Chapter 9
Timon stayed hidden as he stared in shock at Sam running away, not sure what to do. He waited and quickly dropped to the ground when he saw the guards coming back carrying a limp Sam between them. He had to fight his natural urges to attack and tear up the men who were carrying Sam off. The only thing stopping him from following through, was the very clear order to keep this a surveillance mission Only, so that possible rescue of their loved ones wouldn't be jeopardized. He reasoned that Sam knew what he was doing by providing the distraction and vowed not to waste Sam's voluntary surrender of his freedom to improve the odds for the mission's success.
This was not good, and he needed to get back to Dean and let him know what had happened. He just hoped that Dean wouldn't take Sam's capture out on him. After the guards carried Sam inside, he eased from his hiding place and hurried back to his car and drove away before anyone came to check the road out for a vehicle.
Once Timon was away from the facility, he pressed harder on the gas as he ran through his mind what he was going to tell Dean about what Sam did. He didn't think he was going to take it very well and was preparing himself for the backlash.
The Impala was parked in front of the brother's room as Timon swerved into the parking lot and came to a screeching halt in a parking space. He gathered the things Sam had given him and hurried to the door, knocking loudly and frantically.
"What the hell?" Dean growled when he opened the door and Timon rushed past him looking to Lucian for a moment with fear in his eyes. "Where's Sammy?" Dean questioned, looking around outside and slowly turning to glare at Timon as his eyes flashed a deadly warning.
"I couldn't stop him," Timon started in a shaky voice. "We must have tripped some type of motion alarm in the woods when we were going around the building. Guards came out and Sam shoved these things into my hands and took off running to lead them away…." Timon's voice died away as he faced Dean and saw the darkness starting show on his face.
Dean looked at the things Timon held out to him, seeing Sam's cell, gun, and wallet. He didn't offer to take them as his body stiffened and his hands clenched into fists.
"Wanna finish your story?" Dean stated in a low, menacing voice that spoke volumes.
"I saw the guards carrying him out of the woods and into the building. He looked unconscious," Timon whispered as he looked to the floor in shame. "I wanted to stop them, to rescue Sam," Timon continued looking up at Dean seeing the rage in his eyes. "But I knew it wouldn't do any good to get captured myself or alert the kidnappers that we had found them. I didn't want Sam's sacrifice to be in vain," he finished in a strong voice. "I think Sam would have wanted that. He gave me the chance to get back to you with what we found."
"Sonovabitch!" Dean growled out in anger. He stood taller and his nostrils flared as the words sunk in. His brother had been captured. He drew his upper lip into a sneer as he started to speak but stopped when the cell in Timon's hand begin to ring almost making him drop it. Dean snatched the device from his hand and looked at it for a moment before answering it.
"Hello," said Dean in a gruff voice.
"Wait, who is this?" a confused female voice asked.
"Who are you?" Dean asked in a curt voice.
"I know I dialed the right number, where's Sam and why do you have his cell?" Charlie questioned. "You better not have hurt him or you're going to be answering to me. And believe me you don't want me as your enemy. I can make your life a living hell."
"Hold on, you don't need to make threats, I'm Dean, I'm…" Dean started only to be cut off by Charlie's excited voice.
"Dean, as in big brother Dean? Wow, nice to meet you, well, not exactly meet you but you know what I mean. I'm Charlie, a friend of Sam's from college. He contacted me to get some documentation, but I guess you know that part, silly me. Sam talked about you some, but I have to say he was always sad when he did. It was like he lost someone he loved. I don't know what happened between you two, but I'm glad you've made up. Can I talk to him?" Charlie rattled out.
"That's the thing, he's not here. Listen Charlie, I'm going to need your help to save my brother…."
"Save? What's happened. Look, I'm coming to you anyway. I'm less than an hour away. Don't do anything until I get there," Charlie insisted in a rushed voice.
"How do you know where I am?" Dean inquired.
"Duh…Ever hear of tracking programs? It's pretty easy with a cell. Stay cool, I'll be seeing you shortly. And you're going to want to see what I found."
