Ryo was on his bike on his way to the movie theater in his casual clothes.

"This is B, target has been spotted, currently riding a bike towards C" A woman said into a hidden radio.

"This is C, I am at the bicycle parking. The target is likely heading towards the theater now" a man said.

"Understood. Miss Kaguya it's time".

"Yes" Kaguya got out of a car wearing a casual dress. 'Now that I think about it, this is the first time I'm seeing the president out of school… I feel a little strange'.

Ryo parked his bike and walked through a mall-like building where the theater is located.

Kaguya was standing next to a fountain with a guard not too far from her. 'Urgh. I'm so tense I could vomit'. Kaguya turned slightly to the nearby guard. "Hey, do you have something for an upset stomach?".

"Please be patient. Mr Itsuki will be here shortly".

"Target approaching and talking to himself. Reaching the rendezvous in fifteen seconds."

["Hey, are those people still looking at you?"]

Ryo talked under his breath. "I think so… Is it trouble?"

["Could be Kaguya's guards"]

"It's also possible they followed me to get to Kaguya and hold her randsome?"

["I think you're overreacting"]

"I wouldn't want to risk it… I could hide out somewhere for a bit and-"

["You're overreacting! Just go for the date. And If they're still following then "protect" her or something"]

"Yeah… I guess I'm just nervous".

["Have you never been on a date before?"]

"Nope"

["None whatsoever?"]

"Unfortunately"

["I bet you feel nervous then, with the guards watching the whole thing"]

"They really don't help" Ryo took a glance at one of the guards.

"I think he knows!" the guard said, hiding their face.

Ryo still talked under his breath "Course I do. You guys have been following me two miles". Ryo looked forward to the fountain and saw Kaguya.

["Wow all dressed up. Bet you feel lucky"]

"Quiet".

["Alright alright… I'll see you when the movie's over"]

"Wait, you're not going to help me!?"

["Your date not mine bye~"] The narrator's voice faded out.

"Some partner" Ryo walked towards Kaguya. "Hey, did you wait long?"

"No, I just got here myself," Kaguya smiled innocently.

"Sorry I forgot to specify a time, so I thought to get here a bit earlier. But it seems you were a step ahead of me"

'Well of course. I'll always be a step above mere commoners'. "Really it's no problem"

"Shall we?" Ryo gestured towards the theater.

"Sure". "You're free to withdraw," Kaguya said quietly.

"Yes Ma'am" a highschool looking girl walked away.

"Did you say something Kaguya?"

"No"

The walk was slightly awkward, because neither of them knew what to say until they entered the theater.

"Wow this place is nicer than I'd imagined" Kaguya was looking around.

"The movie theater where I grew up was nowhere near this level of class".

"This must be the entrance" Kaguya was walking towards the screening room.

"Seems like it".

["Those won't get you in there"]

'They won't?'

["They're coupons you have to exchange them for actual tickets"]

"Oh… Kaguya, wait up, these won't get us into the movie."

"They won't?"

"These are coupons, we need to exchange them for actual tickets"

"I see… I'm afraid I don't frequent places like this, let's go exchange them then" Kaguya walked off.

["Have you ever been to a movie theater?"]

'Not with a coupon. And I thought you were going to see me after the movie?' Ryo thought with a sassy tone.

["I was hoping I could just watch the movie but it seems I have to help. And where is she going?"]

"That's the snack bar Kaguya"

Kaguya looked up at the sign that said food and drinks. "So it is"

Ryo and Kaguya waited in line to exchange their tickets at the proper counter.

'Movie theaters are quite complicated. I should be able to copy what the people in front of me are doing. It'll be easy" Kaguya thought to herself.

"Next please" The lady at the counter said.

Ryo walked up to the counter. "I'd like to exchange this coupon".

"Certainly. Please pick your seat" The lady passed Ryo a screen showing the available seats.

'Oh right, the seating system…' "Kaguya where should we…" Ryo turned around and saw Kaguya at the other counter.

["Why is she over there…?"]

'I thought that we would do it together. But I guess not'

Over at Kaguya's side.

Kaguya kept saying the same thing in her head over and over again. 'I just need to exchange my coupon for a ticket… I just need to exchange my coupon for a ticket…'

"Next please".

