TRAITOR

"This is seriously the most dangerous and maybe the most stupid thing that I have ever done. Allowing three very dangerous strangers into Winterfell…"

Sansa nervously paced up and down. Jon was seated, watching her with a glare.

"They're not strangers… they're my children. Your niece… your nephews…" Jon stated.

"Only two of them are Starks and we have yet to confirm if they are really who they say they are."

Jon groaned rolling his eyes at her as she still was in denial. She paced anxiously with her hands grasped tightly together. They had been arguing about it ever since Jon had convinced her to let them all in. Sansa was hesitant and was more lenient in not doing so but Jon had in the end, persuaded her.

"I never should have listened to you."

The three children now bathed and properly clothed for the North, entered the room. Jon stood up as they entered. They were dressed like proper Northerners. He smiled at them and even Sansa was quite impressed with how handsome they looked wearing the Stark colours.

Ed wore a leather tunic and cloak that matched Jon's. His hair fell in dark curls and in every way, he looked just like his father.

"Is that not proof enough for you?" Jon whispered to Sansa referring to how Ed was the spitting image of him.

Lya wore a light blue dress and dark grey cloak and Jai wore something similar to his brother. Sansa smiled at the little Lady but then slightly scowled at the silver haired, violet eyed child wearing colours that did not belong to his house. Jon noticed… It reminded him of how Lady Catelyn used to stare at him. He gave her a soft nudge to stop.

There was a long moment of silence as Jon enjoyed just observing his children. They were magnificent to him and he was so grateful.

"You all look…" Jon didn't really know how to finish his sentence. "Well presented."

Ed smiled at him.

"Thank you for the clothes…"

The children's mannerisms were very fine indeed, Sansa noted.

"Ahem." Sansa coughed, indicating to Jon to introduce her.

"Oh this is my sister, your Aunt and the Lady of Winterfell, The Queen in the North." Jon said. "Sansa Stark."

Ed's smile faded… he glared at Sansa which she immediately noticed. She looked at Jon oddly wondering what the child's problem was.

"Stark?" Ed said sternly. "Like… like Arya Stark?"

Jon gaped as did Sansa and they swiftly exchanged looks upon hearing their sister's name.

"How do you know Arya?" Jon questioned.

His son scrunched his fists tightly as he spoke her name.

"How do you know our sister?" Sansa questioned again, being a bit more firm and not liking the way Ed was getting angry as they spoke.

"Sister?" Lya repeated. "You mean… Arya Stark is our Aunt?"

"That would be right." Jon softly replied. "You've met her?"

Lya looked at her brothers before looking back to Jon and Sansa.

"Yes. She's the reason why we're here… why we had to abandon our home." Lya replied.

Jon looked to Sansa who looked on at the children with curiosity.

"I met Arya Stark in the woods. I was returning needle to her… she taught me how to use a sword…" Lya began lightly. "Then… she followed me home and…"

"Be quiet Lya." Ed all of a sudden said in high valyrian.

"We should tell them the truth!" Lyanna replied back in high valyrian also.

"No. Don't tell them. Not yet…" Ed shot back.

"He is our father and I think we can trust him… I think he can help us."

"Him yes but her…" Ed looked at Sansa feeling a slight hint of distrust. "I'm not so sure…"

Both Jon and Sansa could not understand what they were saying.

"We cannot understand high valyrian." Sansa interrupted. "Please continue with your story in the common tongue."

"We wish to speak with our father alone." Ed replied.

Sansa gave Jon an apprehensive look.

"In our family we do not keep secrets." Sansa spoke, looking back at them sternly. "Whatever you say to Jon you can say to me too."

Ed now glared at Sansa. Lya smiled a trusting smile. She liked the idea of not keeping secrets after her mother had been keeping the biggest one from them their whole lives.

"Sansa…" Jon said softly. "Just give us a moment please."

Sansa narrowed her eyes at Jon not exactly wanting to leave the room or to be left out of the details… but her brother gave her that look. A look of trust. She nodded.

"Alright." Sansa said. "I'll be just outside."

Sansa reluctantly left the room. Once the door was closed, Jon kneeled down in front of his children to be at height level with them.

"We're alone now." Jon spoke. "Speak as you like."

"I'm sorry… but… I just don't know if I can trust Aunt Sansa." Ed said to Jon.

"That's alright… I understand the feeling." Jon replied with a smirk. Sansa had once betrayed his trust by telling all the Lord's and Lady's of Westeros about his true heritage after he had strictly told her not to.

"We were raised in a small village just outside of Pentos by our mother… Daenerys Targaryen… but… we never knew who she truly was… we never knew that she was… you know… the one they call the Mad Queen…" Ed spoke.

"We lived like normal citizens… raised by our mama and Jai's papa, Tai…" Lya spoke. "I met Arya Stark in the woods one day and she taught me how to use needle. I didn't know who she was and she didn't know who I was. After training with her one night she followed me home and… and…" Lya was on the verge of tears. "It think she figured it out because… she killed Tai…"

Jon could hardly fathom what he was hearing.

"We found out who our mother truly was that night… she said… she said that she didn't want us to pay for her crimes… so… she sent us away on a dragon to come to our father…"

Jon rubbed his palms together… trying to understand everything.

"Where is your mother now?" he quietly asked in a deeply concerned way that the children noticed.

"We don't know… Arya came back with a dozen men and all the villagers… for all we know… she could be…" Ed couldn't finish his sentence. He scrunched his fists tightly.

"You have to help us save her…" Jai spoke desperately. "She's not the Mad Queen… she's mama… she's sweet and kind and the most beautiful lady in the world…"

Jon slightly smiled with tears in his eyes. That last statement was indeed very true.

"I…" Jon hesitantly spoke.

Jon thought about Arya… he thought about Sansa and Bran… He thought about Daenerys and their children standing in front of him pleading for his help…

"I'll do all I can to try to save her."

The children looked at Jon appreciatively with admiration.

"I may have to leave… to King's Landing." Jon said, standing up straight.

"I'm going with you." Ed firmly stated taking a step forward.

"You should really stay here… with your brother and your sister… Sansa will look after you."

"I'm going with you." Ed stubbornly replied with a serious look on his face.

Jon could tell that Ed had inherited his mother's stubbornness and Targaryen temperament. He knew that his son was strong and would not take no for an answer. He didn't know if he was making the right decision but he nodded.

"Alright. The journey will be rough. It will be dangerous. You have to promise to listen to me... Every word, every command I give I want you to take very seriously."

"Of course." Ed honestly replied with a smile. "It will give us time to get to know each other too."

Jon smiled and nodded in agreement.

On the other side of the door… Sansa was listening to every word… her heart had never felt so disappointed. Jon had chosen to save a foreign Queen whore over his family.
