Another Beginning
Chapter 5
"Yes, I did many things to help his future self. Extra kung fu classes, weapons training, and even help him to save those idols from being destroyed when the time was right," said Mai.
"You did? Where are they now?" said Kim
"On this ship, but before we get completely off track, Mai needs to continue his story, so I can tell you mine," said Ron
"Okay! But I want to know about everything you stole?" said Kim, realizing it was no hope of returning them now.
"Replaced!" said Ron
"The museums and owners of the item that were stolen, all received a harmless copy of the item," said Tara
"Whatever," said Kim
"Just before launch, I had to program this ship to seek out all and any advanced technology from the many dimensions I programmed into the computers. From human to alien, this ship grew with each new technology. I knew this was the only way I could survive without spreading the virus to other worlds or the past. I wanted to repair the damage caused by my Kim, but there lies the problem, if I change my past, then my brilliance may not have existed when I needed it," said Mai
"And if that didn't exist, then your world would have died when those aliens invaded," said Kim
"Then we would have died as well!" said Tara
"That is something to think about?" said Bonnie
"So what happened to your world before you left it? Did you change it?" asked Kim,
"No, it wasn't worth the risk. I decided to leave it as it was. On the day of the launch, everything went perfectly to plan. Wade and I watched the automatic spaceship climb into space," said Mai as he played a launch video.
"If you told me seventy years ago that you would! One day design and build your very own spaceship. I would have thought you were dreaming. But here you are, launching Earth's first deep space exploration vehicle," said Wade
"It's more than that, Wade! It is Earth's last chance to find resources and new worlds where we can start over again," said Ron
"It is a pity that our flesh couldn't leave with this ship?" said Wade
"Kim had designed that all flesh on this world would carry that plague, even if they had an antidote. I hope it will disappear from our systems one day, " Ron said. While Wade watched the rocket climb into space, he noticed Ron slumped in his chair.
"Ron?" he looked at him. Then Ron's robotic nurse checked his vitals.
"Ron Stoppable is dead at the age of Eighty," it said and recorded. Wade smiled as he watched the spaceship fly into space.
"Any minute now, your ship would be mine, fool," said Cyborg Wade
Soon the ship was set to pass the moon. It was at this moment that the video stopped, and Mai reappeared. "What Wade didn't know at the very moment that my flesh died, my conscience memory was transferred into my lab computers. A copy was then sent to this ship in seconds. It was then that I fired my most precious secret that I required from another dimension, the ship's new stardrive engines. I fired them just as the ship past the moon and pushed the ship quickly into deep space. A few seconds later, Wade and his friends lost contact with the ship as I cut off the ship signal," said Mai
"So why did Wade say that when you died?" asked Kim
"He tried to plant another one of his CPUs in the ship, but my defense protocol nanobots discovered them before the launch and destroyed all of them. Then I started the next stage of my plan to stop Wade and his friends. A few microseconds before the ship jumped out of the solar system, my conscience in my lab computers started a chain reaction in all the volcano's around the world. Every single volcano in the world blew as a mega antimatter nuclear bomb in each one of them exploded deep inside their cores, sending shock waves through every continental fault around the world. Major earthquakes destroyed many of the world's cities, including Yellowstone national park. This was where I had my main secret laboratories and all my secrets. It was the last to blow—triggering a new bomb I had developed from another dimension. When this bomb exploded, my planet began ripping itself apart until it blew up in a fireball. I may have failed to change the past, but I was not going to leave my Earth and the universe in the hands of Wade and his Cyborg friends,"
"You destroyed your planet?" said Kim with more tears in her eyes.
