Chap. 29: Arrival at Barbados, the honeymoon, the beach, visiting Wytchway, and those back in Britain.
Just after Harry and Daphne appeared with the portkey, they were met by the Ministry of Magic's Ambassador, Heathcliff Brathwaite.
"Lord and Lady Potter, it's so good to have you visit us! I am Ambassador Brathwaite and am at your service while you're here. Rufus tells me that you'll need transportation, and we will be providing that shortly. Now, would you care for anything to drink during your wait? Maybe a good Bajan Rum Punch?"
Brathwaite shook both of their hands in a very ingratiating manner and directed the two to a large sitting room at the front of an old brick two-story building on King Street in Bridgetown, which was close to the magical quarter.
"Yes," Harry said, "Daphne and I could do with a drink while we wait."
"Good, good," Brathwaite said as he ordered his assistant, Mr. Hunte, to mix two Rum Punches and bring them to the Potters. "Have you already exchanged your money at Gringotts for the Barbadian dollar? It's pegged at about 50% of the Yankee dollar, so when you see a price, think half for that, and it runs about 60% for the British pound, so divide that by five for the Galleon on exchange."
"That's good to know," Harry said while accepting his drink. "I assume that I will have no trouble with my credit cards and cheques here? I use Barclays for my muggle banking."
"Oh, no, Lord Potter, none at all," Brathwaite said. "Lady Potter, how do you like your punch?"
"It's very tasty," Daphne said, "and I'd say it has a hidden kick to it if I drink too many."
Here, Brathwaite chortled out loud. "Quite right, Lady Potter, quite right! I'm sure that you and your husband will be treated to many different rum drinks while on our fine island, so enjoy them. Also, if you find one you like, ask the bartender how to make it!
"You might also enjoy a tour of our distilleries while here, especially Mount Gay and Foursquare."
"Thank you, Ambassador," Daphne replied as she took another drink. She did want to finish it before their cab arrived.
"I shall leave you to it then," Brathwaite said. "Hunte, see to it that they know of their transportation's arrival, and help them with anything they need, such as placing their unshrunken luggage in the boot."
Harry and Daphne found themselves in the back seat of a new automobile as they made their way out of Bridgetown on the H1, which was the coastal road that led them by all the different hotels along the Platinum Coast. Finally, they had reached Holetown, just a little north of the Sandy Lane Hotel, and made their way past The Club Resort, The Tides restaurant, the Mango Bay Hotel, the St. James Parish Church, and the Horny Ram bar, which made them both laugh. Finally, they came to a large white stone wall that had a brown and gold sign on it that said, Colony Club, where they turned left and entered a long tree-lined drive that ended at the sea.
However, before they went that far, they made another left and were driven to the entrance of their hotel.
When the two stepped out, they noticed that the main building was older, as it had once been a private club, and it had an open sky courtyard with a large Koi pond in its center. Here, they noticed the front desk to the right, so they made their way over to check in, as a bellhop had already taken their baggage for them.
Once finished, they were led through the hotel, and past the large restaurant called the Laguna Restaurant, which was an open-air main dining venue serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner, daily. The ceiling was two stories high, and hung from it were large ceiling fans blowing down onto the tables below. They were told that reservations were recommended.
When outside on the walkways, they noticed a very long lagoon-shaped swimming pool that stretched all through the Palm-lined resort, and they could see the beach and the Caribbean just over from them to their right. The sight was amazing.
Finally, they were taken to an Ocean View suite at the end, and on the ground floor. One could sit on their patio and watch the sunset in the west over a private supper. One could also walk off their patio and be on the beach in a few steps.
Once in their room, they noticed that they had a king-sized four-poster bed, with Mosquito netting, a sitting area, and a pretty elegant brown marble bath. Outside their room was the Sunset Deck Restaurant and the beach, which had lounge chairs with umbrellas everywhere.
Daphne was almost ready to squeal out in excitement at their accommodations, especially after she noticed the red rose petals on their bed in the shape of a heart, and a bucket of Champagne sitting on the small table in the sitting area. There was also a free bottle of Rum Punch, pre-mixed, waiting at the mini-bar.