Kaguya walked up to the counter "Umm… can I use this?"

"Yes, one ticket for Love refrain. The showing with subtitles starts in ten minutes. Please choose your seat".

"My… seat..?"

"You can sit in the middle, near the front or near the back, if you prefer you can choose whether to sit in the middle or near one of the edges".

'How do you pick a seat!?'

[*Cough Cough* "Kaguya Shinomiya is one of the wealthiest people in the country. She has live-in housekeepers to assist her, a personal chauffeur to drive her to and from school and a personal chef scouted from a three-star hotel to cook her meals. A team devoted to taking care of every one of her needs so she can focus her undivided attention on her studies"]

'Is she okay?'

["Quiet, I'm doing my job". "Naturally she has never once purchased a ticket in her life and this is her first time having to choose a seat in a movie theater. She is in uncharted territory"]

"Um… So when I pick a seat I can't sit anywhere else?"

"That's right"

Kaguya thought to herself about the situation. 'I need to put my thought's in order. First my objective. I need to get a seat next to the president and then occasionally have our hands touch so I can enjoy watching him squirm. But if I fail here, when I'm choosing a seat… This… this is no joke! I'll be watching a romance movie by myself! Out of the question! I have to pick a seat next to him! There aren't many places left to sit in the middle with two seats open… Where would he sit..?'. Kaguya looked over to Ryo.

"Have you picked yet?" Ryo said, walking over to her.

"No not yet"

"I chose H-12. Thought I'd tell you" Ryo walked toward the doors of the screening room before stopping and waiting for Kaguya.

'He said he chose H-12 so I guess I'll choose H-11… NO! The president wouldn't have told me, he knows that would have been the same as saying he wants me to sit next to him! He would have given it a hidden meaning. H-12… H12… Pentane!? Pentane's formula is C₅H₁₂, C-5… is available'. At the same time C-5 disappeared.

'She's overthinking it isn't she?'

["By a long shot, she's thinking you gave your seat placement a hidden meaning and that hidden meaning has to do with pentane's formula"]

'What's pentane?'

["It's used to create polystyrene"]

'Oh…' Ryo faced forward again.

'I missed my chance, the president has a total stranger sitting next to him. I'll just pick this one' Shinomiya randomly pressed a seat and walked over to Ryo.

"You ready?"

"Yeah" Shinomiya was hiding her annoyed face as they walked in.

They went to their respective seats. Ryo sat in H-12 and Shinomiya G-12.

'So the president wasn't tricking me?' Kaguya had a disappointed look on her face.

A man next to Ryo started talking before the movie started.

"It's a shame we couldn't sit next to each other" The man said to their partner who was sitting in front of them next to Kaguya.

'They're having the same problem me and Kaguya are, Its like this theater is cursed or something'

["Are you sure it's not blessed?"]

'Why do you say that?'

["Look at the seating positions and think"]

'The seating positions?... The man's wife is sitting in front of him like Kaguya is to me. So what?'

["So you want to sit next to Kaguya and he wants to sit next to his wife"]

'... OH! Why didn't I see it sooner!' Ryo leant to the man next to him. "Is that your wife?"

"Hm yes. Why?"

Kaguya noticed and listened in.

"I don't mind switching seats with your wife if you want to sit next to each other?"

'The president is giving up his seat for that man's wife, He really is kind' Kaguya thought.

"Would that be okay?" The man asked.

"Course" Ryo got up and walked to the end of the row.

"Thank you". The man signaled his wife and she got up and switched seats.

Kaguya was thinking to herself as Ryo walked past and sat down next to her.

"Popcorn Kaguya?" Ryo tilted the popcorn towards her.

"Oh yes… thank you". `Wait, why is the president next to me!?' Kaguya took a minute to think. 'Oh I see, he planned this. He knew a couple would've wanted to sit next to each other so he sat behind me and made me sit in front of him, so a couple would sit next to us the same way and then he could switch with one of the couple in an act to seem nice, while really intending to sit next to me! The president is better than I thought'.

["Wrong!.. just wrong!"]

Kaguya, Ryo and the Narrator sat and watched the movie.
