Ten days after the reactivation of the Guardians and the selection of the new Champions, it was almost time for the attack of Xerxes and the monsters. According to Sheikah spies, the enemy would arrive at the castle by sundown.

Currently, Aria was with the main force of the Hylian army who were all on the walls of the castle since she would be in command.

"The sun is almost setting," thought Aria to herself, "This is going to be intense."

"Princess Aria," said a soldier who went to Aria, "According to the spies, the enemy will be here momentarily."

"I see," replied Aria, "Send word to everyone that those stationed with bows should focus on shooting the Lynels and Hinoxes." "Also make sure the bombs focus on the Stone Taluses." "We should be fine fighting the weaker monsters but if the strong ones I mentioned get through we should be cautious."

"At once Your Highness," replied the soldier who then left to spread the orders given.

Meanwhile in the Guardian room, Sara was turning on the Guardian controller on the Sheikah Slate with Faro watching her.

"Ok," said Sara, "Things seem alright here." "Now we wait for the enemy."

"Out of curiosity, when will the Guardians get in the battle," asked Faro.

"Once the enemy is close enough and hopefully before we take casualties," answered Sara.

"Your Majesty," said Paya as she came in the room, "The enemy is here." "There are soldiers who can see them firing arrows at us."

"I see," said Sara, "In that case lets see how it goes."

Sara and Faro then went to a nearby window that would show the battle and began to watch while waiting for the right moment to send in the Guardians while Paya returned to her position.

At the front lines, soldiers were following the orders Aria had given fired arrows and bombs at the chosen targets.

"Looking good so far," said Gard as he joined Aria, "Look at all of those dying Lynels and Hinoxes."

"Don't let your guard down Gard," said Aria to her husband, "I think there's a Lynel dodging our attacks." "Everyone kill that Lynel, I think it has bomb arrows."

The soldiers who heard Aria focused on the Lynel in question, but it shot a bomb arrow at the wall which made a section of the wall collapse while all of the soldiers there ran out of the area to avoid falling.

"The wall is broken," shouted Ogima who was in charge of a force of soldiers hidden behind the walls, "Don't let those monsters through."

With that said, Ogima's troops fought off the monsters who made it to the wall and trying to get through it. Bokoblins and Lizalfos were slain one after another, but the earlier Lynel was causing trouble until a Guardian appeared and blasted it down.

"Is that a Guardian," asked Shogo who saw the Guardian from his position with Paya, who was leading the armies from the other races," "I've never seen one before."

"That's right," answered Paya to her son, "Her Majesty informed me four days ago that they'll be helping out." "Glad to see that they're on our side this time."

After the Guardian took down the Lynel, more Guardians appeared, and they charged at the enemy followed by the Hyrule armies who were commanded by Aria to charge.

On top of a nearby hill, where the monsters were based, Xerxes watched what was happening and he gained frustration.

"So, they had a secret weapon did they," said Xerxes to himself, "No matter, they won't be a match for my entire army."

Xerxes then commanded his hidden forces and revealed a huge army of monsters that all charged into the battle. Not long after, a Guardian was taken down which started to give worry to the Hyrule armies as another was defeated as well.

"Don't worry about the Guardians," said Aria to everyone, "We can still do this."

"But look at those numbers," said a soldier who noticed the enemy numbers, "I don't think we can prevail."

As soon the soldier said that four loud sounds were heard and most from both sides paused in confusion. A minute later, the Divine Beasts appeared with each of them crushing and blasting hundreds of monsters.

Taking advantage of the situation, Aria spotted Xerxes and went for him while taking down any monster that got in her way.

"This ends now Xerxes," shouted Aria to the Chaos Wizard once she reached him.

"You think these mechanical creatures can turn the tide like that," asked Xerxes, "I think not."

Xerxes then shot a dark orb at each of the Divine Beasts and then threw another one to the ground which took the form of Link.

"Wait a minute," said Aria, "What's that and why does it look like my father?"

"It's a dark clone of the Hylian Champion," explained Xerxes, "I also sent dark clones of the other original champions to fight the new ones." "I just learned that there are pilots in those giant things and knew I had to take them out while learning of how to."

The dark Link clone then charged at Aria and then started clashing blades with her. To Aria's surprise, the dark clone was just as strong as she remembered her father was which gave her concerns for what was happening in the Divine Beasts.

At one point, Aria's sword was knocked out of her hands by the dark clone. However, right after, a Guardian charged at the fight and blasted the clone which destroyed it. To both Aria and Xerxes' surprise, Sara was riding the Guardian.

"Sara why are you here," asked Aria.

"I secretly had one Guardian stay back in case of emergency," explained Sara, "When I saw what happened to the Divine Beasts, I decided to come here personally with the final Guardian and have it focus on Xerxes."

"All you just accomplished is making it easier for me to kill you," said Xerxes.

"Doubtful," said Sara, "I think your Champion clones are all down by now considering, they are back to striking down monsters.' "In fact, it seems that Rudania is going for you right now."

"What," shouted Xerxes but as soon as he noticed, Rudania launched a magma bomb at him which took him down.

"If you're wondering what happened to your clones," said Sara to Xerxes as he lied there dying in defeat, "The new Champions were not alone in the Divine Beasts but were accompanied secretly by the leaders of the four races just in case."

Xerxes then died with a shocked face and without a commander, the monsters ended up retreating.

"Hey Sara," said Faro who went to the twins after the battle ended, "Do we pursue the retreating monsters?"

"No need," answered Sara, "Despite everything, we have casualties." "We need to take care of that first and handle the surviving monsters another time."

As suggested by Sara, the wounded were taken to the infirmary while the bodies of the dead were taken to where they would each be buried.

"Sure glad that's over," said Aria.

"Indeed," agreed Sara, "Let's just hope Hyrule stays peaceful now."

With the battle taken care of and peace restored, the people of Hyrule were able to return to their normal lives while being proud of how their queen handled things.