Harry remembered what he was told in a travel agent's brochure, and it was a surprise for his new wife. "Feel the sand beneath your feet with the stars overhead, and make private beach dining at Colony Club an incredibly romantic affair for that picture-perfect and private dining experience in Barbados. Watch the sun as it slowly drops into the ocean and feel the gentle sea breeze waft in while you enjoy a delicious dinner on the beach, which is served to you by a private waiter. The hotel's concierge team will eagerly make arrangements for you." That was coming for that very night.
Once the two had unpacked, Harry opened the Champagne, a bottle of Moet & Chandon Nectar Imperial Rose, where he filled he and Daphne's two flutes, and opened the exterior door to their private patio.
Harry sat down in one of the wicker chairs, but Daphne didn't; she sat in his lap and began to snog him senseless in between the sips of Champagne. This went on for a bit when the two cooled themselves down and headed to the Laguna for afternoon tea since they had missed lunch. By the time seven o'clock rolled around, and they were dining, it would be the same as twelve at night during their old time, and by eight, they would head back to their room for the night.
When seven did arrive, they were led to the beach and were set at a table for two with tiki torches burning around them, and with a waiter waiting on their every need. Here, they dined on Lobster and a bottle of good white wine before returning to their room at eight.
Once Harry closed the door after hanging the do not disturb sign, he was practically attacked by Daphne, who had her lips locked onto his as she pushed them both back to the bed, which was already turned down for them. It didn't take long for their clothes to be shed, and the foreplay to begin.
However, when it finally came to "that time," Harry was nervous and was afraid of hurting his new wife.
"Don't worry, love," Daphne said in a heated breath, "mum taught me a temporary numbing spell which will wear off in about five minutes."
She reached for her wand on the bedside table, and cast the spell on her vagina, before pulling Harry back on top of her.
Here, he teased her a bit but finally started to push in. When he did, Daphne bit her lower lip, as the spell didn't stop all the pain, and she felt a burn, and then something tear. Here, she stopped Harry for a few seconds before she nodded, and he slid his way deeply inside making her gasp out. She was now in seventh heaven.
That night, the two made slow and passionate love for the first time, but she knew that she would be sore in the morning. She had also become a properly married woman and witch, as the two had consummated their marriage, plus, the orgasm she had was fantastic.
As the two were lying back and panting, Daphne looked over at Harry with a smirk.
"You know, husband, dear, that years ago they used to force a bedding ritual."
"What's that?" Harry asked.
"The family got to watch the newlyweds do it," Daphne explained, "to certify that the marriage was consummated."
"Glad we don't have that today," Harry deadpanned, and then pulled Daphne close to him, where she threw her right leg over his thigh and lay her head on his chest.
"Good night, dear," Harry said. "I love you."
"I love you to, Harry."
Within seconds, both were out like a light.
The next morning, the newlyweds didn't wake until ten o'clock, where they quickly showered together, dressed in casual clothing, and made their way to the Laguna for a late breakfast. The Laguna served British meals, and all the proper teas, so Harry and Daphne ordered a full English breakfast before they ventured back to their room, changed, and made their way out by the sea.
Daphne was wearing a white bikini and a large white sun hat, with white-rimmed sunglasses. Harry was wearing a pair of tan Bermuda shorts and was carrying their towels and sunscreen while walking behind his new wife, which made him think back to a daydream he had some time back at the Wands and Wizards Cafe. It was almost as if he had seen the future, he thought.
They had a quick swim in the sea, first, before the two took up a couple of lounges under a tan square umbrella, and ordered two Rum Punches. They lie back and enjoyed the sea as they conversed about family and the wizarding world, and about the several boats and activities out on the water until twelve o'clock came, where they stood and made their way to the Sunset Deck Restaurant and had a light lunch, with tea, before heading back out onto the beach. Here, the two tried tube riding behind a power boat, and had a blast. They wanted to do scuba while there, too, and swim with the sea turtles before they left.
