Scott and Stiles walked to the cafeteria for lunch, having just finished their science class. Their teacher had expected an essay on everything they had learned that year. You would think, for it being the last day of school they would cut them some slack.
"What we learned this year?" Stiles groaned. "I spent most of the year trying to keep a pack of hormonal teens alive. Including myself!"
"We can make it a group project." Scott chuckled.
"Or we can just not do it." Stiles stopped behind Danny in the line for lunch. "What are they going to do? Hold me back? Please I have one of the highest GPAs here."
"Stiles, it's not that big of a deal." Scott muttered. "We only have-"
"4 more hours." Malia cut him off with a disgruntled look, following Allison towards them. "I hope whoever thought school would be a good idea, is burning in hell right now."
"That's a little too…much." Stiles wrapped his arms around her shoulders. "Besides, school wasn't that bad."
"You were just compl-" Scott raised his hand mouthing a silent 'never mind' at the glare he received. "I'm just going to face this way."
"Like I was saying, school had its moments." Although he himself wasn't able to bring up any worth mentioning. "I think."
"Yeah, like when we had to deal with the berserkers, a pack of alphas, kanima, and darachs." Malia numbered them out on her fingers. "Oh, and we can't forget our favorite Auntie Kate."
"Okay, so we did have a few life-threatening situations, but no reason to get all dark and moody." Stiles grumbled. "Scott grab some extra nuggets."
Scott rolled his eyes, but regardless did what he asked for. Grabbing a tray for both him and Stiles, he made sure to fill Stiles's tray first. The boy may be a true alpha, but between himself and his pack, he'd always put them first.
"No reason to get all dark and gloomy?" Malia yelped. "There are a lot of reasons. And not just about school, but how about all the craziness that happened outside school. And they still want us to write what we learned this year?"
"Knock it off you two, just be glad we're here and alive." Scott was sure they would be the first to ever give a wolf a headache.
"Not to mention if things didn't happen the way they did, we wouldn't all be here." Allison chimed in. "Remember many of us are here because of Scott and Derek."
Scott leaned down pecking her on the cheek. "We would have found each other regardless of the situations."
Grabbing both trays he led them towards the pack table. Ever since they formed the pack, they all sat together at the same table. It was an unwritten rule for every other student. The last table in the back was off-limits. Scott sat on the right corner, Allison by his side. Stiles sat across from him with Isaac at his side. With Derek gone, the pup had stuck to Stiles like glue.
Grabbing his tray from Scott, he pushed a few extra nuggets onto Isaac's try. "What are we doing after graduation?"
"I'm going to be throwing a party, so I want all of you there. I am not taking no for an answer." Lydia told them sternly, pointing her spork are each one. "I will sic Jordan on anyone who dares not show up."
"We wouldn't dream of it Lyd." Jackson shivered at the last time Parrish stormed into his home. He and Ethan had been tied together after a passionate moment together. The hell hound was just as traumatized as Jackson was stunned. "Just keep Parrish on a leash."
Lydia bit her lip, trying to stop the chuckle. "It's not like it's something we haven't seen before Jacks. You remember those two." She gestured to Boyd and Erica.
The two deltas showed no embarrassment. It wasn't uncommon for a wolf's instincts to take over. It was a part of what they were. What made them animals. It wasn't the first nor the last time a couple had been caught in the act. Usually, they'd both be in their wolf form, should it happen in a public place.
"Yeah, but they were both fully shifted." Jackson stated. "Ethan and I were not and we were tied."
"Can we talk about something else?" Aiden was not interested in hearing about his brother's sex life. "Anything else."
"Sorry." Lydia chuckled. "Mm, before I forget. I know a few of you don't graduate today, but you are still to show up."
Mason glanced at the others, getting nods from each one. "We'll try and be there."
"It wasn't an offer honey." She took his hand with a scary grin. "It was an order."
Ethan leaned into Mason. "Word of advice, show up."
"Noted."
"Who's coming to watch us?" Allison snatched a nugget from Scott. "That needs some major salt."
Scott shrugged. "Any more salt and it would be unbearable to eat. But mom and Noah are coming."
"My mom and dad are coming...oh and my brother." Kira replied.
"Wait your brother?" Scott frowned. "You never told me you had a brother."
