Another Beginning
Chapter 4
"Ew?" said Kim
"Fuck, you look horrible!" said Bonnie
"Yes, it wasn't a pretty sight. My powers around my brain help my mind from going insane like the other survivors. Wade tried to convince me to replace my body with these cybernetics, but I refused and ended up in a fully automatic chair after a while. I spoke through one of those Steven Hawkins-type machines that were now my eyes and ears, I knew I was dying, and Wade knew it as well, but no one knew how long I had," said Mai
"How long did you live for?" asked Bonnie
"I was the longest! And the only fully human left alive by then, I was placed into that chair thirty years before I died. The chair kept me alive until my flesh died," said Mai
"When you became an AI," said Kim.
"Yes, before I was placed in that chair, I started secretly working on the Lorwardian technology in my secret lair in Yellowstone national park. I invented many gadgets before I realized just how bad Wade and his friends were getting. I decided I needed a spaceship to remove my invention from Wade's reach. The first invention I created was my time travel device, with my Interdimensional travel device a few weeks later. I wanted to see if I could heal my world and its people first, and I needed to find new technology to help me do it. Using this technology, I traveled to different dimensions before being placed in a wheelchair to find the help I wanted. I quickly learned that I couldn't leave my dimensions or go to a different timeline with the disease still running through my blood system," said Mai
"Why was that?" asked Bonnie
"Because he would have spread the plague!" said Kim
"Oh, hope you didn't?" said Bonnie
"I had mistakenly started the plague in one dimension and had to send one of my androids back with the cure. I couldn't let that happen again, so I put a plague block on all my inventions, stopping anyone with the plague in their system from going to any dimension or time by using any of my technology without me knowing," said Mai
"That's the best way to prevent that from happening again. What about Wade Cyborg friends?" said Kim
"I had a plan for them as well. Because I could no longer use my own body, I created and built a human android to travel to another dimension to find clean genetic materials to help me recreate a new body. This failed as soon as the material entered my dimension, and I lost all hope in fixing this world. Next, I invented the ability to transfer my conscience memory into a database within my lab, another door open for me. I had secretly invented the first resurrection technology that allowed me to transfer my memory when my flesh body died. Gladly Wade and his friends still had no idea about my new technology," said Mai
"Wouldn't that be the same as this Wade?" asked Bonnie.
"No, Cyborg Wade was built around his flesh. The android was all robot," said Mai
"With your memories?" said Bonnie
"Yes, no flesh," said Mai, and Bonnie understood.
"I would hate to see what he would have done if he had hold of it," said Kim
"That would have been one perspective I didn't want to see," said Mai
"So that is how you resurrected us?" said Bonnie
"Yes and no, I spent years testing it, transferring my conscious memory into the computer core, then in my androids that I built. As far as Wade and the other Cyborgs were concerned, they were just my fancy robots, and they usually never worried about them. What they never worked out that these androids were actually me walking around in their labs. Then I discovered some alarming secrets they were keeping from me. During one of these trips to Wade's labs to get supplies, one of my androids was destroyed. Wade brought it back and dumped it on the floor of my lab, telling me that I must be careful where I program them to go. It wasn't until I checked my recovered memory from the android that I discovered the truth. I had walked into one of Wade's offices hoping to spy on him with the android, but he saw the android and blasted it with a plasma gun he was showing off to others. Not before I heard Wade and his cyborg friends planning to take over the world when I died. So from that point on, I made plans to stop them," said Mai
"Wade wanted to take over the universe?" said Kim
"Why would he do that?" said Bonnie
"As I said, my Wade had become insane and was already head of what was once called America. If it wasn't for my mystical powers, I might have gone insane as well and joined him," said Mai
"So what did you do?" said Bonnie
"I sabotaged most of their work and drew up a plan of my own. For this to work, I needed to go to my planet's last bankers to help me build the biggest ship my world had ever seen at the time. My world was running out of resources fast, and I had to move quickly. I told them and Wade that we needed to build this spaceship to explore the solar system to find resources to keep this world alive. Even to find a planet that may give the survivors new hope," said Mai
"And they all agreed," said Bonnie
"After a long argument, if I failed! It would mean the destruction of their world. Most of the survivors of my world were no longer sentient and had lost the ability to think past logic. Wade just wanted to use my ship for his own needs. So he convinced, or should I say, forced them to agree to fund my project. Wade still had some of his brain wired in his head, but as clouded as it was, he still realized the ship might be what he needed to take that next step," said Mai.
