens. You think you can do that for us?"
"Can I still use your bar?"
"Of course, you can; unless you want to drink something that's warm and not cold."
"Hey, I'd go for a cold one or a warm beer any day." Crystal then walked over to where the club's snack-bar is, which was right when Candy closed the front-door, causing the entirety of the club's interior to turn pitch black. "What the fuck?!" The former tomboy exclaimed.
"Oh, yeah; and I forgot to mention that we'll be using flashlights to get around down here." Candy then informed as she turns on a flashlight, aiming it towards the snack-bar, where Crystal was standing beside its counter. "There should already be one turned on in the kitchen anyway; so, since we won't be using that room, you can use that one all you like."
"Thanks." Crystal began to make her way into the club's kitchen, which was also when Sapphire walked in from the back-hallway.
"Alright; so, everything in the back-hallway has been, like, put away; and both of the back-doors are, like, also secured." Sapphire informed her girlfriend, approaching her with a flashlight aimed directly at her. "Is everything out here secure enough to survive this hurricane?"
"Yep." Candy answered while nodding her head. "Everything electronic has been turned off; the turntables, and the speakers, have been unplugged; and finally, every single light in this place has been turned off; so, we'll set." She then kisses her girlfriend on the cheek, before looking off towards the club's snack-bar. "By the way, that one girl, I believe you said her name's Crystal, she just showed up here while you were back there in the supply-closet; and she's also going to be staying with us here, overnight. You cool with that, babe?"
"Well, of course, I am." Sapphire answered, before looking around the extremely-dark area to see where the rebel is, only to be unable to find her, even with the flashlight shined in every direction. "So, uh...where is she now?"
"She's in our snack-bar, collecting herself a beer."
It was at this moment, Crystal came walking out of the kitchen with a bottle of beer, and the flashlight that Candy was referring to, in hand. "Hey, Saph." The former tomboy greeted upon approaching the two party-girls. "I take it you were told that I'm going to be waiting out the storm here with you guys, hmm?"
"Well, obviously." Sapphire answered while leaning against her girlfriend's shoulder. "Also, me and Candy could totally use the company tonight; because our other friend, Zack, called us at the last minute to tell us that he couldn't make it back here due to, like, totally forgetting his phone-charger at his house; so, he's trapped there now for tonight." Her eyes then peered down towards the dress that the rebel was still currently wearing. "By the way, I totally like the new dress you got there."
"What?" Crystal asked, before suddenly looking down at her current attire. "Oh, right, I totally forgot that I was still wearing this."
"So, tell me, what's the special occasion?"
"Oh, just a trip to the 'Love and Lunch'..." A mischievous smirk immediately formed on the rebellious tomboy's face. "...which was where I watched as Chaz and Summer's relationship takes a turn for the worst; and it was all thanks to me...with some extra help from my ex-boyfriend, as well as a rabbit." She took a pause, now noticing the confused expression that was plastered on the faces of the two partiers. "It's a long story what happened."
"I bet..." Candy said awkwardly.
"So, I'm guessing Chaz and Summer are, like, no longer together now, right?" Sapphire then asked, stepping forward towards Crystal. "Also, does Chaz now know about that hot guy we both, like, saw talking to his girlfriend-er, well...ex-girlfriend?"
"Uh...no, and also no; but after tonight, I'm sure that they'll call the quits and break up; and as for the one hot dude that Summer was talking too...I'm taking a leap of faith here and hoping that she ends up telling him about it what their break-up actually...you know, happens."
"So, I'm guessing the 'Summer Baxter Portion' of your revenge plan is, like, totally profiled?"
"That would be correct."
"What about that one girl you took those nudes from?"
"Oh, she's still getting hers too; but...now I'm just waiting for her, or Summer, to try and do shit to either me or Yuki; and then they'll see how it feels to have a photo, or 'photos' that is, affect her life." Crystal then pulls out her Smartphone out of her pocket. "Oh, I forget that I also now have a photo to use against Summer too; and it's the moment where she's completely and totally humiliated." She then hands it over to the partiers. "Here, take a look for yourselves."
Candy and Sapphire were then given the phone, checking out the photo of Summer that the rebel had taken from 'Love and Lunch'. "Damn, that rabbit seriously did a number on that girl!" The former of the two partiers exclaimed.
"I know, right?" Sapphire said, before handing the rebel back her phone. "It sucks too; because I have, like, the same kind of dress at home; but my dress is lot more of a darker pink than the one she's wearing."
