Authoress Note: Welcome to Chapter 5 of Temporary Home. How is Aeron going to react when Sam and Dean go home to Lawrence Kansas? Will she give the boys time to themselves? Or will Sam drag her along for the ride? Without further ado Chapter 5.

Chapter 5

Dean was driving the Impala down the road. "Come on, Sam, I'm begging you. This is so stupid."

"Why?" Sam asked, looking over at Dean.

Aeron didn't hear anything that was going on around her. She was busy reading a book and listening to her Ipod that was looking a little worse for wear.

"Going to visit mom's grave? She doesn't even have a grave, there was no body left after the fire."

"She has a headstone." Sam told his brother.

"Yeah, put up by her uncle, a man we've never even met. So you want to go and pay your respects to a slab of granite put up by a stranger?"

Sam let out a sigh. "Dean, that's not the point."

"Well then, enlighten me, Sam."

"It's not about a body, or, or a casket. It's about her memory, okay?"

"Hmmm…"

"And after dad it just… just feels like the right thing to do."

"It's irrational is what it is."

"Look, man. No one asked you to come."

"Why don't we swing by the roadhouse instead? I mean, we haven't heard anything about the demon lately, we should be hunting that son of a bitch down."

"That's a good idea, you should. Just drop me off, I'll hitch a ride, and I'll meet you and Aeron there tomorrow."

"Right. To be… stuck with those people, making awkward small talk until you show up? No thanks."

Sam shook his head.

"Why drag Aeron along for this?"

"I thought that it would give her a chance to look around." Sam said looking out the window.

Dean shook his head. "I have a feeling that you are being sweet to her because you like her."

Sam cleared his throat. He didn't answer what Dean had said. No it couldn't be true. He really didn't know much about her still, but he was learning more and more about her. She was a friend that he really could count on. He couldn't believe that Dean was thinking that something was going on between the two of them.

SNSNSN

Sam was near his mother's grave stone and Dean was at another noticing that something was wrong with it.

Aeron was leaning against the Impala waiting for the boys patiently. She ran her hands through her hair messing up her strawberry blonde hair. She looked over at Dean and saw that there was something indeed wrong where he was at. She wiped her hands on her pants and walked towards Dean. "Dean… what is it?"

"Look at this."

Aeron looked at the circle that was around the grave. Dead ground. "That's not normal, that's for sure."

Dean swallowed the lump in his throat. He nodded his head. "Yeah. Something is going on here."

"I have to say so." Aeron muttered. "This isn't good."

SNSNSN

Aeron stood with Sam while Dean was talking to someone.

Dean came over to Sam and Aeron. "Angela Mason. She was a student at the local college. Funeral was three days ago."

"And?"

"And? You saw her grave. Everything dead around it, in a perfect circle? You don't think that's a little weird?"

"Maybe the groundskeeper went a little aggro with the pesticide."

"No, I asked him, I asked him. No pesticide, no chemicals. Nobody can explain it."

"Okay, so what are you thinking?"

"I dunno. Unholy ground maybe?"

"Un…"

"What?"

Aeron shook her head.

"If something evil happened there, it could easily poison the ground. Remember the farm outside of Cedar Rapids?"

"Yeah, bu…"

"Could be the sign of a demonic presence. Or the Angela girl's spirit if it's powerful enough."

Sam nodded his head and turned away.

"Well don't get too excited, you might pull something."

"Oh come on Dean. Just stumbling onto a hunt like this?" Aeron said, looking at him. "When we weren't even looking for one. In your home town? Come on, this is weird. Hell even I have to admit that."

"So?"

"So? Are you sure this is about a hunt, and not about something else?" Sam questioned looking back at Dean.

"What else would it be about?"

Aeron groaned.

"You know, just forget about it." He said walking towards the car.

"You believe what you want, Sam, but I let you drag my ass out here with Ryan. The least we could do is check this out."

"Yeah. Fine."

"Girl's dad works in town, he's a professor at the school." Dean told the two of them.

Aeron let out a sigh. "I guess we have no choice in the matter."

