AN: Hello, I have the next chapter here. This one focuses on Blake's group with a mission very similar to the end of Volume two. As for the new crossovers, I add one from a newly released game that I have been playing a lot of. As for the other, it is from an anime that will be coming out soon but has been in mainstream media for over a year now because of its hype. I want to make clear these fights are not 'who would win' but 'how I want to story here to be written.' Power levels here are already jumbled, basically a Xenoverse for everyone involved. Chapter 9 – The White Cat and Blood Devil
In the destroyed city, Levi led his team to a massive hole in the middle of the road. "According to our information from the survivors of the attack, a White Fang base is down here."
"Wow, it's so huge!" Zatch said in wonder. "I can't believe there's a city below this city?"
"Must be ancient." Kiyo commented, then had a realization, "Wait, if you found out about this base-"
"Chances are the one attacking the bases also knows about it." Blake added, "We need to warn the base."
"Are you sure we should?" Poney responded, "I mean, isn't the White Fang already the bad guys in this world?"
"That doesn't mean we should leave them to whoever wants to attack their bases," Blake responded.
"Blake's right," Tanjiro added, "And if we warn them, they might be willing to help us find your friends across other bases."
"It's a bit too wishful thinking," Levi said before looking back to Blake, "And you're sure that you can reason with them?" he asked Blake with her nodding, a look of focus in her eyes, "Okay, you will take point with Tanjiro and I coming with as support." The scout captain said before looking to the rest of the team, "The rest can stay up here in case we need to call for backup."
"Understood," Tanjiro said with a nod.
"Cool, I didn't want to go done in that dusty city anyway," Nobara said as she moved over to a large rock, and sit on it. The three then jumped down the hole with the rest and waited, "So, guess we just keep an eye out for any stragglers." She said as the others nodded.
In the underground city, Blake, Levi, and Tanjiro made it to the road before walking again. "I could have just come alone, the rest of you might be in danger if a fight breaks out."
"If they do try to fight, we'll be ready for them." Levi said before looking to Tanjiro, "I'll be counting on your abilities as well, understood?" he said as the boy with the scar stopped with a look of horror on his face, "What is it?"
"I smell blood." Tanjiro said as the others turned to him, "We need to hurry." He said before the group rushed down the road. Eventually, they reached a train yard. But what they found was a massacre. Dozens of white fang bodies were littering the area, their blood pooling over the shattered masks. The boy with a scar had a look of dread, but he turned to Blake, whose expression was of fear, but clenched her fists in anger.
Suddenly, the trio heard gunfire. In turning to the sound, they witnessed White Fang members unable to hit their target. She was a young girl with short white hair with a set of cat ears atop her head. She loosely wore a white jacket that exposed her shoulders, as well as a white skirt and boots over black stockings. In her hands were sent ring blades that radiated greenish-yellow energy as she slashed the White Fang members. Blake's eyes flared as she dashed in, equipping her Gambol Shroud with her cleaver in mid-swing. Suddenly, the girl's white cat ears flickered at the surprise attack, causing her to block the blade with her own. Both glared into each other's eyes, each having a yellowish color to them.
"Why are you attacking them, you're a Faunus too, right?" Blake said before focusing, noticing the bluish gem in this girl's chest above her sleeveless top, "No, you're not from this world." She said before jumping back to avoid a slash, "What are you?"
"It would be closer to call me a Gormotti than a faunus." The girl with white cat ears said before reposing her weapons, "But my name is Mio." She said before Levi and Tanjiro arrived, each readying their weapons, "Look, I mean you no harm, but I need to stop these White Fang members before they-" The white Gormotti before she looked over towards a train, seeing it start to take off, "Oh spark, I don't have time for this!" Mio tried to rush to the train but was blocked by Blake.
"We aren't done asking questions." Blake responded, "Why are you at-"
"Listen!" Mio shouted, "That train is loaded with bombs heading for what you call a Kingdom. If I don't stop it, innocent people will die!"
"What?" Tanjiro gasped.
"How do you know that?" Levi questioned.
"I don't have time to explain right now, but I will afterwards." Mio responded, "Please, trust me!"
"…" Blake focused before looking to the others, "Leave her to me, please go after the train."
"That is not your call to make." Levi responded, but sighed, "But, I'll agree to it this one time." He said before looking to Tanjiro, "Let's go."