"To be fair, if it weren't for the fact that it's already been ruined, you'd probably pull off that dress way better than Summer." Crystal commented to the brown-haired partier. "Heck, you'd probably pull off a lot of things that she wears better than her too."
"Oh, why thank you, Crystal." Sapphire said through chuckles, causing her girlfriend to roll her eyes.
"Hey, I usually don't lend any of my input whenever my girlfriend tries to get couples together or help them out; but considering everything that you're doing for her, in regards to that photo Summer took, are you sure you don't have feelings for Yuki?" Candy then asked, causing the rebel to glare at her. "I mean, you are getting back at Summer...and that other girl...specifically for her."
"By 'specifically for her', I mean 'get back at the bitches who hate my guts for a photo that they're taking out of context, and nearly ruined my friendship with her and nearly destroyed her relationship with her boyfriend'." Crystal refuted. "I'm not doing all of this because I'm in love with her or anything; and I've already made it clear to everyone who's known about that photo already that I only kissed Yuki just to comfort her."
"I don't know, dude; because I've never heard of a situation before where someone kisses another in a means to comfort them, while knowing they have a partner of their own already."
"As far-fetched as it is, I'm telling you the truth here, dude." Crystal then took another sip of her beer. "I'm not into her and she's not into me; and, like I said, she's got a boyfriend of her own, and as far as I'm concerned, they're totally happy together."
Candy was still a bit skeptical about everything, despite that there were some good points brought up; but rather than question her any further, she decided to just drop the topic all together. "Okay, if you say so, dude." She simply said with a shrug. "So, do you want to go upstairs into the break-room now? That's where we'll be sleeping tonight."
"You guys have beds in your break-room?"
"Well, no; but we do have, like, two couches that all three of us could equally take." Sapphire stated as they began walking over to the door that leads upstairs. "One couch will go to, like, me and Candy, obviously; and you get the other to yourself."
"That sounds like a fair enough compromise to me." Crystal said as the three approached the stairwell's door. "Are we just going to bed the moment we get up there though? I haven't been up in your break-room before; so..."
"We do have a couple totally cool things up there, such as a vending machine, a PlayStation 4, and an arcade machine; but just like everything down here, me and Saph are keeping them unplugged until morning too." Candy explained as she opened the door for her two other friends. "But hey, at least we'll be watching some TV together, if that's totally alright with you, Crystal."
"Eh, that's fine."
"Awesome." Candy then said, as she, Crystal, and Sapphire all began to make their way upstairs.
Despite the fact that things seem to be lightening up for the rebel, the same can't be said for both Chaz and Summer; because after they're date had failed, the two just decided to call it a night and just go back home. Neither of them had said anything to each other throughout the entire car ride home; because, obviously, Chaz was unsure what to even say in regards to everything that had happened, and Summer was still fuming with anger after she was completely humiliated by that stupid rebel and that psychotic ex-boyfriend of hers; even more so, the two didn't even attempt to take a glance at each other even, for the exact same reasons too. Needless to say, this was probably the most silent that one of their car rides have ever been.
Once they got to Summer's house, Chaz pulled up to the right side of the road so that he can drop his girlfriend off there, which was also when he finally broke the silence. "Hey...I'm sorry about what happened back there at the restaurant, babe." The biker told his girlfriend, who was still clearly pissed off.
"My hair, and my once beautiful prom dress...they are both FUCKING RUINED!!!" Summer then snapped, extremely enraged. "ALL I ASK FOR IS ONE FUCKING DATE TO GO WELL FOR ONCE; BUT NO, THAT STUPID FUCKING BITCH JUST HAD TO SHOW UP AND HUMILIATE ME LIKE SHE ALWAYS DOES!!!"
"Chill, babe; I'm pretty sure that it's only an accident on that pink-haired girl's part-"
"I am not talking about that girl, nor her little carrot-loving pest who attacked." Summer interrupts. "I am talking about Crystal; BECAUSE SHE'S THE ONE WHO RUINED OUR DATE!!!"
"Crystal?!" Chaz exclaimed, both confused and aghast. "B-Babe, you can't be serious about this! I didn't even see her in there when we were-"
"She was, because I saw her leave the restaurant with that psychopathic ex-boyfriend of hers; and before she left, she stood there and fucking laughed, taking pictures of me while I was covered in cake batter and fucking bite-marks; and then the stupid bitch flipped me off!" She took a pause, seeing the confused and frightened look on her boyfriend's face, still fuming with anger. "You don't believe me, do you?" The biker remained silent after this was asked, seeming trying to think of how to answer his girlfriend's question; but before he actually could say anything, Summer proceeded to continue talking. "Of course, you don't; and I shouldn't even be surprised knowing how 'cool' and 'awesome' you see her as, when in actuality, she's not..."