Before Dean could say anything else, the connection ended. He pulled the cell away from his ear and stared at it for a moment as he tried to digest what just happened. Sam's friend was coming here…Because she tracked his cell…Who was this girl? He stood in the middle of the room almost in a trance until Lucian spoke to him.
"Dean, are you okay?" Lucian asked carefully not wanting to irritate him further.
"That was Charlie, Sam's friend. She's coming here," Dean stated breaking from his thoughts. "Okay, tell me everything," he addressed Timon as he stepped toward him making Timon step back away from.
"There are pictures of the facility on Sam's cell. I'm sure it's the place. It's guarded by heavily armed men and there's an eight-foot fence surrounding the place with barbed wire along the top. We found one entrance with a guardhouse at the front. It was manned by two guards why we were there and there's a backdoor, but I don't know if you can break into it."
"Okay, I'll download the photos and see what we've got. I'm going in there tonight to get my brother and hope they don't have time to hurt him. Once he's safe, I'll see if there are others being held there." Dean took a seat at the table and grabbed Sam's computer bag to rummage in until he found a cable to use. He plugged it into the cell and the other end into a USB port on the computer and went through the steps of downloads the photos.
"If you're going, I'm going too," Lucian declared in a stern voice as he sat at the table. "I'm finding my brother and anyone else that is being held captive there."
"Me too. Sam protected me out there and I'm not deserting him," Timon agreed taking a seat too, but couldn't help wrinkling his nose at the smell of being so close to a werewolf. The heavy aroma of dog permeated the air. At least he hadn't taken a shower that would only make it worse.
Lucian pinched his lips together as he tried to hold his breath when the smell of the vampire assaulted his senses. A bloody carrion smell made him cough lightly, but it was different than what he remembered from the only other vampire he had met. Maybe it was because he didn't drink human blood, he was sure, but pushed those thoughts aside as Dean pulled the pics up on the laptop screen.
"Yeah, Sammy's right, a lot of fire power for this place to have guarding it," Dean mumbled as he clicked through the shots, pausing on ones that interested him. His mind was already working on a plan to break into the place and rescue who he could, but his brother came first for him. God help anyone who hurt his brother because they would be answering to him and would not be walking away from this.

All three froze for a moment when knocking sounded at the door. Dean got up and went to the door, opening it enough to look out. He saw a short, red headed woman who looked Sam's age standing there studying the Impala. She turned when the door opened and smiled at Dean.
"Hey there, I'm Charlie," she introduced herself. "Are you going to let me in or what?"
"Sorry, yeah, come on in," Dean replied not sure how to take her. "I'm Dean."
"Good to put a face with a voice and name. Wow! Did you and Sam get fed Miracle Gro when you were kids?" she asked in her perky voice as she bounce into the room. "Is that your ride out there? That black beauty?"
"Ummm…No," Dean answered closing and locking the door behind her. "And yes, that's my car."
"Oh, hello, are you family?" she asked Lucian and Timon.
"No, the brothers are helping us find our loved ones that are missing," Lucian answered standing and nodding toward Charlie. "I'm Lucian and that is Timon."
"So, both of you have missing people. Okay I'm a little confused here," she conceded. "Because what I found is not something I understand nor am actually sure what I'm seeing."
"Why don't you show us?" Dean suggested walking over to stand behind Charlie as she took a seat at the table.
"Okay, let me get my laptop turned on." Charlie pulled it from a bag and booted it up before quickly typing commands and prompts until a screen popped up that showed what looked like an examination room or operating room.
Dean leaned closer and frowned as he watched people in white scrubs and masks doing something to a male strapped to a table. He sucked in a sharp breath when the male began to transform into a werewolf and almost break out of its restrains but he was sedated, and the video ended.
Charlie started another video that showed men dressed like guards torturing another creature with what looked like cattle prods. It seemed they were enjoying inflicting pain on the guy who could not fight back because he was chained. Dean saw fangs drop down in the guy's mouth and was sure he was a vampire. He stopped the recording because he had seen enough. Lucian growled angrily behind him and knew how he felt. The guards were just as guilty as the doctors were.