SNSNSN

Dean, Sam and Aeron went to the school.

Dean knocked on the door of Dr. Mason's office. "Dr. Mason?" He asked once the door was opened.

"Yes?" Dr. Mason asked, looking at the three of them.

"I'm Sam. This is Dean and this is Aeron. We were friends of Angela's."

Aeron patted Sam's hand. "We wanted to offer our condolences." Aeron said, offering a small smile to Dr. Mason.

"Please, come in."

The three of them walked into the room.

Dr. Mason closed the door. He sat down and showed them a photo album.

Dean was looking through an old book that was there in the room.

"She was beautiful." Sam said looking at the photo album with Aeron and Dr. Mason.

"Yes, she was."

Dean looked at a bookshelf. "This is an unusual book." He showed the book that he had been looking through.

Aeron got up from her seat and walked over to Dean to get a closer look at this book that Dean had found.

Mr. Mason looked at the book. "It's ancient Greek. I teach a course."

"So a car accident, that's, that's horrible."

"Angie was only a mile away from home when, uh…"

"It's gotta be hard. Losing someone like that. Sometimes it's like they're st...still around. Almost like you can sense their presence."

Sam looked at Dean concerned.

"Have you ever felt anything like that?"

Aeron swallowed the lump in her throat.

"I do, as a matter of fact."

Sam still looked at Dean. "That's perfectly normal, Dr. Mason. Especially with what you're going through."

"You know, I still phone her. And the phone's ringing before I remember that, uh… Family's everything you know? Angie was the most important thing in my life and now I, I, I'm just lost without her."

"We're very sorry." Sam said softly.

"Truly very sorry." Aeron said even softer than Sam. She swallowed the lump that was in her throat. No parent needed to bury their children before themselves. Hell she saw that look on her grandfather's face when he lost his child, her father, and then followed by Darrel.

SNSNSN

Dean paced back and forth in the hotel room.

Aeron rested her elbows on her knees looking at Dean.

"I'm telling you, there's something going on here, we just haven't found it yet."

Sam let out a sigh. "Dean, so far you've got a patch of dead grass and nothing."

"Well, something turned that grave into unholy ground." Dean complained going back to his pacing.

"There's no reason for it to be unholy ground. Angela Mason was a nice girl who died in a car crash, that's not exactly vengeful spirit material. You heard her father."

"Yeah, well, maybe daddy doesn't know everything there is to know about his little angel, huh?"

"Dean what the hell?" Aeron said looking up at Dean. Her body went rigid. What the hell was he doing?

"You know what? We never should have bothered that poor man. We shouldn't even be here anymore." Sam said, narrowing his eyes at Dean.

Aeron stood up from the couch.

"So what, Sam? We just bail? Without even figuring out what's going on?"

"I think I know what's going on here. It's the only reason I went along with you this far."

"What are you talking about?"

"This is about mom's grave."

Aeron shook her head. "If you two are going to fight I'm not going to be dealing with this." She said, grabbing her coat, slipping it on and leaving the two of them to argue it out. She hated it when the brothers argued. She rubbed her face. Everything always seemed to be falling apart at the seams. This even now was falling apart at the seams.

Dean came out of the motel room.

Aeron looked at him.

"I'm going to go and get a drink." He told her.

"Okay… alone?" She asked softly.

"Nah. You're coming with me." He said, grabbing her arm.

Aeron looked at him in even more confusion. "What the hell."

"Sam needs time to think of what he said to me."

"Okay… but why bring me."

"We have to start getting along." He told her to take her to the Impala.

"Okay, but you are still going to get mad at me from time to time even if we try to get along."

Dean scoffed. "I know Ryan." He told her as he got into the driver's seat.

Aeron carefully got into the car.

"And besides perhaps you can tell me why you and Sammy are so buddy-buddy with one another."

"He just asked the right questions."

"Like."

"You have to ask the right questions Dean. That's all Dean."

Dean backed the car up and they were off to the bar. Perhaps he would finally understand why the two of them were so close.

SPNSPN

Dean helped Aeron into Angela's home. He began to poke around.

