I' sorry that I haven'tuploaded in so long. I was really busy and TBH almost forgot about this. As Usual: I own almost nothing and this is all for fun.
I open my eyes, I'm standing on a cliff overlooking a valley covered in ice. Ares is standing behind me. "Am I dead?" I ask, a hint of fear creeping into my voice.
"Not yet, just unconscious," he explains.
"What happened to me?" I press.
"I don't know, your mother never did anything like that," he says.
"Well, it's a relief to know that I am unique," I joke.
Ares laughs, good to know I can do the impossible, "Anyway, I'm glad you're here; I want to grant you a new ability,"
"Let me guess, Your blessing," I say with heavy sarcasm. "Because if so, I'm already basically invincible,"
"No, you half-wit," he says, annoyed. "As you know, Sherman has the ability to summon the spirits of soldiers on the losing side of a war to fight with him. I want to grant you this ability, buuuut…"
"'Buuuut…' What's the catch?" I ask curiously.
"You will only be able to use it once period, with limitations; you can't use it if you are off the planet," he says.
"Wow, that is a very specific limitation, any reason?" I say with overwhelming curiosity.
"Well, yes," Ares says. "Other beings like you would be ridiculously powerful; Your mother was a pretty even match for me in terms of strength, but had I not been a god she would have beaten me a lot more. Couple your overwhelming strength with magical enhancements and you may very well be unstoppable."
"That is a fair point, anything else to say" I said suddenly I feel a pulling sensation, I get sucked off the cliff.
Ares grabs my wrist, "There is an item with your suitcase, a gift from Athena, you'll know it when you see it. Also, beware the child of the Earth, Beware…" he says as he lets go of my hand.
I slam down into my body, I bolt upright, my heart racing. Alex is sleeping in a chair, Chiron looks over, "He's awake." he says Nudging Alex awake.
Alex rushes over "What happened," I ask. "How long was I out?"
"You exploded, passed out, and have been that way for about two hours," she explains. "Chiron, could you go get Will? He would want to run some tests."
"Yes, he would." Chiron leaves the room.
After a few minutes the doors burst open a tall, severely skinny, pale boy with blonde hair and emerald eyes comes in followed by another taller, buffer, equally pale, boy with dark brown eyes and black hair, they are arguing in Italian. "NO, I have too many things to do. If I do go who's to say he will be found?" the blonde boy, Renaldo, yells. "So, no Nico I cannot go on a quest, I need to be alerted the moment Adravari is found!"
"But, Renaldo, I have important things to do as well. Will and I are trying to finalize the adoption," the other boy, Nico, responds with. "I have been working for over a year to get this kid to New York; I have to be available when we get approved."
"Still, I cannot go, finding that bastard has kept me going. I've spent my Grandfather's fortune and done some illegal things to find Adravari." Renaldo yells.
"OK, enough," yells Will Solace, son of Apollo, walking in followed by Chiron.
"Quiet, Beach boy," Renaldo yells in english, with a heavy Italian accent.
"Hey, you don't get to yell at him," shouts Nico defensively. "That's my job."
"Like Hades it is, paper thin," Will says in retort. "As your personal physician, Boys, I highly recommend. No, command you to eat more, especially in the morning, you in particular, Renaldo." He lectures as he does his check- up on me. "If you want to get stronger, you have to eat more I cannot stress that enough."
"Don't lecture me, beanpole, you're as skinny as I am," Renaldo says defensively.
"Yes, but I am 70% muscle, you are 70% bone."
"Will you two stop arguing about health related things when I literally exploded," I said irritated.
"OK, fine, you're free to go," he says with slight irritation. "Although, you should take it easy."
Alex and I walk out of the infirmary, making our way to the Colosseum.
"Alex, babe where've you been?" said a voice I recognized instantly.
Todd Yakumora, son of Nike; the goddess of victory. Todd's Dad is a Japanese immigrant who worked for Nintendo™ as a product manager until he was fired for disrespecting his boss or something. After that, he moved to America and started working for ZeniMax Media Inc., after only two years he became Senior undersecretary to the CEO himself, Robert A. Altman. Nike took notice of his competitive spirit and the rest is history. Todd grew up in a home of "be the best, always no matter what." he is always challenging people who are always better than him, myself included, in literally anything; it's starting to piss me off.
Alex points her knife at him. "Call me that again, and it will be that last thing you say," she steadies herself.