"I never said anything because I don't really know him. Same mother, different father. I meet him once when I was little, but his father took him away." Kira shrugged. "He called mom a few weeks ago and asked if he could stay with her for a few days. He will be arriving today."
"I'm going to ask what no one will." Stiles popped a grape into his mouth. "Is he of the supernatural world and is he cute?"
Kira laughed. "He's a kitsune like me. I haven't seen him in years, so I wouldn't know."
"Hey, Stiles." Theo suddenly appeared, causing the spaz of a human to startle.
"Jesus!" Placing a hand over his chest, he glared at the wolf. "What do you want?"
Theo didn't seem bothered by the disdain in the boy's tone. "Lydia told us about the party tonight."
"Good for you, your name is in the popular pool." He turned his head away, resting it on his palm. "What's that got to do with you talking to me?"
"How about you and I go together." Theo grinned, showing off his canines.
Stiles felt a shiver run up his back and not the good kind. "I already have a date."
"Oh? Who?"
"Why the-"
Scott grabbed the wolf's arm, pulling him away from Stiles. "Derek already warned you to stay away from Stiles. Just because he's gone, doesn't mean you're suddenly allowed to."
Theo chuckled. "Who's going to stop me?" He regretted the words as soon as he saw the red eyes and heard the low growl. Alone he stood no chance against the alpha. "Whatever, I'll see you around Stiles."
"Go fuck yourself." Stiles growled.
"Talk about not getting a hint." Lydia scoffed. "But that's your fault."
Stiles gapped at the banshee. "My fault?! How the hell is it my fault?"
"You led him on." Lydia reprimanded. "You may have not known you were doing it, but then you agreed to date him."
"How was I supposed to know he'd turn into a possessive asshole." Stiles snapped.
"Enough." Scott slammed his hand on the table. "Let's just drop the subject."
Erica glanced around the cafeteria. "You noticed how no one reacted to Scott's outburst?"
Boyd hummed. "They stopped paying attention after freshman year."
Stiles glanced over his shoulder. "Probably think we're in some sort of cult."
"Allison, anyone from your family coming?" He was not about to entertain the idea of others thinking they were in a cult.
"Apart from my dad?" Allison nodded. "My uncle and his daughter."
"And we are sure he isn't insane? Won't go chasing the pack's tails?" Stiles blurted out earning a glare from Scott. "What? Like you weren't thinking the same thing."
Allison just chuckled. "No, if anything he takes the code more seriously than my dad."
The pack let out a sigh of relief. The last thing they needed was another Gerard or Kate Argent. Not to mention Kate was still on the loose with her Berserker pets. That's where the pack have guessed Derek ran off to.
"Stiles." Isaac whispered.
"Hmm?"
"Isn't that the substitute you like?" He shamelessly pointed to the adult, who in return raised a brow.
"Wh-" Pushing Isaac's arm back down, he hid his face. The blush creeping up his neck had the others snickering. "Isaac, you can't say something like that and then point."
"I don't get it." Mason muttered. "What do you see in him?"
"I can't pinpoint it." Stiles sighed. "He's good-looking. I mean have you seen the man without a shirt?"
"Mm, no sorry still don't get it." Mason shrugged.
"Ah, to be young."
Hearing the bell ring they groaned. Stiles made sure they all threw their trash away and placed the trays in a nest pile. Watching them gather their stuff, he led the group out of the cafeteria. Walking down the hallway, the group slowly began thinning out as they passed the classrooms.
Entering the last room of the year or in their case, the last one ever, Malia groaned at seeing it was math.
"I'm biting him." She muttered under her breath glaring at the teacher passing the test.
Stiles shook his head. "Keep those teeth tucked away."
"I hate math." She hissed.
"I hate a lot of things, but you don't see me complaining."
She glanced over her shoulder with a quirked brow. "You complain every chance you get!"
"I voice my opinion." Stiles walked past her, followed by Isaac. "There is a difference."
Standing by the door for a few moments, she exhaled slowly. "Only two hours left."
Stepping out the door of the jet, Hotch stopped to scan the landing strip. His eyes picked up on the slightest movements, while his ears listened for any danger. Seeing the two blacked-out SUVs parked a few feet from them, he finally deemed it safe enough.
"I'm starving." Reid whimpered, catching up to his alpha.
Hotch chuckled. "We'll get some food once we settle."