"Sadly, my world was already dead. I just finished what was started a long time ago," said Mai
"How did you make these bodies if you couldn't take flesh from your world?" asked Bonnie
"Did your mother tell you what happened when you all were born in Middleton Hospital in 1988?" Asked Mai
"Yes! Mum told me that the day I was born, a terrible mosquito plague hit the town of Go-city and every hospital in the tri-city region. She said that the bites weren't that painful," said Kim
"I heard about that!" said Bonnie. "No one knew where they came from or what happened to them after, but no one had shown any ill effect or disease from the bites,"
"Those mosquitoes were my nanobots. They were carrying millions of my microbots that were implanted within you. They first inject everyone with a little local anesthetic before injecting the small microbots into everyone's bloodstream. I then programmed them to draw some blood and collect DNA from their targets. Everyone in Go-city and the tri-city area were selected. Then I used your DNA and some of my technology, including Ancient, Cylon, and Asgard technology, to clone your new bodies. While the Microbots recorded and stored your memories, I was preparing your new bodies in the chambers you woke from," said Mai
"I see," said Bonnie. "So when we were killed, our memories downloaded into this ship?"
"That is right," said Mai
"Well, that seems simple enough. What about after we were born? Couldn't you save the newborn babies?" asked Kim.
"I was still gathering the newborn babies' blood and DNA samples until an hour before the war started, leaving my microbots in their bloodstream. But not in swarm form as I did on your birthday. Sadly for those who were born on the hour of the attack, I can not do anything for the babies as they had no conscience memory to save," said Mai
"But couldn't you clone a new body for them?" asked Kim
"Yes, even if the microbots and nanobots were destroyed, I can still create a body from the DNA I gathered," said Mai
"So they are not lost," said Tara
"No, they would be just like any other human baby," said Mai
"So why do Ron and Tara call you Mia?" asked Kim
"Well, it would be silly calling me Ron while your Ron is here, so they called me Mai after my project name, Microscopic Artificial Intelligent," said Mai
"Okay, so what happened after you blew up your world?" asked Bonnie
"I spent several hundred thousand human lifetimes searching for and finding human and alien advanced technology that I could use to prepare all of you for survival. As I visited each dimension and timeline, the ship grew bigger," said Mai
"How did you work out which dimensions to visit?" asked Kim
"Believe it or not, every dimension has a baseline where the past is the same. There was a time in all dimensions when everything is the same. This we call cannon, before the point where the timeline change," said Mai.
"Okay, now understand," said Kim
"Every time I come to a timeline, I go back or forward to find the change. Sometimes some very random timelines are handed to you," said Mai
"Okay, even I understand that, " said Bonnie
"There was one prize I found that helped me to improve my resurrection technology. Well, it was more of an accident than a finding. I came across this huge spaceship traveling under the speed of light in this one dimension. Its computer technology was not as advanced as mine, but it did have a more advanced resurrection technology than I did," said Mai
"Was there anyone on this ship?" asked Kim.
"Not alive. I first had to enter the ship, and I did that by firing one of my Microbot-filled missiles at the side of the ship. Before you say anything, the missile is very small and has no explosive charge. When the nose of the missiles breaks apart on impact, my microbots enter the ship and head for its computer systems to shut them down so I can enter the ship. These computers were very primitive, and I wondered how they used them for space travel. It only took me minutes to take control of the ship and to find their story of the ship and how it became floating in space. It involved around thirteen tribes of people who called themselves Kobolian. Depending where on the timeline you came in and what you do on that timeline. You get either a new beginning or a new end. Interestingly, their story was the same repeating destruction of their society. First, it was Kobol! And then their Earth, and then their colonies. The ship I found was called the hub, and it belonged to the thirteenth tribe, who settled on a planet they called Earth," said Mai
"Was it our Earth?" asked Bonnie.
"No, I backtracked their route and found their Earth, nowhere near this Earth. I did find five conscience memories in the ship's computers. They were the last of what was left of the Kobolian Thirteenth Tribe," said Mai
"Left?" asked Kim
"Yes," said Mai, as Tara came and sat with the girls with a large plate of food. "Their story goes that these people had left Kobol to build a new society," said Mai
"Why did they leave Kobol?" asked Kim
"Pretty much the same story, the other twelve tribes rejected them because they were created from Cylon robots," said Mai
"Like Alpha?" asked Bonnie
"No! they were the primitive creation of the first humans. I evolved from them," said Alpha, who was very annoyed.