"Alex I know you," he says with fake care. "So we went through a rough patch, we resolved it, no big deal,"
"'No big deal,' 'NO BIG DEAL'?!" she says getting more pissed by the second. "You cheated on me with Drew Tanaka, which I would have been fine with had you told me. Lied directly to my face about said relationship, and to top it all off, get manipulated by Drew to break it off with me in the most public and coldest way possible. So do you understand why I want nothing to do with you?"
"Alex," he says in a pleading tone. "Give me another chance, please, Drew was manipulating me, I had no Id-"
"DON'T YOU DARE LIE TO ME," she yells in a commanding voice, cutting him off. "You knew full-well what you were doing,"
"Alex," he pleads. "I know you, do-"
"What's her favorite color?" I ask, wanting to test him.
"What?" he asks, confused.
"If you truly know her then you should be able to answer the following questions without a problem; What is her favorite color?"
"Purple?" he says hesitantly.
"Nope, Emerald Green. Favorite band?"
"MCR." he says after much deliberation.
"NO, Panic! At the Disco," I say with disappointment
"Wrong again," Alex says with disbelief. "I told you all of those facts over a hundred times,"
"Alex, I'm-"
"Do not say you are sorry, because we both know you're not," she says, cutting him off. She storms off.
"Alright, look," I tell him. "She wants nothing to do with you anymore, so stop while you're ahead. And FYI, hurt her in any way ever again, and I will kill you personally."
I open the door of my cabin to grab my stuff. The room was dark and, Silent. I hear a floorboard creak to my left; I chuck my knife in that direction. "YO ,dude, chill it's only me!" Clarisse shouts.
"Sorry. I just need to grab some stuff," I say back. "Shouldn't be more than a minute."
"Leo left a bag for you on your bunk," Claisse says. "I think he means it as a thank you for being his meat shield."
I look in the bag, it is filled with all types of guns; Pistols, shotguns, assault rifles, etc. And bullets to match. With attachments too. I grab one "M4 carbine: Shorter and lighter variant of the M16A2 assault rifle. Muzzle velocity of 2,970 feet per second, the M4 is a 5.56 x 44mm NATO, air cooled, direct impingement gas-operated, magazine-fed carbine."
"How and why do you know that?" Clarisse asks. "I've been a known child of war for almost ten years, And I'm not adept at identifying guns at a glance."
"I've retained a lot of knowledge from all the reading I do," I respond.
I walk out of the cabin and head for the hill, I see Alex and Renaldo standing on the hill talking to some large, bald man. He has red tattoos on his chest and head. He looks over to me and kneels, "I am honored by your presence, my lord," he says in a deep, rumbly voice.
"Who are you?" I asked, confused as I motion for him to stand.
"I am Kratos, humble servant to Lord Ares," he says. "I was summoned to assist you as best I can."
"I thank you for the offer," I tell him. "However, your presence will not be necessary."
"Very well," he says. "Just keep this remote with you, when you press the center button I will appear near you."
"Didn't you almost kill the gods?" Alex asks.
"I almost did, but Lord Ares reminded me of my place," Kratos says in a reminiscing tone. "Now I serve Lord Ares and his offspring."
"Good, take us to the bus station then you are dismissed." We pile into the van, driven by Argos, on our way to the bus station.
"Why are we headed to the bus station, shouldn't we go to Olympus to do some investigating," Alex asked.
I try to say something but just then the van goes spiraling off course across the freeway. Cars start honking, people start shouting.
I hear a woman shout "Carter!"
I open the van door to see a dark-skinned man with long , untamed curly hair lying next to the van. I noticed he was wearing a nice suit. In his left hand appeared to be a wand of Ivory carved with symbols I don't understand and in his left hand was a long curved sword I recognized as a Kopesh. I looked at his nametag and read, to the best of my ability: Dr. Carter Kane, PhD. he starts moving slightly and groaning. "Dr. Kane, pace yourself, sir."
He looks at me, confused. "Who are you?"
A woman with Darker skin and straight black hair rushes over. I immediately know her as Dr. Zia Rashid, head of Archeology at NYU. "You alright, love?"
"Yeah, I'm good." he says struggling to get up. Where are we?"
"Long island, Dr. Kane!" Alex says quickly.
"Wonderful!" he says with an odd enthusiasm.
"Should I call Sadie?" Zia asks.
"No, she'll never let me hear the end of that!" he says with an air of defiance.