That afternoon, the two ordered room service and enjoyed a meal from their patio as they watched the sun settle into the water on the horizon, and finally disappear, leaving the sky a golden orange color against the sparse clouds. Here, they toasted each other with their flutes of Champagne, and then cuddled up on the patio's daybed before heading back into their room.
Once back inside, Daphne couldn't help herself as she was randy again for her husband. Tonight, she wanted to be on top, and to her delight, Harry liked that idea very much.
That night, Harry looked up at his nude wife as she rode him with her head thrown back, and thought to himself that she was the most beautiful sight that he had ever seen. Really, he thought, she put Venus and Apollo's Daphne to shame. She was pure beauty, Harry thought, and she was his just like he was hers.
After breakfast the next morning, and since they had woken at a decent hour, Harry and Daphne made their way to the front desk, and spoke with the concierge. Harry explained that they owned a piece of real estate on the island, and asked if they knew where the neighborhood of West Cliff was.
The concierge did and stated that it was close to the golf course on Westmoreland Road. He told them that to go there, one just took Porters Road, which was very close to them, to Westmoreland, and follow that until you came to the West Cliff subdivision on the right. He told them that their house was on Sugar Cane Ridge alongside the wealthy elite. Harry's jaw dropped at this, but Sirius did pay the equivalent of £250,000.00 for the home not long ago.
"Can you call us a cab to take us there?" Daphne asked.
"Of course, Mrs. Potter. Just wait in the lounge, and we will tell you when it arrives."
"Thank you," Daphne said as she took Harry's hand and made their way to the lounge to wait.
The trip didn't take long as it was only a little over one and one-quarter miles away.
Harry paid the driver, and the two stepped out and looked at the residence. They were both gobsmacked, as it was a beautiful stucco three-bedroom villa, painted in a very light pastel pink with white trim, and it had a garage for an auto to their right. There was a sign on the home declaring that its name was "Wytchway." The young Potters had a laugh at that.
The entry was through an arched doorway in a half-wall with a white wooden security door, and once inside that, after Harry unlocked it, they were standing before the portico. In the small area on either side of the landing grew elephant ears, ferns, and a few other assorted tropical plants.
One entered the house by opening two white wooden and shuttered entry doors, and then two white steel security doors that were made with a diamond-shaped steel latticework behind that.
Inside was a large great room that made up the living and dining area, and they could see the kitchen to their right from a door leading to the dining area. Another door led to a small sitting room, or a guest bedroom if one wanted. The ceiling of the room was coffered and was covered in whitewashed planking keeping with the antique island look, but the walls were all plastered and painted white.
The floor was covered in white marble with small black marble squares inserted about every six feet apart. There were a few rugs down, but an older sofa and cocktail table to their left was all they saw, along with an older CRT color telly. The dining table to their right was a small round one, with four chairs. One could tell that a bachelor had lived there, so refurnishing the house was in order. There was also a half-finished bottle of rum on the dining table, which Sirius had left behind.
They also noticed a pair of French doors straight ahead, which led to a huge covered inset porch at the rear, and it was guarded by the same type of steel diagonal latticework as was behind the front doors.
The two made a left past the sofa, and into the hall which turned right toward the back, where they found three bedrooms and two baths. Daphne instantly claimed the first one to their left, as it had a bidet, and it was more fitted for a female, especially the wide sink area and extra-large mirror. She also loved the huge glass-enclosed shower. Everything was pretty new, they noticed, but they would need to supply it with towels and toiletries, etc.
They saw a smaller bedroom across the hall, which they thought would be appropriate for kids, and she asked Harry what that rectangular box was high up on the wall, and just below the ceiling.
"That's an air conditioner, dear," Harry explained. "The other part will be outside. It's to cool the room on the hottest days."
They both noticed a ceiling fan in the coffered ceiling of the room as well.
Next was the other two bedrooms, one larger than the other, making the largest at the rear, the master. Next to it, in the hall, was another bath, and it only had a toilet, so that was Harry's. They could tell that Sirius had used this one as well, where they found some of his cologne and a few towels, etc.
The master bedroom only had one old bed, and the other two bedrooms were empty of furniture. Yes, they would be spending a good bit of money shortly, she thought. They could probably come down during Christmas, and finish it up.