Dropping his head against Hotch's arm, he peered up at him with his puppy eyes. "Can we get something first?"
These were the moments he hated being an alpha. When it came to the omega, he couldn't deny anything to Reid. The need to care for and protect him was as strong as that of a mate. "Alright." Ruffing his short hair, he motioned at Morgan. "Find a place nearby we can stop and get some food."
"He used the puppy eyes?" Morgan laughed.
"Shut it." Handing Reid his bag, he picked up his, Kate's, and JJ's bags.
Kate carried a sleeping Henry and JJ...well JJ was still having trouble waking up. Derek walked behind Kate carrying both his and Garcia's bag as she talked excitedly. Rossi and Reid walked side by side chatting about the town's history. Hotch took the first SUV tossing the bags in the back.
Morgan took the second putting his and Garcia's bags in the back, followed by Rossi and Reid. Kate buckled up a still sleeping Henry into the car seat before climbing in. Hotch turned to check on his pack. Morgan's car was ready to go. Glancing behind him, he spotted JJ dragging herself still half asleep to the car. He chuckled to himself as he walk up to her, and picked her up.
JJ let out a squeal when she felt herself being lifted. "Hotch!? Put me down!"
"JJ you can barely walk, so I'm taking you to the car, you get some sleep and I will wake you when we arrive." Hotch told her as he set her in the passenger seat. He climbed into the driver's seat, asking Kate for directions to the house.
"Just go straight, on Mires St take a left. Then on Grant take another right. The house will be on the left." Kate muttered, snuggling into the seat just as tired at the blind.
Hotch nodded turning the engine on and leaving the landing.
"But food first?" Reid popped his head between the seats.
"Food first." Hotch glared at the laughing Delta.
Once Reid was satisfied and Hotch no longer had the need to feed him, they made their way to Melissa McCall's home. Thankfully the place wasn't far from them. They arrived in the span of twenty minutes. Parking on the curb in front of a nice two-story house.
Kate jumped out of the car running up to the front door, suddenly forgetting just how tired she was. Knocking-in a rapping mode, only stopping when the door was pulled open.
"Kate!" Melissa squealed pulling Kate into a bone-crushing hug.
"Mel...need to breath."
Melissa released her, as Kate over dramatically gasped for air. "I live with a pack of wolves, that was nothing."
Kate laughed. "How have you been? How's Scott? Anyone new in your life? How's work been? Have you..." Kate was stopped from her rambling by Melissa's hand slapping over her mouth.
"Kate, slow down. I will answer your questions one by one, but first, do you mind telling me who are they?" Melissa asked pointing towards the group standing a few feet behind her sister.
"Right, that's my team. The one I told you about." Kate reminded her.
"The feds." She spotted the tall male standing in front of the others, his eyes landing on her. He had the same look Derek would get. "I have a feeling they're more than just your team."
"They are my pack as well." Kate was worried about how her sister would react. After revealing herself to Melissa, she also told her what she went through with her previous pack.
"That's wonderful Kate." Melissa pulled her into another hug. Once they pulled back, she cupped her little sister's face. "But are you happy with them?"
Glancing over at the group, she nodded. "Yeah."
"Then I'm happy for you." Kissing her on the cheek, she clapped her hands. "Now, I believe introductions are in order."
"Of course, this is our alpha Aaron Hotchner." She gestured to the tall dark-haired male with a light beard. "These are Derek Morgan and his mate Garcia Penelope."
Melissa smiled at the bubbly blond dressed in a bright yellow summer dress, before looking at the buffed dark-skinned man beside her. 'Reminds me of Derek. He would give Derek a run for his money.' Mellissa thought.
"David Rossi and Spencer Reid." She can tell the oldest of the two was Italian. She was sure to have heard his name before but was unable to place where. Spencer looked no much older than his early twenties 'Too young to be seeing the horrors of this world' she thought with a grim smile.
"And last but not least this is Jennifer, aka JJ, and her 10-year-old son Henry." Melissa grinned at the sleepy blond who was currently leaning against her boss and a very attentive boy on her hip.
"Well, I'm Melissa McCall, Kate's sister." She was aware they already knew that but what the hell. "Now how about you all come in and get some rest. I was just making lunch. We can talk while we wait for 4:00 to come around, sound good?"
"That will be perfect, and thank you." Hotch stepped aside letting the pack go in before him.