"Yes sir," Tanjiro said as he dashed with Levi down the tracks but looked back to Blake in slight worry.
"Thank you," Mio responded, "But, we don't need to fight now."
"I'm sorry, but it has to be this way." Blake said as she reposed her weapons, "I can't take a chance on the train as you say, but I can't let talk your way out of what you did to this base."
"I tried to reason with them, but their admin would not lis-" Mio said before Blake shot her pistol at her, causing Mio to block with her ring-blades, "And it seems like neither will you." The white Gormotti said with a focused gaze. "I meant what I said before, I mean you no harm. However, that doesn't mean I won't fight back!" The feline fighters then rushed toward each other for combat.
Down the track, Levi and Tanjiro ran to the train, jumping onto its rear cart as its road down the tunnel. They looked at a panel atop the cart, grabbing it together. In removing it, they discovered a massive device with a timer, "So, there are the bombs." Levi commented.
"Why are they on the train?" Tanjiro asked before the rear cart detached, causing the two to run to the next cart, "I don't understand." He said while watching the back cart slow down before blowing up.
"I do," Levi responded, "This train seems to be heading back towards Vale. If they blow these carts in certain spots, it could cause all kinds of monsters to flood into the kingdom through the holes." He said with him equipping his thunder spears, "We need to blow these up before they reach their destination." Levi said before he a volley of gunfire was shot their way, causing him and Tanjiro to duck. He looked down to the train to see a paladin mech atop one of the carts down the train. "Tsk, we won't reach the front of the train fast enough going through the top." Levi responded, "Go through carts and stop the train that way."
"What about you?" Blake added, "You can't fight that thing alone."
"I'm not going to repeat myself." Levi ordered, "Move it," he said with Tanjiro nodding, causing him to leap off the side of the cart and jump through a window. In seeing the moment. The scout captain then stabbed the top of his cart near the bomb with a thunder spear, then dashed towards the paladin.
Inside the train, Tanjiro continued to run through the carts before encountering someone. He was a massive White Fang admin holding chainsaw, "I will not let you stop our mission." The White Fang Admin spoke before starting his chainsaw, causing Tanjiro to repose his katana, "You will die here, human!"
"Water breathing, Fourth Form," Tanjiro said as he dashed in with a rush down of aqua slashes, "Striking Tide!" he said while slashing into the white fang admin's body, dodging each chainsaw slash.
However, the White Fang admin then reached out and grabbed Tanjiro's body his face. The boy with the scar gasped before he was slammed into the floor of the train, denting the metal. The White Fang admin then tossed him over his body before lining up Tanjiro's neck with the chainsaw.
"Tsk, Sixth Form," Tanjiro said as his body spun, clashing his sword with the chainsaw, "Whirlpool!" he said as the water flow clashed with the rotation of the chains, but the chainsaw was overpowered and shattered.
"Why you!" The White Fang admin then used both his hands to grab Tanjiro's body, preventing him from using the sword, "If I can't cut you to bits, I will crush you instead!"
"AAAAAHHHH!" Tanjiro screamed as his bones started to crack, causing the White Fang admin to chuckle. However, the boy with the scar gritted his teeth as he pulled his head back. In one thrust, his skull bashed the White Fang admin, shattering the mask as he fell backward. Tanjiro was freed of his grip, realizing his opponent was now unconscious on the floor. Tanjiro was about to continue down the carts but looked back to the White Fang admin in worry.
Meanwhile.
On the surface, Kiyo and Nobara watched as Zatch and Poney sparred, "Welp, I'm bored." The hammer sorcerous said as had her right hand on her chin.
"You're the one who was happy to stay up here," Kiyo responded.
"Yeah, but I would still want to see some action." Nobara said before hearing a roar to her left, "Well, looks like more Grimm are heading here." She said before readying her hammer.
"Yeah," Kiyo said before reaching into his backpack, pulling out the red book, "Zatch, Poney, let's go." He said with the two noddings, stopping their sparring match before going with the two.