"Dean I swear." She hissed at him.

"Oh come on. Where is your sense of adventure?" He questioned looking at her.

"I really don't want to be arrested." She said as she saw that he picked something up from her dresser. He slipped it into his pocket. He pulled Aeron with him into the hallway. He saw a reflection of Lindsey Angela's roommate.

"Who the hell are you two?" She demanded turning and shutting herself in her room.

"Wait, wait, wait, hold on!"

"I'm calling 911!" She shouted.

Aeron looked at Dean. "Do something." She hissed into his ear. "I don't care, just do something before we get hauled off to jail."

"I'm Angela's cousin!" Dean shouted.

"What?"

"Yeah, her dad sent me over to, uh, pick up her stuff, my name's Alan? Alan Stanwick? My girlfriend Ryanne Aarons."

Lindsey opened the door. "Her dad didn't say that you were coming."

"Well, I mean," He held up a set of keys that he had swiped. "How else would I have the key to your place?"

SNSNSN

Aeron and Dean sat next to one another looking like a proper couple in the eyes of Lindsey. They didn't want to tip her off that they weren't dating each other. It would end badly and it would also be the thing that would leave the two of them leaving there with a set of silver handcuffs and off to jail.

Dean handed Lindsey a kleenex. "So. I'm sure you got a view of Angela that none of her family got to see. Tell me, what, what was she like? I mean, what was she really like?"

"She was great. Just great. I mean, she was so…"

"Great."

"Yeah."

"Yeah." Dean handed her another tissue. "Here you go. You two must have been really close huh?" He said, wrapping his arm around Aeron.

Aeron shifted a bit uncomfortable with Dean doing this, but they had to pretend. She hated doing this. She hated pretending being girlfriend. It was something that she had learned was becoming an everyday thing when it was a case.

"We were. But it's not just her, it's Matt."

"Who?" The two of them asked in confusion.

"Angela's boyfriend."

"Right, Matt. What about him." Dean questioned the poor crying girl.

"He killed himself last night. Cut his own throat. Who does that?" The girl said softly.

"That's terrible."

Aeron was confused. Most people didn't do things like that. Not slit their throats. Wrists yes, throats not so much.

"He was talking about Angela's death pretty hard, and I guess… I mean, he'd been messed up about it for days."

"Messed up how?"

"He kept saying that he saw her everywhere."

"Well, I'm, I'm sure that's normal with everything that he was going through."

"No, he said he saw her. As in, an acid trip or something."

"Were Angela and Matt a happy couple? I mean, is there any reason Angela would be angry with him?"

"What? No, of course not, why do you ask?"

"Just asking. Where did Matt live?" Dean asked curiously.

SNSNSN

Dean and Aeron arrived back at the motel. Dean walked up to the room and Dean opened the door startling Sam.

Sam quickly turned the tv off and tossed the remote down. "Hey."

The two of them entered the motel room slowly.

Dean looked at the tv and back at Sam.

"What?"

Aeron shook her head.

"Awkward." Dean said, clearing his throat.

"Where in the hell were you two?"

"Working my imaginary case." Dean said looking at Sam

Aeron closed the door.

"Yeah? And?"

"Well, you were right, I didn't find much."

Sam nodded sympathetically.

"Yeah. Except Angela's boyfriend died last night. Slit his own throat. But, you know, that's normal. Uh, let's see what else. Oh, he was seeing Angela everywhere before he died. But you know, I'm sure that's just me transferring my own feelings."

Aeron smacked Dean's arm.

"Ow."

She looked at him with narrowed eyes.

"Okay, I get it. I'm sorry, maybe there is something going on here." Sam apologized to Dean.

"Maybe? Sam, I know how to do my job, despite what you might think."

Aeron shook her head as she sat down on the couch. Really they were going to start fighting again? It was becoming annoying to her. She understood yes fighting was good, but they needed to get long enough to solve this.

"We should check out the guy's apartment."

"We just came from there." Aeron said, looking up at him. "Dead planets. Just like the cemetery. And a dead goldfish too."

"So, unholy ground." Sam said to himself.