"Look, Summer, I get that you're upset about everything that went down back there, I am too; but you can't just start pointing fingers and making baseless claims towards someone who...probably wasn't even involved from the get-go."
"I should've known you were going to take that birch's side on this one..." Summer muttered as she unbuckled her seatbelt, prepared to just end this conversation and leave; but not before relenting so that she can scold her boyfriend about his involvement in the rebel's life. "I can't believe you would ever decide to be friends with such a fucking harlot like her in the first place."
"What the-" Chaz then exclaimed, now getting aggravated by what his girlfriend was dishing out at him and Crystal. "Since when was me being friends with her an issue?!"
"Since the moment I saw her, as well as all the countless times that she's tormented and mocked me and other members of my cheerleading-squad back when we were still in high-school together; and that's not mentioning all the pranks that she's pulled on us on numerous occasions every chance she gets! Do I also need to remind you of what happened back there at the 'Love and Lunch'?!" Summer took a bit of a pause for a second, before letting out a sigh of defeat. "You know what...forget it..." She said more calmly this time. "It was stupid of me to have even agreed to go on this stupid date in the first place..."
"It was only onedate, Summer..." Chaz reassured just as calmly as his girlfriend. "I'm sure our next one would be-"
"There won't be a 'next date' for us anymore, Chaz; because recently, I've been thinking..." Summer interrupts yet again, only to pause mid-sentence on what she was about to say; but after a few seconds of gaining some composure, she finally decided to rip off the bandage. "I...really think we should see other people, Chaz..."
"What?" The biker said, aghast. "Y-You're breaking up with me?!"
"Yes..."
"B-But Summer, I-"
"Look, whatever you have to say, save it; because I really don't want to hear it. I'm just so...done with Crystal treating me like garbage, mocking my favorite hobbies to my face, and doing everything she can to ruin my dates with you-"
"I'LL STOP BEING FRIENDS WITH HER!" Chaz then blurted out, causing his now ex-girlfriend to stop mid-sentence. "Look, I don't know what truly happened that ruined our date tonight, whether Crystal was involved or not; and, I'll admit, I knew you and her had bad blood with each other...but I didn't know it was actually that between you guys..." He then paused for a second to gather his thoughts, before looking at Summer, placing a hand onto hers. "If this is really how bad things are between you two, then...screw it, I'll stop associating with her from here on out, I promise."
As genuine as her ex-boyfriend sound, saying all of this as a desperate plea to stay with her, Summer didn't seem to have been convinced by it. "I'm sorry, Chaz..." She solemnly said. "I'm afraid it's too late for that now."
"Summer, come on..." Without a minute passing her by, the lifeguard exited the car and began making her way up to her front-door, leaving Chaz now completely heartbroken. "Summer..." For the rest of his time in this area, Chaz just watched as his now ex-girlfriend was making her way back into her house; but he didn't stay to watch every single second of it, as the biker heard the sound of lightning roaring off in the distance behind him, signaling for him to go home. 'Oh, fuck my life...' He said in his thoughts as he began driving away.
Note: So, this one was a headache to get completed. It's a long story, but a lot of my personal life was getting in the way when it came to writing this one, including some confusion on how I should structure the chapter paragraph-wise, as well as which character who I should pick for this one. Also, I don't know if one would consider the break-up between Chaz and Summer to be 'rushed', which is personally one of my main worries about this one, but I tried to make it the best that I possibly could.
Anyway, let's see what reviews we have here...
TheBigBunnyBoy: Although I wouldn't say that BeeBee's my favorite character of the game, I couldn't help but add her in here since she seems like one of the easiest characters whom I can write.
lordgemini: Originally, I was going to have James show up instead of Derek, but later chose against it because I felt like Crystal wouldn't need his help after collecting Stacy's photos. Also, since the photo of her being kissed by Crystal, and the fact that her relationship with Goth Boy's already at risk, Yuki probably would've refused to go along with this plan instantly. Although, she did miss quite the shitshow.
Also, let's be honest, the third part of the chapter was the best part of the whole thing; and not to mention that I was nearly cracking up, coming up with ideas as I was writing that whole section. Honestly, I wish I could've added a bit more to that one part.
That's about it for today. Chaz and Summer are broken up, and the storm is already here. I'll see you all next time.