"No thanks needed agent Hotchner, it's my pleasure." She assured him.
"Please call me Aaron."
"Only if you call me Melissa."
"Very well, shall we go in?" Hotch asked.
"Yes, let's." Melissa smiled. She stepped aside to let him, but he bowed down a little swinging his arm in front of him.
"Ladies first." Hotch said. Smiling even wider when he saw her blush, quietly saying a thank you. As he walked in he felt the hair on his back rise. He quickly turned around searching the area, eyes glowing gray. Morgan came back out his smile dropping once he saw Hotch.
"What wrong?" Morgan asked ready for Hotch's orders.
"Nothing just had a feeling of being watched." Hotch said changing his eyes back to his normal dark brown. He placed a hand on Morgan's shoulder steering him back inside the house.
"Everything okay?" Garcia asked from her seat on the couch.
"Of course baby girl. You just know how Hotch just likes to make sure the area is safe." Morgan said taking a seat by her and wrapping a hand around her shoulder. Laughing when Hotch gave an annoyed growl. Kate and Melissa walked back in from the kitchen each holding a tray with mugs of coffee.
"Thank you I need that badly." Spencer moaned after taking a sip of the creamy coffee, much to Melissa's amusement. "Hotch wouldn't let me get one at the dinner."
"You don't need the caffeine." Hotch muttered. "It does nothing for you."
"It gives me the burst of energy I need." Reid grumbled.
Hotch raised a brow. "You're a wolf. How much more energy do you need?"
"You remind me a lot of stiles." She said laughing.
"What's a Stiles?" Morgan asked
"He's my stepson, he's addicted to coffee. Just like his father." She explained.
"Kate told us about your son Scott, being a wolf." Rossi said from his spot next to Hotch.
"Yeah, he was bitten about two years ago." She turned to Kate. "So much has happened during that time."
"We have time until 4." Hotch glanced at his watch. "That is if you don't mind telling us?"
"No, not at all, I suppose you'd also like to know whose territory you're stepping into." Melissa asked to which Hotch nodded. "Okay then sit."
For the past two hours, Melissa explained everything from the moment she found out about Scott to the attack in Mexico. She also explained who Chris and who else knew about the pack or supernatural in general.
"And as of now, they don't know where Derek is." Melissa finished taking a sip of her now-cold coffee. "He took Braeden and his sister Cora with him. The pack thinks they may have gone after Argent."
"So Scotty is a true alpha?" Kate asked surprised.
"Yup" Melissa said popping the 'p'.
"And yet he isn't the pack's alpha?"
"Nope."
"How is that even possible? I mean he's stronger than Derek, right? That would make sense." Kate was really confused.
"Most of the time it has nothing to do with the strength of the alpha, but the trust and loyalty. Derek is older and a born wolf which gives him an advantage. Plus I honestly don't think Scott is strong enough to take on his alpha. Not yet anyway. Another advantage Derek has is being a Hale. This is his territory and as long as he's alive this will continue being the Hale's." Hotch told explained. "Talia made sure Beacon Hills would always be protected by a Hale."
"How many are in the pack?" JJ asked from the kitchen where she was feeding Henry some soup Melissa had given her.
"Hmm... let me see. There's Scott, Allison, Malia, Stiles, Lydia, Jackson, Liam, Mason, Isaac, Kira, Danny, Ethan, Aiden, Hayden, Corey, Jordan, Boyd, and Erica." Melissa spoke the names out loud, counting them on her finger. "There is also Peter, Cora, and Derek. That's-"
"22." Reid blurted out.
"That's a pretty big pack." Garcia mumbled looking worried at Hotch. Who at the point looked lost in thought.
"Scott and the others wouldn't dare harm any of you." Melissa reassured her. "Especially Kate's pack."
Rossi noticed the distant look on his friend's face. He nudged Hotch pulling him out of his thoughts. "You okay?"
Hotch nodded giving him a look that said 'I'll tell you later'. Rossi nodded before taking his attention back to the group. Hotch, on the other hand, was at a loss. At some point, he had moved closer to the stairs, where he picked up an intriguing scent. It reminded him of the ocean's breeze after a rainy night. The scent tried enticing him to run up the stairs and roll around in the scent. Opening his mouth to speak, he was shocked to find himself watering. His pants became strained against him, at his growing erection.
'All this from only a scent.'