The group made it to a crossroads, and search for the source of the roar. In searching the area, they saw a Grimm Ursa. The four readied to attack but were shocked as the Grimm fell forward with its body starting to disintegrate. Suddenly, a person jumped on its back and began to bite into the disintegrating Grimm. Her hair was long dirty blonde but had crimson horns on top of her head. She wore a white-collar shirt and black pants and tie, as well as a deep blue jacket and white sneakers. She continued to chomp on the Grimm's body, but was only chewing black smoke, "Plee!" she vomited the gunk before the Ursa vanished, "No blood, no meat, not even a bone!" She said before flaring her sharp fangs, "I need food!" Suddenly, she sniffed the air, then turned to the group, "Humans! They do exist here!"
"Who is this girl?" Poney asked with the others not having the answer. However, the girl with the red horns smiled.
"On your knees, humans!" the girl with the red horns called out before posing with her arms, her eyes flaring with a yellow cross-like shape, "My name is Power!"
"…" The four looked on with half-open eyes, a silence falling over the area.
"…I said on your kn-" Power said before her stomach growled, causing her to fall back and sit on the ground, "Oh no, too hungry."
"Is this girl for real?" Nobara asked the others with Kiyo shrugging.
"I mean, Akame does the same thing when she hasn't eaten in a while." Poney commented, then looked over to her, "I have a hamburger you can eat if you want."
"Why didn't you say so, give it here!" Power spoke, causing Poney to run over before handing over the hamburger. She smiled as she was about to bite into it, but then stopped. The others watched as the girl with the red horns took out the lattice and tomatoes off the hamburger, handing them back to Poney before eating the rest of the hamburger. The flexible elite had a look of confusion, walking back as she ate them herself.
"She's starving but still picky enough not to eat the vegetables?" Kiyo said with half-open eyes.
"Who or rather what is she?" Nobara added, her arms crossed.
"I already told you; my name is Power." The girl with red horns said with her checks puffed with food before swallowing, then stood up. "And now, you humans have made a grave mistake helping me."
"I actually, I'm not human." Zatch said as he raised his hand, "I'm a mamodo." He said before walking over and showing the top of his head, parting his hair. Power looked down to see a set of small horns on his head. "Are you one as well, we both have horns."
"No…I am the Blood Devil." Power reintroduced, "But since you seem like a weaker devil, I will make you, my underling." She said before pointing, "Now, let us feast on these weak humans!"
"No," Zatch said with a focused gaze, causing Power to look back at him, "I'm not going to hurt my friends." He said before assuming a fighting stance, "And neither will you."
"Oh, do you have any idea how strong I am?" Power asked, then held her right hand to her left wrist. "Let me show you!" She said before slitting her wrist, causing blood to spill. However, Power manipulated the blood to take the shape of a massive hammer, "Now, after having that hamburger!" The Blood Devil said as she raised her weapon, "I'll turn you into one!" She said before slamming the blood hammer into Zatch. However, while the road dented, Zatch held the weapon back with his hands, "What?"
"For someone named Power," Kiyo spoke as he opened the book, "You have a hard time seeing how strong others are." He said as the book glowed, "Zaker!" he said before Zatch's eyes rolled back, his mouth opened before unleashing a bolt of electricity.
"AAAAAAHHHH!" Power screamed as she was shocked, launching herself back as the blood hammer burst into a pool on the ground. She laid on her back, before pushing herself up, the wounds healing, "Now, you've done it." The blood devil said as she flared her fangs, but was staggered as an explosion was heard, "What was that!?"
"That sounded like it came from…below?" Poney pointed out.
"The others!" Kiyo spoke, "Sounds like they ran into trouble." He said before looking to the electric Mamodo, "Zatch, we need to go."
"Right," Zatch nodded along with Poney.
"Hey, what about me!?" Power shouted, "I was just getting started."
"Then, I'll finish you off." Nobara said as she rolled her right shoulder, "The rest of you go on ahead, this one is mine."
"Suit yourself." Poney added before she followed Zatch and Kiyo, "Just don't die!" she called out as Nobara smirked at Power while readying her hammer.
"You think you can beat me with that little thing?" Power said as she held out her hand, causing the blood on the ground to reform into her massive hammer, "I will be turning you into mush, human."
"It's Nobara," the hammer sorcerous said she readied three nails as well, "And whatever you are, a curse or a devil, I will exercise you." She said before Power rushed her with a smile on her face and the blood hammer reeled back.
Meanwhile.