"To take over the universe?" said Kim
"Yes, I was sad that my old friend was going down that road, but there was nothing I could do to change that. All of humanity in my world was no longer human, and I feared for the universe at hand if they came together and managed to get off this world, so I had to stop them. The resources the backers finally gave me were enough to build the biggest spaceship my world had ever seen. The spacecraft I had managed to build started at 500 meters wide, 200 meters high, and 2400 meters long," said Mai.
"How did you get it to be this big?" asked Kim
"Over many lifetimes and hundreds of dimensions. I hard-wired all my inventions into the ship's computers to hide them from Wade and his friends. My time and interdimensional devices, resurrection technology, my androids, nanobots, and microbot were hidden inside the ship. I then downloaded the history of my world and all it had invented until then. It had taken me over twenty years by the time I was finished. I had to secretly add my newest androids with my CPUs after discovering that Wade had placed one of his corrupt CPUs inside the ship. So I created some very special nanobots and microbots to make sure this didn't happen a second time before the launch," said Mai
"I believe it, and my Wade was just as crafty. Did you manage to get my Wade's conscience?" said Kim.
"Yes, he is in my computer banks. It was very pleasing to see a sane Wade in this dimension. To continue, I created very special and modified miniature microbots smaller than a human cell for my resurrection programs. Their programming was twofold. First, they were to enter any electronics to make them safe. Next, they were to help my younger self and his friends to resurrect into new bodies if something happens," said Mai
"So that's how you did it?" asked Bonnie,
"I had to protect all of my inventions from Wade. These microbots become part of the ship and computers," said Mai, and he showed them the magnified version of the inside of his computers. They all saw the keyboards moving, like billions upon billion of little fleas moving around. "These find and destroy any corrupt electronic device Wade, and his friends may have tried to place in the ship. After placing all of the records of my past life inside the ship's main computers and calculating moments in time that needed to change my life and save my world. After that fail, I decided to use this information to help change your world instead," said Mai
"Change our world? How?" asked Kim.
"That was the easy part, first was the destruction of Camp Wannaweep. It was the main cause of my childhood fears," said Mia
"I remember that? I was supposed to spend some time at that Camp Wannaweep for my first summer camp. Mum said it was because it was closer, but I also believe that it was cheaper," said Ron
"That would have been one of the reasons? I believe they didn't want to spend any of their money on us. It would have killed them to spend any money," said Mia
"So what did you do to the camp?" said Bonnie
"Officially, Due to several lightning strikes, bush fires flared up and destroyed the camp. It was so hot that the fires melted everything within the camp. Scientists were scratching their heads over the fact that just the camp and the forest area around the camp were wiped out. They believe the fire was coursed by several lightning strikes far bigger than any lightning they knew. If their calculations were right, the base of each strike was at least 10 meters wide," said Ron, and Mai smiled.
"What did you do, Mai?" asked Kim.
"After using my scanners on the camp, I discovered a concentration of unknown flammable chemicals that were toxic to the human body being stored at the camp. The camp owners used the camp as a dumping ground for extra cash and didn't care for the children's well-being. After detecting a dry storm over the camp. I used that as fuel and started the inferno with a few laser blasts during the off-season storm before Ron was due to attend the camp," said Mia
"No wonder the firefighters said they saw a fire monster devouring everything in the site, all types of metal melted in the heat to leave nothing but powdery ash," said Kim
"How did you know that?" asked Bonnie
"Dad was one of the science investigators at the time and did nothing but talk about it every day. Dad also told us that the wildlife officers found the camp's mascot a few weeks after the fire. The poor thing was running around the forest, scared and badly burnt. They named him Bobo, and if I remember, he ended up living in a zoo being looked after around the clock by vets," said Kim
"Then which camp did you go to?" asked Bonnie
"The one I went to," said Tara
"You two went to the same camp?" said Kim
"Oh yeah, she helped me with my sport and swimming classes," said Ron
"Then how is it that you never said anything before?" asked Bonnie
"It was only for a few weeks, and we didn't see each other after that until we started high school," said Tara
"So with these steps, you changed Ron's life?" said Kim to Mai