"Maybe. I'm still not getting that powerful angry spirit vibe from Angela." Dean said, crossing the room and picking up the little pink book. "I have been reading this, though."

Aeron groaned seeing the diary. She shook her head.

"You stole the girl's diary?"

"It wasn't my idea to take her diary." Aeron said, shaking her head.

"Yeah, Sam. And if anything the girl's a little too nice."

"So what do you want to do?" Sam asked, looking at his brother. What the hell was going on in Dean's mind?

"Keep digging, talk to more of her friends."

"Do you have any names?"

"Are you kidding me? I have bestest friend in the whole wide world."

Aeron simply shook her head.

Sam let out a sigh. "Alright. Let's see what it says."

Dean smiled at that. He would get to the bottom of this for sure.

SPNSPN

Neil looked at the three hunters that were at his door. "I didn't realize the college employed grief counselors."

"Oh yeah. You, you talk, we listen. Or maybe throw in a therapeutic collage, whatever jump-starts the healing." Dean said, offering a smile to him.

"Well, I think I'm okay. Thanks."

Aeron looked at the young man in confusion. He really didn't look like he was grieving for his friend Angela.

"Well, you heard what happened to Matt Harrison, right?" Sam asked, looking at Neil.

"Yeah, I did."

"Well, we just wanted to make sure you were okay."

"Grief can make people do crazy things." Aeron said with a small smile.

"Look, I'm sorry about what happened to him. I am. But if Matt killed himself it wasn't cause of grief."

Aeron blinked in confusion. "Why would he commit suicide then?"

"It was guilt. Angie's death was Matt's fault and he knew it."

"How was Matt responsible?" Sam asked, tilting his head to the side.

"Well, she really loved the guy. But the night of the accident she walked in on him with another girl. She was really torn up, that's why she crashed the car. Um, look, I gotta get ready for work, so thanks for the concern, but… seriously, I'll be okay."

Dean turns and looks at Sam and Aeron.

The three of them walked down from Neil's door.

"Well, that vengeful spirit theory's starting to make a little more sense, I mean, hell hath no fury…" Dean said, rubbing his neck.

"So if Angela got her revenge on Matt, you think it's over?" Sam asked, looking at Dean.

"Well, there's one way to be sure." Dean said, looking at the two of them.

"Yeah? What's that?"

The three of them got into the car.

"Burn the bones."

Sam looked at Dean with wide eyes. "Burn the bones? Are you high?"

Dean thought about it.

"The girl just died last week." Aeron said, narrowing her eyes at Dean.

"So?"

"So, there's not gonna be bones. There's gonna be a ripe, rotting body in the coffin."

"Since when are you afraid to get dirty? Huh?"

Aeron shook her head. "I have a very bad feeling about this."

SNSNSN

Sam and Dean dug at Angela's gravesite.

Dean cleared the rest of the dirt off. He turned to Sam. "Ladies first." He told his little brother.

Sam handed his flashlight to Dean. "Hold that." He grumbled. He opened the coffin wincing not knowing what they were going to see. It was empty.

The three of them looked at one another.

"Well then… that tells us something is very very wrong here." Aeron said, crossing her arms.

The three of them continued to look at the empty coffin.

"They buried the body four days ago." Dean said, looking at Sam.

"I don't get it." Sam said, shaking his head. He noticed something was carved inside of the coffin. "Look."

"What's that?"

"I'm not sure."

"I've seen these kinds of symbols before."

"Me too." Aeron said, shaking her head.

SNSNSN

The three of them went to Dr. Mason's office.

Dean pounded on the door hard.

Aeron shook her head.

"Dean, take it easy, okay?"

Dr. Mason opened the door. "You're Angie's friends, right?"

"Dr. Mason…" Sam said gently, trying not to alert him.

"We need to talk." Dean said harshly.

Aeron let out a sigh. This was going to be one of the things that was going to end very badly.

"Come in."

"Thanks."

SNSNSN

The three of them came into Dr. Mason's office.

"You teach Ancient Greek. Tell me, what are these?" Dean asked, showing Dr. Mason the paper that he had copied of the symbols from the coffin.