Blake and Mio continued to clash in a dance of blades. Their weapons sparked with each hit. The black cat Faunus jumped back as she changed her kusarigama into its pistol form again, opening fire. The white Gormotti dodge each shot with grace before tossing one of her ring blades at her opponent. It passed through Blake's body, but that was revealed to be a shadow clone. Mio gasped, but as her cat ears flickered, she dodged out of the way of a surprise attack. The black cat Faunus missed with her cleaver as gritted her teeth.
Suddenly, Blake switched her weapon back to its kusarigama form and tossed it to the thrown ring blade, hooking it. Mio gasped as Blake spun the weapons around in the air by her ribbon, then launched the ring blade at her opponent. The white Gormotti blocked with her other ring blade but was staggered before both weapons vanished. The black cat Faunus then dashed in with her cleaver ready to slash. In response, Mio punched the side of the weapon, knocking it out of her opponent's hand. Blake then pulled on her ribbon again, causing her kusarigama to return to her as she changed it back into its pistol form. At the same time, Mio spawned a new weapon in her right hand. Both were positioned facing each other, holding a gun to the other head. However, Blake gasped at this new weapon, "What, why do you have that?" she said as Mio held a flintlock pistol with a blade under the barrel, "Why do you have my mother's weapon!?"
"You're mother's weapon?" Mio asked, then focused on the bow atop Blake's head, "What are you hiding under that?" she said as Blake scowled, "Answer that and I will answer your question." The white Gormotti said with a glare as the black cat Faunus reached for her head, removing to bow to show her own set of feline ears, "I see now, you're her daughter." Mio said with a sigh, lowering her weapon, "You're name is Blake Belladonna."
"It is, but you still have not answered my question." Blake said as her gun was still aimed at Mio, "Why do you have her gun?"
"Technically, this is not hers, but as a version of it I can create for combat," Mio said before the bladed flintlock pistol disappeared. However, Blake still held her weapon to the white Gormotti's head, "Let me explain. When I arrived in this world, I was in Menagerie and went without food or water for days." Mio answered, "Your parents found me, took me in, and helped me recover." She said with a soft smile on her face, "They said I reminded her of their daughter." The white Gormotti said as Blake gasped, "After I was fully recovered, I wanted to thank them in some way. They had heard of White Fang based being attacked and what me to head to this Kingdom to find the base you were at to bring you home."
"I left the White Fang to join Beacon to become a huntress." Blake responded, "And I'm not going back to Menagerie… not after the way I left them."
"Kali said you might say that if I made that offer." Mio responded as Blake gasped, "But, your mother wants you to know that you will always have a home with her if you ever need it." The white Gormotti then had a look of focus. "So, Blake, what do you want to do now?"
Blake remained focused for a few seconds, glaring at Mio. However, she eventually lower her pistol, "None of what you said now was a lie?" Blake asked, causing Mio to nod "Then that means that train is-" she said before seeing Kiyo, Zatch, and Poney run up, "Guys, we have a big problem."
"What do you mean?" Zatch asked.
"And whose this other cat girl?" Poney added.
"I don't have time to explain everything again." Mio responded, "But that tunnel will fill up with Grimm that will attack Vale."
"What!?" Kiyo responded, as he looked down the tunnel, then had a realization, causing him to smirk, "In that case, leave this to us." He said as he turned to Zatch who nodded as the others looked on in confusion.
Meanwhile.
Atop the train, Levi evaded all gunfire as he rushed the Paladin. The White Fang member inside gritted his teeth before firing a missile. In response, Levi launched a thunder spear, causing both to clash with an explosion and massive smoke cloud. The paladin readied for Levi to emerge, but as the smoke faded, there was nobody there. The White Fang admin inside gasped then noticed more of the thunder spears littered the other carts.
Behind the paladin, Levi emerged from the right side of the cart, then launched two thunder spears into the heels of the paladin's legs. In detonating them, the paladin blasted off the train and rolled down the carts. In doing so, its metal frame collided with the thunder spears, blowing it to bits while setting off the bombs on those carts. Levi watched the destruction with a deadpan stare, then noticed the rest of the train stopped. He jumped down as Tanjiro emerged with the unconscious White Fang admin over his shoulder.
"I found out how to stop it," Tanjiro spoke, "But the booms still went off."
