Chapter 1: Five Wives, One Husband

I woke up with a head-splitting headache. I kept my eyes closed, afraid if I were to open them… bad things would happen. I didn't know what I was thinking to be honest. I could faintly hear a heartbeat monitor beeping beside me and I felt myself laying on something soft. Quite comfortable, actually.

Slowly, I opened my eyes. I was in a white room and my other arm felt heavier than the other. Looking at the aforementioned arm, I noticed that it had been wrapped in bandages. "I survived!" I thought to myself.

I found myself in a hospital gown and covered by a white blanket. I lay there for a solid minute before getting up. My whole body still felt numb. My room, for some reason, has a window looking out to a hallway…? Another room perhaps? A woman seemed to notice that I had just woken up and picked up a phone and called someone.

Looking beside me, I noticed that my clothes were neatly folded and placed on a table beside my bed. It looked clean though the rip in my jeans was still present. I let out a deep sigh as I lay back on my bed.

Not long after, a man in a lab coat entered the room. I shot up and looked at him. He looked surprised to see that I was up. He looked like that one gigachad professor from the upcoming games but with the chadness toned down.

"Oh, you're finally awake. Alright then," Not gonna lie, that kinda caught me off guard. I'm not used to speaking English in public places, especially with strangers since we use the Malaysian language instead since, ya know, we're in Malaysia. I didn't have any problems speaking English in public, however. Come to think of it, why did he use English, anyway?

"Where am I? What the hell happened? Ugh, my throat hurts," I asked frantically. My voice cracked as I said that and my throat felt like it was rubbing against a piece of sandpaper. "Woah, there. Take it easy first. Firstly, I'm Doctor Cardivalle. Can I please have your name?" he asked as he handed me a water bottle.

Calming down and then sipping from the water bottle, I then replied to him, "Benedict. Sorry mate, but that's all you're getting. You can just call me Ben if you want to," Now, I've got to admit, that was kind of rude of me.

"This water tastes hella funky."

"Okay, that's good enough. At least I have something to call you by…" He says as he flips through the pages of his notes. "Let's get straight to the point, shall we? So, we are at Sandgem Hospital. We've fixed your arms and legs though they are healing a little slower than expected. Normally, it would've taken about 10 days to fully recover but currently, we're expecting you to recover fully within the next 12 to 14 days. The shard went pretty deep, but luckily it didn't do any permanent damage. Can you please try to lift your arm?" he explained. I rightfully complied and felt slight pain and numbness restricting my movement.

"Yep. It still hurts… a little bit… It feels weird too," I said, forgetting what numbness felt like.. "Sandgem? Mate, where the fuck are we? It does sound familiar though…"

"Try moving your legs." Even with the help of painkillers (probably), my legs still hurt a little bit. I guess running while having an aluminium metal stuck in your leg muscle does that to you. "It's the same as my arms."

"Great. You're going to have to stay here for about eh… 8 to 14 more days, 6 if you're lucky, and you'll see yourself out of this place," He clicked his pen and begins writing on his notepad.

"Sorry, but how many days have I been out?" I asked. It definitely doesn't feel like a lot of days have passed.

"You've been unconscious for quite a while. About… three days? " he said. I was taken aback by that statement. God, no wonder I felt like shit. "Ah that's coo- Wait! Three days?! What happened then? " As I asked that, I saw a pink spherical creature walking past the window.

"…What?"

"Yo… what is that?" I gestured at the window. At first, I really thought I was hallucinating but can you really blame me for that? They might have drugged me so much to the point that I am borderline insane now. "Oh yeah! That's Chandra, the Chansey. She works here,"

"A what again?" I lightly slapped my cheeks. I could not believe my eyes. I was speechless. Am I dreaming? "A Chansey…?" I had to process all of that information before realising that it is a Pokemon.

"Tha- That's… how…?"

Deep in my thoughts, I tried to piece everything together yet nothing seemed to click as if I'm playing with non-matching jigsaw puzzles. For a second there, I even considered faking amnesia or agnosia but knowing my 'no-commitment-ass', I knew that was out of the question.

"...Ben. Hey Ben? Are you listening?" I snapped back to reality and looked up at him sheepishly. I rubbed the back of my head with my other uninjured arm. "Ye– Yea… That's a… Chansey… Sorry, I– I must have thought of it as something else…"

My heart was racing yet there was nothing I can do about it as a bead of sweat run down my forehead. "Right… Moving on…" He then continued to write on his notepad. "Here's some painkillers and some medication,"

"If you have any discomfort, please do not remove the bandages. We'll remove and change it for you. The nurse will check up on you from time to time. Just let us know if you need anything else and oh also, here's another bottle of water,"

"How big is this man's pocket?" It was almost comical how he can fit so many things in his lab coat.

"Hey… uh… when… wait– no. What else did you guys find nearby when you guys found me?" I said, trying to properly piece my words together into an actual coherent sentence. "Well…" He leaned back in his chair. "Other than the fact that you survived an explosion in the wild, they didn't tell me much. Why do you ask?" I replied to him, "N– nothing."