"I don't understand." Dr. Mason said, looking at the three of them. "You said this had something to do with Angela."

"It does. Please, just humor me."

"They're part of an ancient Greek divination ritual."

"Used for necromancy, right?" Dean questioned.

"That's right."

Aeron couldn't help, but turned into Sam not wanting to hear what Dean was saying.

"See, before we came over here we stopped by the library and did a little homework ourselves. Apparently they used rituals like this one for communicating with the dead. Even bringing corpses back to life. Full-on zombie action."

"Yes. I mean, according to the legends. Now, what's this all about?"

Aeron and Sam looked at Dr. Mason's face. The two of them were feeling very very wrong about this.

"I think you know."

"Dean." Sam said softly.

"Look, I get it. Okay? There are people that I would give anything to see again. But what gives you the right?" Dean hissed.

"Dean!" Aeron and Sam both yelled.

"What are you talking about?" Dr. Mason asked.

"What's dead should stay dead!"

"Stop it!" Sam yelled at Dean.

"What you brought back isn't even your daughter anymore. These things are vicious, they're violent, they're so nasty they rot the ground around them. I mean, come on, haven't you seen PEt Cemetery?"

"You're insane."

"Where is she?"

"Get out of my house." Dr. Mason said getting his phone and began to dial.

Dean knocked it from his hand. "I know you're hiding her somewhere. Where is she?!"

"This is getting out of hand Sam." Aeron said softly.

"Dean! Stop, that's enough! Dean, look!" Sam said, grabbing onto his brother's jacket and pointing to the planets by the window. "Beautiful living plants."

"We're leaving." Aeron said softly, shoving Dean towards the door.

"I'm calling the police."

"Sir, we're sorry. We won't bother you again." Sam said following Aeron and Dean out the door. "What the hell is the matter with you, Dean?"

"Back off."

"That man is innocent! He didn't deserve that!"

"Okay, so she's not here, maybe he's keeping her somewhere else."

"Dean knocks it off." Aeron said softly.

"Enough okay?" Sam said softly.

"Sam, Ryan, I know what I am doing."

Aeron shook her head.

"No, you don't. At all. Dean, I don't scare easy, but man, you're scaring the crap out of me."

"Don't be overdramatic, Sam."

"You're lucky this turned out to be a real case. Because if it wasn't you would have just found something else to kill."

"Wha…"

"You're on edge Dean." Aeron said softly.

"You're erratic… except for when you're hunting, because then you're down right scary. You're tail spinning, man. And you refuse to talk about it and you won't let me help you."

"I can take care of myself, thanks."

"No you can't. And you know what? You're the only one who thinks you should have to. You don't have to handle this on your own, Dean, no one can."

"Sam, if you bring up dad's death one more time I swear…"

Aeron scoffed. She stuck her hands into her pockets and walked away from the arguing brothers. She had enough. She didn't want to hear the fighting between the two of them. She now was thinking about leaving and not continuing hunting with the two of them.

The two boys came over to the car.

"Done fighting?" She questioned.

Dean and Sam rubbed the back of their necks.

"Sorry about that." Sam said softly.

"Come on, we 've got work to do." Aeron said getting into the back seat of the Impala.

SPNSPN

They had gone back to the motel that they were staying at. Dean was pacing back and forth. Sam was on the bed looking through his dad's journal. Aeron was looking through her grandfather's journal to see if she could find anything in there. Maybe her grandfather had faced something.

"We can't just waste it with a headshot?" Dean asked, looking at Sam.

"Dude. You've been watching way too many Romero flicks." Sam said, looking at Dean.

"You're telling me there's no lore on how to smoke 'em?" He sat at the table by the window.

Sam let out a sigh. "No, Dean, I'm telling you there's too much. I mean, there's a hundred different legends on the walking dead, but they all have different methods for killing them." He said joining Dean at the table. "Some say setting them on fire, uh, one said, where is it?" Sam looked from the book. "Right here. Feeding their hearts to wild dogs. That's my personal favorite. I mean, who knows what's real and what's myth?"