"I thought as much, but we concentrated them to one spot." Levi answered before turning to the massive hole created from the chained explosions, seeing Grimm starting to emerge, "Now, we hold out here until the others catch-" the scout captain said as he readied his blades, but then saw a light from the start of the tunnel.
They gasped as a massive thunder dragon roared down the tracks with an opened maw, devouring the Grimm while shocking them into nothingness. The thunder dragon stopped short of Levi and Tanjiro, soaring upwards as it dissipated with the last of the Grimm in the area. Levi then turned back to Tanjiro, who shrugged in confusion. The two then looked down the railway, seeing Zatch, Mio, and Blake running with Poney holding and exhausted Kiyo. Tanjiro had a look of joy at everyone's arrival, but noticed someone missing, "Where's Nobara?"
Meanwhile.
Nobara dodged each of Power's swings of her weapon. The hammer sorcerous readied three of her nails before launching them at the blood devil. However, none landed as Power sneered while changing her blood hammer into a blood lance. Nobara gasped before she tried to evade the attacks, "What's wrong, Human? Realize you're in over your head?" Power taunted, "Then let me chop it off for you!" she said before going for a horizontal slash, but Nobara jumped back, only getting her left forearm slashed, "Tell you what, if you bow down now, I might let you live."
"Funny, I was about to tell you the same things," Nobara said as she smirked with her right hand in holding out.
"Hm?" Power said before seeing nails in the ground where she stood.
"Straw doll technique:" Nobara said before snapping her fingers, "Hairpin!" suddenly, the nail in the ground erupted with blue cursed energy that engulfed Power.
"AAAAAAAAAHHHHH!" Power screamed as her body was being ripped apart. However, she gritted her teeth before dashing out of the energy, grabbing Nobara's left arm, "GAAAA!" she said before biting the wound, and sucking the blood.
"Gah, get off me!" Nobara said as took her hammer, smacking Power across the head until her bite loosened, allowing her to escape. However, Nobara was wobbling as she fell to one knee, "W-what the hell?"
"Hehe, that was a decent meal." Power said as she stood, her wounds healed, "I think I got a couple of pints before you knocked me off, but I couldn't let you damage my horns." The blood devil said as she resummoned her blood hammer, "What are you gonna do now?"
"So, some of my blood is in your body now?" Nobara asked.
"Yep, and it's gonna be a lot more really quick." Power said as Nobara started to chuckle, "What's so funny?"
"Here's another move I know," Nobara said as took out a nail, "Straw doll technique," she said before stabbing her left arm with the nail, "Resonance!"
Suddenly, Power's body pulsated in pain, causing her to fall to her knees, "W-what have you done-Blah!" she said before vomiting on the ground.
"I usually can't do this without a curse as the medium," Nobara said as she readied another nail, "But I guess this is close enough. Resonances!" She said before stabbing herself again, causing black spikes to erupt from Power's body.
"GAH!" Power screamed before glaring at Nobara who was smirking, "You little bitch!" She said before rendering her hammer, "Screw drinking you, I'll just smash you into paste!" the blood devil said as she dashed in, her blood hammer reeled back. Nobara responded with her hammer reeled back as well. However, as both weapons stuck each other, Nobara's radiated in a black flash, obliterating the blood hammer as Power took the shockwave of the hit. The blood devil was launched into the stone wall of a building, losing consciousness as the hammer sorcerous was still standing with a grin.
A short time later.
"…Eh?" Power's eyes slowly opened as she found Nobara and Kiyo glaring at her, hammer sorcerous with her left arm in a sling and bandaged wounds. The blood devil tried to attack, but found herself tied to a metal power, "…Okay, maybe we got off on the wrong foot." Power spoke, "Let's talk things out now."
"You want to do that now that you know some humans are stronger than devils." Kiyo responded, "That's what you called yourself, the Blood Devil?"
"Not that strong for that kind of title," Nobara commented.
"Hey, part of my powers are from the fear of blood people have." Power responded, "It's not my fault I went up against someone who would stab themselves with nails." She said before her stomach growled, "Now, I'm hungry again." She said before Nobara knelt, offering another burger. "Why?"
"You seem more like an idiot than a bad person, sort of like a guy I know." Nobara said with a smile forming, "And I got used to him, so I can get used to you as well."