"So what now?"

"I guess you just have to wait it out. Well, I'm off for now. Try not to do any intense activity for the time being. The call button is right there," He points towards a blue button located beside an outlet nearby. "Just let the nurse know if you need any help."

"O-okay…"

He got up and walked out of the room, closing the door behind him. I was left absolutely speechless. I tried to accept but denial is the barrier.

"GOD DAMNIT!" I couldn't help but let all my emotions out. I got up and slammed the table beside my bed which was a big mistake since I forgot that my arms still hurt and hitting them on a table made it even worse. I quickly pulled my arms back and shook them as I internally screamed in pain.

I laid back on the bed contemplating what I had gotten myself into. It's hard to believe what is happening. This feels like a fever dream but I'm not. I can feel pain. I can… I am aware of my surroundings. I am in the Pokemon world.

But then it finally dawned on me. I won't be seeing anyone that I know and love. My friends? My family? Nope, not A CHANCE. Unless I find a way quickly, I won't be seeing them for quite a while or at all.

Now stuck inside the room all by myself, I could only lay and stare at the ceiling or be lost in my thoughts, thinking about how things will turn out without me back at home. Seconds became minutes, minutes became hours.

"What's the plan?" I asked myself as I slowly wiped the tears from my eyes.

I was woken up by the sheer amount of light blasting through my eyelids. Slowly, I opened my eyes and tried to cover them with my arms but they are tied to the chair I was sitting on. "The hell?"

Looking around the dimly lit room I was in, I noticed a table in front of me. The walls are painted white with orange trim and the floor is simply bare concrete but most importantly, there was a woman sitting at the other end of the table.

"...What? What is…" I asked confusingly still feeling tired from my sleep. This woman look like she was in her late 20s. She had long black hair along with a black long-sleeved shirt.

"Now that you're awake, I'm gonna ask you some questions and you're gonna answer them." I was stunned at her sudden passive-aggressiveness. "What…? Why? Why am I even here in the first place?" I said as I looked around the room.

"We have reasons to suspect that you're an extra-terrestrial being." I immediately looked back at her, giving her an expression that says 'What the fuck?'. "They know. They know. Oh my god, they know." I thought to myself as I begin to panic.

"Ya know, for an alien, you are very fluent in our language." she continued. Even though her accusations were true, I did try to deny said accusations. Maybe I can finesse myself out of this situation.

"Look, I'm sorry, but is there any proof for any of this? For all you know, I could have just been some random ass g-" But then my worst fear came to me as she pulls out a card. My identity card. "That's you isn't it?"

She's basically doxxing me at this point and I can't even do anything about it. I'm going to fucking end myself. I swear to god.

"Wha- how do you guys find all this? How do you guys even come to this conclusion?" I said as I a bead of sweat run down my forehead.

"Firstly, there was no aircraft with the same registration as this one. Secondly, no other aircraft was flying above Sinnoh then, and the thing that sold it out was…" She pulls out a picture of the tail number of the plane, burnt to a crisp yet still in fact readable. "What are these? What does this mean and what do these symbols mean? We found this card at the crash site and it has your face on it. Now tell me, what are your intentions coming to this planet?"

"I don't know?!"

"What are your intentions?" she repeated. I was in so much distress that it won't take much pressure to break me. And the pressure DID come… and it broke me.

"Look, I'm just as clueless as you are. If you REALLY wanna know my perspective on this, I don't know what happened, why the FUCK I'm here, how the FUCK I got here, and how the FUCK is this even possible. I was just… looking forward to a vacation but NO, it looks like I can't even have even that. I've basically been kicked out of my world and now I'm lost and now I'm literally in another world which doesn't make sense. This doesn't make sense. THIS JUST- IT DOESN'T MAKE FUCKING SENSE!" I exclaimed, my voice shaking as I began to break down into tears.

Truth is, I am scared. I am scared of what is to come. I really have nothing to my name and there isn't really much I can do about it. Hell, I'm not even a certified citizen. Even my chances of getting back are close to zero.

I can't help but stop holding in my tears and letting it all out because it is okay to cry sometimes, right? Seeing as I was about to cry, the woman slowly got up, went around the table, and hugged me.

"Thank you. I really needed that. Thank you," I was still sobbing when I said that. "I don't– I don't even know what I'm going to do. I'm just so lost. It doesn't look like I have anything. I don't even know if my stuff is even here."

She placed both of her hands on my shoulder and looked at me in the eyes, "Tell you what, if you are willing to cooperate, we will help you in return. Sounds like a deal?"

"Sure…It's not like I have a choice anyway…" I said as I wiped my tears away with the gown that I was still wearing. I was somewhat relieved by that. Someone is willing to help me get through this instead of throwing me into the slammer or worse, forcing me to become a lab rat.