"Is there anything they all have in common?"

Sam shook his head. "No. But a few said silver might work."

"Silver's a start."

"Yeah. But now how are we going to find Angela?"

"We've got to figure out the person who brought her back."

"Any ideas?"

"Not her dad, that's for sure." Dean said, running his hand through his hair.

"Might be Neil." Aeron said, looking at the brothers.

"Neil?"

"Yeah."

"Yep." Dean got up from his seat and went across the room and picked up the pink diary.

"How'd you two come up with that?"

"Just the way that boy was acting." Aeron pointed out to Sam.

"And you've got your journal, I've got mine." Dean said, waving the pink diary.

Aeron rolled her eyes.

"Neil's a real shoulder to cry on, he understands what I'm going through with Matt."

"Oh sounds like a lovesick girl there." Aeron said, rolling her eyes.

Dean looked at her. "And you have never been in love?"

Aeron shook her head.

"There's more in here where that came from, it's got Unrequited Ducky Love written all over it."

"Yeah, but that doesn't mean he brought her back from the dead."

"Hmm. Did I mention he's Professor Mason's TA? Has access to all the same books."

"Well that means we gotta get him out of there before he ends up getting himself killed." Aeron said, getting up. She grabbed her coat, slipping it on over her black tank that she wore.

SNSNSN

They broke into Neil's house that night.

"Hello? Neil? It's your grief counselors, we've come to hug." Dean said as he pulled out his gun.

Sam and Aeron looked at it.

"Silver bullets?" Sam asked.

"Yeah," Dean confirmed. "Enough to make her rattle like a change purse."

They went through the house looking for Neil and maybe Angela. They saw wilted plants. They found the basement door.

Dean nodded his head. "Unless it's where he keeps his porn."

"Dean really? Is that all you can think about is porn?" She said with a groan.

Dean winked at her.

Aeron shoved him a bit.

Sam opened the door.

Dean walked down the stairs slowly with Sam and Aeron following him.

The three of them looked around. It was empty for sure.

"Sure looks like a zombie's den to me."

Sam let out a sigh. "Yeah. An empty one. You think Angela's going after somebody?"

Aeron touched the grate. "Dean."

Dean came over and pulled the great aside. "Nah, I think she went out to rent Beaches."

Aeron turned and smacked him.

"Ow."

"Look, smartass, she might kill someone. We gotta find her, Dean."

"Yeah. Alright, she, uh, she clipped Matt because he was cheating, right?"

"Yeah."

"Dean, get to your point already." Aeron said, going towards the stairs.

"Well, it takes two to, you know, have hardcore sex."

Sam tilted his head to the side.

"I don't know, it just seemed that, uh,"

"Oh. Angela's roommate."

"Right. She was really broken up when we were there."

"We better get there quickly."

SNSNSN

"Come on." Aeron said, running up towards the house.

The boys were right behind her.

Bang bang bang!

Dean fired his gun again right into Angela's chest.

Angela screamed and bolted out the window.

Dean quickly followed her out the window.

Sam rushed over to Lindsay. "Gotcha. I gotcha." He said softly to her.

Dean came back through the window.

Aeron ground. "She got away?"

"Damn, that dead chick can run."

"Did you think that the movies would apply here Dean? Like Jason in Friday the 13th?" She questioned him.

Dean shook his head.

"What now?" Sam asked, looking at Dean.

"I say we go and have a little chat with Neil." Dean told the two of them.

The three of them quickly got into the Impala and they were on their way to Neil's home.

Sam had his dad's journal opened. "So the silver bullets, they did something right?" Sam questioned.

"Yeah, something, but not enough. What else have you got?"

"Um, okay, besides silver we have nailing the undead back into their grave beds. It's mentioned a few times."

Aeron gasped from the back seat.

Sam looked back at her. "What is it?"

Aeron grabbed her brother's old journal. "I forgot there was a little info in my brother Darrel's old journal." She said opening it quickly. "Continue what you were saying. I will see if I can find it."

Sam nodded his head. "It's probably where the whole vampire staking lore comes from." Sam told Dean.