She was starting to tear up in happiness, but she wouldn't let Harry see because she was thinking that she was the luckiest witch alive for her age. She had this house, a wonderful husband, and an excellent lover. Plus, they had their manor back home, which she really enjoyed. Once she graduated, she knew that they could spend their winters here, and she was looking forward to that.
They made their way back into the living area, and Harry opened the doors to the rear porch, which she fell in love with. It was huge, even though it was barely furnished. There were two lounge chairs and an old sideboard that was stocked with several bottles of rum and whiskey. This must have been where Sirius spent a lot of time. She also noticed a magazine laying on a small table by one of the lounges, which she picked up. It had a half-nude woman on the cover, and it was called Playboy. When she opened it, she almost dropped it, as it was full of nude women, and articles, along with whiskey and cigarette ads. She quickly binned this before Harry could see it.
When they stepped out onto their back lawn, they found that they had an in-ground swimming pool to their right, which needed to be cleaned, and a good variety of trees, especially Palms around the fence line. From here, they made a left, and walked around the house, where they found that they were the proud owners of an ancient ship's anchor that was painted white. It was a true relic, and it was mounted into the ground on its side.
"I'll have to mow around that," Harry groused, and Daphne laughed.
That was when they heard a noise in one of the trees, and when they looked up, they spotted a Green Monkey, also known as the Sabaeus Monkey, with a little one.
"Would you look at that," Daphne said in wonder.
"Yea, I read about them before we came," Harry said. "They're pretty tame, and one can feed them, but it's best to leave them be, especially mothers like this one."
At Daphne's nod, they made their way back to the rear porch, which Harry locked up, and into the main living space. Here, they looked into the small sitting room, which Daphne claimed, and into the kitchen, which was pretty modern, though Harry said that they would need a new icebox. This old one was white, and with no electricity on, when they opened it, they found spoiled food, which made them both turn green. Harry quickly vanished it before he closed the door.
"We have a lot of shopping to do, dear," Harry said as he looked around.
"Don't I know it," Daphne replied, "but let's start, and go into town to see what is available. We may even have to go back down to Bridgetown to buy what we need, or we can shop some back home, shrink it, and bring it back with us."
"Let's try here, first," Harry said with a grin as he pulled out his cell phone, and called a cab. "Let's see what Holetown has to offer, yea? We can go back to the hotel at any time."
Here, Daphne wrapped her arms around her husband and stood on her toes to give him a long kiss. "I knew that there was a reason that I quickly fell head over heels for you, husband."
"I thought it was my rakish charm and striking good looks," Harry replied with a smirk.
"It was that, too," Daphne said, "but it's you, and there's only one you."
"That's how I feel about you as well, Daph."
Daphne almost tackled Harry and began to give him a heated snog, which they kept up until the cab arrived.
"How do you think their honeymoon is going, Helen?" Cyrus asked.
"Oh," Helen said with a smile, "I would say that it is going splendidly. Merlin, having one where they are, what newly married witch wouldn't want that!"
"Surely they wouldn't be thinking about children this soon?"
"No, Cyrus," Helen said, "she's on the potion, and I watched her pack it. No, she said that they would wait until she finished school before we see any grandchildren."
That made Cyrus feel relieved, but he thought back to a possible child down in New Orleans and wondered what would become of that years down the road.
"Have you heard anything from Harry and Daphne?" Hermione asked Astoria at breakfast.
"Mum said that they arrived fine and that they would see us in a week."
Hermione almost huffed at this, as she was wondering what the two would get up to while in the Bahamas.
"Did I hear that right," asked Blaise from down the table, "that Daphne is on her honeymoon with the Golden Boy?"
"Why, yes," Astoria said with a smirk, " and I imagine that the Golden Boy is screwing her brains out as we speak. No more Ice Queen, except for those that she has constantly turned down. Nope, she's married and taken, now."
Blaise scowled at that, and so did Hermione at Astoria's crude language. Tracey was laughing at both of them.
A/N: So starts the honeymoon, and much shopping around the island, as well as visiting several places of interest before they return. Thanks, everyone, for the good reviews!