"We can help so you don't starve out here or attack other humans." Kiyo responded, "But that means you cannot attack any of us or our friends again. So, what do you say?"
"Tsk," Power said before looking at the burger, "…Can you remove the tomatoes?" she said with Kiyo and Nobara smiling.
The trio then turned towards Levi approaching, "The White Fang Admin will not give up any useful information, so we will turn him over to Vale authorities." He said before looking to Power, "Well, what did she say?"
"Wait, is this guy your leader?" Power asked, "Why would I take orders from someone so short." She said as Nobara and Kiyo had a look of panic.
"…" Levi remained silent for a moment, "The two of you go and wait near the airship. I will welcome this member of the team." He said as they were already leaving while Power had a realization of the mistake she made.
Back at the destroyed base, Mio talked with Tanjiro, Zatch, and Poney. They looked over as Blake walked up, having just put down her scroll as she had hung up on a call, "That was my father, he confirmed everything you told me." Blake said with a smile, "He said you're also looking for your friends."
"In that case, you should join our team." Poney asked, "Do you like fish too?"
"Poney, you have to stop assuming people with cat ears-" Tanjiro was saying.
"Actually, I do." Mio responded, "I'm quite famished after all my travels."
"Oh," Tanjiro said as Poney smirked.
"You can't have any of mine!" Zatch called out, then glared at Blake, "I already have to hide my yellow tail supply from her, and she still sniffs it out!" He said as she scowled at him.
"It's fine, I can catch my own." Mio responded before seeing Tanjiro, who looked off in slight worry, "Is everything okay?"
"Y-yeah," Tanjiro said as the image of the bloodstained battlefield filled his mind, reminding him of that other day he arrived at a scene too late.
"…" Mio looked on in worry, then sighed, "The world I was from, the law of the land was that we fight to in order live and live to fight." She said with the others looking at her, seeing remorse in her eyes, "From the little I learn of this world, it seemed like they are those who have the same mindset. Yet, they had more of a choice in the matter. For these White Fang members, I wish things could have ended differently here." She said before reaching behind her back, "In my world, I had the role of an Off-Seer."
"An Off-Seer?" Tanjiro asked.
"Yes, after a battle, I would help send off those who lost their lives." Mio spoke as she looked at the deep blue flute in her hands, "It was a way to give peace of mind."
"I see," Tanjiro commented, "Could you play the song for them?" He asked with the others turning to him, "Even if this isn't your world, I think it would be right if everyone was able to move on in peace."
Mio nodded, a smile on her face. The white Gormotti walked over to the White Fang members, then began to play her flute. The melody that filled the air seemed to calm all the hearts around. As the others looked at the bodies, they gasped as palm blue orbs of light raided from the dead bodies. As Zatch watched, he recalled the times he saw other Mamodo fading away after battle, some in pain, but others with a smile on their face. He lowered his head as tears started to pour from his eyes, causing Poney to pat his head in comfort. Blake and Tanjiro looked at the lights go upwards into the hole towards the sky, a look of peace in their eyes as Mio concluded her song. The white Gormotti turned back to the others, bowing her head.
AN: There you go, Mio and Power now join the cast. Starting with the cat girl, I know she is not only a Gormotti but also a mix of a Blade and other things, but I will keep it simple here. Xenoblade is a great series with a lot of great characters I want to add over time but wanted to start with Mio because…well, she is basically a white-cat version of Blake. It's kind of hard to say without spoilers but, they have very similar storylines beyond their matching appearances and fighting styles. I did also like that I got to have her connected to Blake's family a bit and that she also got Kali's class to spawn her gun, (don't know if it is really her gun but a lot of fan art does have her with something like this). Now we move onto Power from Chainsaw Man, an anime coming out soon but has been hyped up for more than a year since that announcement. I'm also excited about it and thought I would continue the meme of everything involving Chainsaw Man coming out before the anime does. It is also being done by Studio Mappa, which also did Jujutsu Kaisen, so having her spar with Nobara was fun here. Remember that Power was a little weaker here due to hunger, so she was not at full capacity to fight, but was still able to give Nobara a good workout. Next up is Yang's team, who head back into Vale to visit an old friend but meet some new ones. Again, these are mainly series I like and want to put in a fanfic to write, so I hope to do more like this in the future.