"Their grave beds?"

"Yeah."

"Are you serious? And how the hell are we going to get Angela back to the cemetery?" Dean questioned.

"Sam's right Dean. Darrel fought one of the undead." She shook her head. "I can't believe I didn't remember it." She saw the date. "Oh…"

"What is it?" Dean questioned.

"Well the date that he has written down for it… it would explain why I didn't remember it." She closed her eyes.

"What Aeron? What the hell are you talking about."

Sam looked at her. He saw the tears falling from her eyes. He knew what she meant by what she had said. "You hadn't told him yet?"

"No… you were the one that asked the right questions."

"Will someone fill me in, damn it." Dean growled out.

"I was severely sick at the time of this hunt. I was in the back seat of his car while he dealt with it." Aeron told him. She didn't tell him the entire story. It was none of his business to know the whole story yet. Dean didn't trust her. She knew that to be true because of how he was acting when Gordon was around. He never told her sorry or anything.

"I am sure that we can come up with something." Sam said softly.

SNSNSN

Sam, Dean, and Aeron came into Neil's little office that he had.

Neil looked at them nervously. "What are you guys doing here?"

"You know, I've heard of people doing some pretty desperate things to get laid, but you… you take the cake." Dean said, looking at Neil.

"Really Dean?" Aeron said, looking at the elder Winchester.

"Okay. Who are you guys?" He asked, looking at the three of them. He saw how they stood so they were confident people and they looked ragged this time around.

"You might want to ask Angela that question." Dean told Neil.

"What?"

Aeron rolled her eyes. "Don't lie."

"We know what you did. The ritual? Everything." Sam told Neil what they knew.

"You're crazy."

"Takes one to know something crazy." Aeron shot back, crossing her arms.

"Your girlfriend's past her expiration date and we're crazy?" Dean gestured to himself, Sam, and Aeron. "When someone's gone they should stay gone. You don't mess with that kind of stuff."

"Angela killed Matt. She tried to kill Lindsey." Sam told Neil.

"I don't know what you're talking about."

Aeron rolled her eyes. "Oh yes you do there boy."

Dean stomped over to the other side of the desk and hauled Neil up by his collar.

Aeron shook her head.

"Hey! No more crap, Neil. This blood is on your hands. Now. Me and him and her can make this right, but you've gotta tell us where she is. Tell us!" Dean demanded.

"My house. She's at my house."

Dean released him. He saw several of the plants were dead. He looked at Neil. "Are you sure about that?"

Neil nodded his head looking around nervously.

Dean looked past him and saw the closet. "Listen. It doesn't really matter where she is. There's only one way to stop her. We've got to perform another ritual over her grave, to reverse the one that you did."

Aeron moved forward. "We're going to need some black roots, some, some scar weed, some candles… it's very complicated, but it will get the job done." Aeron said, crossing her arms. "Then she'll be dead again."

"You should come with us." Dean said, looking at Neil. "I'm serious, Neil. Leave with us. Right now."

"No. No."

Dean leaned in, lowering his voice some. "Listen to me. Get out of here as soon as you can. But most of all, be cool. No sudden movements. Don't make her mad." Dean looked at Aeron and Sam. "Let's go."

Aeron, Sam, and Dean left. The three of them walked down the stairs.

"I hope that your little idea that you have Aeron will work." Dean told her.

Aeron rolled her eyes. "Not the first time with one of the undead Deano." She said getting into the back of the car.

"You said you didn't remember."

"I read my brother's journal alright Dean? He was very detailed when he wrote things." Aeron said, crossing her arms in a huff. She didn't want to talk any more about her brother and the case that they had with the undead when she was younger. "Now come on, let's gank her before she ganks someone else."

The three of them were lighting candles.

"You really think that this is going to work Ry?" Sam asked, looking over at her.

Aeron wiped her hands on her pants. "It's the only thing that I could think of. She'll probably come to make sure that we don't kill her."

The three of them heard a noise. Sam stood up and pulled his gun from the small of his back where he had it hidden in his pants. He walked towards the direction of the sound.