"I've done some role playing and cosplay and I'm hip on a lot of things, but if I didn't know better, I thought that guy turned into a werewolf and the other had really strange looking teeth," Charlie told Dean as she looked up at him. She was surprised that he wasn't shocked or surprised by what he saw. She looked to the other two seeing anger and something else she couldn't identify.
"Do you know him?" Dean asked Lucian without commenting on what Charlie said.
"No," Lucian replied in an angry growl.
"Charlie, can you get blueprints for a building?" Dean asked her.
"Usually."
"I need you to find out all you can on this place," Dean told her handing her papers of the place that Sam and Timon had investigated.
Charlie accepted the papers and scanned them before changing screens and typing furiously.
"Is this where Sam is?"
"Yeah, he got captured while trying to scope the place out and I'm going to get him out of there tonight."
"I know you're not telling me something, so you might as well lay it on me. I'm too deep into this to let it go," Charlie stated.
"You don't want to know," Dean explained. "It would change your life forever."
"Please, I've heard everything. I believe in magic and stuff, and I know there's more in this world than we know about."
"I really don't…"
"Do you want my help or not? I want to help Sam and I don't do anything without knowing what I'm up against."
Dean drew in a deep breath as he closed his eyes and dropped his head trying to decide what to do. He was torn with telling her about the supernatural and keeping her in the dark. How would Sam react if he told her, Dean thought.
"When are we going after Sam?"
"Oh, sister, there is no we here. What me and the others are going to do is dangerous and someone could get hurt or even worse killed."
"If what I saw is really happening there and I think it is. It's not right and needs to be stopped. Do you know how to load a program onto their servers? Or hack their security cameras, or open electronic locked doors?"
"You don't know what you're asking kid," Dean insisted in a pained voice. He didn't know if he could do this to her.
"And you don't know me. Not much scares me, and I can take care of myself if I need to. Sam is my friend and I want to help him whether you think I should or not. So, what is it going to be?" she asked crossing her arms over her chest and glaring at him, waiting for an answer.
Dean ran a hand down his face knowing he needed her help and didn't see any way around not telling her the truth. Whether she believed him or not was another story.
"Okay, fine!" Dean conceded. "You want to know the truth. Yeah, that was a werewolf you saw on that video and from it, I think whoever those people are, they're experimenting on him."
"Are you for real?" Charlie asked intrigued to know more as she leaned forward.
"Yes, Sammy and I are hunters, and we hunt supernatural creatures who threaten or kill humans."
"Cool," Charlie mumbled before looking at Lucian and Timon with curious eyes. "Are you…" she started not sure what to ask.
"I'm a werewolf," Lucian told her with a slight bow of his head and offered her a gentle smile.
"And I'm a vampire," Timon added nodding to her.
Charlie's eyes widened in surprise as her mouth sagged open for a moment before she clamped it shut. She was about to say something when Dean interrupted her.
"Now that that's out of the way, can you help or not?" Dean questioned not wanting to dwell on the subject any longer.
"Give me a little time and I'll find everything I can," Charlie replied as she typed and scanned the screen.
"Why don't I go get some lunch for us and why don't you guys go relax? We're leaving here at one am tonight putting us at the facility around two am. I figure that will be the time that the least amount of people will be there and hopefully fewer guards. Why don't you come back around ten and we'll go over what Charlie has found so we can go over the plan."
"Alright," they said together, getting up to leave. Timon let Lucian take the lead and followed him out of the room, separating outside to go to their own rooms. Lucian was going to report back to his father and Timon was going to call Esme's family.
"Red, what'll you have?" Dean asked after the others had left.
"Burger and fries and a milk shake," she answered without looking up from the screen.
"You know I'm starting to like you," Dean commented as he grabbed the room key and headed from the room. He was going to the diner nearby and hoped Charlie would be able to get what they needed. But one way or the other, he was breaking Sammy out of there tonight before they start experimenting on him.