"Be careful Sam." Aeron called as she lit another candle.

Sam waved behind his back letting Aeron know that he had heard her. Sam froze when he heard something behind him. He turned and pointed the gun at Angela.

"Wait! It's not what you think. I didn't ask to be brought back. But it's still me. I'm still a person. Please." Angela pleaded with him in hopes that he wouldn't shoot at her.

Sam fired the gun hitting her square in the forehead.

Angela screamed.

Sam bolted towards the grave. Sam felt her tackle him causing him to land hard on the ground.

Angela grabbed his hair, twisting his head back some.

Dean fired his gun startling her to standing up. Dean shot her several more times causing her to back up closer and closer to her grave. He fired one more time and she landed in the coffin.

"Dean!" Aeron tossed him the metal stake.

Dean caught it with ease and ran it into the grave. He pinned the stake in her chest.

Angela screamed and then went limp.

Dean pulled back panting. He wiped his face. "What's dead should stay dead."

SNSNSN

The three of them smoothed the dirt over the grave.

"Rest in peace." Sam said tiredly.

"Yeah. For good this time, okay." Dean said, wiping his face off with his hand.

The three of them turned away from the grave.

Sam grunted in pain as he lifted his shovel over his shoulder. "You know, that whole fake ritual thing, luring Angela into the cemetery… That was smart Aeron."

"I am just glad that two of you thought it was a good idea."

"But did we really have to use me as bait?"

"Now… that wasn't my idea." Aeron said, looking at Sam before looking over at Dean.

"I figured you were more her type. You know, she had pretty crappy taste in guys." Dean said with a smile.

"I think she broke my hand."

Dean laughed. "You're just too fragile. We'll get it looked at later." He turned and looked back at his mother's grave.

Sam looked at Dean. "You want to stay for a while?"

"No."

The three of them dumped their things into the trunk and then got into the car.

Dean drove out of the graveyard and down the road out of town. Dean scowled.

Sam looked at Dean in concern.

Dean pulled the car off of the road on the opposite side on the shoulder. Dean killed the car and got out of it. He sat on the hood.

"Go Sam." Aeron said softly.

Sam got out of the car. "Dean, what is it?"

"I'm sorry."

"You… for what?"

"The way I've been acting."

Sam crossed over to sit on the hood but didn't.

"And for dad. He was your dad too. And it's my fault he's gone."

"What are you talking about?"

"I know you've been thinking it… so have I. It doesn't take a genius to figure it out. Back at the hospital, I made a full recovery. It was a miracle. And five minutes later dad's dead and the colt's gone."

"Dean."

"You can't tell me there's not a connection there. I don't know how the demon was involved. I don't know how the whole thing went down exactly. But dad's dead because of me. And that much I do know."

"We don't know that. Not for sure."

"Sam." Dean felt the tears fall from his eyes. He could no longer hold them.

Aeron got out of the car. She stood far back listening to the brothers.

"You and dad… you're the most important people in my life. And now… I never should have come back, Sam. It wasn't natural. And now look what's come of it. I was dead. And I should have stayed dead. You wanted to know how I was feeling. Well, that's it."

Sam nodded his head.

"So tell me. What could you possibly say to make that alright?"

Aeron turned away and brought her hand up to her mouth. Tears slipped from her eyes. She knew what Dean was talking about. Hell she had gone through the same thing. She had told Sam and he never told anyone else. There wasn't even anything that she could tell the elder brother. It wouldn't get any easier. Hell he was supposed to be dead just like she was supposed to be over five years ago. He was going to have to live with this just like she was. Maybe it would get easier for him. She didn't know. But she was going to try and help Dean out where she could.

This is the end of Chapter 5 of Temporary Home. What possibly could happen in this coming episode? Well I can say that things are going to get a little interesting that is for sure. I can't say things are going to heat up between Sam and Aeron, but there will be a bonding moment between Aeron and Dean in this episode. I won't say where in this episode, but I can say that it is very much needed. It will be adding more to their love hate relationship. Please leave a review and I will update soon with the next chapter. Until next time.
